1001 Albums Summary

It's amazing the number of bangers/known songs on this one album. She's quite a prolific singer/songwriter. Awesome to learn she was one of the songwriters behind "Will You Love Me Tomorrow?" I had just learned that she didn't want Gilmore Girls to use "Where You Lead" because it was about a man, but then she re-recorded it with her daughter when they told her the premise of the show. Interesting to her the original song and it's lyrics. I don't particularly love her voice. It has a specific quality that is just right for these songs and I know if from the Gilmore Girls show and her speaking voice. I am very impressed by her songwriting and her piano skills.

That voice.

Such an incredible sound. Definitely in my all time Top Ten.

Apparently I've never listened to the whole album, just the top songs. Really liked the opening song "Hello". Album in total became a little repetitive of a sound, but was still good.

I was bored. Forgot to keep listening. Couldn't remember where I left off. Such a repetitious boring sound to me.

Too long

It's cool for what it is.

It was fine. Probably won't listen to this album again. Has some songs that are nostalgic that I was glad to listen to again.

Big fan of this album. Owned it when I was in high school. I remember how cool all the different tracks where at the time. The Roberta Flack cover is still one of my top favorite songs.

This was a really fun album. Liked the beat and the Portugese language.

Meh, not for me

Pleasantly surprised by the album. Had a real dark soul sound to it. An intro to metal if you will. Probably won't listen to it again, but might look into additional Black Sabbath albums.

Some favorite nostalgic songs on her. Vocals make sense on those. But for a lot of the album it felt like he was really straining for the notes. Off putting sounds on many songs.

I've already forgotten it from the just listening to it yesterday. I like punk, but this album just didn't do it for me.

Each song is very repetitive. As a stand-alone song it's fine, but multiple of a very static beat is not great.

Liked a few of the songs, but wasn't interested in continually listening. Kept stopping it for distractions, and then would forget I was even listening to it.

Such a sad listen. I do love me some Johnny Cash, but this is not one of my top albums of his. It was quite beautiful, just such a change from the Johnny I grew up with. Has a cover of one of my all time favorite songs - First Time Ever I Saw Your Face.

Weird, but liked quite a few of the songs as a cohesive album. Very Buffy-core.

3.5. Some real bangers. Not a Beatles fan, but I can recognize the importance of some of these songs. The rest is sort of like let everyone have a go at a song or two. Too much.

A gritty, murky, downbeat sound that I liked. Wu-Tang was not a group I listened to when they came out, so I'm late to the game in listening to anything other than the top hits. I'm not much of a rap fan, but I liked this.

Love how this flows so seamlessly between tracks.

Mopey man music. Maybe if it was fall and raining out.

This movie was such a revelation when it came out. The music absolutely set the perfect tone for it. On it's own doesn't quite hit the same.

This dude definitely listened to a lot of Nick Drake.
