It’s ok, respected as helping found punk genre, but not something I’d listen to more than once

I like it, a good addition to Beatles-esque oldies

R&B, funky Motown, gospel…quite eclectic. There’s a lot to recognize here and enjoy even if not my normal thing.

REM hasn’t ever been my taste but some of this, esp the later tracks, is pretty good, nirvana-esque.

More like Rolling Stones and Pink Floyd than pennywise or nofx

Not sure why I haven’t listened to these guys before. My generation alternative, making me think of soundgarden and the like. 4

I didn’t have high expectations after experience with Fever to Tell, but this is good and well done.

Bland and uninspiring. Not necessarily mediocre, they do some novel things and have a unique sound, but it’s just not a collective good.

1 star for publishing an album 1 star for guitars and drums, which are pretty rad Zero stars for everything else. The vocals are beyond appalling.

Self titled isn’t available on Apple Music so checked out House Tornado instead. I like it, cranberries-esque with vocals and good musicality, but more punk themes which I dig. 4.

Classic but short and one song is done twice for the crowd.

Lead voice gets a bit tiresome late in the album

Initially something in between oasis and the stills but it became more distinct and interesting deeper into the album.

I feel like I should like this album…the music is good and well done, but there’s something that doesn’t jive for me. Maybe a slowness or softness across many of the tracks that leaves me wanting more.

Really fun. Would rate higher in my younger days when I could handle the constant high energy.

Good and easy listening, but kind of also just another 60s English rock band, albeit a bit more crude and vocal about their vices than the pop groups.

Couldn’t listen to this one, tried some other albums and didn’t catch on. 2.

Entertaining song writing. The style got a little repetitive but overall good stuff and easy listening to the story telling.

I listened to Sloop John B so many times in childhood and still so good today. The majority of the album falls a bit flat for me today but well appreciated. 3.

This is big music. Each song has a lot going on and is really coherent across the entire album. 4.

Music is so light and easy to listen to, even though not my preferred taste. And wow save the children, god is love, and wholly holy remain incredibly relevant today 55+ years later.

Sounds fun, better if I understood french

Pop, but more rough around the edges than bigger names which makes it interesting. Overall not my taste at all but no complaints on the musical quality.

Didn’t expect so many pop and country sounds from san artist wearing docs

Crude and degrading to women

Took two listens to get into it. There’s a few too many softer ballads in the first half, but it’s well balanced with grungier tracks like Use once and destroy and Playing your song. They probably had great live shows. 3

Is there another word but boring? Vocals are dull and the strokes vocals nail that style so much better. The music is ok, nothing wrong with it, but lacks inspiration. Could be good for rainy Saturday mornings, but there’s better out there for that time. 2

Blend of rock and country, I guess Americana would describe it best. Gets better on multiple listens.

In the likes of epic opera rock. Too many instrumental and long winding tracks. 2
