Some nice funky baselines and soothing falsetto

Two fantastic separate double albums bundled up as one. Club banger after banger on Speakerbox with drum and bass influence and the more laid back sexy, jazzy, lovey dovey Love Below. Both are easy 4/5 albums individually only let down by some annoying skits

Time After Time and Girls Just Wanna Have Fun are absolute classic standout tracks on this decent but otherwise uninspiring album

Some nice slide guitar and interesting lyrics but didn't really catch my attention.

Solid 3. Nice sound and feel and I really liked No Tears and Pretty in Pink. Let down by being too samey all the way through, little to differentiate between the tracks.

Fantastic album, so many great tracks. I love White Rabbit in particular and the epic crescendo it builds to. Can really see how they must have influenced bands like Fleetwood Mac.

Repetitive, boring and long. That was a tough slog.

Better than I thought it would be. I'm really not a fan of Bono or his singing but quite enjoyed this.

Fast, fun, simple and catchy. 14 songs in 29 minutes to create an album that would inspire a movement.

The lyrics are very cringe shouty teen angst, but luckily you can barely make them out. The drumming is fantastic and overall I quite enjoyed it.

Shouldn't be in this list. Might have been on in the 90s but has not agreed well.

Quite fun, gothic, camp rockabilly. I can see how this really influenced 80s Matchbox B-Line disaster who then improved on the formula.

Acoustic first half of the album before the electric raw protogrunge second half.

I really liked Just What I Needed and I can see how they must be pretty ahead of their time as they sound so 80s for 1978. But it's just not for me.

I would have been happy to have waited until I died for this one.

Beautiful stuff

Not my favourite Beatles album, but still a 5. The best two songs are probably the two George songs, Come Together and Oh! Darling also great. It could have done without Maxwell's Silver Hammer

Solid 4, top tier britpop. Great tunes with dry humour

Clint Eastwood and 19-2000 are great but overall it's not that exciting. Gorillazs improve with later albums

Boring, saccharin sweet, middle of the road pop with a hint of country.

90s nostalgia from my childhood couldn't make me like this. Early britpop which feels pretty boring now and hasn't aged that well

Got respect them for calling their debut album Club Classics Vol. One. But it lives up to its name, this album is club banger after banger. Great beats, crisp production and smooth vocals.

Needs more bongo

Great highlights like Thought the wire, all falls down, we don't care and slow jams. But too much filler and too many annoying skits about degrees. Could have been a 4 or 5 just by cutting the run time in half

Pretty middle of the road

They're very good instrumentally but the singing and lyrics are awful. If they got themselves a decent singer I could see them making it big.

I liked this a lot less than Achtun bsby

Not Bowie's greatest but still very good. Time is the standout track. Some great guitar playing.

I didn't like it at first but it did grow on me by the end of the first listen. Rooster is a great track.

Classic 90s hits

These Days is a great track and a few other good ones too. Overall I'll give a high three

One of those albums that I feel I should really like but just don't do anything for me. Decent folky singer songwriter stuff and sounds much more modern than 70s, but quite boring really.

Decent albums. A bit hit and miss. They were clearly trying to follow up on the success of Rumours but could catch lightning in a bottle this time

I would like it more with a different singing style I think. But overall still very enjoyable

Don't listen to the album linked in this website, that is a remastered extended edition which is over 2h long. The original was only 43 mins long. Search for the original and you won't be disappointed, great stuff and without all the filler and introductions that are in the extended version. Someone has made a Spotify playlist with only the tracks from the original, listen to that one. Diminuendo and Crescendo in Blue is a fantastic album closer.

Better than I was expecting, I like Madonna but thought she had lost it by this point in her career. Great production

Found this hard to go rate, I wanted to like it but it's just quite joyous and takes itself too seriously

So ahead of it's time. Chemical Brothers had a whole career sounding exactly like Tomorrow Never Knows

I like the guitar sound but overall this didn't click for me. Just a bit too cheesy

Lovely live performance, but why did he play Mojo Working twice in a row?

The band the Beatles could have been

Some lovely jangly guitar playing. Without this the Strokes would not exist

Some beautiful songs like Nightswimming and Everybody hurts. But overall just a bit unexciting.

Make sure you listen to the right album! The Spotify link takes you to their 8th album of the same name (which is still decent). Find their compilation album "In the doghouse". The first 10 tracks are the right one. Great album and one that makes doing this list worthwhile. I particularly like the use of cowbell on Rabbits Dying.

Fun album

Sounds like a cross between My Bloody Valentine and The Stone Roses. And I love both those bands. This is a great find I may never have heard without this list.

This was the first album I ever bought so quite a bit of nostalgia for me. I hadn't listened to it since the 90s and wasn't expecting much but I enjoyed it much more than I thought I would.

Some nice songwriting and a great voice. Banks of the Pontchartrain is a great tune

Some very cringe sing songy ad libs singing things like "I've forgotten the words to this song" and "Ella Fitzgerald sings it like this, I'm gonna sing it like that too". The sound quality is great for a 50s live recording but I found it to just sound so similar all the way through and just bored

I enjoyed this. Lots of emotional expression in his voice, I just wish I could understand french to better appreciate it.

The crowd are really hyped up for this. Great performance

I prefer Ray Charles when he's more bluesy

Beautiful evocative storytelling accompanied by a big wall of sound from the band. Springsteen has a knack for saying so much with very few words. The album opens with some of the best opening lines of all time in Thunder Road, one of the best opening tracks of all time. "The screen door slams, Mary's dress sways Like a vision she dances across the porch as the radio plays Roy Orbison's singing for the lonely Hey, that's me and I want you only Don't turn me home again I just can't face myself alone again"

Some high points like Around the World and Da Funk but overall just too repetitive for me. I found it a slog to get through.
