Enjoyed the banter with the inmates. Good storytelling of jailhouse tails.
Didn’t gel well with many of the songs outside of 1 or 2.
Nice groovey ballads.
Nothing stood out.
Groove is in the Heart is a banger. Everything else had some fun parts but nothing too memorable.
More of an experience than 'listening to music'. Not something I'd have in my normal rotation but I can appreciate the craftsmanship of the album. The amount of sounds used is staggering. Had to check my surroundings a few times to check where the sound was coming from. I wouldn't say one song stood out so it would be hard for me to go back and listen to a single song. Definitely needs multiple listens to appreciate.
Definitely trying to put on a persona. Mish mash of sounds and rapping but all ties together nicely. Would throw it into the rotation now and then.
His voice is iconic. Can’t help but enjoy it. The instrumentals is what kept me engaged though. Don’t get the back and forth between singer and band like this much anymore.
Enjoyed the stripped down vibe of the whole album. Pretty even throughout, no outliers.
Great album. Couple classics, some cool interlude songs, didn’t ever find myself looking for the next song.
After this hits, kind of weak. Little disappointed.
Liking the psychedelic funk albums. Fun to see where they go with songs and how they make them sound different.
Love the hits. Was worried when I saw how long the album was and thought the songs would get old if they all sounded like the hits but was pleasantly surprised by some of the instrumentals.
Not my thing. Probably takes another listen to appreciate more. Knowing nothing going in, it didn’t hook me right away and got a little bored of it.
Good music but kind of a long album.
Loved the sound of her voice along with the musical arrangement. Paired well together.
The hits didn’t save this album. Could have skipped a couple songs.
Nothing stood out.
Mostly listenable but not my style.
The hits still hit and the rest of the album is very listenable.
No stand out songs. Very forgettable.
Couple notable parts. Would probably like it more on a second listen.
Enjoyed this more than I thought I would. I think the album is greater than the sum of it's parts due to the vibe.
This album slaps. Fun, energetic songs that holds pace the entire way.
Surprised at how much I liked this. Not an everyday listen but it definitely is quality.
Shorter album but all the songs hit well. Solid.
Couldn't make it through. There is maybe a couple of listenable seconds but most of it has no redeemable value. Tough listen.
Wish there was a little bit of vocals to give the songs a little more uniqueness. Still enjoyed the album though.
Had no idea who they were but really enjoyed the album. Haven’t heard a new to me rock album in a while that I liked this all the way through.
Never listened to NIN because I didn’t think I would like them, and I was right. Was interested in more of the slower, musical parts but there weren’t too many of those.
Hard to not find David Byrne at least a little interesting.
About what I thought it would be. Had fun. Always tough to listen to just instrumental for so long though.
Not a lot of stand out but not unenjoyable either.
Couple of fun ones. Doesn’t dip too low in quality.
Don’t want name recognition to cloud bias but this was a solid album.
Love how the three guys can jump in and out from each other. Almost could be one person. High energy nonstop.
Hard to rate older albums sometimes but this one didn’t land. Just ok.
Solid throughout, got some nice singles. Lead singer has a distinct voice that hits.
Busy. They had a unique sound and I wanted to like it but they were just a bit too unpolished and meandered too much in a lot of songs. Lead singer talking in short phrases for much of the song isn’t very interesting.
Decent album, didn’t connect with any one song but it felt polished. Enjoyed it.
Love ‘Girls Just Want to Have Fun’ and ‘Time After Time’ but the other songs just weren’t up to par. Listenable but not something I’d come back to regularly.
Would have been more enjoyable baked out of my mind.
What a vibe. Liked it way more than I thought I would. The different styles all worked well. Not sure if any one song would be a “single” but loved it all.
Was a bit turned off by the theme of the lyrics but was fine to listen to.
Love this album. Flows well from song to song, the hits stand out but every song has something to offer.
A perfectly fine album. No highs, no lows.
Musically it had its interesting parts layering all the different instruments but I can only take that style of singing for so long.
Wanted to like this more but just didn't hit as much as I thought when I first heard the synth.
Hadn’t heard of them before and enjoyed the album. No one song stood out but vibe was good throughout. Not what I thought they would sing like based off the album cover
Quick rock album that sticks to its theme. Has some different elements that work well for a rock album.
Never heard of them before this. Album is listenable. Songs are different enough that it doesn’t get repetitive and the album is shorter at 45 minutes. Not sure I’d recommend any one song.
I feel like I could go to any song on here and bop to it in some way. Each song is well crafted. Full but not busy. Complete album.
Chill, oldie album.
So so good. The vibes of this album are off the charts. The passion of the singer with the groovy beats had me entranced the entire 2 hours. Never board.
First listen to the Beatles. Hard to comprehend the hype for these older albums. Sounds basic but that’s just the nature of the times. Good album, didn’t dislike any song but it helps that they are so short.
Lots of energy and the music was tightly produced but not my cup of tea on the whole. Lead singer is impressive with the range.
Felt like I was missing a visual while listening. I had vibes of a soundtrack to one of those quirky silent animations for kids where there’s an animal that acts curious and peculiar.
Fun, fine, but not an everyday thing for me.
Loved a lot of these songs when they first came out and they all still have so much truth to them. One of the great albums of the period.
Wanted to like it more but not enough for 3*. Definitely more in the right direction for a punk album but none of the songs stood out.
Nice tunes. Really easy listening.
Wanted to like it more for how many plays it has but the breathy-ness of the singing was just too overdone. Beats were cool. Didn't connect with the lyrics too much but they flowed fine with the music.
I actually found this quite listenable for a punk band. Was a little surprised to see how low their listens were on Spotify but I guess that's probably pretty normal for most punk bands from the early 90s. Nothing was amazing but again found it listenable for a punk group.
A perfectly fine pop album. Doesn’t stray too far from what you’d hear on the radio. Kind of bland but didn’t find myself looking for the skip button either. Weird one to rate as I didn’t hate it but nothing stood out.
Agh, must have listened to this in the wrong mindset. It was ok. Might have liked it under different circumstances but I didn’t hate it.
Nice short album with some decent songs. Shortness helped keep my attention. Any longer and this probably goes to a 2.
What a soothing voice. Definitely added some time to my commute with how calm she made me. Hadn’t really heard her beyond the major hits. Liked the variety of sound. Energy was lower for most of it but rose in one song and it stood out. Could definitely see putting this on again in the right context.
This one didn't land. Just not enough anything to keep me engaged.
Couldn't get past the pushy political/sappy save the children lyrics to give this a fair shot, and then I did and was sexually assaulted at the end. What a twist. Giving this a two because someone worked hard on the beats and those were at least fun at times.
Not my usual jam but fun stuff.
Appreciated the attempt at teaching the music. Definitely helped me understand what was going on more and kicked it up a star.
Didn't have that song that stole the show but enjoyable none the less. Would listen to again.
Not my usual thing but not sure how I would have found this otherwise. Nice blend of genres. Songs were bouncy and fun.
Lupe always stood out for me when I was listening to him at the time this came out. Admittedly never listened to this all the way through but glad to report that it mostly holds up. Couple highlights boost this but the beat quality and lyrical complexity keeps the fun vibe throughout.
Still don’t get them. Musically they are fine but I can’t buy into the hype. Not to beat a dead horse but it sounds like the lead singer is whining a lot.
Already liked a few songs off this album so was worried the rest wouldn't hold up but was pleasantly surprised that enough of them held the standard. Couple of lame skits but it happens.
Second Black Sabbath album after never really giving them a chance outside their Guitar Hero songs. I may have to do a deeper dive one day. This one didn't have the star power that Paranoid did but still really enjoyed it throughout.
I was so ready to rate this low but dammit if it didn't have me bouncing and vibing. Certainly not an everyday type of music for me but today it worked well enough to gain a star.
Knew them by name and a bit of one song before this album. Good example of wanting half stars for the rating. Liked it more than I thought I would but not enough to put it with some of my higher rated albums.
Only thing that hurt this was the length. Could have been a little tighter but I won't be too upset at getting to listen to all this good music. My first real listening of Stevie Wonder. I had heard most of his hits but never at length. Enjoyed it thoroughly. Definitely added more than a couple of the songs to my hits playlist.
Started out ok but went downhill fast. Just simple, both in music arrangement and lyrics.
It’s Bob Dylan. By this point I know what I’m getting. Guitar and stories. And you know what? I’m ok with that sometimes.
Not many artist immediately transport you to a specific place when you hear one of their songs. Shortness keeps it tight and brings up the average due to the big hits with Born on the Bayou and Proud Mary. This was a fun deeper dive on a band I knew a little bit about already.
I was so ready to hate this but dammit if it wouldn't be nice to have on in the background on a calm, chill night. Singer can sing that's for sure.
Maybe the Punk album I didn't hate the most so far. Not a high bar.
More than a solid rock album. First two songs are legendary and really set the tone. Looking forward to getting more into them as more albums come up.
I can appreciate this album. Ella sings with such ease. The music is engaging making you feel like you’re in a Tom and Jerry episode. In the right setting this is very enjoyable. But over 3 hours.. glad to move on to something else.
Couple of classics and the rest of the album isn't bad either.
Was looking forward to this album but it was a major letdown. Found myself wanting to skip a few songs. Very disappointed.
I knew the name and had heard some snippets but never a full song on purpose let alone an album. Very listenable. No one song stood out in a good or bad way. Would probably like it more on the second listen.
Ahhh what a weird one to rate. Double album with some bangers and forgettable ones. Too many skits in an already long album. Other than the songs I knew, wasn’t really into it.
Maybe the most boring album yet. Nothing unique. No energy. Couldn’t understand the singer half the time. She sang like she didn’t really want to be on this album and I think I know why. Not good.
Ehh I don’t know. It’s decent.
Some highs and lows but ultimately an easy listen album that would do better in the right setting. Trying to not hold the style against it as it's been heavily overplayed by now.
My first Tupac album and I’m upset I didn’t look into him earlier. Everything I’ve heard rings true. Just smooth and easy listening. Good storytelling, maybe a bit repetitive on subject matter but I didn’t mind for the most part. Just entranced by the flow and beats.
Admittedly not a Beatles fan but more because I just haven’t listened to too much of them. Don’t think I’ll be listening to many of these songs twice. Too many just didn’t land.
Pretty standard 80s rock with a couple of better than average songs.
Songs I remember, about half the album, are still good. Those 8 songs were on repeat when this album first came out. I think this was my first exposure to 'not everything is great' vibes if you know what I mean? I loved the high energy and Chester's voice really keeps you engaged with the songs. The less popular songs while not necessarily bad are more forgettable and don't evoke the same emotional response.
Just not for me. Have it 1 and a half listens after not liking it and seeing all the high reviews.
Good energy, fun and upbeat, but that’s disco.
Interesting voice on the singer. Good tunes, easy listening.
Fine rock album. Feels a bit more polished than your average rock album. Got some nice hits and the other songs are listenable but kind of forgettable. I can see why people call them a “budget-Radiohead” but I think I still prefer Muse.
Mostly an easy listen but I still can't get all the way into the Beatles. I have been enjoying just how simple some of the songs are and can see how they could just pump out songs/albums since there wasn't THAT much production going on and it was really just the four members.
I don't get it. Just meanders around without really getting into any kind of story with the instrumental.
Not bad, the “irishness” of the album wasn’t too overwhelming so that kept it listenable. Nothing stood out though and unlikely to go back to any of it.
My first piano concert. In the right setting this is good background music but I don’t think I would put anything in my normal rotation.
Nothing really stood out either way. Definitely liked it more than disliked but not something I’d go back to immediately.
Enjoyed this one even though I probably won't find myself coming back to it. Vibes were good.
First two songs are classics, those I knew. Rest of the album was new to me but enjoyed the vibes throughout. Lyrics got a little weird/crazy at times but that's Prince and the music always kept me into it. I wouldn't say I'm a huge fan after listening but I didn't find myself wanting to skip anything.
If this was an experimental album, the experiment failed. When I finally noticed I was liking a song turns out the album had ended and gone to a new artist.
Better than the other album I listen to from them but something about it just didn’t hit with me.
Can’t deny how good of a singer she is but I can’t just get into the songs. Also replaying three of the songs at the end is kind of annoying.
I want to like Talking Heads but they just aren't consistent enough for me. David Byrne has a distinct voice that is mostly interesting but there aren't enough highs to outweigh the lows.
There She Goes is a classic and the rest of the songs are go by pretty quick which was kind of nice in that none of the songs dragged. Overall not a bad listen.
Heard of Meatloaf but had never really listened to him. Fun album with energy. He’s got a great voice and the music felt big. Got a rock-opera thing going on.
First time listening to The Cure and they definitely have a certain vibe going. Not sure if they caught me in the right mood but I dug it.
Didn't connect with this album. Couldn't get into his voice and the music didn't keep me interested.
Not my usual style but this was easy listening and I can totally see this on in the background in the right setting.
This was a lot of fun. Dancing Queen, Money Money Money and Fernando are all great songs. Other songs on the album kept the quality high and did not expect to like this throughout as much as I did. Helps that the three hits were spread out but still, solid all around.
Listenable but long and detracted from my enjoyment.
Not something I’d jam to alone but could see this being in the background of a fancy dinner party
I can tolerate this, one of the more listenable punk albums but if this project has taught me anything it's that I'm not a punk.
This was fun. I was familiar with Message in a Bottle, thanks Guitar Hero. I found the other songs interesting with the obvious reggae influences.
Every song feels crafted. Keeps you engaged with all the unique twists and turns in songs. Hadn't really listen to Led Zeppelin before this project but can definitely see why they are as loved as they are.
I once thought that 80s synth was my thing and was waiting for an album on this project to listen to. Maybe I was wrong.
Definitely has that 80s vibe but not the common overly used synth. Replaces it with horn (and saxophone!) which was a nice change of pace. Doesn’t have too many repetitive sections and the breakdowns keep it lively and fresh. Solid album.
I know Bowie is a big deal to some but I did not connect with this album.
Familiar with the Eagles but not much outside the two hits at the beginning. Enjoyed this. Easy listening, not repetitive, feels crafted by actual musicians that understand how to play well together.
Was familiar with Sound of Silence but not anything else. Ended up liking most of the other songs more than that. Surprised with their sound as it was not all that similar to SoS, in a good way. Short album but wouldn't have minded another couple songs.
Very forgettable. Nothing stood out. Not sure why this was included in the list.
I’m a Coldplay fan but mostly in passing. I like their hits but had never really listened to a whole album. This was good throughout. Hits are still good and the secondary songs can also stand on their own. Solid album.
Not something I’d necessarily throw on but there’s something about these simple songs that are just easy listening and relaxing. I see the value in this album over some of the other stuff on here that doesn’t have the character this does.
Love Queen but had only heard of Killer Queen on this album. Hard to give Freddie Mercury anything less than 4 stars. He kills it on every song.
Some highs and low. Not the biggest stones fan so it either hits or it doesn't. This one had two bigger songs bookending so it was fine.
Going in, was not expecting much. But found a couple songs other than the two hits that were listenable. Some dated songs but overall fine. Would probably give this a 2.5 if I could.
This was fun. Love the groove, multiple layers, and his voice has great emotion. New fan.
