Daydream Nation by Sonic Youth
Nov 11 2025

One of the best indie rock albums ever recorded. Captures a moment in musical time, a perfectly paced album that hasn't grown stale in the years since release.

Guero by Beck
Nov 13 2025

It was alright... a few standout songs, but it started to all kind of blend together after a while.

Pink Moon by Nick Drake
Nov 14 2025

Nice somber album. Slow, thoughtful, tinged with regret. Not something I'd listen to every day, but it definitely scratches the occasional itch.

Nov 24 2025

One of the greatest examples of funk ever produced, with surprisingly shredding guitar solos. Never gets old.

Eliminator by ZZ Top
Nov 25 2025

Great classic Rock and Roll album. What's not to like?

Band On The Run by Paul McCartney and Wings
Nov 26 2025

Great album. Was expecting a sound closer to the Beatles, but it was refreshingly different. Hadn't heard this album before, and was pleasantly surprised

The La's by The La's
Nov 27 2025

Wasn't too familiar with this band, until I heard "There She Goes" Only song that really stood out, to be honest, but it was overall a decent album.

Elvis Presley by Elvis Presley
Dec 01 2025

I can't separate the album from the cultural significance... I've heard all the songs my entire life, inescapable.

We Are Family by Sister Sledge
Dec 02 2025

Classic disco, not much more to say

D by White Denim
Dec 03 2025

Good blues rock, but hasn't stuck with me.

La Revancha Del Tango by Gotan Project
Dec 04 2025

Great electro tango(?) album. I never would have heard this if not for this site, and I'm very glad I did.

Porcupine by Echo And The Bunnymen
Dec 05 2025

A timeless classic, which is ironic, given that the genre "Post-Punk" is defined by it's moment in time. It was great when it was released, it's great now

Led Zeppelin IV by Led Zeppelin
Dec 09 2025

Classic Rock and Roll, there's a reason this album is venerated as one of the best Rock albums of all time

Unhalfbricking by Fairport Convention
Dec 10 2025

Classic example of folk rock. It isn't bad, but it didn't strike me as a superlative album. Maybe there is some context as to when it was released that I'm not aware of.

So Much For The City by The Thrills
Dec 11 2025

Decent album, reminded me a lot of the Flaming Lips. But I can't actively remember any of the songs, so it was a little forgettable.

Vivid by Living Colour
Dec 12 2025

Fun album, nothing that stands out, but it's fun.

Urban Hymns by The Verve
Dec 15 2025

It was certainly a product of it's time. Bittersweet Symphony is the standout track, and the only one I can really remember.

Illinois by Sufjan Stevens
Dec 16 2025

I had never heard of this artist before, but really enjoyed the album. Happy music, easy to listen to.

Black Metal by Venom
Dec 17 2025

One of the origins of one of my favorite genres, this album gets points for historical importance. However, the production quality is rough, to be kind, and the music isn't as well developed as the bands that it inspired. Still, I don't hate it, and can appreciate it for what it is.

Life Thru A Lens by Robbie Williams
Dec 19 2025

I can see why Robbie Williams is such a star in the UK. I wasn't familiar with his music before listening to this, and while it isn't necessarily my usual cup of tea, it was enjoyable.

Stand! by Sly & The Family Stone
Dec 22 2025
Zombie by Fela Kuti
Dec 23 2025
At San Quentin by Johnny Cash
Jan 06 2026

I don't normally enjoy live albums, as they are usually inferior to studio recordings of the same material, but this is a fantastic exception.

Who's Next by The Who
Jan 13 2026

Great classic rock. There's a reason they became icons

Vauxhall And I by Morrissey
Jan 14 2026

I can appreciate Morrissey for the music he made, but I can't help but find it a little whiny these days.

The Madcap Laughs by Syd Barrett
Jan 15 2026

Somewhat hard to listen to. I can appreciate the raw nature of the recording and songwriting, but there are so many other albums with the same quality that are just nicer to listen to.

The Trinity Session by Cowboy Junkies
Jan 16 2026

Slower than I expected.... reminded me of old folk/country music, oddly enough ,with a modern sensibility. I liked it, but it generally isn't for me.

Hejira by Joni Mitchell
Jan 23 2026

A little slow for my taste

Ill Communication by Beastie Boys
Feb 02 2026

Classic 90's hiphop, its no wonder Beasty Boys are considered one of the greats of that era

461 Ocean Boulevard by Eric Clapton
Feb 04 2026

Another one of those albums that slipped under my radar, maybe it was just a bit before my time, but it was a good one.

Rumours by Fleetwood Mac
Feb 05 2026
The Man Machine by Kraftwerk
Feb 09 2026

A groundbreaking album, more important for when it was released than how it sounds today

Elephant by The White Stripes
Feb 10 2026
Bitches Brew by Miles Davis
Feb 13 2026

I understand that t his album was important, but its hard for me to listen to

Oxygène by Jean-Michel Jarre
Feb 19 2026
Vespertine by Björk
Feb 27 2026

Some of Bjork's best, but its exactly what you expect form Bjork. No surprises, no disappointments.

Mar 03 2026

Pinnacle of prog rock. Not always in the mood to listen to this sort of music, but when I am, this album delivers

Smile by Brian Wilson
Mar 04 2026

I barely remember it, though I DO remember not hating it.

Survivor by Destiny's Child
Mar 06 2026
The Wall by Pink Floyd
Mar 09 2026

Both ahead of its time and a classic

Damaged by Black Flag
Mar 11 2026
1999 by Prince
May 04 2026

Pop classic, this album cements Prince's status as one of the best performers of all time

Lady Soul by Aretha Franklin
May 05 2026

Classic soul music, a classic

Can't Buy A Thrill by Steely Dan
May 07 2026

Good ole classic rock with great guitar. Only complaint is that all the songs start to run together

25 by Adele
May 11 2026
Autobahn by Kraftwerk
May 21 2026

While I find it the most boring of Kraftwerk's albums, you can't deny the importance. It forever changed music as we know it

Rio by Duran Duran
May 25 2026
The ArchAndroid by Janelle Monáe
Jun 02 2026

A surprise! Somehow, I never even heard of this album, but it was great. I'm usually not a fan of R&B, but this has some quality that won me over.

Catch A Fire by Bob Marley & The Wailers
Jun 03 2026

Not my usual cup of tea, but I can definitely see how this album was a major influence

The Wildest! by Louis Prima
Jun 04 2026

I vaguely recognized the name, but I had no idea how prolific Louis Prima really was. He must be among the most covered artists of all time. Great music

Tres Hombres by ZZ Top
Jun 09 2026

Classic Rock and Roll. It's a little stereotypical at this point, but those stereotypes have to come from somewhere.

Loveless by My Bloody Valentine
Jun 10 2026
Ramones by Ramones
Jun 15 2026

Classic NY Punk. Say what you want about the Ramones, they aren't the most technically impressive band, but I've never met anyone that hates this album. Maybe not their cup of tea, but nobody outright HATES them. That alone is impressive as hell.

The Chronic by Dr. Dre
Jun 16 2026

A seminal hiphop/rap album, truly changed popular music as we knew it

Green River by Creedence Clearwater Revival
Jun 24 2026
Bubble And Scrape by Sebadoh
Jul 02 2026

Bit of a surprise to me. I had never heard of this band, and at first, it seemed like it was the overly pretentious indie rock that you heard about at a coffee shop because you weren't cool enough to discover them. But as it went on, it grew on me, and I get why it's a great album.

The Scream by Siouxsie And The Banshees
Jul 03 2026
Sulk by The Associates
Jul 08 2026

Another album that I didn't even know existed. With obvious inspiration from David Bowie, The Associates manage to not be a copy by incorporating a lot of experimental elements from New Wave and Post Punk, making it a fun album I'll definitely listen to more in the future.

Maggot Brain by Funkadelic
Jul 13 2026

Not just a great funk album, the guitar solos are top tier

The Boatman's Call by Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds
Jul 16 2026

A good album, though I wouldn't call it Nick Cave's best work

Play by Moby
Jul 21 2026
Jul 22 2026

Another album I had never heard of before this list. Nice solid New Wave, reminiscent of The Cure

Run-D.M.C. by Run-D.M.C.
Jul 24 2026

I can appreciate it as one of the foundations of hip hop, but I just didn't find it very engaging

Raising Hell by Run-D.M.C.
Jul 27 2026

I liked this one better than their self titled. A bit more varied, a bit more interesting

Lust For Life by Iggy Pop
Aug 11 2026

Classic proto-punk, it's easy to see Iggy's jazz and soul inspiration, with a Detroit background and a New York point of view. One of my favorite albums

Tommy by The Who
Aug 12 2026

My least favorite The Who album, but it might be because I've heard it way too often

Aug 14 2026

This might be the first album on this list that I didn't enjoy. I can see how it may have been important in the early formation of 80's hip hop, but it seemed like a parody of itself

Sea Change by Beck
Aug 17 2026

Bit more boring than I expected. Wasn't BAD, but wasn't particularly memorable
