Popular Reviews

Cupid & Psyche 85 by Scritti Politti

Having never heard of this artist, I read the reviews and was prepared for an ordeal. However, it was not at all unpleasant. Definitely an '80's sound. I was visualizing Michael Jackson and Miami Vice

The Score by Fugees
Dec 10 2025

Pleasantly surprised.

She's So Unusual by Cyndi Lauper
Dec 11 2025

A classic for many reasons, "Time After Time" would be the number one for me. Then there's "Girls Just Want to Have Fun" and through in songs from Prince and Marianne Faithful, definitely a classic!

Who's Next by The Who
Dec 15 2025

If I could give it a 10, I would. The Who at the height of their power. My vinyl sounds even better!

Tommy by The Who
Dec 16 2025

This established the band as Rock Gods. Hard to believe 4 guys made that much music. And this album definitely showed they were not just another British Invasion band. The beginning sets the scene for the Opera and from Pinball Wizard to the finale they rule! See me, Feel me, Touch me, Heal me! Turn it up!

Music From The Penguin Cafe by Penguin Cafe Orchestra
Dec 17 2025

I liked songs 7,9,10 and 11, especially the violin. Not really my thing, but glad I gave it a listen.

Shaka Zulu by Ladysmith Black Mambazo
Dec 18 2025

Surprisingly pleasant

Kenza by Khaled
Dec 19 2025

I wish I could find translations for the lyrics.

Dec 22 2025

The See Me Now song isn't available on Apple Music, so I went to YouTube. It was the best song of the album. Not at all my kind of music, but I guess if Rap is your thing, it's not bad. The profanity is off putting to me.

Court And Spark by Joni Mitchell
Dec 23 2025

Beautiful album. In this album, Joni starts to get into jazz. She was always growing, reaching. And intelligent lyrics-no profanity needed.

Ritual De Lo Habitual by Jane's Addiction
Dec 24 2025

I liked the music better than I thought I would. The lyrics, with the exception of one or two songs are weak, like a song glorifying shoplifting. No thanks.

Let's Get Killed by David Holmes
Dec 25 2025

On song 3 and so far to my ears, this is background noise, not music. To be fair, I will try to listen to the whole album. But if song 3 was his first hit, I'm not optimistic. The song Rodney Yates was the easiest to listen to, but not enough to call this album music.

Dec 26 2025

Took me back to my childhood! Interesting that Leon Russell was on piano and Sonny Bono on drums on all of the songs. Sad that Phil Spector went off the rails later in life. He did produce some wonderful music. Thank you for this Christmas gift!

Bookends by Simon & Garfunkel
Dec 29 2025
Your Arsenal by Morrissey
Dec 31 2025

Surprisingly easy to listen to.

Femi Kuti by Femi Kuti
Jan 01 2026

Although this is not really my genre of choice, I found myself bopping along to the music, getting things done. Some sad lyrics

Supa Dupa Fly by Missy Elliott
Jan 02 2026

Missy makes rap easy to listen to. Loved the song with Aaliyah, Best Friends

The Clash by The Clash
Jan 05 2026

Had this been an instrumental album, I might've given it a five. Loved the guitars! However, the vocals were off putting to me. Most of the lyrics were worth hearing, but their delivery brought the album down for me.

Hot Rats by Frank Zappa
Jan 06 2026

I wish we could give more detailed scores. Because I'd like to give this album a 4.5.

GREY Area by Little Simz
Jan 08 2026

Another album that I wish I could give ratings with .5 increments. She gets the benefit of the doubt so my 2.5 will be a three. To be fair, rap is not my genre.

Lost In The Dream by The War On Drugs
Jan 09 2026

I was listening to the album in the background when Burning and Lost in the Dream really grabbed me. Then In Reverse, definitely shades of Dire Staits. I'm gonna go back and give it an attentive listen. Have to decide which way the the 4.5 I'd give it now will go. An Ocean in Between the Waves is an excellent hard driving song. This album would be a great accompaniment on a long drive.

1984 by Van Halen
Jan 12 2026

Jump!

KIWANUKA by Michael Kiwanuka
Jan 13 2026

Really nice album. Had it on as background and it pulled me in to listen. He successfully melds many genres.

Jan 15 2026

Johnny Cash's last album. I think he was trying to give us what he felt important even as his life was ebbing. Really a 4.5 compared to his earlier albums, but he gets a 5 final from me.

m b v by My Bloody Valentine
Jan 16 2026

This is not music to my ears. On Nothing Is it sounded like stuck on a scratch vinyl.

Rid Of Me by PJ Harvey
Jan 21 2026

Not my kind of music, but some interesting lyrics

Aja by Steely Dan
Jan 27 2026
Ghosteen by Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds
Jan 28 2026

A bit too down for me.

Now I Got Worry by The Jon Spencer Blues Explosion
Jan 29 2026

Instrumentally, I might've given it a 2, but the vocals made it worse.

Joan Armatrading by Joan Armatrading
Feb 10 2026

Good memories! Hadn't listened to this album in ages!

Django Django by Django Django
Feb 11 2026

Really enjoyed this. I was immediately reminded of the Beach Boys at the start of the album and later into it, some beats that just made me want to get up and dance. Nice vocals!

Purple Rain by Prince
Feb 16 2026

Another artist gone too soon. His music grabs you.

Synchronicity by The Police

I bought this album the day it came out. Still think it's one of Neil Young's best.

Ananda Shankar by Ananda Shankar

I liked it less as it went on. This is a generous 4

Tea for the Tillerman by Cat Stevens
Jun 09 2026

This album takes me back to 1971. Almost everyone I knew had this album by that summer. Glad it popped up here, it's definitely a keeper.

Music From Big Pink by The Band
Jun 15 2026

The Weight, Chest Fever and I Shall Be Released push it up to a 5.

Cupid & Psyche 85 by Scritti Politti

Quintessential Reggae

Brothers In Arms by Dire Straits
Jul 08 2026

A masterpiece! On your scale, it should be a 10 or 20. Hadn't listened to it in a while and was glad to be reminded what a great album it is. My cat loved it, too.

Figure 8 by Elliott Smith
Jul 13 2026

Pleasantly surprised by his album. Too bad he offed himself at such a young age.

Halcyon Digest by Deerhunter
Jul 22 2026

I enjoyed listening to this album I was totally unfamiliar with. A pleasant surprise!
