Not my usual kind of vibe but solid album if a little repetitive. Only song I’d heard before was Killing Me Softly which isn’t even one of the best songs on the album in my opinion. Definitely worth another listen to catch the lyrics more.
Sounds like the soundtrack of an American road trip, one with highways through deserts and plains and valleys and whatever. I’m not American and also cannot drive but I have a great imagination. Ultimately not an album I would reach for but one that I don’t mind listening to.
First song I was not vibing with but this is my reminder to just give it a second and withhold my judgement for more than one song because the album really grew on me and I kind of came to love it. Good songs, good vibe - good album.
Yeah I didn’t like this. I could respect some of the instrumental work which is why I’m giving it a grudging 2 stars but the vocals did nothing for me and in fact just kind of pissed me off. I just feel like there was so much to work with here but not enough was done with it
Didn’t really do much for me. Felt like the same song over and over and not a particularly good song at that
Not something I’d usually listen to and something I probably won’t listen to again but it was fun while it lasted!
Radiohead just always does it for me. Truly great album - what more can I say
Nobody told me Iggy Pop was bop after bop. Proper boogie material I loved it.
Fairly inoffensive but just boring. I liked some songs more than others but I don’t think I’d ever choose this as an album to put on.
Weird. And weird doesn’t always mean bad but unfortunately, in this case, it does in fact mean bad. Didn’t get on with this at all really.
I’m learning things about myself. Namely, I do not like heavy metal.
Not necessarily bad songs but rather an absence of great songs. Just felt kind of meh about it.
Well wasn’t that just fun! Pleasantly surprised - album really grew on me as I was listening.
Liked this more than I thought I would but I still don’t think I’d choose to put this on. Works nicely as background music with its mellow vibe though.
Not a bad song on here - yeah yeah there’s an 11 minute instrumental jam and the album’s two hours long and there’s two versions of several songs - whatever, I don’t care, I loved it.
Couldn’t really get on with the vocals of this guy but I didn’t hate it so there’s that.
Now this is how you do a live album. Flawless. I want to be there and never leave.
I really wanted to love this but I just didn’t. It’s a shame because Everybody Wants To Rule The World is genuinely a perfect song in my mind and I liked Shout and Head Over Heels but everything else fell flat for me.
I wasn’t expecting much because I’d never heard of Rufus Wainwright and the album cover is a strange one but this really sort of hooked me. Interesting and beautiful.
Didn’t really do much for me. Felt familiar but nothing special - I feel like if I wanted to listen to this kind of music, then there’s better artists to listen to.
I don’t care how annoying this makes me, I love this album.
I can see why people don’t like this but it’s just so fun that I can’t help but love it. Good vibes.
Fine, amusing at times but gets a bit repetitive.
I liked the songs but they just felt a bit too steady? Like go crazy guys, you’re allowed to rock out!! Also wanna shoutout the brass in Girl because I loved that.
I tried to have an open mind but bad music unfortunately shuts my mind right up.
Funky. I would imagine it’s good for sauntering around downtown - will probably try it out sometime.
Two songs over 20 minutes long where one man has played and recorded all the instruments is a cry for help if I ever heard one. And the growling and howling and god knows what else noises in Tubular Bells Pt.2 cemented my opinion on this point. Despite that I quite enjoyed this and I’ve come to respect this guy and his endeavours, because like why not
Was quite impressed by this since it was a long one but it kept me engaged. Not so much a fan of the more grungy songs on here but there was a good mix.
I can be quite a fan of orchestral stuff but for some reason I wasn’t a fan of this and I really wanted to be because hello the penguin cafe orchestra, can it get any more fun than that !?!
There were some good songs on here but my overall listening experience was lessened by the other crap on here.
Flute goes hard af. Thought it was a little treat when it popped up in Cross-Eyed Mary and then it just kept coming back? Incredible. Highlight of the album.
3 stars for now because I need to listen again because lyrics like these deserved to be listened to again and again.
Don’t really have anything to say. Fairly inoffensive. Not Rod Stewart at his best but not at his worst either I guess.
Albums in another language are tricky to click with. Wasn’t a huge fan.
Like an odd song now and then from here could be ok but an hour straight makes me want to cry a little bit.
I appreciated this but feel like Paul could have put a bit more welly in it. Like how about some more expression and variation in the vocals?
I do just wanna shoutout the bass in You Can Call Me Al, like a minute before the end because that little groove gave me life.
Sounds like my dad’s car. I don’t hate it but I can’t say I love it either. Not a huge synth fan.
An interesting album but just not as interesting when you compare it to other Radiohead albums.
Mariah Carey really worked her magic with this shite.
Was fine enough in the background so I guess that tells you everything you need to know. Good music demands to be more than background music.
Incredible vibes. My aim is to become cool enough to listen to this without people laughing at me
Classic 80s rock which unfortunately I am not a fan of. I say unfortunately not because I regret my taste but because this was an hour long album.
You know what, I fuck with country. And this was country but nothing special so three stars from me.
I didn’t listen to the whole album but I think that’s excusable because hello 4 hours long. But I do know and love Ella Fitzgerald and what an incredible voice so 4 stars
It’s a Tuesday so the stars are aligning.
I liked this a lot more than I thought I would. Quite a lot of different things going on but hey I was entertained!
Sorry no thank you I did not like this
Like cool but just didn’t grab me in any way.
Familiar fun indie hell yeah
Best of both worlds with big band and ballads - perfection
Love the album cover but music left quite a bit to be desired for me personally. Still, I feel I need to go strutting round town listening to this.
Nothing wrong with the actual music - in fact, it’s quite impressive as a live album. The problem is the length of the album since it just becomes boring no matter your Van Morrison tolerance.
Not very heavy for heavy metal but that suits me just fine. Still, nothing really seemed to stand out for me? I couldn’t name a single track after listening or differentiate tracks from one another but maybe that’s just me
Such an autumnal album and I hold a deep appreciation for autumn. Unfortunately not autumn right now so will have to revisit
Now I quite like a guitar but this was a lot and got boring real fast and I don’t know, I was expecting something revolutionary the way people bang on about this guy? Layla is a great song obviously but I knew that before listening to over an hour of this.
This is just so beautiful that it makes me want to cry.
I’m sorry Norah Jones, this bored the pants off of me. Don’t Know Why was the highlight and that was the first track so yeah this was a struggle.
I really wanted to like this because I’ve heard nothing but good things about The Replacements but unfortunately this was really underwhelming for me. The only song that stood out for me was Androgynous, everything else left no impression on me at all.
I do not understand how this made it onto the list. Didn’t make my ears bleed but was just meh.
Music as crap as the album cover.
Gotta love a harmonica but, Bob, sometimes I would say less is more. Less is more is also something that maybe could have been applied to Desolation Row
Didn’t really realise how much Coldplay has changed over the years. Really enjoyed this, never understood the Coldplay hate
Solid album, maybe would be better if I could understand the lyrics but they sound pretty repetitive so maybe I’m not missing much. Interesting mix of styles and adds a variety to list which it very much needs
I’m so mad people are giving this low ratings. Take the stick out your ass and belt some Adele, you’ll feel better I promise.
Hell yeah liked this a lot more than I was expecting
Just hooting and hollering but fairs because Highway to Hell is a banger
Tom mate clear your throat, cough it out. I don’t get this guy and if that makes me uneducated or unsophisticated or someone with bad taste then so be it, I can’t listen to this without wanting to remove my ears
Reminds me of an indie club which I’m not mad about. Take me out clears the rest though
Funky and strange and I was lowkey rocking with it until I began to become very bored
Like yeah pretty fun but I can’t work out if I like the way this guy sings or not. Was starting to piss me off but then became kind of a vibe?
This is probably pretty cool if you know anything about playing a guitar which I don’t so the brilliance (if any) was kind of lost on me. Just a lot of screeching from both guitars and people.
Nothing special, pretty inoffensive. Honestly didn’t leave any kind of impression on me so I don’t really know what to say.
Just not really sure what occasion or audience this is for. Had much fun staring at the cover and making my eyes go funny though!!
Very few albums with a track list this good, of course it was going to be five stars
Jungleland is the campest song I’ve heard in a hot minute and I loved every second of it.
Hell yeah. I would say however that it’s a little long which isn’t normally a problem for me but because it’s hip hop and so obviously uses a lot of repetitive beats and riffs, I struggled towards the end.
Cool if you like nineties grunge, alt-rock, but I’m undecided whether I do or don’t, I seem to get quite bored of it pretty quickly. Idk man how bout two stars.
Am I a bad person with a bad music taste if I admit that this bored me? Obviously Frankie’s a legend but this body of work did not do it for me
Haters gonna hate, but, personally, I’m loving the fun of the fun lovin’ criminals. Why not put rap in places it shouldn’t be, over any track you can possibly find? Respect.
A bit of a mess but the energy was there!!
I respect the blues but I can’t say I enjoy them much.
I’m getting the feeling that Joni Mitchell is going to be very important to me when I’m an older woman going through some shit but right now I admire from a distance.
Beautiful and I appreciate it but I can’t say it engaged me entirely. Probably a me problem because Miles Davis is the goat.
Was initially not having fun but then the album sort of changed my mind so that’s a plus. Still unsure if the interesting stuff outweighs the uninteresting stuff - maybe worth another listen
Just realised I’m not sure that I like David Bowie musically. The guy’s a total legend and I appreciate that this is his last album but what the hell is this.
I prefer my Elvis to be Austin Butler personally. This guy’s alright though, easy listening.
Jeez could they find any bass lines and rhythms more monotonous if they tried. Have to admit it wasn’t as bad as I was expecting given the tasteless album cover but I remain unimpressed - some songs started off promising but just trailed into bleh.
Bring back britpop I love this shit
Definitely not the worst thing I’ve ever heard but then again not something I would ever choose to listen to again so that’s not much of a recommendation I guess.
Interesting and extra points for whimsy but couldn’t really engage with it to be honest.
