1001 Albums Summary

Still like Doolittle more, although Velouria is their best song.

Some absolutely classic gems. Probably Clapton’s best work. Also, some long boring blues numbers.

Might have been my first exposure to REM. I love the IRS albums too, but this production on this when you can hear the vocals is better. This album begins my favorite era of this amazing band.

I appreciate some of his music, but I was kind of bored by this album.

Amazing side one. One of the best sides ever. The side two is mediocre.

so glad I did the steep dive. I’ve never listened to this album full because it’s so long I didn’t and I didn’t think I’d like it, but biggie‘s flow is unparallel and some of the lyrics make you flat out laugh. It’s probably still a bit too long, but too many skits in between songs, but I can understand the reverence for it now.

His best and most consistent album.

The reviews here are crazy. This is a masterpiece album. The cultural appropriation that accusations are way over blown. He’s branching out from Simon & Garfunkel and isn’t afraid to try a lot of different things. Some of them worked, some of them not so much, but this album really shows him growing as an artist.

There’s a certain level of weird I would go to, and this is beyond that. It’s like Queen mixed with a the B-52’s, only not as good as either. I disliked it from the very first song, which I heard is their most well-known one. That was true. It only got worse from there.

Is this a joke? Why would anyone need to listen to this?

His best album. Such a great collection of songs.

Instant classic. Adam Granduciel is a genius. His next two albums are also very good.

Essential album. One of the best three song stretches ever to open side two.

Seriously? This is crap! Brimful of Asha is fun for five minutes. It is definitely not fun for 55 minutes.

This is why you do this project. I have heard about tios album but would probably never voluntarily listen to it just based on the album title. It’s more fun and less esoteric thank I would have imagined.

It’s perfectly fine music to pick up your prescriptions to. She has a great voice. But I’m not sure why it’s here. It’s not innovative or groundbreaking or influential in any way.

Some absolute bangers on this album. Maybe a few too many musical interludes.
