1001 Albums Summary

Style of music sadly just not my bag. Some minor Dylan-esque parts, but mostly just that style of American music isn’t a favourite.

Awesome! Some classic bangers after a few samey songs at the start. A very long album but enjoyable all the way through.

Just not my style, sadly. Not sure why.

Banger overall. Some tracks aren’t as polished as I’d like.

Really enjoyed the craziness. Not what I was expecting.

Just no.

Nooo

Really enjoyed it. Nice ska-ish sound.

Banger

Nah. He’s a bawbag.

Rocking. Cool vibes, but some a little samey. 4.5

Shite

3.75. Many songs a little throwaway, but no rubbish.

Ok, but a bit samey and not quite my thing

Nah

Just not a jazz fan

4.5. Cracker. Some songs less banging than others.

Ok. Mostly good. Clearly a raw, personal album.

Nah

Ok but just eminently forgettable.

Banger

Just not my thing

Umm.

Just not my thing

Me no like reggae.

Loved it. Seaside song the best. 4.5

Only OK. Couldn’t get into it.

Musically ‘good’ but too sweaty, racist, violent, deep-south feeling. Not my cuppa T.

Pink Moon is my favourite, but this is up there. A touch melancholy at times, and sublime at others.

I like it, but 3.5 because I can’t understand his voice. I don’t find it annoying like others though.

It’s alreet.

Ehhh. It’s inoffensive.

Really nice. Cracking voice. Feels like music you’d need to be in the mood for, though, sadly.

Samey and meh.

Fascinating but also quite depressing. Unlikely to relisten.

Not my cup of tea.

Some of it is cool, Talking Heads-y, most is too weird.

Inoffensive but not my thing.

Nah. He’s a bag of fucking shit.

It bangs. Cracking guitar and drums.

Uhh, it was OK. Not great. Some songs had to be skipped, others were vaguely enjoyable.

Bang. XYU is the only bad song.

Horrifically meh.

2.5. Two good ones, but the rest do nothing for me.

Pretty meh for an Arcade Fire album.

Pretty enjoyable, but not so much that I’d be likely to relisten. A little too polished, somehow.

3.5. Not as good as you want it to be, but gas some great tunes. Quite like Cherry Ghost.

I like it, but it’s not the kind of thing I’d typically listen to. 3.5.

What the banana sandwiches!? It’s like someone sharted into a mic!

Mostly just weird.

Mehhhhhhhhh

Me liked it. Enjoyable, with a couple of heavy hittrrs too.

Not my thing.

Pretty boring tbh. Sorry. Brimful of Asha rocks.

Really enjoyed it. Great background music.

Bang.

Quite enjoyable but also quite throwaway.

Beh

It banged. Sounds so modern!

It’s … not good. Something for the weekend is by far the standout.

Enjoyed it. Not sure how often I would be inclined to listen to it though. 3.5

Just no.

It’s very samey. But I do like Rod Stewart.

I think it’s a good un. My listening has just been so disjointed and I need to move on.

It’s fun to listen to, but quite samey. Not crap like modern rap sounds to me.

Nah. It all sounds the same.

Sorry. I find it boring and ever so samey.

Sorry. The Doors just give me the ick. I don’t know why.

I really love some of it, but not all.

Relatively enjoyable if not a lottle repetitive. I agree that it’s odd to find it on this list - although it isn’t the first within this subcategory.

Really liked it. 4.5

Liked it a lot. Didn’t loove it.

It’s meh. I’ll give it that. I imagine it’s what dying in a warm bath feels like.

It’s very … eclectic. In this case, eclectic mostly means crap.

Good. Enjoyable. Banana sandwiches.

Oh hells naw.

I like that people like it; it should be liked. I don’t like it.

Noooooo

Pish

Pretty good. Deserves a closer relisten.

Not my thing.

Most songs sound like they were made for an animated film about a plucky giraffe. It’s just … meh, with the exception of Shake It Off. 2.5

I ‘hate rap,’ but this was awesome. No n**** b**** f*** crap.

Me likey. I think it’d have to be background music, if you weren’t at the concert. 3.5-4.

:(

Whaaaa? It’s the same song.

Whaaaaa??? This be garbagio.

Solid album. Only Voodoo Doll is shit.

Not a winner.

Nah. Not a metal guy. I tried.

It’s … ok. I don’t think I like them as much as I thought I did.

Yes, the guy is a massive sack. Honestly, I have removed the man from the music, and this album was formative for me. It’s my favourite ever album.

I like it, but my listening has been disjointed. Definitely worth a revisit. 3.5-4.

Started great, but it tails off and Poledo kinda ruins it.

10/5. One of my absolute favourites. So much of my adolescence is here.

Enjoyable, but really not what I’d typically choose to listen to.

🤮

Very meh.

Decidedly meh. So meh.

80 puppies of awesomeness.

Many of the songs bang bang, but not all bang.

I think 3.5. I enjoy it, but would I add it to a listening list? No.

Pretty awesome. One of the few jazz records I like.

Yawnyyyyy. Boring, feels incomplete.

It's just ok. I like it, but it’s not the cat’s pyjamas.

While some of the songs are a little underdeveloped, perhaps, I still love this album as a whole.

Very nice, but just very nice. I think you have to be in the mood to appreciate it further.

Some nice songs, but has always been only OK to me.

5/5 nae danger. Just a candle of my youth.

It’s … ok. Some songs are classics, but most are forgettable. 3.5.

No thank you.

Me likey. Definitely one I have listened to before and will again.

Liked it. Would definitely play again. 4.3

Not quite my cup of tea. A bit creepy in places, and they should have had a better singer.

Loved 1, 2 was creepy.

Whaaa??

Sadly, it’s a pity 3. I love Dolly, and we have just lost her. However, these songs feel very dated, slow, and depressing.

Nawww

Didn’t do much for me.

I mean … I can listen to it. Do I want to listen to it? Not really, no. It’s simply too repetitive.

Feels like a reluctant 3.5. Most is not great, but good enough to sometimes cause a toe tap.

Sorry, but I think it’s very meh.

Most of the album is filler. Decidedly meh.

Rock.

Second half is pretty damn throwaway, but the first half is fun. Insanity lyrics.

I bet those who like it like it.

Why?

Mehhh.

Y to the awn.

?????

I really wanted to like it, but I just couldn’t get there.

I’m gonna rate 5, but it’s a solid 4.5. Would be happy to listen to again.

There’s a reason why I’ve only ever listened to the ‘best ofs.’ This is shite. And the ‘Indian’ song is particularly horrific.

Sorry. I know it’s ‘meh’ but I really like it.

Three of the songs are truly listenable. I think it’s a 2, maybe because it gets a point because of the accent (and I feel a wee bit homesick just now).

Soooo verrryyy depresssssing. I like music that is evocative, but I don’t wish to evoke the grave.

Depressing music week. This is not my bag.

I so wanted to like it - and it has some good pulls - but it was just a little too out there to consider a relisten.

How about “gently prod rock & roll?” The first half is enjoyable, the second half is decidedly meh.

Love the ‘main’ songs, but I can definitely take or leave the rest. They’re a bit dark and unappealing.

Again, those who like it, like it.

Too quiet, disjointed, muddy, boring. Sorry. Would a remix help?

Some songs a bit too sparse and morose, but it is like a soundtrack, and is captivating.

Too überhipster. He’d get more traction if he didn’t ham it up.

Not really my cup of tea. Some good songs, but a bit gooey for me.

I like There She Goes a ton, but most of the rest is filler. The album isn’t strong enough to carry itself, and gets particularly weak by the end.

So very meh.

Some enjoyable smidgens, but a little too out there for me.

Ehh it’s ok.

It’s … fine. Most songs are pretty boring.

I’m not interested in listening to this.

Not ‘classic’ Beatles, imo, but an enjoyable phase on the way to it. Ruined utterly by the fucked up Run For Your Life, though.

Don’t hate it. Don’t like it enough.

I thought I liked The Who. This thingy is telling me otherwise

Hate rap. Hate n**** m********* b**** rap even more. Did this help the black cause? It’s horrible.

I dunno. I honestly don’t think it’s that strong. 3.5.

Too messy and ‘hard’ for me. 2.5

Very meh. If it really took 40 years to release, I’d expect more finished songs.

Funkrific. Good to listen to while cooking or something like that. 4.5

Some is knee-tapable, but most is boring, overly repetitive, and a little morose.

Loved!

Loved it! A cross between Cocteau Twins and Lightning Seeds.

So understated it’s barely there.

Not my cup of tea. A little too messy and disjointed-feeling.

The guy’s a sack, but I’ve loved his tunes since I was a kid. I own this album. 4.5

Why is this here? It’s awful.

Quite enjoyable but also quite samey. 3.5

Not unenjoyable, but not captivating. 3.5.

Beautiful voice, and strong songs. I sometimes wish they were slightly less lovefelt! A solid 4.5.

Enjoyable, but just too heavy for me. Maybe it would fit a specific mood. She is a cracking singer.

Yeah … no. Too much for my head to cope with.

Like it a lot, but I think you have to be in the mood for it.

Ehhhh. It’s ok, but feels dated.

A fairly strong 3.5. Enjoyable but also largely forgettable.

Such a weird mix. Half enjoyable/Tom Jones-y, half super out there and somewhat morose. 3

Loved it. Not my typical cup of tea, but really nice to listen to. 4.5

I don’t know. I don’t dislike it, but I find it very meh.
