favourite song: celebrity skin least favourites: malibu, dying the high points of this album were a lot of fun but unfortunately arent sustained for the whole of the album. falls flat at a lot of moments but overall an enjoyable listen. honourable mention to playing your song. if i could give half stars it would be 3.5 but i cant and its closer to a 3 than a 4

favourite song: M62 Song least favourite song: last broadcast was already a big fan of kingdom of rust so had high expectations for this album that werent quite met. all the songs kinda sound the same but thats not too bad since they sound pretty good and the album doesn’t seem to drag despite being nearly an hour long.

favourite song: she watch channel zero!? im a sucker for 80s hip hop it turns out, really enjoyed this album.

favourite song: perfect day the velvet underground are my favourite band of all time (i wish i could change my review of their debut to give it 5 rather than 4) but ive never really touched any of lou reed’s solo work before this. went into this expecting to love it and absolutely did. feels like a very natural progression from loaded full of poppy and radio friendly moments, but without feeling limited to this style like VU were on that album. easily a 5/5 and incredibly difficult to pick a favourite song. couldve been any of them tbh but settled on perfect day (largely because i already loved it and i am a huge fan of trainspotting). unsurprisingly theres no least favourite here.

favourite song: 10 mile stereo really enjoyed this album, especially fond of 10 mile stereo where its at (arguably) its most shoegaze-y and really gets noisy. reminiscent of galaxie 500 (a favourite of mine) at some moments. truly a very solid album and one i think will grow on me with repeat listens

kinda conflicted with this. it rocks and is undeniably cool and up my street but its not really grabbed me. somewhere between a 3 and a 4 if im being honest. nice to have a live album that really feels like a live album, especially so soon after listening to the thin lizzys live and dangerous which felt super flat.

favourite song: bodies kinda torn on this one. on the one hand i want to call them a manufactured punk rock boy band and say that id rather be listening to “real” punk. on the other hand the songs (for the most part) are very good and while definitely not on the level of what other punk bands and artists were doing at the same time and since, it does hold up. 3.5 would be fair but since theres no half stars and im in a good mood its getting a 4.

favourite song: i know its over i used to firmly believe that i didnt like the smiths. then i listened to this album after a difficult breakup and i finally got it. 5/5

favourite song: 2:1 really dont get so many reviewers on here’s apparent aversion to britpop. this is fun! its cool! sure maybe they ripped off wire. but wire are great! surely sounding like wire is a good thing. unrelated to this album since it is undoubtedly britpop but i see so many reviews lambasting albums for being britpop that just are not britpop. people hate britpop without knowing what it is. anyway, 4 stars!

wow! id been meaning to listen to this for ages and wow! so good, not quite a 5 but definitely one of the strongest 4s ive given.

often find myself forgetting just how good this record is. truly a phenomenal achievement in music. when i was younger i had an unknown pleasures t shirt but to ensure everyone knew i was cooler than them i got one with the colours inverted. once got into a heated discussion with a housemate when it transpired at pres that we were both planning on wearing our unknown pleasures t shirts for a night out. one of us had to change, and in the end i relented. anyway, perfect album, 5/5, favourite songs: day of the lords, interzone.

listened while walking around manchester in the sun. had an orange calippo. and a greggs.

last year i had a season ticket to burnley fc and developed a tradition of listening to pulp (and in particular this album) on my way to games. for those that dont follow football: we did very very well. this year i havent had a season ticket and have not listened to pulp on the way to the few games ive made it to. weve been absolute dross. great album though.

i try not to write off any genres completely but im yet to listen to a prog album that doesnt make me come out in a rash. i have some sort of physical aversion to this tripe.
