I'm surprised by my high rating if this album. The interlude and final track are responsible for moving this from a 2 to a 3

The music that is there is good. I wouldn't listen to the back half again.

There's a lot to love about this album. Joni's voice, though impressive and befitting a rainy summer cottage, isn't something I want to listen to regularly. 4.5 stars for personal vocal preferences.

Maybe the most fun sounds to open an album. If it were all instrumental I'd say this is 3 star lobby music, but the lead vocals do not do it for me. I Can't Help Myself is pretty fun.. but none of the songs really dare to become a great time overall.

She has such a great voice. It feels like she lacked a great producer because this album is all over the place and I barely enjoy a single song. It's a shame. She could probably do a cover of any already great song and meet or exceed the experience. Can't deny drrty and beautiful though. 2-3 rats

Another great Beatles album. Some real hits here, but also a lot of what sounds like radio filler. I guess that's my trouble with the Beatles: they just have so many songs at some point I can't care about them anymore. They end up sounding like the Beatles.

Pretty awful start. Some good songs though. Fuck shit up and Can't stop. Guy reminds me of Jim Morrison, but the lyrics aren't anything and the mix is quiet for vocals. Some good rock noise but also some pretty painful sounds. Probably won't ever revisit.

Just a fun album. Great vocals and noodling. Too similar to Spinal Tap and too many covers to warrant a higher rating

Wicked base - just not enough of it

Lovely voice. Boring band. Unwholesome lyrics wrapped in conservative music. What Johnny Cash did for Hurt, maybe NIN could do for Loretta Lynn's backing band.

Feels like a very long intro to a song like Kuiper by Floating Points, but it never gets anywhere. I guess that's the true ambient genre - one you have to already be in the mood for. I was not. I guess the history lesson is nice. 1974! Berlin's been weird a long time. But if history is the reason to listen, then the first album recording wolf howls better be on here.

Every song is a winner. A song about an architect that is just as comforting and unique as the buildings themselves? Amazing.

Bunch of hits - even flo the winner. I've listened to this album and rear view mirror enough that I should give it a 5, but it's no longer my favourite sound. The vocals are almost comical now and I hate that I can't hear the lyrics clearly. 4-5 rats.

Not really my jam, but glad to hear new sounds to me. Would be happy to come across this while sunning boat side, but I can't recall exactly what I've heard only just a few hours ago. 2-3 rats.

Really enjoyed this squeaky pop punk

Great voice. Don't care for the smooth Jazz instrumentals. No denying that Sweet Love and Same Ole Love are awesome. Probably won't ever listen to this album again

I loved this genre I'm high school. There is some love there still, but as the album went on I grew bored then annoyed with the repetition. I guess the love is lost now

Wasn't drunk enough at karaoke to really enjoy this album. Can't deny the hits though.

Glad I waited for the end of the album where the bangers are: Jacque and about funk. Unique and fun. Not my favourite beeps but I enjoyed them. 3 boops

I don't get it. But siege if power is alright and the surprise electric guitar in polluted mind is fun. The gremlin singing in the back half is hilarious. Looked up the lyrics because they are incomprehensible. Typical themes from the genre. I'm surprised at how much I like the punchiness of the lines. Weird that they bother with rhyming couplets when they're recited through a vuvuzela. Glad I listened to it before I died. Would not listen again. 1 rat.

As the kids say "mid" 90s alt rock. I never heard these songs before so they lack any nostalgic appeal. As a result, the sound is plainly generic. Could be a traveling cover band for the Barenaked ladies or counting Crows. I don't hate it, but there just isn't anything to grab on to. 2 rats.

Sunshine of your love is great. But I just do not get what is going on with these songs. World of Pain... The poetry blows, the style doesn't match the theme, and the signing sounds like me... Which is damning.

Ugh. Live albums. Didn't care for the 7 minute drum solo. Smoke in the water is undeniable though. 2 rats

Guess I'm just getting old and looking for more than soundscapes. Moss garden, sounds like a Moss garden. Sense of doubt sound sounds like a sense of doubt. Nuekoln sounds like... Anyway overall feels like a rudderless 12th album where everyone would agree to do anything. V2 Schneider and heroes are big winners. 2-4 rats. 4 because it's all still interesting. 2 because I'm just not interested.

Sitar covers. Sounds a bit like karaoke versions of songs. Raghupati is the best God rock that comes to mind. A lot of sitar. 2-3 rats

Couldn't listen to this when I was younger - too threatened by the tune. The angry and kind of dangerous tone is something I can handle and I'm surprised by just how fun and funky most of these tunes are. Great variety too.

Great album, but over time it now feels over produced and safe. Sort of played out. I remember really liking it when I first heard it but that feeling is gone. 4 rats

The hits are good. Just too few of them. The rest mostly sounds the same - bland love songs. Soda Pop stands out as the worst attempt to stretch into a different genre. While The Beat Goes On was surprisingly enjoyable. Her voice is amazingly mature for her age. 2 rats

Sometimes hits a feeling that Radiohead delivers in every song, but a lot of it just made me sad and bored. And not a reflective sad, just a don't want to be here sad. So, some good. 2-3 rats.

My god. There's a lot of "80s" music that got pumped out and made it on this list. But this is incredible. What a powerful album. I can now hear all of the other bands of this period trying to achieve this experience. 5 rats, genre topping.
