At Folsom Prison by Johnny Cash
Dec 22 2025

This was fun, I’ve never listened to JC before. I knew one song, albeit from TikTok.

After The Gold Rush by Neil Young
Dec 23 2025

I enjoyed Southern Man, but would skip the majority of the album in the future.

Odessey And Oracle by The Zombies
Dec 29 2025

Seemed Beatles adjacent, but I was pleasantly surprised by how many songs I actually knew. Impressive album in terms of how many hits are still played today.

Vespertine by Björk
Dec 31 2025

Not something I particularly cared for.

In Rainbows by Radiohead
Jan 01 2026

Very final song in an episode of the OC. Chill and cool but not my thing.

Paul Simon by Paul Simon
Jan 05 2026

Not someone who has ever been on my radar, but I really enjoyed this. 3.5

Raising Hell by Run-D.M.C.
Jan 06 2026

I understand why the Abbott Elementary teachers were horrified that their kids had never heard of Run DMC

Nixon by Lambchop
Jan 07 2026
Raw Power by The Stooges
Jan 08 2026

Not my thing at all :\

Arc Of A Diver by Steve Winwood

Good vibes. Nothing overly notable though

Achtung Baby by U2
Jan 22 2026

lots of classic singles from my childhood

Purple Rain by Prince
Jan 23 2026

opening with let's go crazy and closing with purple rain, holy shit. also, this is pretty obviously a 5-star album from the jump despite never having heard it in its entirety.

Tommy by The Who
Jan 26 2026

fine, some highlights (pinball wizard). not something I'd listen to on my own 2.5

Out Of The Blue by Electric Light Orchestra

album is too long and the best song was the only song I'd already heard 2 stars

good stuff is good, others not so much...

Phaedra by Tangerine Dream
Feb 11 2026

wilddddddddddddddddddddd, feels like tripping

A Northern Soul by The Verve
Feb 13 2026

all I know by the verve is bittersweet symphony, so this was interesting. unfortunately when you already know their best song, there's not as much excitement with the rest

Back To Black by Amy Winehouse
Feb 18 2026

perfection — I've never actually listened to the entire album, but boy, what a gift!

Feb 19 2026

some good tracks/vibes, though the best song was a deluxe uk track?

The Gershwin Songbook by Ella Fitzgerald
Feb 23 2026

longgggggggggggggggggggg but I enjoyed the sound overall. made it through disk 2, then just listened to the remaining songs with high play counts. standouts include: let's call the whole thing off

Back At The Chicken Shack by Jimmy Smith
Feb 24 2026

right off the bat, why are these songs so long??? 5 minutes in, I get it. I'm at the chicken shack, if I think about it, the songs seemingly go on forever, but I don't actually notice because the music is good and the vibes are right, that's life, baby. I'm enjoying myself. 4 stars.

Homework by Daft Punk
Feb 25 2026

I feel like I am listening to the z103.5 drive at 5 street mix. Not my fave, but there are some classics, though I am used to hearing much shorter versions of them when they're being mixed. Other notes: - Around the World is so much longer than I realized - Rock n Roll hurt my brain, and I hope to never hear it again - This whole album makes me feel like I'm in space in the 90s - Alive had me nodding my head a bit Easy listening, but overall not quite my tempo (iykyk). 2.5

A Walk Across The Rooftops by The Blue Nile
Feb 26 2026

interestinggggggggg, the instrumentals were nice. chill vibes overall. I liked heatwave best, or maybe it's just the one I took notice of while I worked?

Feb 27 2026

I love this so much. I obviously knew the singles as a kid, but I have never listened to this album in its entirety.

Who's Next by The Who
Mar 02 2026

not my tempo. 2.5

Mar 04 2026

much longer than I wanted, but pretty enjoyable listening overall

Cross by Justice
Mar 05 2026

mostly fun, top 1001 album worthy though? questionable

Dirty by Sonic Youth
Mar 11 2026

not quite my tempo

Beggars Banquet by The Rolling Stones
Mar 12 2026

fine, I just don't care???

Time Out Of Mind by Bob Dylan
Mar 13 2026

Good thing Timmy Chalamet has pissed me off because I can't stand Bob Dylan and wouldn't want to have to suffer through that BD movie

Aladdin Sane by David Bowie
Mar 17 2026

weird and iconic. I get it.

Crosby, Stills & Nash by Crosby, Stills & Nash
Mar 19 2026

This was good. Something I'd love if it was more recent. I'll have to remember to come back to this. 3.5

Oxygène by Jean-Michel Jarre
Mar 20 2026

Songs were a little long, but this is relatively inoffensive background music. Top 1001 albums of all time? Idk about that. I feel like I'm Ryan Gosling in space, this was chillllllllll

Illinois by Sufjan Stevens
Mar 23 2026

this felt...... long. Chicago is such a standout, and the only song I knew going into this album. I wish more of the album sounded like that. I don't think I'd ever listen to this again in full.

Urban Hymns by The Verve
Mar 24 2026

it's hard when you have an iconic hit that is known by all, regardless of what type of music they're typically into. this started off with a bang and then faded into background music for me. 2.5

Orbital 2 by Orbital
Mar 26 2026

idk, this was released when I was 1, so it's not for me. weird, yes. cool, maybe? the last song made me feel like I was going insane. I'm once again questioning how these 1001 albums were selected.

Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers by Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers
Mar 27 2026

foot tapping after the first few notes, automatic +1 star. not as good as I was hoping it would be, american girl is the clear stand out. 3 stars.

Mar 30 2026

first song had me tapping my feet. I get the RC hype (sorry for not getting it before, this was way before my time and not something I grew up listening to). 3.5

Debut by Björk
Mar 31 2026

there is more to life than this sounds like I am in the club; I am obsessed.

3 + 3 by The Isley Brothers
Apr 01 2026

vibey, great sound, fun. I can't stand when albums put all the remixes and different versions at the end so eventually I did tune it out.

Deserter's Songs by Mercury Rev
Apr 02 2026

Briefly thought I was listening to Death Cab for a minute. Does Endlessly sample Silent Night??? Delta Sun Bottleneck Stomp >>>>>

Fisherman's Blues by The Waterboys
Apr 03 2026

We Will Not Be Lovers???? Holy shit. Blackbird mention??? This is actually so good, I got halfway through disk two without even realizing. Typically, I can't stand albums this long, but this is soooooooooo good. last song being 12 min is crazy, but I liked the album, so they're allowed this fauxpas

The New Pollution was played daily when I worked at the Gap in the early 2010s. Otherwise, not quite my tempo.

Perfect for my upcoming Portugal trip

Fever Ray by Fever Ray
May 22 2026

mehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh 2 stars

May 25 2026

Hey Ya is such an anomaly across both of these albums. I think they did too much here. 3 singles, that I can recall from back in the day across 2 albums? Not great odds. I guess Hey Ya was so big it doesn't matter? Idk, I expected to enjoy more than I did for a 2+ hour long album 2.5 and only because of Hey Ya

Anyday put the man in the moon, put the dial in the phone, put the grease on the wheel, put the sword in the stone

Bitches Brew by Miles Davis
Jun 03 2026

Objectively phenomenal, but this is something I'd put on in the background, not something I'd want to be actively listening to. 20+ minute songs aren't for the weak.

Head Hunters by Herbie Hancock
Jun 04 2026

jazz is a little too much for me

Oedipus Schmoedipus by Barry Adamson
Jun 10 2026

:\\\\\\\ Miles is SO good, and has to be a reference to Miles Davis, but the rest of this was soooooo creepy and I had to skip a bunch part way through.

Atomizer by Big Black
Jun 11 2026

1.5? Idk, it's not my thing
