A lot of disco influence in the album.
Maybe too many women crying and/or moaning on some of the tracks.
I had only heard 1999 and Little Red Corvette before.
I really enjoyed D.M.S.R as a dance track. His vocals and the beats are great throughout the album.
Overall a good album, but I don't think I'll be revisiting in full any time soon.
You can really feel the energy of the crowd on some of the tracks (Worry, Worry being a stand out for me).
He really does sing the fuck out of some blues.
I'm not too big on early hip hop with some exceptions. This album was pretty good; definitely feels like its part of a transition between late 80s "goofier" hip hop and early, basic rap, and the more violent gangster rap that emerged throughout the 90s. Some really good flow on the album.
My first Bob Dylan album. I enjoyed the folk music, but his voice leaves much to he desired sometimes and at other times it's a perfect fit.
I had never heard of this group before today and I am glad I had the chance to listen to this album. I didn't fully love it; the vocals were interesting, but my main focus was some of the great instrumentals.
I'm not a big fan of a lot of the Krautrock stuff. I find it extremely repetitive at times. I like a lot of the beats on this album, but repeating Trans Europe Express 500 times does not make for good lyrics.
I liked the singer's voice, but I could not stand some of the lyrics. I had never heard of this group before today and I'm glad I had a chance to check out something new, but overall I was not a fan and I won't be continuing with more of their discography.
My second favorite Lorde album (Pure Heroine is top). This is still a phenomenal album that is just chock full of great tracks.
Ah hell yeah, my second favorite Radiohead album (behind The Bends). A classic 90s album, that enjoy re-listening to quite often.
I had not heard this Steely Dan album; it was great. I have really come to appreciate them this past year.
Teenage me was big into all kinds of metal, but adult me thinks it's just okay most of the time. This was a good album though and I enjoyed the listen.
The album is saved for me by the songs Maps, Y Control, and Modern Romance. Otherwise, I found it to be an album that was not for me. I see this album recommended often and I don't fully understand why. I love their album "Cool It Down" and wish that one had more awareness.
My first Grateful Dead album. It was a nice experience and I'll be checking out more of their stuff in the near future. I heard American Beauty is great so they'll probably be next. My favorite song from the album was Turn on Your Love Light which I was informed was a cover.
I remember bouncing off this album after a few songs last year, but this time I was all in. Very good 90s UK sound.
This has been on my list for years now. I can't say that I enjoyed it that much. I think the album is much too long and I only really appreciated a handful of songs. I was only familiar with a few of their songs prior to this listen and I think I might enjoy some of their later albums a bit more if their sound changes some.
I only know the one Fatboy Slim song and always enjoyed it.
When I started the album, I thought it was going to be annoying hearing the same lyrics repeated over and over, but as it went along I started to enjoy it more and more.
It was a great listen for my Sunday morning errands.
Not for me, but I didn't hate the listen.
I did a deep dive on the Talking Heads a few months ago and I really enjoyed what heard. Truly a revolutionary musical group that was always pushing the boundaries. Good stuff.
I had never heard of this band before and I'm happy to have found them. Not every song on the album was my thing, but there's some really good tracks that had my foot stomping along.
Never really listened to any Garbage outside of the 4 hits they had. I didn't know what to expect, but this album was quite good.
I did not enjoy this album. I don't like country and this album didn't change my mind on the matter.
Enjoyable, but not entirely my thing.
This album has all my favorite Carole King songs and pretty much most of her hits. Good stuff, but I don't know if there's another album of hers that I'd be dying to listen to.
I had never heard of this group before. An enjoyable listen, but too long of an album with too many samey-sounding songs.
Was not a fan of this album. Everybody probably thinks Born to Run is the best track, but for my money, I'd take Tenth Avenue Freeze Out over it. Both good songs though.
I really dig this album. Good from beginning to end.
Ehh, very okay album. Purple Rain is his masterpiece IMO and these other albums have some good songs, but also a lot of filler for me.
Good, but not great for me.
Okay, but far from great. There are much better early 90s hip hop groups.
Amazing album, but honestly the first 6 or so Sabbath albums are all great.
I liked, but didn't love this album. Maybe too many similar sounding songs, but goddamn do I love Robert Smith's voice. Disintegratration is still their top album to me, but this was a nice album to hear their earlier sound.
I had never heard of this group before. Overall an enjoyable album and I'll be listening to some of their other albums in the near future. Finding new groups like this is my favorite part of this random album challenge.
Some great songs. Father and Son never fails to get an emotional response out of me. Love his voice.
It may be a tad too long and a few songs maybe aren't the best, but I love ELO from this era and this is probably their best album.
A lot of the songs felt too samey and while I appreciate the inclusion of a more recent alternative, electronic-pop type band, this album fell a bit flat for me.
I had never heard anything outside of Come On Eileen and I have to say there's some good stuff here. I can see why they weren't just one hit wonder in the UK.
Caught be by complete surprise. This is not the type of music I normally enjoy. Was pleasantly surprised.
I was bit nervous to get another Yeah Yeah Yeahs album so soon after not enjoying Fever to Tell very much, but I think this a group that has gotten better over time. Cool It Down is still my favorite album of their's, but this one really good as well.
Some really good instrumentals on the album, but I didn't really like the vocals much. Lake of Fire and Plateau were two stand outs, but that might just because I like those tracks from Nirvana's Unplugged performance on MTV.
I love the first 6 Sabbath albums. Vol. 4 is my favorite, but this is probably number 2.
Really solid album, especially for a debut. I think I like their second album better, but this one has a number of great tracks. 3.5
Not my favorite Bowie album, but a solid entry.
Not a bad album, just way too long for me.
Another group I had never heard about. I liked the album and it was something a little different.
This is why I signed up for this project. Awesome music from someone I had never heard about. Great vibes all throughout the album.
My favorite doors album. Everything except Whisky Bar is great.
A nice album. I like the singers voice and the tone, but I wasn't all in on it.
I enjoyed it. Really good for 80s hip hop, but the genre has come a long way since then.
This was my first Madonna album, I had only really listened to her hits beforehand. What an enjoyable album. Each song had a different, entertaining beat. It may be a little too long overall, but it was a fun ride and I can see why she was so popular in the 80s.
A nice variety of tunes on the album. Elvis isn't my favorite singer, but I can't deny he has a nice voice that works well for faster paced, upbeat songs as well as slower, more contemplative tunes.
I generally like music like this and there were some good songs on the album, but it left a lot to be desired and I think there are bands that do this music better. Might revisit in the future or check out another of their albums because there is some interesting stuff here.
I love her voice. The songwriting isn't anyways the best and his voice isn't always my thing, but it's a nice album to put on for a relaxing time.
One of my favorite 90s bands. Sucks about what happened. We're probably missing out on some good music.
Was waiting for an excuse to finally listen to this album and the Femmes in general. Good album.
I tried to like this album. I can appreciate some of the lyricism and even some of the musical ability, but boy did some of the repetition really test me. I don't think I'll be seeking out any more Ian Dury music.
Didn't love it. Didn't hate it. Might need to relisten to it some other time.
A group I had never heard of before. I was worried this list was going to be too much classic rock. This was a nice change of pace. Really enjoyed some of these songs. I'm going to have to check out more of their music.
Almost a little too twangy sounding for me, but some good music overall. I've mainly only listened to the hits from the Stones so it was good to hear a full album and some deeper cuts.
I relistened to the album today on a nice walk around my neighborhood. I thought this album was great months ago when I first heard it and I still thought it was great today. Bring on more of the jazz random album generator!
Really good album. I've really started to love Sade's work these past few months.
The first time I listened to this album, I did not really enjoy it. It may be one of the most overhyped hip hop albums of all time and I think I went in with too high of expectations. On this second listen, I liked it more, but I still don't think it's the masterpiece some people think it is.
Great voice and smooth jazz tones. I think I liked her album Solitude more, but I'm sure she made plenty of good albums.
I was expecting not to like this album since it was so late into Bowie's career, but I had a good time with it. Bowie is not my favorite musician, but this album was enjoyable enough.
I really enjoyed this album from an artist I had never heard of before today. I will definitely be listening to more of her work in the future.
Enjoyable, but it got a little samey after awhile.
I don't know if I would consider Thin Lizzy a must hear band in your lifetime, there are quite a number of 70s rock bands that sound similar. That being said this was a good album and if you're going to pick any Thin Lizzy album to include, this would be the one.
First Isaac Hayes album and had a good time. Nice smooth voice and good beats.
I've liked The Doors for so long, but had never gotten around to listening to this album in full. Very good album; I can see why some people call this their favorite.
A little too one note for my overall liking, but a good listen. Made me want to go watch a western (I did) and I enjoyed the song structure for a lot of the tracks.
This is the kind of early hip hop where I can appreciate it because of where it leads, but I don't really like it much. Beats are okay to good, but repeating the same lyrics over and over becomes tedious to listen to.
Another album that was way too overhyped IMO. Some good beats in here, but I don't love his lyrical style or cadence.
I had seen this group recommended online countless times, but never got around to listening to them, probably because their name is not that great. That was a mistake; I thoroughly enjoyed this album and will be seeking out more of their music.
I guess I'm just not a Stevie Wonder fan. He's very talented and I like some of his hits, but overall it's just not for me.
Really good album. It has damn all their hits and I feel like I'd heard every song except one multiple times before from radio play, etc. I liked the overall energy of the album.
