1001 Albums Summary

Better than I expected. Not a huge oasis fan, but I had never listened to an entire album of theirs before. Listening to Shakermaker felt like unlocking a core memory. It must have played on the radio when I was growing up as it conjured up memories of long road trips with the family. The album helps explain the hype of Oasis to me, as I think having only heard the hits I didn't really get it. Favorite Track: Shakermaker

This is my first time listening to S&G intentionally. I've avoided them for many years due to the only song of there's that anyone ever plays being sad and over played. The album as a whole is interesting. I wasn't prepared for the range of sounds. Since all I knew was 'Sounds of Silence', it felt like a nice reprieve to hear something else from them. Favorite Track: Keep the Customer Satisfied

It's been a minute since I listened to the album front to back, but it still slaps. Alanis really front loaded the bangers, but it's still a great listen. Favorite Track: All I Really Want

I don't really have a lot of say on this one. It's a good album, but I'm not sure if it hits for me. It may need another listen down the road for it to truly sink in. Favorite Track: The Chain

It's not as good as batman, but what is? Favorite Track: D.M.S.R.

Bad. Somehow worse than their disco, which I didn't think was possible.

Even though I listened to the entire album, it felt like I didn't. Nothing stuck out to me that wasn't already done by every other 80's artist.

He looks like one of the bad guys from The Goonies. Listening to this is like an exercise in trying to stay awake while being read the most intensely boring bedtime story you've ever had to endure.

You know, this album surprisingly holds up. I remember owning it as a kid, and I was thinking it wasn't going to be the same, but turns out making techno songs using blues samples does work. Favorite Track: Honey

Danzig vocals over AC/DC beats?

Not as bad as I thought it would be. Favorite Track: Highway 61 This song sounds like it could easily be a They Might Be Giants song.

There is some funky bass on this album. Why isn't all their stuff like this? Favorite Track: The Ledge

A classic, not much to say about it though. Favorite Track: Passin' Me By

Eh, overrated. I think at the time when this came out it was novel, but now listening to Damon Albarn is tough as he just sounds so melancholy and boring. Favorite Track: 19-2000

Good stuff, tribal metal sound Not sure if I had a favorite track but the whole album was consistent and awesome.

Back to the 70s mines.

I thought these guys only had one song, and that it was 'My Girl'. To hear otherwise is, to put it bluntly, earth-shattering. Favorite Track: Cloud Nine

I wasn't sure if I was going to like this since his Sister-Wife wasn't on the album, afaik. But it does feel like the logical extension of the white stripes. Favorite Track: Freedom At 21

Good, maybe even 5 stars, but I need to listen to it more to confirm.

Confusing looking at this album on Apple Music as it shows that the artist is a classical artist, but then you play the album and it's Mambo.

The theme from the exorcist was bad enough, but to find out there is an entire album.. rough

Hole sucks
