1001 Albums Summary

First time ever listening to this album. Pretty easy listen. Liked the last song.

So, I knew nothing about Hole. We played celebrity skin on either guitar hero or rock band. Celebrity Skin is pretty good but the rest of the album is just not that great for my listening tastes.

Wow. Wasn’t sure what to expect with this album. Janelle Monae has a beautiful voice. This kind of reminds me of Yes when they were in concert. I’m writing this before I check on who Janelle is and what this album is all about. Kind of a cool sound to keep in the background when you are working or playing a game.

I didn’t appreciate Rush until I went to a concert. They blew me away.

Pretty cool that Moby did all the music by himself. Kind of a long album but nice to hear the different sounds and songs.

I’m not a big Sinatra fan. He has a great voice and it was a good time growing up when he and the rat pack were together. Just because I don’t like him shouldn’t affect how I feel about his music in general.

Great sound. I’ve never listened to them before.

Taylor swift is her own person and doesn’t care what others think about her. She seems to take care of the people around her. Her music is not for me but it’s since it’s geared to a younger audience.

The last song was the best. Didn’t realize Lou reed was in the band.

Great album with great songs. I love the organ music and play this when I was to take a nostalgia trip.

Saw them in concert when they were older but the sound was still there. Great voices and great musicians. I had an album by Rik Wakeman and didn’t realize he was with Yes until years later.

Great album. I like Preludes version of after the gold rush. Heard it before I know Neil sang it.

Not a big van morrison fan.

It was ok. Kind of a punk sound.

Joy division did not bring me much joy.

Reggae and ska mixed with a little punk.

I remember the boys listening to this album. Pretty good listen.

Nice Caribbean sound. Makes you feel like you are in a bar.

It’s Bowie. Different but cool sound.

One of the greatest albums ever. His words meant a lot then and still do to this day.

A lot of modern music came from copying Muddy Waters style. Thank goodness as he created a great sound.

Listened but didn’t like it.

The album reminds me of Saturday Nights in Cambridge City when it was late in the bar and people would be dancing to this sound. It was depressing. Some of the lyrics were interesting but I still don’t like twangy country music.

1977 I was a senior in high school dating the leading lady in the play. We went to the prom together. Hotel California came on the radio when we were in Doug Huntsman car. Come to find out she wanted to go with him. I wasn’t mad about her being with him but I was mad because it blew my chance with Sherry Williams. Found out she said she wanted to go with me. I still get angry when this song comes on. The album was great and is a good listen even if it reminds you of Terry Hetismeir and her cigarette smoking self. LOL

Sorry I did not like this at all.

I like the Pet Shop Boys sound. You can beat West End Girls and What Have i Done to Deserve This. It was nice to hear the entire album.

Good album for a rainy Monday morning. It’s kind of depressing music. It was not that enjoyable.

What a nice surprise with this album. Nice punk roots along with the jazz sound. Would have been fun to see them in a small club.

This is one album where every song was a hit. One of the greatest albums of all time.

Nilsson was a troubled man. I don’t understand how so many people in this profession are so unhappy. Seems like a great way to make a living. Maybe they take things too seriously for their own good. It’s a good album but is it a great album?

Great album. Made country rock what it is today. Free Bird was a great song to slow dance to in High School. The only bad thing about that song is that Jen-nay almost jumped from the hotel room balcony.

As a trumpet player myself you gotta love Miles Davis. His music is very cool. It must have been fun seeing him in the clubs and chilling with the music.
