Good first album but not the best
I had not listened to this abum before. A few nice songs on this album.
I'm into it. It's basically just a David Bowie album I haven't heard.
I know who he is, but I’m not impressed by his debut album.
The idiot is a debut solo album by American musician Iggy Pop released on March 18th 1977. It was a collaboration with David Bowie who is credited as producer received critical acclaim and is considered one of Iggy pop's best works. First song, "Sister Midnight" starts with catchy pop guitar and bass playing around and a low synth voice. Feels pretty restrained though. The riff is a little repetitive after a while. "Nightclubbing" the second track also starts with a repetitive back and forth brief but this time it's the piano and drums and it's a little bit bluesy but it's very repetitive with the I-IV cadence. There's some interesting guitar and the background hopefully it comes out to the front and there's a solo. "funtime" is a bit more of the same repetitive low energy stuff. Good if you want some background music that is not WOW. "Baby" is good. Has more interesting stuff going on Next song china girls is also good love the guitar. Dum Dum Boys is more classic rock now and it's getting good. Tiny girls was good but nothing outstanding. Final song "Mass Production" is heavy classic rock but mixed with a slow ballad. It's a good song but doesn't seem to be too organized. Overall 3/5

Vielleicht ist Rock einfach nicht so mein Ding? Ganz ok.
Not good
Bad Bowie cover band
Favorite: Sister Midnight
Iggy makes a Bowie album. Fascinating.
2.5!
Love the sound. Sparse lyrics with droning vocals. Crazy instrumentation with synths.
Pretty weird, iconic, but weird.
What a freaking record.
nothing good. instrumentals shit was irritating
Can definitely hear Bowie's influence all over it. Pretty good.
Bowie
Didn't really like it
Excellent exemplification of music at late 70s. Also discovered that China girl wasn't only Bowie's! Really enjoyed this album.
BAF
some of it I really enjoyed, but not exactly my first choice
Dum Dum Boys was fine, but music was too clunky and disjointed for me.
this album is a pain in the ass to listen to because it has interesting ideas and sounds but it ended being fucking annoying and repetitive. did we need more than one iggy pop album on this list? 2 stars!!!!
Debauched post punk with a nocturnal vibe and lyrics spilling from the artist's subconscious. Although David Bowie gives it both an accessibility and richness it likely wouldn't otherwise have had, Iggy Pop truly gives the record its raw punk energy.
Bowie and Pop are a powerful duo.
8/10, pretty great Bowie album and a nice left turn for Iggy. OG China Girl is best
Solid album. Absolutely love China Girl especially. It was surprisingly experimental in its use of synths and atmospheric style compositions. I can also see why Iggy Pop is clearly an important pre-cursor to punk music.
GOAT Pop Punk
fuuuuuuucking hell more wonky 70s shit, i think it's pretty safe to say this is the author's favourite era. fuck it off. 1/5.
