Popular Reviews

Trans Europe Express by Kraftwerk

Holy crap. Usually I’m annoyed by songs with string out chorus’ but the rhythm and synth on this album is so enjoyable.

Oxygène by Jean-Michel Jarre

Definitely a night time gift wrapping album. I’ll revisit this so I think it’s good enough for a 5.

With The Beatles by Beatles

Visually, a classic album. Not to be infused with “Meet the Beatles”, the U.S. release. This album has a lot of good songs. Many state “I wanna be your man” is the weak link but I disagree, it was written for the Rolling Stones but I feel like it adds a nice charm to this album. The covers and the originals blend really well, I think Mr Postman is my favorite, but All My Loving is definitely the song that made this album shine.

Pearl by Janis Joplin

Bluesy classic here with some good hits. Janis is best known for being a part of the 27 club, where honestly I believe her status in rock history comes from. This is gonna sound really bad but this is an instance of “Died young enough a hero, before living long enough to be a villain”. Shes been immortalized because it her music could not get worse. I’m not a big fan, her voice just is so scratchy but she had a glow about her that screamed “fuck you I’ll do what I want”. It’s a shame that she passed so young because I really don’t know if Pearl being someone’s best album makes them a legend.

Nov 18 2025

Not sure how you could hate this album. The songs are legendary and fun, some of you people are too serious!

A Love Supreme by John Coltrane
Nov 19 2025

An album with the main instrument being a saxophone, 10/10

Nov 20 2025

Praise You and Rockefeller Skank are all I really cared about. I did a lot of skipping because of how boring and obnoxious some songs got, lik In Heaven and Kalifornia.

Let England Shake by PJ Harvey
Nov 21 2025

Refreshing listen, last album for me was a fat boy slim album so this was good!

Triangle by The Beau Brummels
Nov 23 2025

Eh, not for me. I’m a Dylan fan, but this was just kind of meh.

John Prine by John Prine
Nov 24 2025

Basic country shit. Catchy, but won’t revisit.

Born To Run by Bruce Springsteen
Nov 25 2025

A classic, funky and sometimes jazzy album. Love it, can turn it on anytime.

Californication by Red Hot Chili Peppers
Nov 27 2025

This band sucks and the singer is a creep. Couple good songs though, docking points for being shitty all around.

Faust IV by Faust
Nov 28 2025

Woof, this was an interesting one. Not my kind of music, I listen to Zappa sometimes and some Iron Butterfly, but outside of that, this was just experimental noise. Won’t revisit.

Illinois by Sufjan Stevens
Nov 29 2025

Fun album

Here Are the Sonics by The Sonics
Dec 01 2025

Not really sure why this album is necessary for us trying to expand our musical mind. It came out the same year the Beatles released Rubber Soul but has the same production of a mid 50s rock album.

Trans Europe Express by Kraftwerk
Dec 03 2025

Holy crap. Usually I’m annoyed by songs with string out chorus’ but the rhythm and synth on this album is so enjoyable.

Tracy Chapman by Tracy Chapman
Dec 04 2025

Sad, realistic album with little vote for hope. Beautiful lyricism.

Aftermath by The Rolling Stones
Dec 06 2025

A couple “innovative” songs (leaving behind the basic rock and roll that made them popular).

Kollaps by Einstürzende Neubauten
Dec 07 2025

What the fuck?

Harvest by Neil Young
Dec 08 2025
Dirt by Alice In Chains
Dec 09 2025

Best grunge album and it’s not even close.

Dec 10 2025

Pure nostalgia trip. I was in 5th or 4th grade maybe. My grandma was going through a musical renaissance herself and Gave the Beatles a break for this, Maroon 5 and some Gwen Stefani lol. Yeah, the classics on here, Time to Pretend, Electric Feel, Kids, really are the powerhouse but the other songs are really good, too. I think these kids were in college just playing their shit for classmates. Pretty creative stuff.

Antichrist Superstar by Marilyn Manson
Dec 11 2025

I’m not a metal head, I don’t listen to a lot of this music. But strangely enough, I enjoyed this album. I picked out a few songs I liked the most but I can see myself revisiting this one too find more.

The Idiot by Iggy Pop
Dec 12 2025

I didn’t learn anything from this experience besides David Bowie’s “China girl” isn’t his at all.

Rock 'N Soul by Solomon Burke
Dec 13 2025

Eh. Basic 60’s sound. Some good tunes but nothing groundbreaking.

Pacific Ocean Blue by Dennis Wilson
Dec 14 2025

Some good songs, I wonder what Dennis would have been able to grow into had he lived longer. This was a drag of an album though, the sound was so similar throughout. Easy listen, nothing to rave about.

Vanishing Point by Primal Scream
Dec 15 2025

Pretty fun listen. Some instrumental, some weird lyrics. Had a good time and will absolutely revisit.

Abraxas by Santana
Dec 16 2025

Classic guitarist here with classic guitar riffs. Can’t really hate it at all.

Parachutes by Coldplay
Dec 17 2025

Sparks, Yellow, Trouble. That’s a pretty good three song punch right there. The rest of the album seems kind of eh.

Out Of The Blue by Electric Light Orchestra
Dec 18 2025

Classic album with some of the best classic rock tunes ever. This album is what made ELO coined as “The Future Beatles”.

Oxygène by Jean-Michel Jarre
Dec 19 2025

Definitely a night time gift wrapping album. I’ll revisit this so I think it’s good enough for a 5.

My Generation by The Who
Dec 20 2025

I could only listen to the deluxe album and man did it just draggggg. A good amount of their classics came from this album but outside of that it was just basic 60s rock.

Dec 21 2025

The godfather of soul. Lively performance, truly shows how much HE was the music. Only problem is it’s only 30 minutes.

2112 by Rush
Dec 22 2025

If I hadn’t heard loud prog rock before this album, I’d say it’s the most fun I had listening to music. The sound is explosive and the vocals are just mmmm, I see where Josh Kiszka from Greta Van Fleet got his vocal influence from.

Moby Grape by Moby Grape
Dec 24 2025

I’m not really sure I understood the assignment, here. It’s alright, not too exciting. I’ll probably come back to it to explore the songs again but it’s pretty average.

Dec 25 2025

Not a U2 fan by any means but this album is fantastic. The sound is just so big and “new” even thought it’s almost 40 years old. Part of a permanent collection.

Paul's Boutique by Beastie Boys
Dec 27 2025

Garbage, not really fun at all and it’s fucking obnoxious. I’d rather listen to turtles fornicate for a month.

Morrison Hotel by The Doors
Dec 29 2025

The whole album hits, might not be as hard as the leadoff Roadhouse Blues, but the short track list is very easy to listen to.

Machine Head by Deep Purple
Dec 30 2025

Has highway Star and smoke on the water.

The Soft Bulletin by The Flaming Lips
Dec 31 2025

Vocally, unimpressive. Musically, very smooth and fun to listen to. The vocals were just… they just sounded like they tried to sound bad.

Penthouse And Pavement by Heaven 17
Jan 01 2026

Weird 80s experimental/noise album. Was pretty funky and groovy at times, I’ll probably revisit as a joke to my friends lol

Rid Of Me by PJ Harvey
Jan 02 2026

Loud. Kind of messy, but there were some good songs on here. I’ll have to revisit to see which ones I liked the most but I was satisfied.

Getz/Gilberto by Stan Getz
Jan 03 2026

I live and breathe for this buttery goodness. The calming vocals. The wonderful guitar. YUMMMYYYU

Atomizer by Big Black
Jan 04 2026

Another album I couldn’t finish. What a weird fucking album. Not even good sound, it’s just loud “edgy” “punk”.

Wonderful Rainbow by Lightning Bolt
Jan 05 2026

I liked a couple songs but I don’t remember the names. I could listen to those ones again but not the whole album. It all sounded the same after a bit.

Achtung Baby by U2
Jan 06 2026

“Mysterious Ways” is so good just because that bass line is so fucking mint. Outside of that, it’s a pretty uninspiring album.

Tical by Method Man
Jan 07 2026

That flow so ‘credible! Idk what it is about Wu-Tang but holy shit Method Man just defines it.

Jan 08 2026

What an overrated piece of garbage album. I enjoyed “The Scientist”, “Clocks” is such a mindless song that I just don’t jive with. I deleted this album promptly lol

Fifth Dimension by The Byrds
Jan 09 2026

I enjoy this type of music. It’s a shame it all kind of got forgotten about. Very underrated in terms of today’s music, a must for psych fans.

Exile On Main Street by The Rolling Stones
Jan 10 2026

Call me the tumbling diiiiice. Stupid British take on dither drawl rock other than that. Mick Jaggers dumb “honky Tonk” vocals really get to me here. Sticky fingers was the only album I could really handle it and that’s because it wasn’t every. Fucking. Song. Rocks Off, Tumbling Dice, Happy. These are the songs I really care about. Idk what it is but it just brings me back to my grandmothers house in Massachusetts, I don’t think she listened to a lot of Stones because she’s a Beatles fan but this music reminds me of the times. Nostalgia points and a few bangers, album cover is iconic too.

Isn't Anything by My Bloody Valentine
Jan 11 2026

I must be a fat fucking chud because this music fucking blew. I wish I liked it, wanted to, in fact. But the fucking obnoxious ass sad boy vocals really just irked me and did not sound good. Like, what the fuck?

good kid, m.A.A.d city by Kendrick Lamar
Jan 12 2026

This album is a literal storybook, man. Shows the life Kendrick led in his youth, with gangs and violence. Top song is “M.a.a.d City”, vibe is poetic justice. 10/10.

Hot Buttered Soul by Isaac Hayes
Jan 13 2026

It was alright. I lost interest in the last song, but aside from that I enjoyed the first track and the rest kind of just blended into the album.

Venus Luxure No. 1 Baby by Girls Against Boys
Jan 14 2026

Eh. Couple good songs that prevented me from giving up but not that great.

Nevermind by Nirvana
Jan 15 2026

All the songs aside from the last one make this album. Endless, Nameless kind of creates a nice segue to In Utero. This albums full of real commercial shit, but it’s good commercial shit, this is what made Nirvana good. They knew how to make music for commercial success without pissing off the pissed off.

Lam Toro by Baaba Maal
Jan 16 2026

For not understanding a thing that was sai, it was really funky! I enjoyed this.

The Score by Fugees
Jan 17 2026

I enjoyed the concept of this album. How Many Mics, ready or Not, the Beast (that skit was something else lmao), Killing Me Softly With His song, and The Mask were all highlights of this album. I find the majority of these albums in this list suck if it’s not a certified classic rock album everyone has heard or a 90s Jess-infused r&b/rap album. I enjoyed this one.

Marcus Garvey by Burning Spear
Jan 18 2026

Eh. Reggae is cool but I couldn’t really handle this much activism in a single album.

Tubular Bells by Mike Oldfield
Jan 19 2026

Not my cup of tea but I respect it for what it is. Neat that this has some of the exorcist theme in it. I’ll rate it high because it was definitely creative and new for the time but I won’t listen again.

Jan 20 2026

I can’t believe I missed out on this album for this long. Everything about it is perfect, from the lyrics to the little jam sessions. It’s so perfectly infused between rock and jazz and contemporary rock. 10/10.

Violator by Depeche Mode
Jan 21 2026

This is a perfect album. Every song blends and meshes so well. Halo and Blue Dress are the only songs I didn’t favorite but they are good songs. I truly believe I have a better understanding for music and how far we’ve come since hearing this album. The best song in this is Personal Jesus. They really nailed the electronic sound. Holy shit.

Ágætis Byrjun by Sigur Rós
Jan 22 2026

I enjoyed this album for what it is. Not understanding the words, I felt I could understand the meaning just from the sound. Very relaxing at times, definitely a night drive album. There’s a few songs I favorited immediately. Dreamy, pretty, and pretty rocking at times.

Fulfillingness' First Finale by Stevie Wonder
Jan 23 2026

Definitely a Stevie Wonder classic. I’m not sure who the producer was for this album, but my god did they nail it. The backing vocals through the album were so lit.

Led Zeppelin IV by Led Zeppelin
Jan 24 2026

Each track just plays well. Black Dog really gives you a good idea of the type of album this is. STAIRWAY is the best song no doubt, it closes out the first half perfectly. Levee a California are some of the best songs Zep put out, Levee being I believe Bonzo’s best piece, with California being Jones best finger work. Plant really peaks on this album. I used to listen to this when I got my first record player back in sophomore year of high school, so it holds a lot of nostalgia for me.

She's So Unusual by Cyndi Lauper
Jan 25 2026

She’s definitely unusual. Girls just wanna have fun, time after time, and all through the night, those are the only songs I care about. However, it’s a fun album that I did not spend time wishing to end.

Southern Rock Opera by Drive-By Truckers
Jan 26 2026

I gave up on this, wasn’t interested in this lousy shit

Let's Stay Together by Al Green
Jan 27 2026

This was pretty groovy. Really dug the hits like the title track and mend a broken heart. I’m hanging onto this one.

Maggot Brain by Funkadelic
Jan 28 2026

Very good guitar, groovy sound. Not Michelle to say.

The Real Thing by Faith No More
Jan 29 2026

Pretty fun listen. I find myself liking this kind of rock more each time I hear it.

Synchronicity by The Police
Jan 30 2026

Front to back, extremely dark lyrics. From Synchronicity II to Wrapped around Your Finger, Murder by Number, absolutely bangers. It felt kind of twisted to like these songs as they portray evil topics. Synchronicity II appears to be about mundane living and questioning the purpose of living at all, Every Breath is wide known to be about a stalking situation, and wrapped around your finger seems to be about adultery and infidelity. I fuck with this album 100%

Surfer Rosa by Pixies
Jan 31 2026

Where is my mind and the first two tracks are pretty solid. I might spin this one again.

The Grand Tour by George Jones
Feb 01 2026

Pretty run of the mill country. Kind of boring sound, it’s not bad by any mean but not my cup of Joe. Good writing, just not exciting and I’m not always in the mood.

Off The Wall by Michael Jackson
Feb 02 2026

I enjoyed this more than I expected I would. No song is bad. The worst song on this album is either the closer or Girlfriend, and those are not even bad. They are good at the minimum. I favorited 60% of the album but I favorite songs that I go “oh hell yeah” to. The other songs are groovy and I could get down to them, just not like the rest. The best song on this album is Rock With You by miles. That synthesizer is just so nostalgic for me. Definitely keeping this in my collection.

Kid A by Radiohead
Feb 03 2026

It took me a good amount of tries to get into Radiohead because they just didn’t fit my musical standard (lyrics and melody combined) but after giving Kid A its 10th listen, I was pretty blown away at how innovative the group was. They redefined how electronic music could be used in a more common rock/pop song. People give Motion Picture Soundtrack a lot of credit S being the best song on here, but it’s between Kid A and Idiotwque for me. Very good album.

Rocks by Aerosmith
Feb 04 2026

I used to love Aerosmith, then I listened to other music and realized Aerosmith isn’t that good. Steven Tyler’s voice is like really obnoxious on this album, especially the opening track. Like he’s not really screaming, just straining his vocal cords. I’m not that into it. Sorry.

I’m a Lonesome Fugitive by Merle Haggard
Feb 05 2026

Another country album, another dull car ride. I’m starting to think my musical taste dis not include country. I respect why Merle means to the genre and the artists who idolized him. Pretty neat that he started his career after seeing Johnny Cash perform at a prison. Some songs were pretty nice but nothing I’d go out of my way for.

The Undertones by The Undertones
Feb 06 2026

I enjoyed this album. The singers voice did get obnoxious towards The End.

War by U2
Feb 07 2026

I don’t care much for U2 but maybe I’m wrong. I love the Joshua Tree and I love this album too. Drowning man is such a fucking ripper. The opener is the most played song I think on this album, but New Years Day and surrender are also amazing. Great lyrics. Great guitar, great drums, great bass.

Maverick A Strike by Finley Quaye
Feb 08 2026

I enjoyed this a lot. I thought it was going to be a basic reggae album but that bass lines are so crisp and the lyrics are fantastic. This is some groundbreaking shiz.

Feb 09 2026

This was a good album. I was expecting “Take On Me” to be the only song I liked but there were a couple good jams.

I Should Coco by Supergrass
Feb 10 2026

I liked this more than expected, “Alright” was a good song I didn’t realize was a hit until I heard it. The rest was kind of just there, but enjoyable.

Bad Company by Bad Company
Feb 11 2026

Every song is a hit. A must-gave if you collect, a must listen if you rock and roll. 10/10, regardless of how cliche it sounds. It just fucks.

Document by R.E.M.
Feb 12 2026

Michael Stipes voice is just not for me. I can’t even get behind the lyrics. Music sounded cool, though.

The Stooges by The Stooges
Feb 13 2026

The second song is a bop. Iggy's vocals are interesting, has an accent maybe? I liked this, I will revisit when I am feeling edgy.

Ramones by Ramones
Feb 14 2026

Meh. Every song sounding like a garage band track got old. I like the first few then things got repetitive. “1, 2, 3” got really old.

Songs Of Leonard Cohen by Leonard Cohen
Feb 15 2026

I actually really liked this. Leonard Cohen is one of those “he was HOW OLD?” Artists a you just kind of appreciate where they ended up. The poetry on this album is first class and honestly, even Dylan probably took notes.

Rumours by Fleetwood Mac
Feb 16 2026

The famous “breakup” album, though they stayed together for a while after this lol. The definition of a wok - life balance. I came to realize The Chain is the main hit on here but I was introduced to Go Your Own Way long before I heard the former. The latter gets obnoxious after a while. Dreams was the breath of life for TikTok. My favorite song on this album might be Gold Dust Woman. This album is very good from beginning to start. I don’t know if there’s a true “filler” song in it. The whole “tragedy breeds art” applies.

Doolittle by Pixies
Feb 17 2026

I liked this album enough to probably keep it in my library. A couple songs made it to my favorites playlist. Basic punk rock stuff.

Pft this was awesome. Didn’t think I’d want to bother but after listening to the whole thing I get it. I get it. I’ve read the Rakines are actually the fathers of punk but this defines the sound. Perfect album.

Cut by The Slits
Feb 19 2026

I can’t say I understand all music on this list, but this gave me major Bengals vibes. It was no something I would pull out on a smooth summer night so this is definitely going away. I don’t really have much fun with this album.

Feb 20 2026

Very soothing music. Not in a chill, lo-fi way. I got 90s britpop vibes from this album, that kind of down to earth “people first” music. Favorited a few songs from this.

At Fillmore East by The Allman Brothers Band
Feb 21 2026

Holy shit. This was a long one, understandably as a live album. One I had to hear? Halfway though the second to last song I was like "I'm done". The most this album showed me is that they can really jam and they sound really good live. I enjoy the hits, not much I would do outside of this album.

Fun House by The Stooges
Feb 23 2026

Hmm, this was pretty cool but I can’t see myself listening again to the whole thing. I enjoyed the first album most.

With The Beatles by Beatles
Feb 24 2026

Visually, a classic album. Not to be infused with “Meet the Beatles”, the U.S. release. This album has a lot of good songs. Many state “I wanna be your man” is the weak link but I disagree, it was written for the Rolling Stones but I feel like it adds a nice charm to this album. The covers and the originals blend really well, I think Mr Postman is my favorite, but All My Loving is definitely the song that made this album shine.

Truth And Soul by Fishbone
Feb 25 2026

On a binge right now because I haven’t listened to a lot of music, so I’m probably biting out but aside from the closer, what the fuck was this album?

The Message by Grandmaster Flash & The Furious Five
Feb 26 2026

Ugh. It had some cool parts but outside of that really nothin I’ll come back to.

Innervisions by Stevie Wonder
Feb 27 2026

Really groovy, funky, beatastic. Higher Ground is obviously the song that makes the album known, but the rest of the songs tie in pretty well with each other. It’s possible Stevie had the best 4 album run of the 70s, and this album really sets the tone for it.

Fear Of Music by Talking Heads
Feb 28 2026

I think Talking Heads might be another band I take from this list as a favorite. I’ve always wanted to get into them but never had time to sit down. This was enjoyable, I think it was really innovative and fun to listen to. Quirky, but not obnoxious.

Lazer Guided Melodies by Spiritualized
Mar 01 2026

Not really sure what this was, it was calm and kind of trance inducing. The closer was an absolute ripper. Some good songs but none I would revisit, too long for my taste.

3 + 3 by The Isley Brothers
Mar 02 2026

I wan the funk!

Mar 03 2026

10/10. This is a perfect album to me. I love Definitely Maybe, it’s got some amazing tunes on it. This one’s better because I feel the songs blend and form a seamless experience. Hello and Champagne Supernova are perfect intros and outros, respectively. Of course we got Wonderwall and DLBIA as a back to back barrage. The swamp song verses are amazing intermission pieces. My personal favorite is Cast No Shadow. I got to see that live for the ‘25 tour and I was thrilled. I will forever adore this album, with both Liam’s vocals and Noel’s guitar solos. Fucking BIBLICAL

Pearl by Janis Joplin
Mar 04 2026

Bluesy classic here with some good hits. Janis is best known for being a part of the 27 club, where honestly I believe her status in rock history comes from. This is gonna sound really bad but this is an instance of “Died young enough a hero, before living long enough to be a villain”. Shes been immortalized because it her music could not get worse. I’m not a big fan, her voice just is so scratchy but she had a glow about her that screamed “fuck you I’ll do what I want”. It’s a shame that she passed so young because I really don’t know if Pearl being someone’s best album makes them a legend.

The Velvet Underground by The Velvet Underground
Mar 05 2026

I really don’t get it. They lost me with Heroin or whatever that loud ass song is. I liked the intro, though.

In Rainbows by Radiohead
Mar 07 2026

I don’t know why I like this album so much. I just fucking do. I was trying really hard to get into Radiohead, and while Kid A was cool and OK Computer sounded fun, I just couldn’t get it. This was the first Radiohead album I heard and thought, “holy shit I get it”. Idk what songs like “All I Need”, and Jigsaws did to me but this unlocked my appreciation for the band.

Led Zeppelin II by Led Zeppelin
Mar 08 2026

Between this and Zep 4 as their best work. We all know the answer, but every song on this album is a radio hit. Idk why else you need from it.

Central Reservation by Beth Orton
Mar 09 2026

Pretty music but her voice got really obnoxious. Like Dido type of obnoxious. A lot of it sounded the same but worked for the album since it felt like a story I couldn’t really read well.

Zombie by Fela Kuti
Mar 10 2026

This was nice. Love a good jazz record.

Heaux Tales by Jazmine Sullivan
Mar 12 2026

SZA’s S.O.S should be on here if this was

Mar 13 2026

Such a soft album. Lana has a beautiful voice, I didn’t really connect with the songs lyrically but I enjoyed the musicianship.

Abattoir Blues / The Lyre of Orpheus by Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds
Mar 14 2026

Decent writing. I think I’ve heard Nature Boy before but Outside of that, it was all pretty good. I’m learning, however, that double albums are unbelievably inconvenient to listen to if it’s not something I actively seek out. I won’t take points away for that.

Let It Bleed by The Rolling Stones
Mar 15 2026

I’m starting to think the Rolling Stones are just an object of their time because I really just cannot get into any of their albums. I like the top hits or best of albums, but outside of the hits they’re just so mehhhhh. The opener and the closer saved this from complete catastrophe.

Unknown Pleasures by Joy Division
Mar 17 2026

I don’t get the appeal. Their best song isn’t even on this album. I guess I can see Depeche Mode in this, whatever came first the chicken or the egg. I didn’t really enjoy this.

Yeezus by Kanye West
Mar 18 2026

The album started off rather aged, but it kind of grew on me. I think Kanye is a real piece of work, but this is good stuff. I think he was a pioneer for techno produced rap? I haven’t heard beats quite like these.

Calenture by The Triffids
Mar 19 2026

When I see a list of things to do or see or hear before I die, I think it includes things that would change my life or make me feel like a new person. I do. This was a fantastic example of “thrift store” music that is actually good. When I hear the production of this type of music I think of cheap and discounted music at thrift stores and flea markets, but I came out of this album with 3 total songs that I completely enjoy. This guy has a good voice, my favorite song was probably the opener.

Swordfishtrombones by Tom Waits
Mar 20 2026

I had an ironic amount of fun listening to this. At first I was kind of thrown at the vocals, but eventually I just got used to it and said “yeah I like this”

Either Or by Elliott Smith
Mar 21 2026

Beautiful album. It was so soft and gorgeously written. Elliot Smith has a fantastic voice. Loved this, will revisit.

Tea for the Tillerman by Cat Stevens
Mar 22 2026

A soft rock classic. I personally do not like Cat Steven's voice, but the songs are very well written.

At Newport 1960 by Muddy Waters
Mar 23 2026

Muddy Waters played pretty clearly to me. He's a blues legend and not much has to be said about his influence. This album captures his work at it's most popular and cherished. This was a quick listen to, for all of us album lovers.

The Bends by Radiohead
Mar 24 2026

This is the beginning of Radiohead’s excellent run of 5 star albums. It’s combination of great vocals and amazing instrumentation, this lyrics are really existential as well.

Little Earthquakes by Tori Amos
Mar 25 2026

If you like Kate Bush, this is for you. If you don’t like Kate Bush. This is not for you. I liked some of the songs that I have probably heard on the radio or something before but outside of that it’s a pretty average “sad misunderstood girl” album.

KE*A*H** (Psalm 69) by Ministry
Mar 26 2026

Spoke to a coworker who said this album was innovative at the time so I went into this with that thought. While I was kind of like “eh what’s the big deal” it was very important for the industrial scene. It did not really age well, but there were a couple songs that had me bopping.

There's A Riot Goin' On by Sly & The Family Stone
Mar 27 2026

A classic album I’ve been told. Based on the story behind it and the paranoia and trauma Sly was experiencing? I’d agree. Famously being a response to Marvin Gaye’s “What’s Goin On?”, this album has a sarcastic sound to it. I can’t help but feel sad but willing to groove to this album. A lot of implied symbolism and truths of society especially from “Running away”, the mindset behind the average American. I love that this album tries to marry the listener to actualization and just getting over it. I will keep this in my library.

The Köln Concert by Keith Jarrett
Mar 28 2026

beautiful piece of music. I do see the vision. The closer was a pretty encapsulation of the whole show. I may not listen to this for fun, but I will throw my roses to keith.

The Downward Spiral by Nine Inch Nails
Mar 29 2026

Good angry album. All the songs tie in well with each other. It’s rather raunchy but it’s a good time.

Tusk by Fleetwood Mac
Mar 30 2026

Based on what I read, this was a far cry of a follow up to Rumours. Based on my listening experience, it was definitely different from their usual sound. It was good though. Very abrasive at times but nothing bad. I do think “Sara” is slightly overrated, as Stevie just doesn’t have a good grasp of the tone and some of the vocals are so compacted to fit into the chords. Aside from that, I enjoyed my time and got a lot of liked songs from it, especially the very African influenced title track.

Bryter Layter by Nick Drake
Mar 31 2026

As a fan of this type of music, I must say I never understood Nick Drake. I assume Pink Moon will be the next one I listen to. Maybe that will change my mind. Pretty lyrics.

If You're Feeling Sinister by Belle & Sebastian
Apr 01 2026

Didn’t really care for this one. The vocals were nice but I don’t even remember not rating it in the first place. I listened twice and still have no recollection of what was in it.

Graceland by Paul Simon
Apr 02 2026

An album that’s influenced by an African culture, I think a majority of this album was well written. Best song is of course Call Me Al

The Holy Bible by Manic Street Preachers
Apr 03 2026

Why was this important?

Apr 04 2026

Weird band but I think that’s their niche. Not a lot of memorable songs but I dig the cover of “Take Me To The River”

Blur by Blur
Apr 05 2026

Damon Albutt has a fucking awful voice. Who listens to this shit? Fucking Oasis vs Blur? Holy Christ listen to Radiohead if you want “innovative sound”. Fuck this band.

Heroes to Zeros by The Beta Band
Apr 06 2026

I enjoyed this type of pop rock. I wasn’t keeping an eye on the songs but I enjoyed this.

Apr 07 2026

My dumbass had this on shuffle but either way I dont think I was getting much out of this album. I can think of others that could replace it. I liked the instrumental track.

One World by John Martyn
Apr 08 2026

Odd songs. I liked the song towards the end about dancing or whatever, the follow up was good too. Not my slice, though.

The Coral by The Coral
Apr 09 2026

I dug it hard. That psychedelic 60s vibey type, I really liked this one. The first 6 songs are straight fire. Maybe I got bored towards the end but idc, I’m listening to this again.

Shaft by Isaac Hayes
Apr 10 2026

Very nice background grooves.

This is an essential album for all collections. Bowie really never lets off. It’s one of the best concept albums ever, picking up all the hits, Ziggy Stardust is my favorite, it’s a biographical piece that ends in heartbreak. My favorite song. Star man is the first radio hit on here but it’s not the only great song.

Step In The Arena by Gang Starr
Apr 12 2026

This was a fun listen. The flowing so tight and the rhymes are insane. I’m starting to notice a trend, 90s rap and hip hop is king.

Darkness on the Edge of Town by Bruce Springsteen
Apr 13 2026

This album has a few hits, not sure I’d have to revisit the whole project. Prove it all night is my favorite track, I also enjoyed promised lands and badlands

Wild Is The Wind by Nina Simone
Apr 14 2026

Very social album. Nina has been a blues goddess but this takes the cake for some of her best work. Aside from Nina Simone Sings the Blues, this might be her best work.

Homework by Daft Punk
Apr 15 2026

Don’t really care for this repetitive noise. I’m excited for discovery !

Lady Soul by Aretha Franklin
Apr 16 2026

What a fantastic voice

Green Onions by Booker T. & The MG's
Apr 17 2026

Classic album. The opener is a great soundtrack to one of my favorite movies, The Sandlot. I’m happy this album was on this list, it’s been a classic of mine.

Stankonia by OutKast
Apr 18 2026

Arguably the greatest rap album ever. If you listened to it and you have an open mind you do not need me to explain this one to you. If you don’t like rap, carry on I guess.

Closer by Joy Division
Apr 20 2026

Still do not understand this

The Doors by The Doors
Apr 21 2026

Fantastic debut album. Some real bangers. Soul Kitchen is an insanely underrated song. Alabama Song aged poorly but Jim Morrison isn’t alive to catch the heat so it’s fine.

Joan Baez by Joan Baez
Apr 22 2026

So incredibly slow and tiring

London Calling by The Clash
Apr 23 2026

Double albums are very daunting to me because I only have so much time and I really like to take the whole experience it at once. I had to break this into a couple sessions. I enjoyed it, I think every song on it has its spot as a top song of all time. My personal favorite was Train in Vein.

Modern Kosmology by Jane Weaver
Apr 24 2026

Open-mind Owen here! 👍 it’s good! This was SUPER fun to listen to. The beats are just so solid, perfect fit for the vocalist. The whole sound of the album is amazing.

Disintegration by The Cure
Apr 25 2026

The songs on this are so absurdly long but they sound good so I guess it’s okay.

m b v by My Bloody Valentine
Apr 26 2026

Much better than the first one. I forgot the album name. Not loveless. I haven’t listened to loveless yet but I can tell you I believe this is their peak. I actually think this album tight me what the band is actually about, just some sick guitars and beats. The first song really threw me into it, the rest was meh but there were a couple that really had me rocking.

Life's Too Good by The Sugarcubes
Apr 27 2026

I didn’t realize Bjork was in a band. She’s got such a good voice. This was a piece that was rather otherworldly in terms of culture. Good pop music. Not sure if I can revisit this if I’m not listening to a “best of bjork” playlist.

This Is Fats Domino by Fats Domino
Apr 28 2026

This is my bread and butter. It reminds me of a time I didn’t experience and created a yearning for those times (social and political issues aside). Loads of classics on this. Was hard to find but just had a playlist of the songs that are in the original album.

Tago Mago by Can
Apr 29 2026

What on earth… I think I liked the first and last songs I don’t know. Two Virgins about to pop off in this list at some point if this is the standard.

The Infotainment Scan by The Fall
Apr 30 2026

I just listened to this and I can’t remember a thing I heard

Mott by Mott The Hoople
May 03 2026

I’m not sure I’ll come back to this. I know David Bowie helped out but I can’t not hear him. The lead singer tried too hard to match Bowie.

Pet Sounds by The Beach Boys
May 04 2026

Orchestral masterpiece. It created a new sound not yet heard in pop music. This was inspired by Brian’s love of Revolver. Carl has such a powerful voice on this album. Mike Love can get fucked I hate that guy, what a useless human. Anyway this is a masterpiece and, while unfinished, the smile sessions record is much better than this if that tells you anything about that. Only saying that because I doubt it’ll be on this list.

Born In The U.S.A. by Bruce Springsteen
May 05 2026

Such a nostalgic album and I don’t mean it brings me back, it just takes me to a time that was so different yet so similar. Genius songwriting and amazing storytelling. The Boss’s magnum opus!

Pink Flag by Wire
May 06 2026

This was popular in 1977, huh? I liked the Sex Pistols more. This got kind of old. Not my music.

Wild Wood by Paul Weller
May 07 2026

I dug the first song, then the rest kind of just became slow and quiet. Put me to sleep. It is still subjective and it is art, so I won't dock it points.

Horses by Patti Smith
May 08 2026

I don’t understand the hype. Maybe I just had to be there. She’s got a really nice spoken word voice but the rest is nothing special. The second to last song has some insane lyrics lmao.

So by Peter Gabriel
May 09 2026

A lot of experimentation here with sounds, that’s why I’ve always liked Peter Gabriel more than the other Genesis guy. Gabriel dives into different sounds knowing it may not be a hit but sets new boundaries instead, plus this album gave us Sledgehammer.

My Aim Is True by Elvis Costello
May 10 2026

Elvis Costello, he appears to be a songwriter heavily influenced by rockabilly and 50s rock and roll. I don’t really care for the voice but the instrumentation is nifty. I enjoyed that song about blaming Cain and Allison was cool too. Not overly thrilled, I’ll listen to it again but I doubt it’ll get much higher than this score I gave.

May 11 2026

Boy do I love a good jazz piece! Only problem is the first song had some repetition that ruined the atmosphere of it, but the following songs picked it right back up. Best song was Group Dancers.

Marquee Moon by Television
May 12 2026

I liked this more than I thought. I only realized the title track was 10 minutes long about 8 minutes in when the opening line started again, I thought I had set it to repeat. Good sounds, nice backing vocals, I wouldn’t say this is a punk album or whatever people say. I enjoyed this.

Remedy by Basement Jaxx
May 13 2026

I was enjoying this, then it got repetitive. I was finding myself moving to the groovin but after a while I gave up, I think I stopped paying attention during that song that had the weird ass moans.

May 14 2026

I’m starting to understand that I like electronic, new wave type of stuff. Outside of the song everyone knows on this, I was able to enjoy the other songs, unknowingly just moving my hips to the beat! I really enjoyed Wrap it Up and The Walk. This House was a freaky ass song, though. Didn’t care for that one while I was alone. Solid work.

Alien Lanes by Guided By Voices
May 15 2026

I liked the first few songs then they started blending and got boring.

Revolver by Beatles
May 16 2026

Could be their best album. I’m a major Beatles glazer so I’m going to give every album on here a 5/5 but this one was the first one that they released that stretched the boundaries they set prior. No song on this album misses.

May 21 2026

Damon Albarn is rubbish. The first song annoyed the fuck out of me, I skipped it. His dumb ass voice just sucks so bad on this album. I liked the instrumentation.

Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers by Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers
May 23 2026

Solid songwriting. Unpopular opinion, Tom Pettys voice bothers the shit out of me. I love Breakdown and American Girl. There’s some sleeper tracks on here that also show up in the greatest hits albums so I was surprised to hear how complete of an album this is.

Boston by Boston
Jun 02 2026

Every song sounds the same. Great album though. Very derivative of themselves in future albums. Best debut album ever.
