The Visitors by ABBA

I enjoy the first track, it definitely feels very 80s! “Head Over Heels” is also great, I love the dramatic scales up during the pre chorus and down during the verses. It feels airy, but also intense at the same time. “When All Is Said and Done” feels like a song that would play at the end of an 80s movie about the cheesy and romantic happenings at the end of the main characters senior year. The chorus of “Soldier” really solidifies it as another stand out song for me. “I Let the Music Speak” has an amazing atmosphere that feels as if it was played in an open cobwebbed tower with a ghostly pianist and singer at the reins. I also enjoyed “Two for the Price of One”, which was less serious than the previous tracks, but still sounded like it belonged. This is a record that I would definitely add to my collection! I’ve never taken the time to listen to ABBA outside of hits before, so this was a pleasant surprise for me. Thank you ABBA for not giving me another dud album to regret on this journey.

Let's Get It On by Marvin Gaye
May 13 2026

A bit ahead of it's time, I see why it is popular and revered, however nothing really stands out to me. Just nice smooth listening.

At Fillmore East by The Allman Brothers Band
May 14 2026

1. ★ Statesboro Blues - Good start to the album, great recording and guitar 2. Done Somebody Wrong - Is groove… maybe not much else 3. Stormy Monday - Like nighttime jazz in a cafe 4. You Don’t Love Me - Nice breakdown in beginning; almost halfway through, feeling done 5. Hot ‘Lanta - It’s nice to listen to and all, but it’s just not for me, really I could say this for the whole album so far 6. In Memory of Elizabeth Reed - … okay that’s enough 7. Whipping Post - Okay I’m done! Never really heard of this band before. I think they’re talented, but just not for me. One star for talent and one star for passion… then minus one star for dragging it out too long. Just something that I would never listen to again.

Heaven Or Las Vegas by Cocteau Twins
May 16 2026

A very ethereal, dream-like album. Indie has never been a big genre for me, but I feel this album has exceeded my expectations while at the same time being exactly what I expected . There are some really great songs, namely Cherry-Coloured Funk, which drew me into the album right away, and Fifty-Fifty Crown. I think that it fell a bit away at the end, but overall a good album.

From Elvis In Memphis by Elvis Presley
May 19 2026

I don’t listen to Elvis, but I can see from this album why he was so popular; there are some good tunes in here. Some stand outs to me were “Wearin’ That Loved On Look”, “Long Black Limousine”, & “Suspicious Minds”.

Meat Is Murder by The Smiths
May 20 2026

It’s fine, I guess I just don’t get it. The only track that really stood out to me was “Meat is Murder”, I love the darkness of the track. It's different than the rest of the album, but I think that's what makes it good to me.

War by U2
May 26 2026
May 27 2026

This album feels very ahead of its time; it sounds straight out of the 90s punk scenes. Stand outs to me are “It’s Expected I’m Gone”, “Retreat”, and “History Lesson, Pt. 2”. Though I like this album, it doesn’t feel like one that I would pull out very often, especially with the sheer volume of it. I like the songs, but it just goes on too long for my taste. Maybe my attention span is too short, but the thought of sticking around at full attention for 43 tracks takes this album down a bit, no matter the content. The songs are all catchy, unique enough, and cohesive, but the constant moving through short track after short track leaves me feeling a bit wanting.

Wonderful Rainbow by Lightning Bolt
May 28 2026

“Hello Morning” started pretty bad, then built up with guitar and drums which saved it from immediate no, but then it tried to burst my ear drums so it went to maybe. I enjoy what’s going on behind, but not in front. I think this must strike a pretty good balance between noise and rock, so I can see the appeal as it did help me actually focus on my work. It’s just not something I would not go out of my way to listen to, and it also hurt my head a bit.

Exodus by Bob Marley & The Wailers
Jun 02 2026

These tracks just make me feel like I’m on the beach with the sun on my face and a drink in my hand. I already love Reggae and island sound so this was a win for me.

I just don’t get it. I like the harmonica parts, but that’s about it. I feel like there is really nothing of substance in this music, and I’d rather spend my time listening to anything else.

Darklands by The Jesus And Mary Chain
Jun 05 2026

Some nice songs on an easygoing album.

Jun 06 2026

There are a lot of great tracks on this album that I’m drawn to: “To Zion”, “Doo Wop”, “I Used to Love Him”, “Forgive Them Father”, “Nothing Even Matters”, “The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill”, & “Can’t Take My Eyes Off of You”. However, a couple tracks (like “When It Hurts so Bad”) drag on forever while saying a lot of nothing. This makes the album feel very drawn out just for the “art” of it. Despite this trouble I had with it dragging in the middle, the end of the album is really strong, bringing this to five stars.

Rumours by Fleetwood Mac
Jun 07 2026

Already listened. Favorite tracks are “Dreams”, “You Make Loving Fun”, and “Second Hand News”.

Elephant by The White Stripes
Jun 08 2026
After The Gold Rush by Neil Young
Jun 09 2026

I can’t believe it… I don’t regret listening to a folk rock album. It’s finally happened… But seriously, not a bad album at all. There’s a couple songs that I like though nothing really stands out to me throughout the whole album. Nice listen though, even through a migraine. I’m so pleased that I am giving it 3 whole stars and considering giving it another listen. Favorite tracks: Tell Me Why & Only Love Can Break Your Heart. Edit: I took another listen to tracks that I wasn’t sure about, and I’m adding another star. New favorites: Tell Me Why, Only Love Can Break Your Heart, Oh Lonesome Me, & Don’t Let It Bring You Down. And ya know what, I like his voice.

Oedipus Schmoedipus by Barry Adamson
Jun 11 2026

A lot of haunting sounds that I appreciate. Then there’s Vermilion Kisses, which kind of confused me. How does this track fit into this imaginary movie? I understand the point of it, but not the storybook weirdness that unfolded. I love the jazz and rock elements of this album the most. It’s a 4 for me because I don’t think I’ll listen to it in full again, but it has quite a few songs that I would listen to on their own.

All Mod Cons by The Jam
Jun 15 2026

A technically good album that unfortunately doesn’t interest me very much. The songs feel like very good easy listening jams. Won’t listen to again. Favorite song: English Rose.

Come Find Yourself by Fun Lovin' Criminals
Jun 17 2026

Says it’s hip hop, sounds more like Limp Bizkit. I would rather just listen to Limp Bizkit. 2 stars for fun though.

Stand! by Sly & The Family Stone
Jun 18 2026
I'm Your Man by Leonard Cohen
Jun 19 2026

What an interesting mix of pop and folk. Sometimes it sounds like he’s barely singing, just his whispering gravely voice right in your ear. It actually makes me uncomfortable. Favorite songs: First We Take Manhattan & Jazz Police.

The Velvet Underground by The Velvet Underground
Jun 20 2026

Some nice easy going tracks to jam to. Not much else. Favorite tracks: Candy Says, Pale Blue Eyes, & After Hours.

Brown Sugar by D'Angelo
Jun 21 2026

Favorite tracks: Brown Sugar, Me and Those Dreamin’ Eyes of Mine, Cruisin’, & When We Get By.

Blur by Blur
Jun 22 2026

Some decent songs I guess. I’ve definitely heard Song 2 before, but that’s about it.

The Sounds Of India by Ravi Shankar
Jun 24 2026

Really amazing playing from Ravi, I love the sound of the Sitar and drums! The twangs and resonance of the sound makes the Sitar a stand out instrument, so no wonder it is so well known across the world in the modern day (even if people don’t know what it’s called or looks like). Not a fan of the talking parts but I understand why they’re there. I could handle just a pure classical album from anywhere honestly.

Talk Talk Talk by The Psychedelic Furs
Jun 25 2026

I love the sax on Dumb Waiters, well really everywhere. It really makes this album stand out from other New Wave albums on here. All in all I liked it. Favorite tracks: Pretty In Pink, Dumb Waiters, & She Is Mine.

Kid A by Radiohead
Jun 26 2026

I really liked it. Favorite tracks: Everything In Its Right Place, The National Anthem, Idioteque & Untitled.

Dare! by The Human League
Jun 28 2026

Very fun synth pop. A very surprised 4 from me. Definitely worth the listen.

Suicide by Suicide
Jun 29 2026

I enjoyed the instrumentation of Cheree, Girl was very interesting, but I actually liked it. The middle of Frankie Teardrop made me chuckle, which I don’t think was the intended effect??? I don’t think I’ve ever had a song make me laugh before, so in that way, this album IS very unique and groundbreaking. Overall, not unenjoyable. Favorite tracks: Cheree, Girl.

Urban Hymns by The Verve
Jun 30 2026

Some actually nice indie rock. It goes a little long though.

Mama's Gun by Erykah Badu
Jul 01 2026

Favorite tracks: Penitentiary Philosophy, Didn’t Cha Know, My Life, & A.D. 2000. I enjoyed it, but not enough to add to my physical collection.

In Utero by Nirvana
Jul 02 2026

I love the menacing bass of Scentless Apprentice, but I did not enjoy the yelling. That’s unfortunate. Favorite songs: Heart-Shaped Box, Rape Me.

Lost In The Dream by The War On Drugs
Jul 03 2026

I would consider this good music for in the background when you’re bored laying upside down in your bed I guess.

Low by David Bowie
Jul 04 2026

I like this better than Ziggy. I really enjoy the ambiance in tracks like Speed of Life and Warszawa. It makes the album feel like a movie soundtrack. Actually very enjoyable. Favorite Tracks: Always Crashing in the Same Car, A New Career in a New Town, Warszawa, Art Decade

Arise by Sepultura
Jul 10 2026

First track is a really good start, very classic metal. I love the use of acoustic guitar that brings an extra layer of darkness to tracks like Desperate Cry. Lacuna Coil uses this effect in Comalies and that’s one of my top albums of all time. Coincidence??? As far as metal goes, this feels pretty tame, which makes it pretty perfect for my taste. Favorite tracks: Arise, Desperate Cry, Subtraction, & Infected Voice.

Da Capo by Love
Jul 12 2026

Really strong start to the album, kind of dips off. I don’t hate it. Favorite tracks: Stephanie Knows Who & Orange Skies.

Heroes by David Bowie
Jul 14 2026

Not my favorite. Heroes < Low & Hunky Dory.

Jul 15 2026

Favorite tracks: Starlight, Supermassive Black Hole (I’m not even going to pretend this one isn’t because of nostalgia), Assassin, & Glorious.

Our Aim Is To Satisfy by Red Snapper
Jul 16 2026

Not really my thing. By the near end of some songs I was over it and skipping to the next track. Was gonna be two stars, but the boredom overtook me.

Electric Prunes by The Electric Prunes
Jul 17 2026

Wow, I really just do not like this kind of music at all. This sucked. I actually regret taking the time to listen to this album, and I’m just glad it’s only 29 minutes long and not an hour. This album has really earned a one star rating, more than the any of the other one stars I’ve rated. Maybe I’ve been too harsh on them. Allman Brothers Band, Leonard Cohen & Blur, I apologize for putting you on the same level as this dookie. If I could, this would rate this zero stars.

Fisherman's Blues by The Waterboys
Jul 19 2026

Never heard of this band or album, and but it seems like it could be interesting just from the song names. Not unenjoyable at all, I think the instrumentals are beautiful. I’ve liked almost none of the folk rock I’ve been handed so far, so this is very nice. Might be better if it was just a little shorter.

Jul 21 2026

Started out SO good, and then just fell off on track 5 until track 11. If those 6 tracks were taken off, this would be an easy 5 star for me. Yeah, it would be really short then, but maybe they should have just put better tracks there in the first place. I gave that section a second chance and it still just doesn’t make the cut. It’s not that the tracks are bad, but they’re just boring and take me out of the flow of the album. Favorite tracks: Brighton Rock, Killer Queen, Flick of the Wrist, & Bring Back Leroy Brown.

Next by The Sensational Alex Harvey Band
Jul 23 2026
Different Class by Pulp
Jul 25 2026

Some interesting content, just not my thing.

Murmur by R.E.M.
Jul 28 2026
Abattoir Blues / The Lyre of Orpheus by Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds
Jul 31 2026

I wasn’t totally sold on the first track, but as the album went on, I really got it. Wow. Too many good tracks to reasonably list here. Soothing, dark, & gloomy.

Aug 04 2026

A couple summers ago I was in London and the National Portrait Gallery had a temporary Beatles exhibit. I contemplated going into this exhibit (and paying the fee to do so). Then at the entrance I remembered that I don’t listen to or much like the Beatles, and I wondered why I considered going in the first place. Oh right, because it’s the BEATLES. Even knowing “nothing” about the Beatles is knowing more than you care to. This makes it even crazier that I’ve never listened to more than one or two of their songs. Anyway, I went to see Princess Diana instead. Favorite songs: With a Little Help From My Friends, & Within You Without You (sitar yes please).

Aug 07 2026

Love the instrumentation in Poison Whiskey, but like some of the songs on the this, the lyrics aren’t really doing it for me. Overall an enjoyable album. Favorite songs: Gimme Three Steps, Things Goin’ On, Mississippi Kid, Poison Whiskey, & Free Bird.

Technique by New Order
Aug 12 2026

Good enough music, just kinda boring. Album cover is cool though.

Movies by Holger Czukay
Aug 16 2026

I don’t dislike it, but the noise of it all hurt my head. The first track was just weird, and then it got a little better. It was very interesting though, I’ll give it that.

21 by Adele
Aug 17 2026

Hit after hit after hit, and for good reason. Listened to this on repeat more than a decade ago and it still holds up. Favorite songs: Rumor Has It, Turning Tables, Don’t You Remember, Set Fire to the Rain, He Won’t Go.

Future Days by Can
Aug 21 2026

Well, there wasn’t a single thing that I enjoyed about this “album”.
