Kings Of The Wild Frontier is bad 80s stuff, nothing here I liked, lots I actively disliked. 1/5.
This was horrendous. Feed Adam to The Ants.
Alex Benson has a great article on the Ants, Bow Wow Wow, Malcolm McLaren and the thievery of the Burundi Beat. The cynicism which suffuses this band - the look, the sound, the style - all a major money grab, designed to create faux controversy and fill column inches - all of it comes through in this irritating mess of styles nicked from others and lyrics saying nothing. Opportunist and crass. Are they pirates, glam rockers, Mohicans or just w@nkers? In Benson’s words: ‘culture is up for grabs, theft is subjective, people are clay and commerce is king.’

Blast from my past. I was 11 when this came out. I think I tried to record from TOTP with a tape deck. How sad. Happy memories. Apart from the singles is doesn’t stand the test of time.

Proof that not all songs are Stand and Deliver. Truly boring and shrill sounding.
I don't like whatever this is. They never should have made music videos, seeing them made it so much worse. The audio only songs on Youtube are more tolerable but still just...bad.
Well that explains what started all the head bangin,body slamming dancing. Adam looks like a David Bowie wannabe but sounds like a Duran Duran groupie. Very wild beat but the words failed to move me. Even with an amazing high intensity beat. Kept losing interest a few minutes into each song. I can image Pee Wee Herman doing his high intensity workouts to this album. But am going to go with “heard it once and won’t repeat that mistake again”.I I will leave saying Adam’s most famous words “Don’t drink Don’Smoke” That is a fun dance song that the ants can go marching 1 by 1.
Did not like this album that much, reminded me of the Culture Club but if they were called the tryhard club! (lol, they're trying too hard in my opinion). I don't have anything else to say, disappointed that an album would waste my time like that.
Desconeixia completament aquest grup i aquest àlbum. Els primers dos temes m'han semblat interessants però després se m'ha començat a fer pesat, i això que no es tracta pas d'un àlbum gaire extens, poc més de 40 minuts. Té un regust de new wave i post punk que no m'ha acabat d'entrar. Les cançons m'han semblat poc inspirades, no m'han cridat l'atenció. Mira que l'he agafat amb ganes de descobrir un grup nou, però el regust final ha estat més aviat decebedor.
