Bitches Brew
Miles DavisNot my cup of tea. Gives me anxiety.
Not my cup of tea. Gives me anxiety.
wow!
I donβt think I have ever listened to a whole Beatles record. I am pretty sure I have most only listened to compilations. This is a really great record. Many of the songs I have been hearing my whole life yet it still sounds fresh.
Cool record. I wish rap was still like this. Or not. Very original.
Very cool. Electro dance metal. Such matrix. Very Neo. Wow.
Definitely sounds like a classic. It is important to read the history of the record to appreciate the era this records unifying impact.
Very David Bowie. Very listenable. 47 years after release it still sounds like it could be released today by someone wanting to sound a bit retro. Stay sounds like something that could be released by the Black Keys⦠maybe without the disco roller skating riffs.
Totally bizarre. Seems to be some kind of space opera. Psychedelic spacey Back Sabbath? I dunno. Just weird.
I listened to this one alot when it was first released. One of Beckβs better ones. Definitely one of his weirder experimental ones.
Very Arcade Fire. Kind of all the same. No memorable melodies. I feel like I am supposed to really like Arcade Fire but β¦ meh.
Easy listening. Good album. Maybe a re-listen some day. No tracks for my best of 1001 playlist
ambient slow soul(?). Sounds nice. Well produced. Nothing really memorable.
It's OK. "Bang a Gong" is clearly the one hit but it has been overplayed in countless TV ads.
It was ok. Joni Mitchell is a national treasure. My favourites are very earliest stuff.
A fusion of the Rolling Stones and Nirvana? Grunge inspired R&B. Good but probably not listen again.
This is a great album to have playing while doing work that requires concentration. I discovered Brian Enoβs ambient work some time ago. I also listen to Tim Heckerβs ambient work. In fact, I have Eno and Hecker on an βambientβ playlist already.
Good one. Running up that Hill is the obvious standout. The other tracks are not ones I felt I needed to hear again. Three stars.
Great record. First track - Chameleon - has melodies I remember. Second track - Watermelon Man - is delightfully strange. Third track Sly starts sounding muddy then takes off into another world. Fourth track - Vein Melter - odd name for a cool low key tune.
Bland, beige, and morose rock music. Recording quality seems poor and muddy. I donβt understand the allure. Like Arcade Fire, I think I am supposed to really like this band butβ¦ meh. Nothing on this record makes me want to hear it again. One star.
Pretty cool record. No stand-out tracks or hooks but I think I would listen to this again as an ambient album. It has a weird 80s vibe for something from the early-2000s.
This from another era. Feels like itβs right before the time rap changed from being fun to being fun and silly to grumpy and raw.
The album is kind of boring. Lovefool is the obvious standout but it seems to me that this song is overplayed everywhere and I am pretty sure I would be happy if I never heard it again. Iron Man cover is sort if interesting but nothing to write home about. One star.
Stone cold classic.
Sweet Dreams is the obvious standout. Everything else is ok. Might listen again sometime.
Pretty good. Nice background music. Might listen again.
Pretty good. Will likely listen again. Some bits get a bit repetitive - but I guess that's the point.
First track is interesting. The rest is meh.
Why is this on the list? Garbage. Zero stars if I could.
Heavy Bill Withers vibes. This is a really great soul record. Lots of instrumental. Experimentation is tasteful and interesting. Definitely will listen again
First track was the best. Production seemed really good. Iβd listen again - maybe with translated lyrics.
Quintessential 80s album.
Not my cup of tea. Gives me anxiety.
Mostly insufferably boring.
"Do it Again"... oh, that's Steely Dan! "Dirty Work"... oh, that's Steely Dan too! "Reelin' in the Years" This one too! Great sounding album. Four stars
Meh. Itβs ok but I donβt hear the greatness.
not really my jam
This is definitely a great album.
It was OK. probably will not listen again.
Uh. Cβest un classique.
Very good. The first track is one that I have heard a thousand times but never knew where it was from. Now I do. Cool.
Pretty good. Not really my cup of tea. Likely will not listen again.
Mr. Soul is the obvious stand-out that you still hear 55 years later. The rest of the tracks feel like unfinished-yet-cold-be-great songs.
It's ok. Better than 1969's The Velvet Underground. Not bad for some interesting ambient music.
Wow this sounds great - lot's of acoustic sounds.
Interesting but likely not memorable.
Fantastic record. Definitely plan to listen to this again and take-in all the lyrics.
Sounds progressive for 1985. Nothing really stands-out to me.
Pretty good. Might come back to this one.
Some big hits here. Still had some of the very early rock-and-roll sound. They were just beginning to get musically interesting.
Meh
No review needed.
Super Strange. Iβve already listened to this many times. Still donβt know what to make of it. Seems like something that is forgettable OR will be come to know as his crowning achievement.
Ok. First trackβs shifting time signatures was off-putting.
It's ok.
I just cannot get in to Punk rock music. I do try.
Pretty good.
Nice record. Sounds great. Three stars.
meh
Iβve heard this before. Itβs in the same category as Soeaker Boxx. Good rap.
Cool record. Will listen again.
Fucking shite. Greatest musical hoodwink of all time.
Wouldn't it be Nice and God only Knows are the obvious standouts. The rest is decidedly meh. Why is this album a classic? Just those two songs? 2/3 stars.
Cool. Reminds me of Paul Simonβs Graceland and Rythm of the Saints.
Very cool. Retro futuristic. Will listen again. Three Stars.
Meh.
One hit. Rest was weird.
Pretty much a classic.
Pretty cool
Very awesome.
Just as meh as all the Velvet Underground albums.
Kinda cool. Will listen again.
Interesting and quirky... maybe even a bit silly.
Two undeniable classics: Superstition and You Are the Sunshine of My Life. The rest is pretty mundane should music. Three stars.
Very cool. Very cool.
Excellent... subtle vibes.
Mega classic.
Super grunge classic.
Wow. Very cool 80s. It has the 80s sounds but none of the cheese. Not sure how that works. Three stars
Pretty cool electronic and sample-heavy. Nice ambient for coding/working.
Mβeh
not bad
Classic
Classic eighties rock.
Must listen again soon.
This is the kind of punk I like.
very nice. a classic.
Quite good. Will listen again.
I've this in my collection since the nineties. Excellent.
Textbook dethmetal. Cool.
pretty good
I guess people will be singing along with, and dancing to, most of the songs on this album until the end of time.
M'eh. Not sure why this is on the list.
Kind of boring.
m'eh
not bad. Jazz new wave.
Not bad. A bit dated now. Kind of repetitive. 3 out of 5.
Solsbury Hill is the standout. The rest is ok.
It's ok. I was not in to Blur back in the day. Still seems a bit boring to me.
Boring
Great album. So many songs I know that I didn't realize was the same artist. let alone on the same album.
Its OK. The Girl from Iponema - of course - is a standout.
Boring
I don't think I am the target audience for this one but it sounds great.
"Piece of my Heart" is the one memorable song. Interesting live recording but mostly forgettable for me.
Greatness. Definitely a classic.
Excellent. Definitely worth repeated listens to parse the lyrics and to hear the inmates' reactions. Tres cool.
Two fantastic songs. The rest sadly forgettable.
Like a Prayer is a banger. Interesting that I think most of the world will be unfamiliar with the version of Express Yourself on the album - this is not the version we know from the music video. Cherish is good. The rest is m'eh. This 1989 album definitely feels like it is straddling the 80s and the 90s.
Very good. Needs another listen.
Great album. Still sounds fresh. So many hits.
Wow. Very good bluesy hippie folk. Recording is amazing. Def will will listen again.
Nice ambient Latin electronica? Cool. Will listen again.
Starts interest. Gets weird (You Need your Head). Dogfight Giggle... umm. This album is just some kind of weird experiment.
ok
One of the greatest rock albums ever. In Van Halen's discography, it is second only to their debut album.
Classique
Not bad.
Meh
Not bad. Great example of early 80s new wave
Very goog. Seven Nation Army is the obvious standout but the rest is also great.
I don't get the infatuation with Leonard Cohen.
Itβs a good album. I like it but I donβt believe to be deserving of the masterpiece label it seems to have.
Truly great. 10 out of 5 stars.
Mβeh
Hot garbage. Why is this even on the list? Pretty bland and unoriginal hiphop.
classic
Awesome.
Very nice.
Ok.
Very nice.
Itβs Neil Young. Itβs good. Not sure why itβs on the list.
Classic.
One memorable song
One song. Rest is ok.
Not sure why this is on the list
forgettable
What a tremendous bore.
meh
