I was excited when I first started this record playing, because I think there should be more instrumental music and so often good music is spoiled when an artist opens their mouth. However, my excitement was quickly turned into irritation by all the extra noises that were repeated throughout the album.

I am not a fan of the early keyboard sound and it makes the rhythm track feel very juvenile or artificial. The better part, his vocals, gets lost beneath it.
I gather he was trying to make a great point, but never seemed to quite get to it. As for the music, he seemed to think adding quirky noise would make it interesting and it just didn't.
It would be a good album to play in the background. Of a cheese tasting.
The distillation of the '90s in the USA.
Good storytelling. I am no hip hop aficionado, but it seems well made and mixed for its time. It may have emotional impact that is lost with the overproduction of more modern albums.
Very pleasant. Especially good for listening to at bedtime.
Maybe this album has some historical importance that I am too young to grasp, but looking back from 2024 it seems generic. It isn't bad, precisely, just ordinary.
I did not like this album, I am not sure why not.
Very representative of its time.
Quietly groovy. I appreciated all the instrumental parts and songs, something that has become unfortunately rare.
Not their best work, but not bad either. Just unremarkable for the most part.
I know 1001 albums is a lot of albums, but not sure how this one was significant enough to make the cut.
Bloody awful. The turntable needle dragging sound made my ears bleed.
Smooth and easy.
Monotonous.
Fun album.
Under appreciated among their albums.
Surprisingly enjoyable. Pop is not my style usually.
I am no fan of hip-hop so am not qualified to judge this album. It seems representative of the music of the time.
I assume that in 1001 albums there are multiple of Led Zeppelin. This one is not their best.
Flower children under the influence of Gilbert and Sullivan. Awful. My ears hurt before the end, literally, their microphones picked up a horrible whistle/buzz from the sitar, I think.
Solid. Sounds like the music of the time. Maybe it was first. Not my style.
Some of this album is genuinely ok, the rest is obnoxious and overuses odd noises.
This list seems to be obsessed with the sounds of the 60's, even though this one is from 1980.... It isn't bad on its own merit just kind of generic.
Good for background music. Lyrics are pretty thin.
Mediocre, to the edge of boring.
This music is lively and fun for a song or two, but after that it becomes grating. They were having fun playing with new technology and with random sounds, it is just too cacophonous
Smooth and easy. Good to play in the background.
Good blend of sound from blues and rock.
Awful. If I had seen the movie it may have been better. Seems to be about a black man selling drugs? Lame. Not sure what the rationale is for placing this on the list. Certainly could have died happily without hearing it.
Meh. Way too long, did not finish.
Finally an album I was glad to discover!
I know they are historically significant, but I have never been able to get into them.
Overhyped.
Redundant. Sounds like a hundred albums that came before.
Oh, goody, another British rock band. Maybe this one will sound different than the previous five. Nope.
Good stuff.
Yawn.
Meh.

Good, but not their best.
Bland.
There is a lot of music in the world, why does this list need so much punk?
Awful.
Definitely could have lived without enduring this.
Not sure why this album is on here when we already had Machine Head with the same songs.
