1001 Albums Summary

I enjoyed a few songs, but most of the album wasn't my style. Prince is a brilliant song writer, but this album didn't showcase that, in my opinion.

This is a better Prince album, in my opinion. It reminds me of the late 80s.

I enjoyed the second half of this album more than the first half. Sometimes I was reminded of the Talking Heads or Mumford and Sons. Not bad.

I was surprised at the musicality of this metal album. Some of the guitar sounded melodic and bluesy, not something I expected from Black Sabbath. I especially liked Planet Caravan.

Everything about this album makes me happy, from the title, to the songs, to the artistry. Miles Davis was a master at his craft and a forerunner in jazz trumpet. Smooth.

What a unique voice. Her style and sound were so varied, that I thought she had several different guest artists at first. At times she sounded like Chet Baker and at others like Grace Slick from Jefferson Airplane. I was excited to read that she played the piano, as well. Overall an interesting listen, but I probably won't listen again.

The songwriting and music on this album sound high quality. I just don't care for the talk-singing style. Maybe that's an unpopular opinion, since it's Leonard Cohen, but I just can't get into it.

Meh. That's all I have to say about that.

Reggae sounds light and easy even when dealing with the heaviness of politics. I enjoyed this and recognized several of the songs from pop culture. This sounded like a summer day.

I don't need this. I'm sure Dr. Dre made a difference in music culture with this album, but I can do without all the foul language. Not my style.

I like Genesis, and this album is interesting. The instrumentation is first rate, but I think they may have tried too hard to be creative and different. Maybe drugs played a part. That said, I still enjoyed many of the songs, particularly on the second half of this double album.

This album reminded me of Gary Numan at times, and I liked the music. It was very repetitive though.

Nah. I felt this didn't showcase Ozzy's unique sound, and the songs were just plain boring.

Americana at its finest. This album is full of songs that I sang along with in highschool, so it holds a lot of memories. Although Bruce Springsteen doesn't have the best singing voice, I feel like his songwriting and lyrics make up for that. His music make me feel something inside that's hard to explain, maybe nostalgia, maybe pride or longing, but I think that's why I like it.

Harry reminds me of Billy Joel in his songwriting and vocals. He has some classics on here that I enjoyed.

This was fun! It was unique and varied. Some of the sound quality was poor, kind of buzzy or distorted, but I enjoyed the 1970s Bollywood sound.

Interesting voice. The first song caught my ear, because her singing style is so different, but then all the songs after that sounded too similar. Meh.

This guy can't really sing, but I still love it. The lyrics are interesting and catchy and I laughed out loud more than once.
