Nick Cave has so much to say and does it so beautifully. This album is a treat to listen to.
Really loved all the tracks on this album - some of which I'd never heard before... Such virtuoso instrumentalists - a guitar act to aspire to.
A surprise to hear this old chestnut but a great listen. I don't think I'll be re-listening very often but I thoroughly enjoyed remembering this album.
I enjoyed the tracks I already knew - for nostalgic reasons, I guess. The ones I didn't remember seemed to be for good reason...
I don't think this album benefitted from concentrated listening... OK for background music but not my fave.
Some full-on favourites from a by-gone age. Great to re-visit this once-favourite album.
Truly one of my favourite albums. Got the vinyl version back in the early 80's and know each and every track. I haven't listened to it for years so it was an absolute treat to be reminded of early years with my lover (now husband of 40 years!!)
Catchy rhythms which I enjoyed but probably not ideal in the work environment!!
I did listen to the whole album but I don't think it will be on my playlist.
Loved this album and continued listening to Peter Frampton for the rest of the day!
I don't think this is their best album but I enjoyed listening to it (in a throwback way...)
I'd forgotten how good Taylor Swift's lyrics are. I really enjoyed this while album. Some of her best are on it.
Not for me. They felt like pot boilers and I didn't like this album at all.
Strangely, this album grew on me as I listened to it (having thought initially I couldn't bear to hear the whole thing). Maybe listening is like tasting? You need to try a new flavour several times before the get to like it?
Such an old favourite album. Loved listening to it - little head bobs at work!! Singalong time.
I think they were building up to their best bits!!
It's just not my bag. I know it's much loved, but not by me...
I hadn't listened to this whole album before but have added it to my playlist (on the better late, then never basis)!
I know this is a wonderful album but I'd forgotten quite how good it is and it was a treat to listen to it in full again. Definitely a 5 star album for me
Loved listening to this album. Rumours has always been a staple so this was a great addition to my Fleetwood Mac experience.
I feel biased towards this album because of Iggy Pop, but didn't enjoy it.
Not my cup of dated 60's tea..
Mixed reaction to your album. Some tracks made me want to dance - others didn't catch my attention.
Absolutely love this album - so much so that Landslide was played at my daughter's funeral... And the other tracks still manage to lift my spirits, which they have done since I was listening to Rumours at school.
So much energy... And lyrics in the case of Circle Jerks! I didn't think I knew the band but I had definitely heard and enjoyed "Beverly Hills" before. It took me back to my teenage years and I loved it.
Not my cup of tea but glad to have my listening expanded.
Loved listening to this album. Reminisced about seeing him at Glastonbury and continued to enjoy hearing his huge playlist all day!!
I thought I looked this album more than 3 stars but a proper listen to it was sadly a bit disappointing
Lovely old stuff. I knew more than I expected to considering I have never chosen to listen to Al Green ever before.
It's exciting, lovely music. Not what I'd sit and listen to usually, but I bet it was fantastic live.
I now know why people fall in love with Finley Quaye music. What a lovely album.
Unmemorable!
So many great tracks that I hadn't realised were by Steely Dan! I really enjoyed this album. An oldie but a goodie.
I was underwhelmed by this album.
If this album had been made 20 years earlier it would have been very exciting but I suffered from deja vu...
This album grew on me throughout the day.
Enjoyed listening to this album all day. Old style "rap" (?) turns out to be something I really like!!
Really only liked Pacific 202. That's not enough to raise the stars...
This was new to me (apart from 1 track) and I really liked it. It was background music but I will re-listen.
This is a great album. (So that's how you spell Mellon Collie!!
Absolutely brilliant album. I loved everyb track and recognised a surprisingly high number of them (considering it was from 1965!).
Didn't listen to the whole album which sums it up for me really.
Loved this album. Good old Pogues kept me lively as day.
Great album.
REM two days running has been great.
New to me. Easy to listen to - good lyrics, nice toons. I'll keep going with Elliott!!
What an absolute treat to listen to this album again.
Electronic enhanced music.
All covers and none as good as the originals.
This music made me feel as though I was at a spa rather than an airport... Very soothing.
Good, old fashioned blues.
Old school American punk. I was sorry to read that the lead singer died only 12 days ago ...
Untemarkable
Never listened to this album before but knew most of the exciellent tracks.
Nicely dated 1960's album. Folk county nursery??
Fantastic album
Great album
Virtually no lyrics but still good to listen to....
Rather strange combo of musical styles - covering 60's to 70's.
First tracks nearly put me off the whole album but then Queen at their finest.
Never heard this before but really enjoyed it. The name "War" is misleading - it's a very cool, laid back album.
Quelle horreur
Amazing album and heard today that Alanis is playing Glastonbury so looking forward to seeing her live in June 2025!
Rock Bottom indeed... Dire.
I really loved this album. What a tragic end to a short but productive life Nick Drake had. Five Leaves is a great collection of songs. Lovely lyrics and such beautiful music. I have now listened to the whole back catalogue.
Nick Cave has so much to say and does it so beautifully. This album is a treat to listen to.
Not my cup of tea. I can hear the skill but didn't enjoy listening to it.
Less enjoyable than I remembered.
Medium rare.
Oh Bob - you are a genius xxxx
Not listened to Stephen Stills on his own before but loved the echoes (pre-cursor) of Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young.
An old classic punk album and one of the best
Oof - not for me.
Wow - the precursor I Bob Dylan and Di many more artists. What an incredible album. It made my day.
Didn't enjoy this album but did listen to it.
The good tracks are great. The others, not so much!
Cool album that still holds it's own all these years later.
What a brilliant album. Quite varied tracks but all so good. Wonderful to hear it in full again.
Mostly good tracks - very Radiohead!!
Walls of sound.
This music is equivalent to overfilled lip plumpers for me. The initial musical skills are over-tweaked until they're unattractive.
Sounds like the emperor's new clothes looks... Unless Lou Reed makes an appearance.
Such a mood boosting, toe tapping, dance inducing album.
Never heard of this album but I love all the tracks and am familiar with all bar one of them. It's like the starter to Goodbye Yellow Brick Road... Exciellent album.
I was driving throughout this album and it didn't disturb me!!
Loved the well known tracks but found the other bits very tepid...
Really enjoyed this whole album. Despite not having heard iit before, I knew most of the great tracks.
Fantastic album. Much loved for many years and one of the few of these 1001 albums that we have owned since it was released!
Warming up to his mega-album!
Not for me but my Ghanaian colleague loved having Fela to listen to at work and told me all about him (Protest singer and his elderly mother effectively killed by the army when she was thrown out the window...)
Where has this album been in my life? I loved it. In fact, I think once I've become familiar with the tracks, it will rise to a 5-star album. Lovely to be introduced!
Good old Steely Dan. I don't know their albums but it's great to listen to.
I hadn't come across this band before so I'm glad this album came up for me.
Parts are great...
Cracker of an album
I'd forgotten how many good tracks Peter Gabriel has. It was a treat to listen to this album.
I like the big famous tracks but not really a fan of the genre.
I remember why this band is so good when I listen to this album. It really is a banger!!
Great album. Lovely to hear it again.
I was surprised at how much I enjoyed this album.
