Illmatic
Nasmy first that I've listened to before! an absolute, absolute classic rap album with absolutely incredible flow, lyrics, and production, definitely one of the best rap albums oat.

rip legend, ozzy osbourne! 22-7-25 with that set aside, this was actually a pretty cohesive and enjoyable project. 9.2/10
It's cool. Like the stories, but honestly nothing too crazy here.
pretty weird album, i guess i just don't really vibe with it
Really, really love these 90s instrumental hip-hop albums. Reminds me of Nujabes / J. Dilla, and very influential as well. Didn't get 5 stars because it didn't absolutely blow my mind away, but well-deserved 4.5 stars.
i like bjork. bjork is good.
Guns N' Roses does what many other hard rock bands cannot - balance an unapologetically punk attitude, with emotion, meaning, and lyrics that truly reflect the cynical attitude of 1980s LA - raw, hedonistic, and alienated. “Welcome to the jungle, it gets worse here every day / You learn to live like an animal in the jungle where we play” “They’re out to get me / They won’t catch me / I’m [...] innocent” “I used to do a little but a little wouldn’t do it, so the little got more and more”
it's okay
the first track is genuinely mind-blowing
somewhat generic sounding, but it sounds good, so who cares.
my first that I've listened to before! an absolute, absolute classic rap album with absolutely incredible flow, lyrics, and production, definitely one of the best rap albums oat.
just so, so boring and derivative. no-replay value for me unfortunately
my ears hurt
Some tracks are lowk really quite good, e.g. How I Could Kill a Man, and the sound style is very, very influential. With that being said, the second-half of the album ended up just blending together and becoming somewhat bland, so I didn't really catch any stand-outs - it just started sounding like noise.
Well, as a classically trained musician, I can't exactly rate this too low, can I?
i love this guy, paul simon
3/5 for influence.
lowk was really really tired when listening to this, but what i heard sounded pretty damn good im negl
There's something always endearing about listening to earlier projects of artists. In fact, sometimes I like it even more than their most acclaimed album (like Section 80 w/ Kendrick). That is not the case here, so the 5 star rating will be reserved for the other Tribe Called Quest album.
ya like jazz?
just boring and uninspired, in my opinion. also, why is the band called Japan if they have nothing to do with Japan?
don't overthink it God Only Knows and Wouldn't it be Nice are literally all-time great tracks, and the rest of the album doesn't slack off either.
really nice. not much to say - it's a classic record, and it has respect, soo..
will i listen again soon - no did i enjoy it - hell yes conclusion - 3/5
Beatles = chameleon
hold up..! his writing is fire?
I listened to that entire album and genuinely can't remember a single track I listened to.
nothing short of a masterpiece of vocal performance that leaves behind a titanic legacy.
I've heard great things about this album, but for me, while being enjoyable, it simply wasn't all that memorable.
this album is like 50% mid and 50% pure awesome peak amazing best thing ive ever heard. who cares about the mid? the peak is remembered and immortalized forever. 8/10
this album is like when you're in a shitty abandoned parking lot watching the most beautiful sunset you've ever seen 10/10
ya like jazz? edit: ok, I listened to this a few more times, and can definitely say that jazz grows on you. 7.5/10
strong start, weaker finish
very, very raw - most tracks are a hit or miss for me.
cmon its literally ABBEY ROAD 10/10
this is another one of those folk albums where its enjoyable when you're listening and then you look back and realize you can't remember any of the tracks. 6/10
almost goes off the rails but manages to stay on in the end. 8/10
pretty boring, besides like 2 of the tracks. 5/10
7/10 very goth
ill be listening to it, and ill be like, okay okay i get the point that's enough and then i look and there's still 8 tracks and a part of me dies inside 2/10
its like bad radiohead still decent - 6/10
bass + hiphop = good album more bass + hiphop = great album my experience in alt-hiphop in a nutshell good album - 8.5/10
tightest set of tracks ive heard during this journey so far absolutely no bad tracks here perfection - 10/10
my first exposure to sonic youth was absolutely pretty crappy but this album is actually decent 6.5/10
bri'ish raves 6/10
good ol' 50s jazz vibes that are immaculate as always 7.9/10 just cus im not too good at distinguishing b/w jazz tracks
i read a review about this being music for ford ads and now i cant get the idea out of my head and i hate it and it instantly reduced my enjoyment by 50% 5.4/10
incredibly self-indulgant i love it 8.2/10
you know what, maybe I'm just not a fan of British hard rock, and that's okay. can't love everything!
we are out of the rock-pocalypse :tada: soft pop
rip legend, ozzy osbourne! 22-7-25 with that set aside, this was actually a pretty cohesive and enjoyable project. 9.2/10
moving, beautiful, music wonderful - 10/10 these last few days have been the generators apology for the miserable spell it put me through before that
classic rock record, legendary solo, has some forgettable tracks though
there's nothing wrong with the album perse (besides it being pretty boring), but it doesn't belong on the list.
I love q-tip 9.1/10
not usually a fan of britpop, but this album is just fun 8.5/10
definitely one of the rock albums of all time. could have went without hearing it before I die, tbh
un-musical, boring, and depressing. -100/10 i would give it a 0 if I could
paul simon is a master of combining unusual chord progressions with strong melodic sense and songwriting. it's fair to say that he has earned his spot as one of the most renowned lyricists in Western popular music. 8.5/10
well, it was definitely a piece of music. moderately enjoyable! I'm thinking.. 6.1/10
can't understand a word they're saying, but the vibes are simply immaculate
7.5/10
the sound isn't terribly unique, nor memorable
it's just alright. the tracks feel a little bit scattered and all over the place, though.
very ethereal, sound that somehow still ends up being cohesive. quite enjoyable - 8.2/10 shame that it's not on Spotify anymore though. Could someone like this review when its back?
well, it's just fine. not really sure what the hype around Rolling Stones is about
almost didn't make it all the way through this boring, un-original, slop-filled work. felt more like a collection of loud, annoying songs than an actual album. 1.5/10
A shame that someone with such undeniably great music also happens to be Morrissey. With that being said, I can't overlook the undeniable quality of the music. 3/5 Remove some of the questionable lyrics and have another artist, and it's probably at least an 8/10
very dissonant - really embodies gothic rock quite well
again, this morrissey guy is unfortunately very good at making music
there's nothing strictly wrong with this album besides being a generic and pretty uninspired. it's aight.
it got a tad bit TOO experimental at the end
hot take: I did not enjoy this album that much it was just annoying to listen to, and not in the "hard-listening" kind of way, in the "this doesn't sound good and I'm not enjoying it" kind of way
wonderful album - really stays cohesive throughout as well
optional challenge: try to count the number of times the word "funk" is said in this album
its aight
the main problem with this album is that it's too bloated - there's quite a few pointless tracks here and there. the tracks besides those are quite a vibe though. overall, probably around a 6/10?
