Bluesier then the typical Dylan that I like.
Seems to be the start of his transition out of folk.
Not surprisingly, I like the second half more which includes Its All Over Now, Baby Blue.
Have listened to this album many times. Excellent. They don’t make good albums like this anymore.
A little funky for my tastes. I prefer some of their other albums. Only liked last two songs.
Pre thoughts: don’t like blues, it’s the same couple of riffs over and over in every song. Hank’s song in the Office ruins blues like Dewey Cox ruins biopics.
Half way thoughts: I really don’t like blues. No structure like jazz or jam bands. Just not for me.
Final thoughts: Before this exercise, I definitely wouldn’t have guessed that I like Romanian Death Metal more than blues. Hated it more than I expected to.
Knew most of the songs already. One of my top Bowie albums. Not usually a fan of covers unless they are drastically changed. Why is lets spend the night together here.

Went in thinking it’d be a 1 star. Still felt that way after first half as every song just seemed the same (only so much you can do with drums which is why I don’t really like modern hip hop). Second half kind of clicked and I enjoyed the last 3 songs or so. Probably closer to a 2.5 for me which is saying something but I’ll round up to 3.
It’s pretty much one song - and it’s a good song - sung over and over with some slight change to the tempo and some different chords. I like it, but there’s only so much you can do with one acoustic guitar and drums.
Started off great and thought it was going to be a hidden gem for me as I didn’t know of the songs from this album, but fizzled out a bit. Suzanne is one of my favorite songs of all time but this album didn’t quite do it for me.
Not really into that whole San Francisco sound. I’m hippie-ish but not this hippie-ish. This album generator experience is really telling me that I like structured music. Give me verses and choruses. This album doesn’t have many.
I forgot how good their first two albums are before they really leaned into the pop side. This is pop too, but it has enough verve and feeling to keep it interesting. Kind of reminded me of Pablo Honey, and while Radiohead went on to be incredibly inventive and groundbreaking, Coldplay did the opposite. 3.5 up to 4.
Laughed out loud 5 seconds into the first song. What a time capsule. Definitely listened to this on my discman when I was in 8th grade. 1.5 stars.
Not my favorite type of music but can respect it. Couple songs that I liked. Thought I’d like it more than I did. Last couple songs almost dropped it to 1 star.
Could be decent background music but nothing I would listen to just to listen to it.
Liked it a lot, some great unique guitar playing. Of all the albums I’ve listened to for this project, this has the most new songs that I’ve found that I like.
Second album skip after two songs. No way I’m listening to an hour of this.
5 or 6 incredible songs and the rest is so so. A double album, it means a lot of songs I was very nonchalant about. 4.5 up to 5.
Kind of like it more than I was expecting but would probably never listen again. Janie’s got a gun is good. 2.5 down to 2..
Couple of gems but jamming, ambient Bowie isn’t my favorite Bowie.
Ooph these guys are angry.
Very solid. No real stand out songs but everything pretty good. Very impressive for first album since it sounds like he wrote, produced, and played every instrument
Was shocked when a cover of Changes came on. Dug it.
Started it and loved it and quickly went downhill. I bet boomers love this.
60 minutes of any one instrument is a bit much.
California Dreamin is a classic and I Call Your Name is great but nothing else really grabbed me. How do you rate an album with an all-time classic and not much else? Has to be at least 3 stars right?
It’s definitely a lot of noise.
Enjoyed it. Started running together at the end but I liked it
If this has razzmatazz or common people, it’s probably a 5 star.
Liked it way more than I expected. Thought it was going to be generic arena rock and it wasn’t. Usually don’t like live albums either. Dug it.
Two absolute classics in Tom Sawyer and limelight. Everything else was fine. 3.5/5 but where does it round to?
Solid, kind of a mix of Pulp, Oasis, and early Radiohead.
