1001 Albums Summary

An all time great album and an excellent one to start this project with. Such intricate songs. Really hope I get to see this stage production someday.

Not really my thing but can’t deny the musicianship and intricacies to this album. Doubt I’ll ever go back to it but that’s just due to tastes and preferences.

Again not typically my thing but unlike the Zappa one I’d pop this on again maybe. Some all time classic songs on this one too. Iron Maiden’s songs are a bit more musically interesting than I remembered.

Some all time classic songs. Album overall is a bit bloated though. Plus Anthony Kiedis is a real gross dude and by far my least favorite part of this band. Could’ve been a 5 star otherwise.

Wonderfully repetitive and lots of lyrics about shaking

Never heard of this one before. Really really liked it.

Some great stuff. Some boring stuff. Clapton is of course guitar Jesus so all of that sounds good. But sometimes it’s the only interesting part of a song.

Weird in a great way. Seems like this would’ve influenced a lot of modern music I like.

I am entirely not a fan of post 9/11 country and this album was way back in 1988. But this album plays like modern country with pandering lyrics and some fairly uninteresting musicality. Won’t catch me singing Dixie. Not for me.

Just an all time classic. Peak southern rapping from Big Boi. Andre at the top of all of his powers. Would give more stars if I could.

Pretty but forgettable

Always liked The Offspring but never loved them. Solid album. Some iconic early pop punk songs

Not a lover of REM. But definitely like this one the best. Lots of arpeggios. They must dig those. I think I now see that’s the connection from them to Radiohead.

I’m starting to like jazz. But I don’t know what makes it good or not yet. I like this album pretty well but it’s a long listen.

Never met a Led Zeppelin song I didn’t like

I listened to the wrong one but it was great. This one is just way too long so I’m carrying on and rating the one I listened to by accident.

It was fine. I mean it’s David Bowie so a lot is expected. So maybe that’s not totally fair.

This was pretty cool. Can definitely hear the influences stemming out of this one.

I can dig this in smaller doses maybe
