Third/Sister Lovers
Big Star
An interesting experience. It evidences a band sprawling with creativity and interesting ideas. In my opinion, it is the acoustic and slower renditions that take the spotlight in Third, with beautiful compositions, vulnerable lyrics and thoughtful melodies. Some of the ideas don't really work ("Downs"), but all in all, it's a very enjoyable piece of work, albeit slightly inconsistent.

The Wildest!
Louis Prima
I read that the album cover matches the vibe of the music and I couldn't agree more!
The Wildest! offers a very fun set of songs, and the charismatic personality and voice of Prima help make this collection of swing very memorable and enjoyable.

War
U2
I had listened to this record back in high school, during my formative years (music taste wise).
It's a solid record altogether, with undeniable hits such as Sunday Bloody Sunday and New Year's Day.
As a full length U2 project, this is my second favorite, behind Achtung Baby (one of my favorite records ever), but I can't deny that revisiting War has been a very pleasing experience. U2 rocked.

People's Instinctive Travels and the Paths of Rhythm
A Tribe Called Quest
One of my favorite artists ever. The impact Tribe has had in shaping hip hop as a sophisticated genre is undeniable. Their debut album was a sign of things to come: youthful energy, clever bars and great beats.
Undoubtedly, they would take it to the next level in Low End Theory and even farther in Midnight Marauders, but People's Instinctive Travels is a very inspired first entry in the legendary group's discography.
Absolute classic!

It didn't really click for me, I did not find it as interesting as other Electronic records.

Smile
Brian Wilson
What a beautiful record! I like the Beach Boys a lot and I can see why BWPS can be as divisive as it is, regarding its authenticity.
However, as a body of work, it's a cohesive, engaging and even magical record.
One can't help but imagine how it might have shaken the music scene if it were released in 1968, which kind of relegates BWPS as an interesting relic of one of the most legendary recording sessions in popular music history.
A must listen!

Stories From The City, Stories From The Sea
PJ Harvey
One of the first albums I listened to and the 1001 Albums list made me come back to it. Still feels as fresh and sophisticated as when I discovered it.

Rid Of Me
PJ Harvey
It was my first time listening to this record. In contrast to Stories from the City, Stories from the Sea; Rid of Me follows a more visceral style: less sophisticated, more in your face.
I liked it a lot, another highlight in PJ's discography.

First time that I've listened to this artist.
I have thoroughly enjoyed this record. The vocal harmonies are the greatest highlight and the melodies and compositions feel dreamy and otherworldly. One of my favorite discoveries in quite a while.

As mind blowing as the first time I listened to it. As a young teen, learning to play guitar, this record was a very important first influence for me.

Blackstar
David Bowie
I can remember where I was and what I was doing the first 2 times I listened to Blackstar. On release day, I thought it was an interesting venture by Bowie into a more experimental terrain. However, after his passing the lyrics started to make sense and to this day, I still feel amazed by the fact that even in the face of death, Bowie decided to turn his own mortality into his final artistic expression.
Truly amazing and it marked me to this day.
