Every Good Boy Deserves Fudge
Mudhoneyaltrock, 2 not my thing. vocals annoying.
altrock, 2 not my thing. vocals annoying.
surprisingly got into it around song 4 (Nite Klub) don't really know or like ska but it was decent I don't know if i'd listen to it again though
The whole is greater than the sum of its parts (Not meaning the album itself)
Apparently I like reggae, I didn't know that. Fantastic album.
This is so not my thing that no matter how wide I try to open my mind, I just can't appreciate it properly.
The faster songs are a lot more successful than the ballads, somehow his voice worked much better for the slow songs when he was a bit older (eg Can't Help Falling in Love) But the rock'n'roll songs are great fun.
I've already heard this a million times since it used to be one of my sister's favorites but it's not something I'd willingly experience ever again.
I've never even heard of this band. I loved the music and hated the vocals. The groove in Friction was amazing and the second half of the title track (where it's instrumental) 👌
I quit during track 4. If all of the album was like track 2 then it would be a 5 star, and it would be an album that I listen to all the time. Alas, I'll probably never know because track 4 was so horrible that I had to stop. (didn't like the first one either)
3.5 Enjoyable
I really liked the music (except for Parade, I really don't know what were they thinking), though the song would be even better if they were all in Portuguese, but it's hard to articulate how much dislike her voice.
4.5 My first real "heavy metal" cd was We Sold Our Soul for Rock 'n' Roll, so BS is an absolute cornerstone in my music listening. But it's been decades since I last heard this. Though my favorite Sabbath, this is still magnificent. (Changes is a good song, it just does not fit where it is on the album). RIP Ozzy.
3.5 I was already familiar with this album, like would be too strong a word. I think I like Tom Waits in smaller doses, this is too long for sure. 'Hang Down Your Head' and 'Time' I especially enjoyed
At first I thought 'what the f...?' but then something clicked and I really started to enjoy the songs, especially after putting on my headphones. I ended up loving this album (despite not liking the vocals that much). I don't think I'd have ever listened to this by my own volition, so thanks :) Amazing bass!
It's perfectly nice, very inoffensive. If I listened to the radio and any of the songs would come on, I'd not run out of the room, but it's not something I'd really want to hear again. The songs sorta blend into each other and there's nothing extra in there to make them interesting or memorable.
Pretty damned great
Already knew and love the album.
There's nothing new to be said. I love The Beatles. I love this album. I really enjoy the 2019 mix.
I used to not like this at all, but I thought enough time has passed, I've changed a lot so I should give it another go... I still don't like it at all.
I hadn't heard this album since I was about 15, when this band stopped being interesting. This was a very long time ago. I was more into The Exploited anyway. I understand its significance, however it's basically just one very long (too long) song. It's okay in small doses.
I'm extremely late to the Duran Duran party, but boy oh boy what an album! I don't know what the original sounds like because Tidal only has the 2009 remaster, but it sounds fantastic, especially the bass. (though Hungry Like a Wolf always makes me think of the Bruce Campbell Old Spice commercial)
It's okay. If you've heard one song, you've basically heard them all, there's no variety whatsoever. Same tempo, same lyrical content. I liked the title track the most. I also liked his voice.
In 2004 I was the world's biggest Opeth fan, so this band has escaped me entirely. They will continue to escape me, because other than the interesting bass line in the first song, it's boring me to tears. The vocalist has no range whatsoever and it was as if I was listening to the same song over and over again.
This is the Scott Walker that I love, not the stuff of nightmares he insisted on calling music. (If this was Drift, that would be the easiest one star I'd ever give). Beautiful voice and great arrangements.
I think I have given this more than a fair try - I almost quit after the third track, but took a break instead - but I find Plant's voice unbearable. No thank you.
3.5 This could easily be a 4 or even a 5 with a better vocalist, as the songs are pretty good. I liked Obvious and Three Days ...but from 1990, Facelift should be here instead.
If the whole album was like the first song, that would be a new favorite for me. Alas, the other songs are very different and it did get boring by the end. Also I'd say it's a bit too long. She has a nice voice and that first song is truly amazing, so I'll check her other albums out.
I am also a Mick Jagger hater.
3.5 The first half is incredible. The songs are much stronger than in the second half. I really didn't like the vocalist, but I guess I could get used to him. I guess Barry Adamson is not completely useless after all?
I don't understand why this album is so revered, I mean it's pleasant enough but that's it. It is unexciting, safe and perfectly nice. there's absolutely nothing wrong with this album, other than it felt like they were playing a 40 minute long song, the songs are so similar.
I'd never heard of this band but from the name I expected something a bit more. This is all bark and no bite. No edge. Very boring
Technically I didn't have to listen to this again, since I know it so well, but I did it anyway. Any excuse, really. 🤘
