Ramones
RamonesYea a lot of the songs are repetitive, so what? Its the Ramones. Do the songs rock? Hell yea they do

Great album. Funky. Groovy. Very Talking Heads.
Elite 80s pop rock. Obviously has hits like Rio and Hungry Like the Wolf. But others Lonley in Your Nightmare and Last Chance on the Stair Way give the album more depth. Not just your Mom's favorite band.
Carried pretty heavily by Baba O'Reily and Behind Blue Eyes. Going Mobile and My Wife are pretty decent tracks.
Is Gimme Shelter the greatest opening track in history? Maybe. Another album with a strong opener and closer with some filler in the middle. Let It Bleed is a strong song in the middle that stops the ablum from lagging, and Monkey Man is a decent penultimate track. Definitely not the Stones best work.
This album is 63 minutes too long. When I think of all the worst parts of the 2010s this is the soundtrack.
Never heard of the artist before, can't understand a word sung. But I can feel the rythym and soul in it.
Yea a lot of the songs are repetitive, so what? Its the Ramones. Do the songs rock? Hell yea they do
This is an album I've had on my radar for a while but have always found it too intimidating. The skill and vision is clear. But i found some of the improv parts to be hectic. Its probably objectively a 4-5 but I'm taking a star for it not being my cup of tea.
Love Neil Young. Definitely not his best work, but still good.
Nice easy listening. A little too folksy even for me. Father and Son is an all-timer
Had never even heard of this band before. As a late 90's baby I listen to a lot of music from this time period and genre, so I was suprised to not know them. Saw some reviews comment on the singer and specifically the lyrics being 'incel-y'. It is kinda just a product of its time, was grunge ever really praised for its lyricism? . Some pretty good rock music all-in-all, I'll probably give it another spin in the future, but in the end its a 3 star album.
Not usually a fan of electronic music outside of Daft Punk. I think I remember this group being popular. Nothing that really stood out.
I like it for what it was. Its not exactly groundbreaking anymore but at the time it was.
Didn't love it. A few songs were alright.
I was familiar with Common the actor/celebrity more than the rapper growing up. I knew Chicagoans always hyped him up. And I think I had listend to this album once in college and didnt think much of it at the time. Amazing what a few years can change. This is an album from a time when hip-hop was rapping. The lyrics and flow carry the album with production that compliments and elevates them. Stand outs: Faithful, Love Is, Chi-City
'I don't get it' is not only one of the best songs on this album and best songs I've heard in a while. It is also my response to some of these reviews. I had never heard of the band before but consider me convinced. They used one microphone? They recorded in a church? Awesome. The lead singer does a lot of heavy lifting here, her vocals are heavenly and seem to float on the accompanying arrangement. But the backing band isn't bad by any means, they just aren't the main show and they know it. -1 for being Canadian.
Chris Cornell is one of the greatest vocalists in Rock and Roll history. Even though I typically prefer Audioslave. Love this album; Black Hole Sun, The Day I Tried to Live, Fell on Black Days all go incredibly hard. Tracks I enjoyed that were newish to me: Like Suicide and 4th of July. It is too long though.
One of the greatest debut albums of all time, its a shame they never really did anything else. Almost every song here is a hit. Some people say it drags at the end but imo the 2 closing songs might bethe best of the album.
Somehow got both Air albums in the first 30 albums. I won't call them bad but I'm not upset that they won't be appearing again on this list; it's just not my cup of tea. I have never seen this movie, I don't know what it is about. I will say I found this to be my preferred album of the two, I liked it way more than I expected. Favorite songs: PLayground Love, Bathroom Girl, Dead Bodies
I had a roommate in college that was a 'dead head' except he only ever played Casey Jones. Sufffice to say that it got old and it made me want to dislike the Dead, but I can't just toss them in the trash heap. They were trailblazers, icons of the hippie movement, and pretty damn good musicians. I'm just glad this a studio album and not a 3 hour live set, which are sick I just have too much to do today. best songs: friend of the devil, ripple
This had some interesting moments but ultimately I felt it was too long and too out there.
Pictures of You makes me miss a love I never felt. This album is such a vibe, I'm just upset I litstened to it at work. Need to give it another listen alone.
I won't say this album does nothing well, BUT I have no idea how it made this list. Recover is the only song keeping this album from getting 1 star. Update, now that I am reaching the end of this album the back half of the album is growing on me, but too little too late. Its still 2 stars, spotify tried to push the Deluxe edition on me and I just couldn't make it through the bonus tracks
Ok I was ready to hate on this because I typically don't care for electonica, with soem notable exceptions. But this is a great groove.
This is a fine album all in all. Dusty has a great voice there is no denying that. But holy-dated-music-Batman, was this sound ever groundbreaking? And its mostly covers.
R.E.M. is fine, and thats about all I am willing to say about them. This album has a few hits I enjoy, End of the World and The One I Love are as famous as they are for a reason. Its a solid album but nothing really eye-opening to me. I'm not sure if I'm just on the wrong side of the Millenial divide on this one or not. It seems like older Millenials rever R.E.M. and their work and to me as a baby millenial/old Gen-Z they're just another radio rock band.
I mean what even is there to say? From the opening seconds this is one of the greatest albums of all time. And I say that as somewhat of a Zeppelin hater. Also, at 42 minutes not a second is wasted. Best tracks: Black Dog, Stairway to Heaven, When the Levee Breaks
This list has a suprising number of movie soundtracks. Previously I knew Earth, Wind, & Fire as the 'Spetember' band. This album is infectiously groovy. Shining Star and All About Love were the standouts.
The Roots are undeniably legends, which seems weird to say as someone who grew up only knowing them as the Tonight Show band. My college roommate turned me onto the Roots. This album is big and has a lot to say, Black Thought is one of the greates rappers of all time. This album has a big idea that works as a whole. Not much I would revisit outside the context of the album. With all the skits and seques and it being a little long I think I'm going to settle at 3/3.5 out of 5
Classic album. This got a ton of rotations while I was in college and that was the 2010s, I wish I had been that age when this came out. Phenomenal blend of rock and hip hop. Even songs like Girls, which I feel is one of the weaker songs, has a great groove. Love this album but not sure I can call it a 5.
