Only listened to the hits before. Turns out: the rest of the album sounds the same, only worse. It gets annyoing pretty quick.

Powerful energy, feels like a live album. Sometimes magic, sometimes annoyingly so. Sounds modern (or timeless?) for the 70s. Probably need a re-listen to catch the lyrics.

Maybe I could appreciate it more if it were a live show - or a musical. But as an LP it‘s mostly silly (and musically quite tame)

To the people surprised about the albums hornyness: It has a car humping an other car with the word „pump“ on it as a cover, what else did you expect! That‘s not my complaint, since hornyness has inspired great music. Still, while Aerosmith might rock the glam metal thing and the members are all capable musicians - I just don‘t manage to like this genre. „Janie’s got a gun“ is decent though.

First listen: This is silly music for nerds. Second listen: This slaps and I am a nerd!

It starts promising with the comfy „So Far Away“ and the tongue in cheek „Money for Nothing“. But from the annoying „Walk of Life“ on its downhill. You know how McCartney had to stop Harrison from playing a guitar lick after every phrase in „Hey Jude“? Well, nobody stopped Mark Knopfler. As great as his playing is: As a non-guitar-player it gets tyring pretty quickly. If at least the rest of the music was more interesting or the singing better ... Add the dated 80s pop aesthetic and there are just too many elements I do not care for.

It's Ye's genius and insanity compressed into one album, which makes it a captivating and baffling listening experience at once. For bette or worse.

I love the moody, well crafted analogue soundscapes and the pushing drum and bass grooves. As others have pointed out, this is a soundtrack first and an LP second. Having not seen the movie, this lessens the exprience.

On paper this should be right up my alley. Maybe I was not in the right mood, but boy: what a drag. It's not even bad, it's just boring. The problem starts with the stupid name which shows a deeper issue I have with this album: There is little room for real, unfiltered sincerity, there is always a certain level of sarcasm. This could be interesting if the band would fully commit to the sarcasm but they also want to be a serious rock band. All in all they deliver competent but lengthy, soulless bit of music.

„Souvenir“ alone would make this a great album.

Upon release, Gilmour said: "Perhaps we were trying to show what Syd was really like. But perhaps we were trying to punish him ..." That very much sums up the listening experience.

I never got into Ryan Adams music. Before I knew anything about this dude I mostly thought it was boring. The album title und cover scream „self indulgent douche“. Having now some surface level knowledge of Ryan Adams private live does not help. In this context every emotion in this collection of songs appears too performative, too calculated. Had to listen to „Motion Sickness“ by Phoebe Bridgers as some form of absolution afterwards.
