I like the musicality and sound mixing of the album -- the instruments all sound super clean and it has a deep sound. That said, some of the songs were immediately annoying just with the way they started. I also am undecided on the singer's voice. It's very much of a kind with Motley. Works for some of the songs, grates for others.
Overall, it's aight -- probably would listen to a few select songs again, but not sure I got the same buzz as the folks who said this album was a must-listen. Honestly, I'd probably really like an instrumental version of this album.
Solid. Listened to it multiple times.
It was okay, had some solid hits in there and others that just kinda passed by (in a blur) without me really noticing them.
This feels like a good album to clean the house to. Like, just turn up the volume and mindlessly work around the house with this on. Also kinda feels like movie montage music for such a scene. Generally, I like it. Not really adding it to my regular listening list. But I can see why people would.
Really liked this one. Good listening in the background as I worked. Can't really articulate it, but the vibe just hit right. Like the sort of echoing, live, full bodied nature of the recording. Would listen again.
Obviously the first song is a hit and easy to listen to. The rest was fine, I didn't get too into it. Wasn't put off by it, just didn't feel pulled into it like I did with some of the other albums.
It's okay, probably would be better in a different environment. It's not great as a background while working.
Love the FOO fighters. Was surprised this album didn't have most of my fave songs, but still solid listening
Solid album, easy to see how she got to be so well known. Love the switch up compared to previous albums too.
Honestly pretty solid, if not just for the nostalgia of this music having been in most of my favorite childhood movies (RIP Chubs)
I could hear some pretty solid music back there and maybe in the right context I'd like this better. But the zaniness of it felt a bit grating and distracting for me.
What's to say about it -- it just hits.
Solid, fun pace and felt like I was playing Madden again.
Good, I liked the grunge guitar and there are some classics on there. That said, probably not listening to this album again anytime soon. Can't really say why, just not making any lists.
I liked this one. Great background music that also was sending me back to early highschool vibes. Will listen again.
Not bad, never heard of em before, so was cool to check it out
TIL that the DRC has the largest population of french speakers in the world, more so than France. Anyway, that's probably the only thing I'll take from this album. It's fine and can be good as background music at a bar, but it's not something I'll seek out.
Actually enjoyed it. Changes is a little too cliche from its overuse in movies and stuff, but the album is fun, musical, and cohesive. Would listen again.
On the face of it, I really like it. It's just pure story telling and I love the way he's able to bring the music in as a part of that story telling (very Wit IFYKYK). Also the context of this being at the end of his career and just months before his death really adds weight to it. I give it a four though because it is a specific mood, not a listen anytime anywhere kinda thing.
Honestly I liked it. Easy to listen to in the background. Musically, probably not the best album we've had so far. But I'd listen to this again, for sure.
Honestly fairly good. I've never heard of them before, but they have a sort of Bowie meets Pink Floyd vibe?
Good. Not really my style, but clearly foundational to a lot of music that I do really like
Not much to say other than its very British. Obviously recognize a few songs, and can see the appeal, but can't say I'll listen again.
I actually liked the vibe, very chill but flowy. Something there if you just want to zoom out and hear the musicality of it, but also something there if you wanna listen to the lyrics and engage on a deeper level.
Not as bad as I expected it to be, just because I'm not a huge country listener. But it was okay.
It's aight. Was okay in the background, but not something I'd listen to otherwise.
Pretty good. Old school, but not quite as kitchy as that style tends to be. Eye Know is pretty solid.
Pretty good, but I don't think I was in the right place for it. The freestyle, stochastic nature of the jazz was a bit distracting as I was working, which made it less enjoyable. But, with some whiskey and friends, probably would be pretty good.
Loved this album. Can't quite put my finger on it, but the orchestral elements just hit perfectly for me.
Solid! The guitar work is perfection and just a good album to have playing in the background
It was good, clearly had all the trappings of The Who that make them great, but admittedly this was not my favorite album of theirs. Some good songs, but nothing that really captured my attention.
Again, pretty good Clapton, where the guitar shines.
It's aight. I can see the good ingredients here, but nothing really grabbed me.
It was okay. I like Suicide and many of the guitar riffs, particularly in the live portion of the album. But I think I woulda liked the album better without the vocals -- the instrumental songs are the strongest part.
I mean, it's a bunch of classics. Not sure how to really rate this -- all well performed songs, not all my favorite renditions but certainly many that I know and enjoy hearing.
Honestly pretty good -- a few of the freeform parts were a bit annoying to my senses, but I feel like there could be value in that if I experience it in the right context.
Solid, grew up on this album. Still listen to gone away regularly.
It's aight, it's just raw, oozing 80's. The classics are fun and good. The rest is fine but forgettable.
You know, it was actually an entertaining album. I've not gone to far into this style of music in the past, but might have to check it out a bit more.
I think I'm just not his target audience. This style of music -- the indie-pop rock melancholy of the early 90s -- just falls so flat for me.
Given their rep, I thought I'd like it more. There's obviously a lot of musicality here, but I'm not digging White's vocal style nor the artsy tracks on the album.
Loved it and listened multiple times
I actually liked it, great as background work music
Surprisingly I enjoyed this one
Got some good classics on it. Can't say I like all the songs, but generally enjoy this album and understand why it's so well liked.
I know I should like this more, it is an album full of hits. But it just didn't land too hard for me. Maybe I've just heard the songs too often?
I've not been huge on Megadeth in the past, but something about this album was just hitting.
Was surprised that none of the classics were on this one. Still, easy listening!
There's a few songs I like, but they never really been my style
Kinda felt like a mixture of Sting and The Killers, but all the songs by these bands that I don't really like.
Surprisingly liked this one. Easy to listen to and solid flow
Liked some of it a lot, was really not vibing other parts of it. Kinda mixed bag
Easy listening, good background music
I mean, it's Jimmy. Doesn't get better.
It's as if REM wanted to be Nirvana
Solid Jazz, easy to enjoy and engage with
Just did not like this. Something about its vibe annoyed me and I couldn't wait for the album to be over.
It's okay, not really a lot to say about it. Didn't hate it, wasn't super locked into it either.
I really don't know how to rate it because I can't listen to it with fresh ears. It's wrapped up in a bunch of childhood memories. I think it is a good album, though.
Stocked with hits, but stands alone as an easy-to-listen-to album. Really enjoyed this one.
It's good, but I think old school hip hop just isn't really my thing
Pretty good, would listen again. Pretty sure this has inspired many of Kenan's skits on SNL.
Solid, easy to get through and great on headphones
Super not into it. The sound quality is great and if you're into it, probably a hell of an experience with good cans. But this one not for me
First half was okay, but the second half lost me completely
If I could give it 0 stars, I would. Idk what its doing on this list.
The album probably deserves a higher rating. But ever since Shiny Happy People came out, the sound of REM has become an instant spawn for anger spren.
It was alright. Not really my style of music, but it sounded like sepia tone 90s.
It's aight. Probably won't listen again, but could easily listen through it.
Not my favorite. Not sure what it was, just didn't hit
Honestly kinda liked it, didn't expect to like it but good listening for the background
