Solid album. Maybe says “baby” a bit much but no bad songs.

Good album. Like the vibe even though a bit samey/too long. Would have given 3.5 stars.

Thoroughly enjoyed! i used to and change yr mind particularly. It could have finished at emotional haircut but last two long ones were also very good. pulse (v.1) smells like a hippy dippy Glasto tent at 3am.

Unrelenting funk! Great vibe! A lack of “songs” maybe. Can’t just put one on, you have to listen to the full album.

Nine Inch Nails have never really done anything for me. 1 star seems harsh as Closer is decent and Hurt is really good but other than that, pretty poor.

I’ll give it a 4 cause I think I like LCD Soundsystem now. Didn’t enjoy it as much as the previous album though. Stand outs - Someone Great, All My Friends and New York I Love You is a great ending

I liked some of the sounds/vibes though was annoying at times. At the end of a Beatles or Tool song is all you probably need. Also, invent some more percussion! A bastard snare or some cymbals wouldn’t go a miss. Fucking bongos…

Classy, suave and charming. Hard to give it less than 4.

Probably a 3.5. The last two songs are probably the best on the album.

Wasn’t sure whether I could stomach a full Queen album but was pleasantly surprised. Plenty of hits, and The Prophet’s Song was a nice find. Fabulous.

Peace Frog probably the best. Enjoyed the funkiness. Waiting For the Sun and Blue Sunday stood out too. Indian Summer has The End vibes which is a ok with me.

Two seems harsh. Nearly bottled it with a 3 but I’m sticking to my guns… I don't like rock n’ roll Elvis! Too generic, and of course he covered Tutti Frutti! I know they all covered each others songs back in the day but there’s too many. I’m Counting On You is the stand out. An album of Elvis ballads would probably get a 4. Book your ideas up, Elvis.

Something quite mysterious and melancholic about Dusty’s voice. Thoroughly enjoyed.

Fun and frantic cooking music

Sometimes hard to give Hole a chance, always going to be overshadowed by Ms Love’s antics. Guilty of thinking they’re riding the Nirvana wave but they’re a good band in their own right. Decent album. Celebrity Skin and Malibu being very strong singles.

Not for me. Time After Time is a classic and really enjoyed All through the Night however.

Soulful, fun and funky (what they should be called). I hope Earth, Wind and/or Fire (not sure which one is which) are receiving some royalties from I’m a Celebrity with the use of that drum jingle!

Good strong singles, can’t argue with them. Too much fat. Could be cut in half.

Tripe! The middle section between Synchronicity II - Wrapped Around Your Finger saved it from a 1 star probably.

Borderline corny cowboy but I don’t mind. Lovely album. Very much enjoyed Come Pick Me Up.

Though maybe not many standout songs, as a whole the album has a cool, sexy vibe to it, which I dig! A band I’ve always overlooked. Maybe 3.5 stars but it gets a 4 as I can definitely see myself listening to them more.

Started off good but did get annoying towards the end. Scrapes a 3 by being Daft Punk.

Cheesy funky fun. Think I enjoy them more when they aren’t singing however. The Want Your Love is a top single. Scraped a 3.

Something really irritated me about this album. I think because I expected more. Just a bunch of silly sounding songs. Sounded more like a compilation of shit b-sides. Nearly got a 2 because of the adverts, I like that concept, but couldn’t justify it.

Pleasant

As close to a 5 as you can get without getting one. A few songs towards the end are a bit weaker but the run of first 6 are excellent. Girlfriend in a Coma was always my favourite The Smiths song when I was younger.

2.75 stars. Better than I expected. Still a bit clingy clangy indie.

Soft rock for mums. Having said that, Beautiful Day is a classic, reminds me of watching Match of the Day as a kid, and You’ve Got to Get Yourself Together is a 5 star banger. Elevation is decent. The rest is pretty bland.

Such a unique, frantic, creepy, funky sound. Born Under Punches is a brilliant opener to an album. And Once in a Lifetime is an anthem.

First 3 songs were decent. Lost me a bit with the gibberish. Was almost as if he was trying too hard to be “psychedelic”. On another day it could’ve got a 3.

Punky folky classic

Maggot Brain has to be one of the best intros ever! For a funk band to a start an album with 10 minute tear jerking solo is outrageous. Then you’ve got your hits like Can You Get To That and Hit It and Quit. Probably a 4.5 stars, but I prefer it to the previous Parliament one.

Drivel

The singer should’ve done an album with Tiny Tim to really annoy the people. Really enjoyed the album. Could easily get a 4 after a few more listens I reckon. 3.5/5

I can see why people love it but it just ain’t for me. Welcome to the Jungle is a great opener and Mr Brownstone is pretty good but other than that I was a bit bored. Sweet Child O’ Mine is what Proud Mary is to Middle Aged white women but for smelly grebs.

I concur. Brings back great memories of Glasto. Not listened to Justice since then but thoroughly enjoyed. You can’t argue, it’s a great dance album.

Pretty forgetful

Solid album. Solid songs. Nice length. Not sure why I can’t give it a 5. Forever comparing to Ziggy Stardust which I shouldn’t do but hey ho.

Always hard to rate jazz. Got to be in the right mood. But I liked it. Quite liked the franticness. Could have done we 40min of it however.

Cheesy and not in a good way. Last song, Save What You Can, might have been the best but still toss.

Always knew Grounds For Divorce was as a banger but never liked Elbow. Not mad on his voice at times but enjoyed it a lot more than I thought.

Pink Floyd are your classic “album” band. Whether it goes against them or not, you can’t just stick one song on. 4.78/5 stars.

Lovely pleasant album with lovely pleasant harmonies. Who knew Kevin Nash could sing like that.

Some shanties that’d be great to sing with the lads down the tav with tankard in hand.

I get some people may not like his voice but Bob’s a grower. It took me a while but with a bit of persistence you can learn to like him too. Lovely pleasant album.

Thoroughly enjoyed. Took me through all the emotions - fun, frantic, sexy, saucy, angry, lovely. Would make a good doomed romance soundtrack.

Great energy! Really helps with those cleaning tasks. The Prodigy always strike me as a live band but works just as well on record.

I like Stevie unique sound. Sounds almost unresolved. You don’t expecting him to go there but he does it anyway! Bonus points for the Chili’s cover 😉

Just a fine rock album

Tribally yet futuristic. Was alright.

Was better than expected. Linkin Park have never been my jam. Very corny (not a bad thing). Big meaty guitar riffs. Every song would have made a good WWE Wrestling theme.

Was adequate. Far too long for what it was.

The fun, frantic, funky sound of Talking Heads. Only ever listened to Remain in the Light. I thought that’s all I needed but I was wrong.

Consider the ruckus well and truly brought. An album to cross your arms and nod your head to.

Never listened to Common but was pleasantly surprised. Very Kanye-esque. Enjoyed the groovy jazzyness. 3.5/5.

An album I’ve come across before on my post punk journey. Vibes of Fugazi which is a ok with me. Far too many songs. Should’ve condensed it to 30/40min and it would be a really good album. Bonus points for jackass theme ☠️

Good old grungy rock album right up my street. Prefer Sweet Oblivion but this is getting rounded up to 4.

Was alright. Could’ve rounded up to 3 but I’m not going to as Love Her Madly sounded like Ringo Starr and then that’s all I could hear throughout. Riders on the Storm is a great ending though.

Think I liked the vibe more than the actual songs. Like the idea of being on the bayou fishin’ for gators. Not really that many good songs. Good Golly Miss Molly and Proud Mary can fuck off! My advice to Creedence would be to keep on chooglin’.

Was alright. I like a nice chill, ambient, spacey album however a bit bold to say it’s in the top 1000 albums of all time.

A lot of attitude but got a bit tedious

I liked parts and can appreciate some of the weird sounds but come on.

Great album! The singles are probably the weakest part. Paranoid is ok, though over played. It’s the gateway drug for spotty teenagers getting into heavy metal. And Iron Man doesn’t do much for me. Planet Caravan is the best on the album and should be the last song. It would be a great ending to an album.

Bjork must have the most unique voice, right? It’s like a child’s but is also massive! And who knows what genre she is, she’s in a league of her own. Some times can be a hard listen, you have to be in the right mood, but when you are, oh boy is she good.

Enjoyed the vibe. Felt like I was in a medieval tavern sippin’ my flagon, however the actual songs weren’t that great.

Get a new name, boys

I enjoyed quite a lot of the music but the “singing” is just silly. A bit of shouting at times can be fine but it was just annoying and ruined a lot of the songs.

Would definitely be in the 1000 nice albums to listen to. I imagine it would be great sunny Sunday morning cleaning music.

A good album you can’t deny but a bit bloated. Hard not to compare to Are You Experienced which is hit after hit. The hits on the album probably do carry it a bit. Crosstown Traffic, Voodoo Child etc. You could argue All Along The Watchtower is probably the best cover version of a song ever. Gypsy Eyes is a funky boogie banger!

Now if this was his first album, Closing Time, it’d get 5 stars. His voice is jarring on his later albums. I can’t help but hear Tigger from Winnie the Pooh. I’ll give it a generous 3 as I like his vibe. Always feel like I’m drowning my sorrowing, necking whiskey in a dingy, smoke filled bar whilst an old man fiddles the piano in the corner.

Enjoyed it more than I thought I would. Bit corny and song names are dramatic, like.

Great start to an album with Tiny Dancer. And Indian Sunset is one of my favourite Elton hidden gems, not only because of the 2pac link but it paints a great picture! Very dramatic and operatic. Lovely stuff.

Forgot how good this album was! Not a bad song on it. Grungy Foo’s is a million times better than any of the dad rock shit they are doing nowadays

Enjoyed this very much. Strength Of Strings was the stand out.

Moody grungy goodness

Like a Prayer has to be top 5 best pop songs surely! Decent run of songs up to Cherish. Enjoyed the funkiness of Keep It Together.

Classic solid hip hop album innit. The singles are doing a lot of the heavy lifting. All 90s hip hop was riddled with skits but they’re just annoying. Always been a pac man myself

In My Place is an anthem and The Scientist is pretty great too. The first 5 songs are all pretty good. The title track is decent. Better than Parachutes. Not as boring.

This is my kind of jazz. The Sims house building music.

Found myself a bit bored tbh. The middle of Orion and the start of Damage Inc was a nice break from the chugging riffs. Enjoyed Sepultura more. Would’ve preferred 90s Metallica probably.

Not the era of The Beatles I’d pick to put on but I still like it. There’s a time and a place for it. A nice sunny BBQ or cleaning up music. All My Loving is a classic. You Really Got a Hold On Me probably my fave. Till There Was You is a hidden gem. But there’s something about Roll Over Beethoven that just annoys me.

She nearly got a 2 and then I thought what has someone got to do to get a 1?? Was pretty annoying to be honest. If Paper Planes was on then it might have gained an extra star.

You can tell it’s the precursor to Back to Black. It’s like it has the ingredients but just doesn’t hit. It’s ok. It’s just a bit generic sounding. Can tell she was still finding her style.

I knew they had some bangers but didn’t know they had a full album of them! Even the Iron Man cover is better than the original (not that I like the original). Good stuff!

Good fun funk album

Good ol’ swingin’ fun time. Blueberry Hill is a genuinely good song. The rest is more of a vibe, but a vibe I can dig.

Might be being harsh because it’s considered a masterpiece but 3.5/5 for me. Is objectively a good album but a bit samey but gets away with it because it’s quite short. What’s Going On and Mercy Mercy Me do a lot of the heavy lifting. Save The Children is fucking annoying!

Was worried it was going to be another daft Beach Boys surf album but was a nice change. Nowt fantastic but nice enough, still has all the Beach Boys hallmarks. Disney Girls was nice.

Good harmless fun

What a lovely album. Can imagine chilling out on a warm summers eve, Glastonbury, West Holts Stage, Brothers Toffee Apple cider in hand. Nice that.

Favourite Chili’s album for sure. Strays away from the classic punk funk rock sound, but I think they do pop rock even better! Around the World is a fantastic opener, the distorted bass kicks you straight in the nads. Parallel Universe could be one of their best album tracks they’ve ever done, then again so could be This Velvet Glove. The 5 singles are all top notch. Kiedis takes a lot of stick but the lyrics in Californication are genuinely brilliant. Even the more fun, throw away type songs like I Like Dirt, Purple Stain and Right on Time are still great. Then you’ve got the lovely mellow Porcelain and the outro Road Trippin’. Perfect album 🌶️❤️

Is there a more iconic intro to an album? Kurt Cobain is one of my favourite singers, would’ve loved to hear a solo album. He was great at writing pop songs with balls. Not a bad song on it. Perfect album.

Can never decide if In Rainbows or OK Computer is my fave Radiohead album. Either way it’s probably in my top 5 albums. A great album needs a great intro and Airbag is that. Paranoid Android is probably the best of the singles. Let Down is beautiful and was always one of my favourites. Climbing Up The Walls my other favourite, loved the eeriness. Electioneering is a strange one, always reminds me of a Stereophonics song. Still good though. I’ll say another perfect album even though Fitter Happier is on here 🐖💊

Frantic and manic!

I don’t mind Muse but they fall in to that annoying category with Coldplay. Good album though. Reminds me of my childhood, so bonus points. Bit dramatic and corny but good musicians and decent songs. The album should start with Supermassive Black Hole.

My kind of jazz. Melodic enough and not too frantic. Was probably the first jazz album I listened to properly so extra points.

Enjoyed this a lot more than I thought I would, especially seeing as there’s none of his hits on here. Musically I thought it was pretty good, wasn’t just repetitive generic dance. 3.75/5

Prefer the mellow ones. Vocals get a bit annoying when he’s constantly screeching. Immigrant Song is a headbanging intro 🤘 and Since I’ve Been Loving You and Tangerine stood out.
