Alright We'll be together again - slow, bit boring tbh Makin’ whoopee- this is jarring lol Swingin' down the lane- potentially catchy?👍 Anything goes- love this song, this version isn’t my fave How about you?- Idk who James Durante is Early album on the list, just fine to me, definitely effective background music for a specific vibe 3/5

Intro-good set up If I die 2nite- this music is definitely not my vibe. But I like background, found outro a bit strange Me against the world- slick production, powerful lyrics, all around great song👍 So many tears- another powerful personal song, with great sample. Don’t think the hook is as good as me against the world. Temptations-swerve into song about potentially settling down. Just alright for me Young n*****- WOW 👍 Heavy in the game- like chorus Lord knows-such an alien song to me. Another powerful song with great hook.👍 Dear mama-so heartfelt👍 It ain’t easy- bit of a self pity song lol but still very enjoyable to listen to. Can U get away- catchy chorus, slow in parts Old school-nostalgia foreign to me Fuck the world- just okay Death around the corner- I like this song except for the hook Outlaw- closing song, just okay for me This album is very much the opposite of what I listen to. Pleasantly surprised by how enjoyable it was, but I know nothing about this type of music. 4

Now Mary- cute song with changes of pace👍 I can learn- could get into this song👍 This protector- weird song to end on,not my fave This album was just ok to me, didn’t inspire. Compared to what I think the general field will be this is a 2/5 for me

I actually own this album😮 Talkin’ about a revolution-sets the tone for the album ,very catchy👍 Fast Car - obviously a classic, one of the best songs of all time👍 Across the lines - socially important, great backing instrument Behind the wall- Haunting, but a bit on the nose Baby can I hold you-bittersweet love song 👍 Mountains o’ things- I like verses but not a fan of bridge, outro lasts a bit too long She’s got her ticket- upbeat song about escaping from the cycle👍 Why?- think the chorus brings this song down a bit, everything else is great for me For my lover-another good song If not now..-an enchanting wistful song 👍 For you- sweet little album closer 👍 First album I’ve listen to before. Background is always superb, and lyrics are mostly amazing. Fast car is really a classic song but many others on the album are also amazing. 4/5

I am a smiths apologist, this is already one of my favourite albums🙃 The queen is dead-great start, great lyrics 👍 Frankly, mr shankly- funny,clever lyrics, jaunty instrumental 👍 I know it’s over- we take our first foray into depresso-core but damn if the intensity isn’t glorious 👍 Never had no one ever- the depths of self pity, we’ve all been there. Still like this song but one of the weaker ones on this album Cemetry gates- lol it’s misspelled. I LOVE this song, one of my favourite songs of all time. The lyrics are amazing, great union between Marr and Morrissey 👍 Bigmouth strikes again- another classic. Guitar is next level 👍 The boy with the thorn in his side- good song, just not one of my favourites from this album. Doesn’t really stand out to me on this album Vicar in a tutu-playful, tongue in cheek song There is a light that never goes out- obviously a classic👍 Some girls are bigger than others- boobs. It seems an odd choice to end with this more low-key track rather than the previous,but mirrors the slightly jokey and irreverent opening. Love the subtle outro ending the album. Overall I think this album is the perfect union of Marr and Morissey, truly an amazing album 5/5

Hello hooray-doesn’t appeal to me personally, theatre core? Raped and freezin’- quite disturbing lyrics but I like the instrumental Elected- pretty groovy. Everyone at everytime feels the same way about politicians I guess👍 Billion dollar baby- odd in a good way, especially the chorus. Guitar outro pretty cool as well 👍 Unfinished sweet- another weird song, not unpleasant but not personally my thing. No more mr nice guy- nice catchy tune 👍 Generation landslide- different vibe with harmonica 😮 lyrics a bit try hard for me Sick things- quite dull, not a fan Mary Ann- interesting segue, music hall vibe, incredibly derivative, honey pie did it better tbh I love the dead- dramatic shift into song about necrophilia. This is too edgelord for me lol. I do like the cut to saying nothing though, but the whole song doesn’t do too much for me. This album didn’t really resonate. Maybe I don’t like rock? Idk v edgy for no good reason 2/5

Greetings to the new brunette- perfectly pleasant, feel like it could stand out little bit more 👍 Train train- guitar is fantastic on this The marriage-meh, I don’t think this a hot take Ideology- bob dylan wrote the melody, no wonder it’s meandering. Yet another anti politician song, lyrics fine Levi Stubbs tears- great song, nice storytelling and great instrumental 👍 Honey, I'm a big boy now- good for her, he seemed like a man child. Like music hall feel There Is Power in a Union-apt for our times lol Help save the youth of America-amazing song, criticising patronising fundraiser songs, and very catchy👍 Wishing the days away- cute pleasant song The passion - poignant, atmospheric song👍 The warmest room- upbeat fun song 👍 The home front -nothing has changed in 35 yrs I guess :) land of hope and glory Only listened to songs for original albums. Felt like the political songs are still apt now, which is kinda sad but something didn’t really click with me about them. Took a while for me to get into the music. Some really good songs in here, but mostly just alright 3/5

Trying to keep an open mind on this one.. haven’t heard of this album even though it’s recent. Happy at least new albums are included. The spinning song- this song was just bizarre to me. Lyrics meh but outro was okay. Bright horses- simple but effective instrumental, just Sean really resonate as I don’t really have an experience with grief that way Waiting for you- actually sounds like a song, pretty good👍 Night raid- interesting instrumental but v strange metaphor Sun forest- actually just lofi ambient music to start the song lol. Meh other than that Galleon ship- interesting enough instrumental to support lyrics 👍 Ghosteen speaks-snorefest tbh Leviathan- this one is hard to listen to Ghosteen- 12 mins 🙃bridge is fantastic, but there is a whole lot of slog Fireflies- nick cave doesnt know what a photon is. Think lyrics are pretty good, but you’re just speaking them my dude Hollywood- 14 mins. V long, kisa story baffling This album is the first one where I had to do something else also for the sake of my sanity. Just not for me, I can’t relate to the grief. I don’t think for me the lyrics and the music caught me enough to truly connect me. Sure this is a good album, but I don’t have a discerning ear. 1/5

Another modern album I haven't heard of, excited for this one Offence-interesting song, would’ve liked for a little less monotone in rapping style Boss- another striking song, not sure how l feel about the hook Selfish- chorus really good, verses flesh conceit out👍 Wounds- great flow, good feature👍 Venom- fast paced, very dynamic 👍 101FM- this is v fun with a great instrumental 👍 Pressure- just okay to me Therapy- liked lyrics and chorus, maybe she should try therapy tho lol👍 Sherbet sunset-great beat, chorus, impassioned lyrics 👍 Flowers- album ends with reflection on other artist, again just alright to me Maybe I wasn't in the right place for this today, but this album did not engage my full attention throughout. Very stick and well put together 3/5

Mouth for war-guess I’d better get used to screaming. Lots of impressive riffs, lyrics are quite generic A New level -another great instrumental, but l hate the way he says unscarred by trials for some reason, guitar solo pretty cool👍 Walk-pretty good, vocals a bit better imo👍 Fucking hostile- like chorus, think verses a bit cliche This love - nice contrast between softer verses and more metal chorus. Would lose the spoken parts though.👍 Rise- great guitar work, otherwise okay. No good- not a very nuanced take, I was distracted by lyrics for this one Live in a hole- Not like other girls, again another great riff Regular people - good if long intro, again l like the contrast between verse and chores👍 By demons be driven- edgy stuff, I have not liked any of the spoken word Hollow- a change of pace from most of the album, not great All in all didn't really get into this album, not really my thing. By the end I felt as it l had heard the next song already 2/5

Time becomes- a loop. Love the worf sample Planet of the Shapes - I don’t have much to say tbh.. Lush 3-1 - I was hiccuping which I think adds to the long Lush 3.2 - this is literally the same thing Gave up on individual songs, all blend into one. I could not just sit and not do anything except listen to this album. Ultimate background music. DO people still dance to this? 1/5

Politik- quite generic verses and chorus In my place- I like instrumental, think rest is quite mediocre God put a smile upon your face - recognisable riff, verses actually have a melody this time👍 The scientist - just alright Clocks - catchy and memorable👍 Daylight - the verses go very slowly, this is background to me. Why do all songs on this album have to be 5 minutes Green Eyes - quite cute , quite jarring when the piano comes in Warning sign- l like the idea of purposefully searching for warning signs and reflecting that was the wrong thing todo , solid song👍 A whisper - not Sure about first chorus , has a good energy and guitar another long Outro for no particular reason A rush of blood to the head - bit of a narrative , nice buildup to first chorus, nice Instrumental👍 Amsterdam- dull until the outro, not enough to make up for rest of track This album is just very mediocre on the whole, lyrics are quite simplistic and some songs monotonous. I did really like some of the tracks but I don't think the whole album is that compelling 2/5

The state I am in- alright Expectations- very good instrumental, lyrics bit on the nose but tell a good story👍 She's losing it- jaunty song about (political?) lesbians You're just a baby- bit creepy tbh, but nice and upbeat Electronic renaissance - love the vibe of the song interesting vocal effects👍 I could be dreaming- pretty groovy and v interesting👍 We rule the school - meh, pretty uninteresting My wandering days are over - nice chorus and lyrics👍 I don't love anyone-bit boring and repetitive Mary Jo - bit too real lol, V good👍 All in all a well put together album especially considering circumstances. This is definitely more my typical type of Music 3/5

Do it again- great song, good lyrics and groovy instrumental 👍 Dirty Work - nice bit of sax , pleasant to listen to Kings - a history reference and a political allegory? Very well put together👍 Midnite Cruiser- pretty groovy Only a fool would say that - incredibly cynical, great song and perhaps response👍 Reelin' in the years - catchy, another great instrumental👍 Fire in the hole - Vietnam song. I love the piano instrumental👍 Brooklyn - bit more of a laid back song Change of the guard - more optimistic song about positive change. Another Catchy song Turn that heartbeat over again- interesting narrative of junkie and criminal trying to justify his actions👍 Pretty much every song here is very solid, instrumental always outstanding 5/5

Procession- intro song Father to son- Standard theatrical queen fare. Nice guitar solo White queen- interesting song with almost lady of shallot like qualities👍 Some day one day- a Brian May vocal. Quite twee The loser in the end - Roger Taylor song ö Quite heavy instrumental Ogre battle- fairytale tunes for quite a few songs now. Pretty novel and also good instrumental.👍 The fairy fellers master stroke- once you see the painting makes more sense. Very inventive to take inspiration from obscure painting👍 Nevernore- seamless transition. Short and Sweet👍 The march of the black queen - companion piece to the white queen from side 1 . Another impressively put together song👍 Funny how love is - very Sharp turn into Beatles b sidesesque. Quite grating Seven seas of rye- only song I've listened to before. Catchier than l remember👍 Second side of the record is much stronger, apart from penultimate song• All in all creative and listenable , concepts built upon in subsequent albums 4/5

Maybe blasphemous but 4/5

Tangled up in blue- interesting and complex narrative with a short hook and a great instrumental👍 Simple twist of fate- another solid narrative👍 You're a big girl now- pretty devastating song about an almost one sided breakup👍 Idiot wind - bit too long and meandering for my tastes You're going to make me lone some when you go- pretty catchy👍 Meet me in the morning- bit samey after a while Lily, Rosemary and the Jack of Hearts - not something would want to listen to frequently, but enjoyable If you see her say hello - conflict between obvious vulnerability that he feels and his attempt to present as stoic masculine figure👍 Shelter from the storm - One of the weaker tracks Buckets of rain- just okay All in all, l was pleasantly surprised as l wouldn't consider myself a fan of Bob Dylan. However, some very good tracks on here 4/5

Don't stop TIL you get enough - A bop Rock with you - this is so smooth👍 Workin' day and night - another great groovy song Get on the floor - another vibe👍 Off the wall - creepy laugh.. But l love the chorus👍 Girlfriend- Sorry Paul, don't like this She's out of my life- a slower song. Emotion in vocals good if a little faux in places (voile break at end). I can't help it - Great instrumental, not sure about ad libs It's the falling in love - duet, quite peppy feel but with almost despairing lyrics👍 Burn this disco out - fun dance song👍 Very strong album, pleasant. I prefer albums that have a bit more lyrical substance so 4/5

I've been waitin' for tomorrow - starts off with a heavy beat, gradually builds. Solid start This is the day - jarring between upbeat tempo and quite depressing lyrics👍 The sinking feeling- I love angst👍 Uncertain smile - just okay for me, lengthy piano solo The twilight hour - really like lyrical themes here👍 Soul mining- bit more low key with fun instrumental👍 Giant - v long repetitive Outro Perfect- going to rate this one even though it's contentious. Instrumental 👍 I'm interested in revisiting this album, seems like it could get better with afew relistens. For now, 4/5

Young lust- Lyrics iffy in parts but Catchy👍 Fine- next level of horniness Love in an elevator - heard of this song, but didn't actually know how it went. V catchy👍 Monkey on my back- bit of self reflection about excessive drug use. Janie's got a gun- poignant song about sexual abuse and the resulting consequences👍 The other side - quite generic but also hella catchy👍 My girl- meh Don't get mad get even- chorus is very blah Voodoo Medicine man- drums standout but bit melodramatic and taking itself too seriously. What it takes - this sounds like it could be on the soundtrack on a cheesy film. Also I kinda hate the random callback to fine.

Dog eat dog- chorus doesn't do anything for me Ant music - pre chorus and chorus catchy👍 Feed me to the Lions - random hey hos in chorus really throw me off Los Rancheros - what is with the random chanting in the chorus? Quite fun tho👍 Ants invasion - not sure what he's going on about but I like it👍 Killer in the home - quite repetitive, not a catchy hook. Kings of the wild frontier- some weird pretending to be native American which makes me uncomfortable today, but this is undeniably interesting👍 The magnificent five- someone take the western movies away😭 Don't be square - feel like I'm joining a cult👍 Jolly Roger- this is bizarre, feel like I'm listening to an ancestor of stand and deliver, think I'd rather listen to that Making history - I like this one, think it is quite clever👍 The human beings- very simple lyrically, I think this works. At least he's finally stopped relating the band to a nouveau native American tribe Very interesting album, with different vibes, including some very themed songs. Lyrical content questionable sometimes 3/5

Dominion/ mother Russia- pretty interesting dramatic start. All transitions really solid and I'm a sucker for pretentious poetry references👍 Flood l- instrumental drowns vocals out. Honestly was kinda getting intoit at the end but definitely something to be listened to in the context of the album and not on it own Lucretia, my reflection- this is quite petty lol, musically v solid👍 1959- held back track with just piano and melodramatic vocals. This corrosion- starts with choir . Jesus this guy sounds like a dick no wonder all his bandmates left. Wrote a 9 minute song bitching about he thinks his former band mates lyricism is shit Flood II - better version of flood I👍 Driven like the snow - fairly lowkey for this album, nice track👍 Never land (a fragment)- v meh Rating Cd tracks: torch - sounds like he's given up in the vocal department. Like the flute(?) solo Colours- doesn't do enough for long One of those band but not really a band projects. Feel like this could be atmospheric but I was interrupted. Feel like with the 80s synth sound l should like it more, but idk some lyrics didn't appeal to me. 3/5.

Holy wars... The punishment due - strong start, guitar is obviously going to be a main focus Hangar 18 - this is pretty cool👍 Take no prisoners- great riff👍 Five magics - quite long intro. Like how guitar interacts with vocal line. What in the dungeons and dragons are these lyrics. Great outdo solo Poison was the care- Guitar great as always, but vocals are fast and too drowned out for me, especially considering personal topic Lucretia- this is a bop tbh. What a nice ghost😊👍 Tornado of Souls - another great 1-2 of vocals then solo👍 Dawn patrol - how does this sound like a mole Rust in peace... Polaris- weird framing device singing from perspective of missile. Kinda weird also cold war is over thought you'd like to know This isn't really my thing, but is a great put together album. 3/5

Something for the weekend - I really hate the socalled 'tittering females'. The old switcheroo at the end Becoming more like Alfie- honestly, I don't know the reference. Pretty catchy but some questionable lyrics👍 Middle class heroes - loves spoken intros. This is boring and cynical In and out in Paris and London - creepy and rapey. Instrustal sounds like Thomas the tank engine music. Charge- obvious and crass metaphor Songs of love- generic The frog princess- hmm.. Not sure how to heel about this one. Definitely better than some tracks but still quite dramatic for no reason A woman of the world- chorus in chorus makes it sound like a musical. Definitely very theatrical👍 Through a long and sleepless night- this is incredibly overblown The theme from Casanova - and now we have boring Muzak for some reason. And it is six minutes long The horses and the dogs- what in the off off broadway is this? Half of this album is unbearably dramatic, and overplayed, the other half is frankly creepy. Also thought his singing was too tryhard. Didn't come out as fun and tongue in cheek as it was meant imo. 1 /5

Purple Haze- A fantastic start to the album👍 Manic depression- guitar solo is next level👍 Hey Joe- A more bluesy inspired sung Love or confusion - another guitar driven song👍 May this be love- A more laid back and gentle song, just beautiful👍 I don't live today- another blues track and obviously Guitar is next level The wind cries Mary - quite a sweet melancholic song👍 Fire - just okay compared to other songs on the album Third stove from The Sun- groovy mostly instrumental Foxey Lady - meh Are you experienced - a very experimental and psychedelic track👍 This is a masterpiece 5/5

Don't go near the water - this is so on the nose, could be sung to kids Long promised road- musically strong, lyrics quite simple👍 Take a load of your feet- nursery rhyme core Disney Girls (1957) - people are always wishing for simpler times, musically simple Student demonstration time - musically a cover, this doesn't do anything for me Feel Flows - instrumental is pretty cool👍 Lookin' at tomorrow (a welfare song) - almost an interlude, sonically interesting A day in the life of a tree- Classic beach boys harmonies👍 'Til I die - this is a very tight song, incredible harmonies👍 Surfs up- sections don't link together organically for me I think the overly political songs on this album are lacking all subtlety. Just wasn't my fave, I like the bait and switch with the title tho. 2/5

Still works as a song generally World clique- lyrics don't really make sense, lots going on with production ESP- really cool song, especially effects on vocals👍 Groove is in the heart - never heard this rap verse before, but otherwise a bop👍 Who was that - home invasion core. Pretty bizarre Deep ending - standard dance song Build the bridge - this song sounds like orbital Very good vibe, again more of a background vibe 3/5

Sad that this isn't the decapitation version 👍 Alabama - just Kentucky again Katie Dear- everyone is a bit dramatic My brothers will - wow Sally is a snake Knoxville Girl- this is the murder I was waiting for. No justification given👍 Take the news to mother - boring even for the standard of this album Mary of the wild moor --Nice depressing song to finish Really one song sounds like them all on this album but I don't hate the one song! 2/5

Teen age riots- not quite an anthem, bit too laidback for the subject matter Silver Rocket - instrumental pretty insane👍 The sprawl- long outro which made me feel nothing 'Cross the breeze- like the Guitar work more on this track👍 Eric’s trip- sounds pretty cool👍 Total trash- very interesting but not I would want to listen to often. Again quite long, maybe for good reason Hey Joni- this is a well put together song, I don’t really connect to it Providence- this isnt really a song, just random shit Candle- all a bit obscure, enjoyable 👍 Rain king Kissability-👍 Wasn’t very focused on this today, might be worth relisten at some point 3/5

Surprised evermore was chosen over folklore Willow - great start, catchy and I love guitar👍 Champagne problems- One of my fave songs, love storytelling on this👍 Gold rush - this song really grew on me, love atmosphere👍 'Tis the damn season- another strong narrative song, love the telling from the other side on Dorothea👍 Tolerate it - bridge is amazing👍 No body no crime- goodbye Earl vibes👍 Happiness -v bittersweet song, trying hard not to give every thing ticks lol Dorothea- this is a such a cute song, gives me honey pie vibes👍 Coney Island- this is the weakest song on the album imo. Just not a vibe I identify with Ivy- this is a daphne de Maurier bop👍 Cowboy like me- just alright Long story short-a bop, but one of the weaker boos on the album Marjorie- a sister to epiphany, very beautiful but not something I would want to listen to all the time Closure- this song is over hated👍 Evermore- this song is a good Outro👍 Who am I kidding? 5/5

Tudo o Que Você Podia Ser- this is very groovy, with great changes in song👍 Cais - almost wistful song, had weird stereo bit at the end O Trem Azul - this was really catchy👍 Saidas e Bandeiras n° 1- very lively interlude Nuvem Cigana - another lively song Cravo e canela - love backing vocals, again catchy👍 Dos cruces - I feel ballads are harder to get into without understanding the lyrics because much more stripped down instrumental. Gets enjoyably dramatic at the end. Um girassol da cor do seu cabelo - has a slower part, then a discordant interlude where after the music picks up speed and intensity very cool👍 I should remember to save, lost last few songs of first half paisagem de Janela -didn't really grab me, also very quick fadeout at end Me deixa em paz- very nice female vocalist on this one👍 Os povos- bit dull Saidas e Bandeiras n°2 - very similar to before Um Gosta del sol - quite long song with drawnout instrumental at end Pelo amor de Deus - this is v interesting and quite distorted👍 Lilia- mostly instrumental with frankly annoying whelping in the background Trem de Doido - nice electric guitar👍 Nada sera COMO antes - didn't grab me Ao Que Vai Nascer- again a bit laid back to start, then again livens up For a album where I can't understand the lyrics, this managed to retain my attention 4/5

Just a little lovin'- fairly basic song So much love - as above Son of a preacher man- v catchy👍 I don't wanna hear it anymore - nice little narrative song Don't forget about me- quite simple, but effective and snappy. Ends a bit abruptly👍 Breakfast in bed- like the vocal on this track particularly Just one smile- babes you gotta more on The windmills of your mind- I love the vibe and build of this song. Amazing👍 In the land of make believe- feel like this is in the same vein as many other tracks here No easy way down - I like lyrics and sentiment on this song👍 I can't make it alone- meh I don't vibe with this Vocals consistently great and v expressive. Think some songs can get a bit samey but also some great songs on here 3/5

Mostly pleasant but nothing stands out except A+E Worst: clowns 3/5

Don't think it’s quite upbeat enough for the message Elevation- this is whatever, very dad music Walk on - very similar themes to previous songs Kite- this is sweet but safe👍 In a little while- Nonce song with wolf howls for some reason Wild Honey to Grace- All pretty generic and some terrible songs in this run. New York has a really jarring guitar riff that comes in sometimes that feels very uninspired The ground beneath her feet- Wait, the lyrics are by Salman Rushdie?! This was the first U2 album I’ve listened to.. hopefully its not representative of their whole oeuvre 1/5

I know far too little about jazz to know if this is good jazz or not, I assume it is? Again, maybe because I’m completely ignorant to this music I just think of it as background music that I can’t really distinguish from much other jazz music. 2/5

Have heard a lot of acclaim for this album! Suite II Overture- Definitely sets theatrical sound Dance or Die- This is so catchy and also very dense with worldbuilding👍 Faster-starts new ‘thread’ of story, solid but.. Locked out- I like this better👍 Sir Greendown- still sounds cohesive despite its difference, very dreamy Cold War- Catchy Tightrope- Bit too much going on here for me Neon Gumbo- Weird segue Oh Maker- Performed extremely well, cute little ditty👍 Come alive- That scream is impressive but unpleasant Mushrooms and Roses- Cool psychedelic track, very full with guitars Suite III Overture Neon Valley Street- Another cute change of tack Make the bus- Basically someone else’s song? Still good tho👍 Wondaland- Bop tbh👍 57821- the harmonies on this are top tier👍 Last two songs are long and grand Definitely an experience, need to revisit when I’m a bit fresher. 5/5

Found a few of the slower tracks more boring, but that’s just personal preference. 4/5

Arise - its one of these albums.. Dead embryonic cells - points just for the little Tbh👍 Desperate cry - some nice differentiation here between two sections Murder- cheery titles.. Money Changes everything- I like the verses, could do with being a bit shorter Girls just want to have fun- This is iconic and catchy, feels like it probably got a major boost by being sung by a woman and not some creepy man👍 When you were mine- Prince cover, I think vocals are strong and expressive👍 Time after time- I find this song kinda cheesy, nice instrumentation She bop- Love that for her👍 All through the night- This was dull Witness- could grow to be a bop to me👍 I’ll kiss you- Quite a novel song, if not a little weird Yeah yeah- weird vocal things kinda ruin song for me I enjoyed this album, but didn’t wow me. Red Intro How many mics- one of the many tracks flexing about their rap abilities Ready or not- only really heard the chorus to this before, but very solid track👍 Zealots- Lauryn Hills verse is insanely good here👍 The beast- Poignant social commentary with a random skit at the end Fu-gee-la- very catchy chorus👍 Family business- a bit all over the place, quite fast paced and another skit Killing me softly with his song- Lauryn Hill can truly play both sides👍 The score- this almost seems like the culmination to the album, with the constant samples from other tracks, lots of emphasis on mcing flexing again and A SKIT The mask- The verses are all so good here👍 Cowboys-This is quite a packed song No woman no cry- Classic song, great cover👍 Manifest/Outro- Lauryns verse goes so so hard, last half is weird outro. This album really felt like an event, I’m not sure about the skit interludes but songs really show level of talent and cohesion that is seriously impressive. WOW 4/5

Hard times- quite a simple song with simple rhymes Rock box- Some nice fusion kinda sounds with electric guitar 👍 Jam master Jay- love the hype for the producer👍 Hollis Crew-another pretty simple straightforward brag track Sucker MCs- fun song with simple but effective backing beat👍 Its like that- song seems to plod a bit for me, just not strong enough combination of lyrics/beat for me Wake up- this is the beginning of a good idea, could be elevated more👍 Again, I am taking this album out of context as the fundamental and influential trailblazer that it is, but we can really see this is laying the foundations and what has been built up out of it is much better overall. 2/5

Astronomy domine- Kinda crazy this came out before man stepped on the moon. Honestly pretty obvious production for a grand space song, but I have to assume this is pioneering👍 Lucifer Sam- gives off anti cat vibes Matilda Mother-this feels like a precursor to Queen, a little more laid back but an interesting instrumental nonetheless. Doesn’t really pull together as a track Flaming- Pretty uninteresting LSD track Pow R Toc H- god this is as boring as you can get More boring (almost) instrumentals (Take Up thy stethoscope, interstellar overdrive) The gnome- This is the worst LSD song I’ve ever heard Chapter 24- Not quite sure how this is an example of genius, randomly taking a chapter from an important Eastern book but ok The scarecrow- This is fine, quiet catchy👍 Bike- outro is interesting, rest is twee nonsense I’m not sure I even like good Pink Floyd 1/5

Pigs- Obvious police song with some good lyrics and linked to that nursery rhyme that I didn’t like How I could just kill a man- Catchy hook, if not repetitive, and quite interesting. guitar in background👍 Hand on the pump-Think we’re getting a theme, this is pretty engaging👍 Hole in the Head- This is a bit obnoxious and we get it at this point Ultraviolet dreams-short interlude Light another- Probably a more positive life philosophy, to abuse drugs rather than kill people👍 The phuncky feel one- Funky enough👍 Break up- Didn’t realise this was a separate song Real Estate- Quite annoying tbh, also what is his obsession with ducats Stoned is the way of the walk- doesn’t do much for me, doesn’t feel like beat matches flow psychobetabuckdown- No idea what this means, but I like it👍 Something for the blunted- stoner interlude Latin lingo-this is a fun concept, we love a language mix and match👍 The Funky Cypress Hill Shit- This is quite long and lyrics are quite generic, not my fave Tres Equis- This truly is TripleX Born to get busy- Almost a reiteration of mission statements- smoke weed This album is a little too long for me, with many phrases noticeably repeated between songs. I think production elements are interesting and there are a variety of styles, but just not really for me 3/5

Carry on-cute little two parter, if a little indulgent👍 Teach your children- this is teetering on the edge of sentimentality for me Almost cut my hair- I like the music, but it all seems a bit overdramatic in the lyrics department. I get the long hair anti military thing now, but still, a bit melodramatic Helpless- I like the idea, wish chorus was a bit stronger👍 Woodstock- quite a funny thing to cover if the description is true, but sorry Joni, find this quite saccharine Deja vu-I like this song. Starts off quite fast paced before becoming more ruminating and vibey👍 Our House- this shouldn’t work for me, its so sickly sweet, but just so cute I can’t help liking it👍 20 + 4- bit of a throwaway Country girl- This is so overblown and too loud, good foundation but doesn’t work as a whole Everybody I love you- This definitely feels like a closing track, the instrumental does pop off👍 All in all, this is a bit incohesive for me, but I am a sucker for some of these. Another Brick in the wall pt 2- Big hit from this album, very solid👍 Mother- I like the dichotomy of starting the ‘mothers’ verse with a soothing phrase and then reinforcing negative thinking, instilling it into the child👍 Goodbye Blue Sky- Turning away from the childhood part of the album Next part(Empty Spaces, Young Lust👍, One of my turns)-Showing descent into madness/misanthropy Don’t leave me now- bit of a selfpitying dirge Another Brick in the wall pt 3- well we’ve been here before Hey you- Bit of an optimistic?? slant before diving back into to loneliness and rejection in next songs Bring the boys back home- Satirical patriotic type song Comfortably numb- The other big song, good guitar solos👍 Also liked Run Like Hell-👍 I understand this record is a behemoth that I just can’t really tackle head on right now. I’m just going to give this a 3/5 and maybe come back to it at a later date

Station to station- I have to say I’d never heard of the Thin White Duke but I guess he’s back Golden years- A little long but still a good tune👍 Word on a wing- Desperate prayer, very solid👍 TVC 15- this is catchy and inspired by a funny story Stay- great funky guitars and I like lyrics👍 Wild is the wind- Good cover, I wonder if I’ve listened to the Nina Simone version? Very tight album with good tunes, songs could be shorter (feels like padding at start and end sometimes) but enjoyable to listen to overall. 4/5

Once- this is a very full song, love the spoken ominous part👍 Even Flow- This is a sad but dramatic look at the life of a homeless man👍 Alive- Wild ride reading the meaning of the lyrics👍 Why Go- Not as compelling and a bit repetitive Black- melodramatic and not a big fan of outro but buildup of atmosphere makes up for it👍 Jeremy- very dark song about a shocking situation Ocean- lighter than most other tracks on this album lyrically, still big sound Porch, Garden- on the surface both of these songs can be seen as reflecting on a failed relationship, with a deeper meaning to be found👍👍 Deep-this is fine Release- long and has an uninteresting outro Great guitar work, I also like lyrics/concepts of songs. Eddie Vedders voice wasn’t my favourite. 4/5

Finally got around to listening to this properly. Guitar is very standout throughout, I just prefer music with more varied instrumentation. Important topics covered in quite short and snappy shouted phrases. The rulers back- Album starts off with plenty of bravado and great production👍 Takeover- I don’t know enough about this beef to care Izzo- god the production on this track is so good👍 Girls, girls, girls- Funny misogny?? Jigga that N***a- Just another look how rich I am track U Don’t Know- This slaps, I love the play in the chorus👍 Hola Hovtio- Great lyrics in the verses here👍 Heart of the city- Another great chorus, few questionable lyrics for our modern standards but still solid overall👍 Never change- Feel we’re reiterating some previous tracks here Song cry- I wonder why someone would want to break up with him after some songs.. All I Need- this is fine, not that compelling to me Renegade- funny in a rap collab people have to debate who beat who.. they both delivered solid verses but I wish the chorus was a bit stronger👍 Momma loves me- This feels a bit emotionless and going through the motions for me, just monotone throughout Breathe Easy (Lyrical Exercise)- I like an extended metaphor, especially the statistical categories line, but other than that this song is just fine for me Girls girls girls pt 2- I like chorus, meh about other elements This album really grabs your attention throughout with such good production. Maybe a bit overlong but still a v solid album. 4/5

Take on me- one of those timeless songs that never manages to be overplayed. Just so anthemic and joyful 👍 Train of thought- Wish the lyrics hit harder in places and it had a catchier hook, but a very solid song 👍 Hunting high and low- Slower more heartfelt song👍 The blue sky- pretty standard synthpop Living a boys adventure tale- I think the title perfectly encapuslates the clumsiness of this track The suns always shines on TV- great bombastic instrumental, wish lyrics were a bit more connected👍 And You tell me- Mercifully short Love is reason- Inoffensive filler I dream myself alive- Again feel like it could be lyrically elevated, I love the name and think more can be done with the concept. Still a good song👍 Here I stand and face the rain- Love a bit of layering to finish an album, another solid song👍 A beyond iconic song with some nice synthpop tracks to go with it. Really not groundbreaking but I’m glad I listened to it. 3/5

Fave tracks- Attitude,Ratamahatta, Dusted, Jasco The tribal influences in this are very interesting and definitely a departure from typical metal music. Just wasn’t in the right state of mind for this listening experience today. 2/5

Its catchy and got some nice piano work I kept on loving you- I don’t believe this guy for a second Another song-Interesting closing track with an almost experimental instrumental section This is wholesome almost to the point of being infuriating, but just as Marge says ‘I just think its neat’ 3/5

Classic Christmas album

Listened to this album a fair bit, I think this is a good album but slightly overrated Fave tracks:Slow burn, Butterflies,Lonely Weekend, High Horse, Golden Hour, Rainbow 4/5

Quiet Life- groovy quite laidback track. Fisherman’s blues- Nice lively track to start off 👍 We will not be lovers- The violin does so much work here, great melding of folk and rock 👍 Strange boat- Fairly unmemorable song World Party- didn’t really grab me Sweet thing- This is like a dual cover? Idk vocals feel a bit tryhard at times Jimmy Hickey’s waltz- Background music for dwarven pub or something And a bang on the ear- This is fairly lively but not compelling enough for such a lengthy song The songs from here are very folk focused, favourite was when ye go away Started off promising before diving headfirst into oldfashioned folk. 2/5

I’m Only Out for One Thang- …yeah no Get off my dick and tell yo bitch to come here- title longer than the song The Drive-By- another interlude, this time a drive by Rollin’ wit the Lench Mob- the chorus is a bit of a clusterfuck, and let’s just say we’ve heard this lyrical content before Who’s the Mack?- What’s with the moaning in the background? I like the storyline otherwise 👍 It’s a Man’s World- The hook is cool, like the exchange but I don’t think it achieves much for me. The Bomb- Another extended metaphor, this one is quite fun 👍 Good narratives, flow can get repetitive and the misogny is abundant. I’m gonna say it isn’t my favourite. 2/5

I Want You To Love Me- Could’ve done without the last part, but other than that pretty catchy 👍 Shameika- Funny how small moments can become defining moments in your life..👍 Fetch the bolt cutters- this is a bit too on the nose for me and isnt that sonically interesting. nice doggos tho Under the table- wish I could speak out a bit more 👍 Relay- I like this song a lot, but not really sure about the repeated line, i feel like it doesn’t mean much really Rack of his- I think the metaphor is really clever here, enjoyed this song overall 👍 Newspaper- I like the harmonies, but again a bit literal for me again and not a strong melody Ladies- A more chill song following the last one, a little meandering for me and i would say slightly condescending Heavy Balloon- So good, i love the vocals on this one 👍 Cosmonauts- One of the instantly catchier tracks 👍 For Her- Bit too chaotic for me Drumset- Quite repetitive, feels like a bit of throwaway On I Go- very percussion heavy, pretty good ending to the album 👍 I heard about the acclaim for this album back when it was released but never checked it out. It feels very 2020, but still holds up and I really appreciate it 5/5

This is such a generic prog rock song I’m surprised it can even be this generic Hearing the rest of this, I’m just not taken with it. I guess it was influential.. ngl I don’t like prog rock that much bc it just tends to be a bunch of self satisfied white dudes performing drawn out songs with esoteric lyrics. also why do all prog rock frontmen have the same voice. Think a track about polar expeditions could be cool, and it intrigued me

Black Sabbath- we love a self reference straight out the gate 👍 The Wizard- Like this one, again lyrics arent really up to much 👍 Behind the wall of sleep- Some good guitar work, otherwise just okay NIB- Again, great guitar work, but the melody is v generic Evil Woman- lol didn’t realise this was a cover. I still liked it 👍 Sleeping woman- ooh this is interesting, a lot of guitar work which is amazing 👍 Warning- This is fine, but a fair bit too long for my taste Wicked world- Heavy handed but still strong 👍 I liked this well enough, especially for being a forerunner to a genre it still holds up 4/5

The view from the afternoon- oh this is really good actually, clever lyricism and great rock sound 👍 I Bet You Look Good on the Dancefloor- A british staple 👍 Fake tales of San Francisco- some cute lyrics here, but I’m not really a fan of chorus/outro repetition Dancing Shoes- The riff here is so catchy, and amazing instrumental break.. love 👍 You Probably couldn’t see for the lights but you were staring straight at me- just like the title, lyrics are a bit too wordy Still Take You Home- some good old misogyny Riot Van- A slower song, the filter on the vocals is a bit more distracting here. Feels like it doesn’t have enough substance to be a full song Red Light Indicates Doors are Secured- love the drunk storytelling nature of this 👍 Mardy Bum- I’m leaning towards the gfs side :) 👍 Perhaps Vampires Is a Bit Strong But..-Instrumental Break build up is cool, but babes you’re successful calm down When The Sun Goes Down- The cynicism in the lyrics is very good, chorus is a bit weak but still a good song 👍 From the Ritz to the rubble- I love the chorus on this one 👍 A Certain Romance- This track is one of the dullest on the album for me Very solid debut with clever lyrics and great guitars 4/5

Tears of rage- bit slow and plodding for me, but I like lyrical themes To Kingdom Come- Bit hokey pokey In a station- I think the lyrics are a bit tryhard at times but I like this overall 👍 Caledonia Mission- I really like this track, very upbeat 👍 The Weight- I guess this is the famous track on this record? Its fine We Can Talk- Feels like a poor mans we can work it out Long Black Veil- Love a good murder ballad 👍 Chest Fever- like the organ feature 👍 Lonesome Suzie- god this is a bit of a dirge This Wheels On Fire- I think I would like this better if Bob Dylan was singing it lol I Shall Be Released- good ending track 👍 I liked this fine enough, and I can see the influence (in things like Derek and the Dominoes etc), but it just isn’t quite my thing personally. 3/5

This is an ‘interesting’ album, mostly because of its ambition, but also a bit of a slog to get through to me, with the story being hammered in at expense of the overall experience. The story itself does nothing for me, especially the wholly unnecessary sexual assault songs and the drawn out awakening sequence. I think I’m fine with just listening to this just once tbh. 2/5

This is the second kinks album I’ve listened to, and even though I haven’t listened to the ‘big one’ I’m not sure I’m ever going to be one of the kinks biggest fans. I enjoyed this album, even if I think its a bit overwrought with the lyrics and arrangements on most of the songs, but again I wasn’t wowed. 3/5

Obviously respect is a stone cold classic and i also like the title track but this just feels so old fashioned to me. and the backing vocals on most tracks are distracting, not adding much. doesn’t do much for me as an album 2/5

Is there anything more obnoxious than ridiculously long song titles? Maybe not, but I still found a lot to enjoy in this admittedly longgg album. The orchestral arrangements mostly felt really solid and suitably atmospheric, though i have to admit the illnoise choir grated in the songs they were prominently featured on. All in all, didn’t blow me away on the whole but some really good songs, especially the more emotional ones. 3/5

Definitely not as immediately gripping as unknown pleasures but taking the time to get immersed in this one (I liked the later tracks more maybe because of this) its definitely a worthwhile, if not a bit depressing experience. 4/5

kinda a 2.5 to me but i’ll round it up to 3 bc im feeling nice :) it definitely is of the era and drags on a bit at times but its a cool groove that i can vibe with all the same

I have a tendency to just give 3 stars to jazz albums bc theyre nice to listen to but I would never seek them out, and I have no idea what makes a jazz album good. Anyway this is no exception

I think if this was by any other band I’d slap a one star on this and move on but because it’s radiohead i’m gaslit into thinking I just don’t get it and it’s actually good somehow, so I’ll just give it a benefit of the doubt 2. i don’t enjoy kid a so i was not surprised to not be enthused with this.

I hope for an epiphany when it comes to Bowie one day. I’ve just never really enjoyed his music outside of the hits so this was a whole load of meh for me. There are so many Bowie albums on this list and I’ve never even heard of this one before! just didn’t connect for me unfortunately 2/5

For some reason, apple music doesn’t have the longest track that makes up about a third of the album ,but honestly it’s no great loss because its a slog to get through. I’m not sure what makes this live album worth noting, but I have to say, although i’m sure james brown was a very charismatic performer and the vocals are vocalling here, I didn’t find this album all that engaging. Hadn’t heard any of the tracks before, and they all seem pretty generic. All in all 2/5

Was really looking forward to this one, but unfortunately it didn’t blow me away. I guess I don’t really get Prince, I think the famous singles on these are some of the best songs ever, but the rest didn’t wow me, and I didn’t love the album as a whole. 3/5

I’ve never been blown away by led zeppelin and this is no exception. I enjoyed most of the songs except the closing track, but it’s not somethinf I would come back to. My fave song was tangerine, seemed a bit more intimate than anything else I’ve heard from them. 3/5

I wasn’t expecting to like this album. The previous U2 album I listened to from this list I thought was really pretty boring and I was expecting the same of this album. however I think there was some great tracks on here. The fly is an all timer and all I would listen to earlier U2 with less scepticism 4/5

Obviously a classic, but at the same time not really for me. I have heard this album before but I think I skipped past most of the interludes which I listened to this time and they didn’t really add anything. I don’t really enjoy interludes. I think there is some great songs on here but it’s over an hour run time drags at points.

I never need to hear a 20 minute jam blues song I think. Also I was listening to the deluxe version which has a 30 minute jam blues song but I switched over to the standard version before that came on fortunately. I’m never going to particularly enjoy these types of albums but I don’t think they’re necessarily bad or anything just not for me. 2/5

firstly, a very unfortunate album cover. Secondly, I thought this album was fine. It had a lot of catchy songs on it but the signature madness sound starts to get a little grating before the album has finished. I definitely was growing tired as the second half of the album played. 3/5

found this vaguely annoying. i just don’t find the added instrumentation interesting and this is not a hot take, but jack whites voice is so whiny. 2/5

I liked a lot of these songs individually but a whole album full of frankly, dirges, is proving to be quite a slog, especially nearly an hour of them. Gets quite hard going towards the middle, black hair especially is a song I think is pretty awful, but alright overall. 3/5

perfectly pleasant

This album is like 5 tracks too long which I guess is the urban sprawl in album form. Pretty much every song has this driving monotony, and then if it doesn’t seem anthemic enough theres always an almost artificial buildup at the end. Which is not to say I didn’t like these songs, the album just made me feel a bit cynical at times, which again, is kinda the point? Also it definitely builds up an atmosphere that is undeniable, but also causes the songs to all feel the same at the point. I have a lot of thoughts on this one, so I think I’m gonna plump for 3 stars, I definitely think a tighter album with less filler couldve been easily 4 stars, but the album as presented is 3 stars, on the cusp of 2.

I think you just have to give into the music for this one. These tracks are long, beautiful, repetitive, lyrical, slightly frustrating etc. but on the other side I found myself having a positive experience, and I’m sure the lyrics are very poetical but I don’t think I’m going to do a deep dive tbh. Skin was a little too long even for this album but I enjoyed all the rest and Sawdust and Diamonds made me feel emotional so thats something as well. 4/5

Struggling between a 2 and a 3 for this one, because it’s just a completely fine punk album. I guess my lack of feeling predisposes me to give this a 2.

I was scared I would have to out myself again as a committed dad rock enjoyer but fortunately the middle of the album was a bit of a slog so I can just give this a 3. Classic singles but theres a lot of detritus as well.

an album i listened to a lot when it came out because my sister bought it on itunes, so some nostalgia for this one. I’ve never thought it was mindblowing, but some nice tracks on here.

I think the first half of the album is much stronger than the second, but this album is too much of a good time not to give it 5 stars.
