1001 Albums Summary

I was familiar with quite a few songs…surprisingly. Not my style of music, but there were some catchy tunes

I must give the queen of soul her due RESPECT. The album opens with that track, probably her most famous song. She has an amazing voice but her music is just not my style

I’m familiar with some of cream songs. There was one on this album that I recognized. I must say I don’t think this would’ve been my favorite album of theirs.

Finally an album I have heard before and actually had the cd at one point. Great REM album with the classic jam, It’s the end of the world…

Easy listening, relaxing, but not my style

I have never been to familiar with Janice Joplin, I did not know she was in a band. This apparently was the last album with her on vocals. It was ok

I remember when this album came out, a handful of songs got regular radio play. Good album

I recognized a couple songs, La Grange being the main one. Not much of a fan of ZZ Top

My first time hearing this, I enjoyed this album, I recognize The Jam’s influence on other bands

I remember when this album came out I was never a big Depeche Mode fan. I will say listening to it now, it’s not as bad as I thought before. 2.5 stars

Solid album, I remember seeing the Killers on this album tour

This was a unique album….at first I really was not impressed but there was something about the later songs that were oddly rhythmic

I’m an old fan of fishbone, it’s been a while since I listened to them. This album brought back memories, it started a stream of old music that was in my rotation

I guess I have to be in the mood for the Allman Brothers,, at times I like them, but I wasn’t feeling it today. Maybe it was a selection of songs. I’m actually a big fan of live music so I’m sad that this didn’t tickle my fancy.

Great album, starts of with one of my favorite Stones songs and has the perfect song to finish off the album….Gimme Shelter , You can’t always get what you want

I was hoping this was the album with “higher love”, but it wasn’t. That’s the only S. Winwood song that comes to mind

Such a great album, I want to rate this somewhere between a 4 & 5. It has such classic songs as well as a couple of bangers that didn’t get mainstream play…”why go” and “porch” 4.5 stars

This just really isn’t my style. I will be honest, I couldn’t even listen to the album in its entirety. I did think it was cool that at the very beginning they announced that the show was going to be recorded…funny how far we have come with live performances

I am not very familiar with Tom Waits, wasn’t too impressed. I would like to listen to one of his newer albums to compare, as this was not what I was expecting

What a great album! I remember when it came out, listening to it continuously, burning a whole in disc one then moving on to disc two. So many great deep cuts that never made the radio. 4.5 stars!

It’s albums like this it makes me enjoy the app. It’s an artist that I would never have thought to listen to and never have heard of. Turns out it was pretty decent and I could see myself listening to this at one point again or other works by the artist

Opens with the most classic Eagles song, the title track. I have never listened to this album in its entirety before, but I recognized a few songs. My initial thought was oh ho hum another 70s rock band, but I enjoyed how some of the songs came together.

Awesome album, brings back memories…such a good time when this album came out. I was a fan of RHCP before this, I remember my first taste was watching the movie thrashin’ and seeing them perform Blackeyed Blonde. (Great song, not on this album). I think this album was what really propelled them into the fame level they are in today

For some reason The Afghan Whigs were never on my radar when they were coming on to the music scene. I expected to be familiar to some of their songs, but they were all new to me. I enjoyed the listen. 3.5 stars
