Reviews (page 9 of 9)
I liked this ones! The first two songs I wasn't enjoying as much, but the more it got into the album the more fun I had listening to it.
The title song of this album is a complete classic but I couldn't find any other songs I could get behind. I did enjoy Wrap It Up but only for the weird noises. This was a bummer since I've always been a fan of Anne Lennox.
LOVE LOVE LOVE! Big fan of the Eurythmics and enjoyed the album.
Great álbum
I swear I try, but except for some very popular songs, Electronic music is definitely not for me. In this case, even the meme song "Sweet Dreams" is tiring.
not bad
A great throw back album, full of great memories.
Interesting, and not to discredit the fine song writing skills of Stewart and Lennox, but other than the radio hits, was pretty bland.
Gran álbum desconocía por completo de quien era la canción, pero sweet dreams es el soundtrack de posiblemente una de mis escenas favoritas de los x-mens cuando quicksilver rescata a toda la banda.. Animoooo miercolitos ombliguito de semana
Would give 5 if only some of the other songs than Sweet Dreams where as good buy, Sweet Dreams in it of itself carries the whole album, anyways it was very synth pop heavy, as expected
Not my thing
Pop, tecno. Salvo Sweet dreams el resto es un coñazo.
Sweet dreams the song is a timeless classic, the rest of the album is not, it drags a lot and the spanish song is just shameful
The titular song is the best, not super fussed otherwise
Classic & classy 80s synth-pop. Nice for a one-off listen.
Very nice. We grew up with hits from Eurythmics and Annie Lennox, especially "Sweet Dreams." I always enjoy '80s new wave, but it took me a few tracks to really get into this. The production is really solid, and Annie Lennox's vocals are always nice, but overall it wasn't as explosive as I expected. Maybe just because the hits like "Sweet Dreams" and "Here Comes the Rain Again" feel so big that some of these songs feel meek in comparison. But it's still a good project. Also, "Jennifer" sounds like a precursor to "Goodbye Horses" by Q Lazarus. That’s more than okay with me. Favorite tracks: Sweet Dreams, Jennifer, The Walk. Album art: I really like the different font choices, and the geometric shapes, but the picture in the middle is just way too small. It's comically large framing. 3.5/5
Oh well, this is pure nostalgia for me! I basically grew up with this kind of music, being driven through foreign countries on the backseat, listening to this for hours on end because no one would switch the CD. I don't think I'd like it very much, if I listened to this today for the first time, so this review might be skewed by my past, but then again, the perception of music is always subjective. And what could be better than to remember the carefree times during childhood just by listening to a song?
Semibängeri Helt bra kasaripoppia, men int kanske i min smak
Funky!
Couple of bangers, overall a 3 though
Cool listen. Sounded a bit one hit wonder.
It's fine. Sweet Dreams and Love Is A Stranger stand out, the rest is fine but not catchy enough to excite. Nothing is really bad, but nothing really great.
A very good classic. Sweet Dreams just blows me away every time
A classic album with a couple songs I already own. Fun to listen to the whole thing.
Good beats but a bit repetitive
I don't like the song Sweet Dreams so I was shocked that I love the rest of the music on this album!
80's electro-pop with a dark edge. I love that the music video for the band was banned in the US for Annie Lennox being a "Transvestite" out to confuse the youths.
Weird and fine for the most part. A couple pretty good songs.
This is awful lol just way too 80s for me
Unapologetically 80s. So many great tracks on this with some concept/wacky stuff that holds up
Not for me, chief
Ahhh! Gotta love the Eurythmics. Such great music and an unbelievable voice!
It's good but there's a bit too much synth for my liking. The titular song is an obvious highlight here.
Expected to love this but it was a big miss for me.
- this was way cooler than i expected - was expecting george michael and got talking heads - wow
Not my type of music
Too 80s for me, but not terrible.
pretty ok
Not really my thing. I enjoyed the two radio hits, they seemed much more sophisticated and better produced than the rest of the album.
Childhood favourite - incredible
better than i expected. very listenable. nice word joe.
Quintessential 80’s
An old favourite, straight from the 80's. Intelligent pop. Annie Lennox voice is always incredible.
Me gusto
Besides Sweet Dreams, nothing else stands out
'80s synth crap, don't care for it.
Auch bei diesem Album ist der bekannteste Song eher untypisch dafür. A propos typisch: eine Platte aus den 80ern.
Sim
This was good but not as good as other Eurythmics albums. Obviously got an ultimate class A banger on there but one top banger does not a banging album make.
OK - obvs sweet dreams is a banger, rest is a bit meh but still fun
Had sweet dreams
Vocals and electronic music makes this one a classic.
3/5. A lot of the vibe reminds me of early Lou Reed? Some of it is really obnoxious, some is absolutely slammin'.
Easy Listening in my opinion. I enjoyed this album while I was working
80s new wave/electronic before electronic music was a thing. "Sweet Dreams are Made of These". I do like Annie Lennox a lot. this record is fine enough I guess.
Enjoyed it a lot more than I thought. I like some of the weirdness of it, it's a unique album
Solider 80er-Sound, Satellite of Love ist gut
other than sweet dreams rest is pretty weird
A pretty sweet album. I'm running out of things to say.
Loads of cool stuff here but the title track is so immense
Love them. .
Fun
Didn’t enjoy this as much I thought I would have

Much better than I remember
Enjoyed it.
It's only Sweet Dreams that stands out, and to me it's a great instrumental done wrong by the vocals.
Boring and annoying
For synth-pop, it's surprisingly not terrible, even if I wouldn't ever choose to listen to it. Can we talk about the title track? Why are they torturing the pronunciation of "this" to rhyme with "disagree" and "seas," when they can just change the word to "these"? There's no antecedent anyway, so it's not like there's a grammar issue here. Just change the word, weirdos! Best track: Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This [sic])
11/19 Great Synth-Pop album. Standout Tracks: Love Is A Stranger, Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This), Jennifer, This Is The House, This City Never Sleeps
Nope.
Never did like Lennox and Stewarts work. Sounds awfully dated now.
Been a while since this list annoyed me with more FUCKEN new wave bullshit, good to see it hadn't exhausted its supply. This was even worse than usual new wave in that it wasn't even upbeat, just emo dog shit. 2/5 because it wasn't total anti-music.
