Black Sabbath
2/5
Not my cup of tea, didn’t get on with it at all
Michael Jackson
3/5
Kind of annoying how he's like constantly going HEE HEE and DAH and whatnot by this point. Stops me from hearing the music, which sounds like it was made on a Mega Drive, and therefore rules.
The Mars Volta
3/5
Found this more interesting than especially enjoyable or ‘good’ but I liked it
Johnny Cash
4/5
Prison is no punishment these days, they’ve all got flat screen TVs with all the channels and PlayStation 4 and Johnny Cash recording an album, it’s like a holiday camp for gods sake

Absolutely loathsome
Creedence Clearwater Revival
3/5
Wow, feel like you never actually hear more than the first couple of lines or Bad Moon Rising, in like trailers and shit.
Malcolm McLaren
4/5
I really enjoyed this album. It's a shame it's credited to Malcolm McLaren given that he did fuck all, isn't a musician, and is a bell end.
The Auteurs
3/5
I thought this was good, but not very exciting or interesting.
Korn
1/5

Thought I was going to fucking hate this when she started singing like a baby but actually i liked it more than Back to Black. More interesting. However still not my thing.
Arctic Monkeys
4/5
I was a bit down on these at the time but this is a good album. Quite sneery in a very 2005 way but I like that.
Scott Walker
3/5

What do you think Eazy E is getting at with this lyric:
So slip the see-note and you can choke
On a wind ding ding-a-ling down your throat
Foreplay to me ain't shit
When you spread them, I'm ready, then you can get the dick
Of the Eaze, if you can deal wit the size
But if you can't, parental discretion's advised

Blur
3/5
Bit of a mixed bag to be honest but good
Paul Revere & The Raiders
3/5
Cool
Herbie Hancock
3/5
Lol head. As in noshing off.
Michael Kiwanuka
4/5
Thought it was good
Queen
4/5
I was listening to all the annoying vaudeville shit on this album and rolling my eyes and then I thought to myself, hang on, if Paul McCartney wrote that you’d be sucking it right off. I really dropped a truth bomb on myself. So this album actually rules.
Joni Mitchell
5/5

Bonnie "Prince" Billy
4/5
Wow this one really did it for me. Well done.
Michael Jackson
3/5
I'm not a fan of MJ really but you can't deny that Thriller/Beat It/Billie Jean is a run of songs that's hard to beat. Thriller especially is amazing.
Al Green
3/5
Very smooth very nice
David Bowie
5/5
Favourite Bowie album for me. His voice never sounded better than on here. Eno, Fripp and Alomar all amazing of course, but mustn’t forget George Murray and Dennis David because the rhythm section is UNBELIEVABLE. Especially on Blackout. Stunning album. 1 star.

Not yet enough of a stereotypical dad to really get into this
Franz Ferdinand
5/5
When this came out I thought it was so good. And I was right
The Smiths
4/5
Most of my favourite Smiths songs are on here. You really only need this and maybe a best of or singles collection.
Pretenders
3/5
I thought I was going to love this based on the first few tracks but it loses some of the punk energy as it goes on. Still good.
The Kinks
3/5

Spiritualized
1/5
Absolutely hated this.
Parliament
3/5
Very funky
Crowded House
4/5
I can't really separate this album from my nostalgia but why should I? What's the value of being objective and balanced? Like do my opinions actually matter? no they don't.
Manu Chao
3/5
Cool
Tom Waits

Sly & The Family Stone
3/5
I liked the album. I would put it on again given the opportunity.

Sister Sledge
3/5
Weird to hear more of We Are Family other than just the chorus in an advert
Oasis
1/5
Every wanker in the UK in 1994: “oh my god I love overlong tedious songs with the worst lyrics you’ve ever heard sung in an annoying voice”
Marvin Gaye

The Byrds
2/5
Didn’t really get on with this sorry
Culture Club
3/5
Yeah good. You know what you’re getting
Coldplay
2/5
I was quite keen on this at the time but of course time has revealed it to be a cynical and soulless grab at the lucrative “songs for adverts and sports montages” market. Just an album of nothing. Extra star for residual, misguided positive feelings.
Isaac Hayes
3/5
Funky
Black Sabbath
4/5
Thought this was going to be fucking shit but I actually enjoyed it. Going to give it another spin!

The Dictators
3/5
A good laff
George Harrison
4/5
Good but could have lost a good few tracks. Some of them you’re like “Lennon and McCartney were cunts not letting him put this on” and others you’re like “yeah they had a point fuck this”
Common
3/5
I really liked the one song on here where he’s thinking about what if god was a woman and it makes him get horny
Lorde
3/5
I was thinking Taylor Swift totally ripped off the sound of this but I checked and it’s actually Jack Antonoff ripping himself off

Elvis Costello & The Attractions
4/5
Great!
Arcade Fire
4/5
The final good Arcade Fire album is, in retrospect, not quite as good as I remembered. A few too many dirges. You could cut it back to just the songs that seem to tell a story and probably have a better album. When it’s at its best it’s easily the equal of Funeral and Neon Bible, but it doesn’t happen as often as it should. I do like it a lot though. Disclaimer Win is a shit head.

Moby Grape
2/5
A 60s album by a band called ‘Moby Grape’ seemed like it would be the worst thing ever recorded, but it wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be. Thought it would be more psychedelic. It did have too much 60s white guy boomy soul singing though.

Joanna Newsom
5/5
I heard this when it came out and liked it, and I left her set at Latitude 2005 halfway through because I had to go and start the absolute worst job I’ve ever had in my life, but apart from that I wasn’t very familiar. Listened to it repeatedly since it came up on here, it’s amazing, one of the best albums made.

The Beta Band
4/5
Looked up my rating of the other Beta Band album we've had and was surprised I went with '2 stars - the boring band' because i really liked this one
The Killers
4/5
Nostalgia is a powerful thing. There's some underrated bass playing on this, which is where it gets most of its Duran Duran vibes. All These Things That I've Gone would make a great album closer but it's only track 5 and is followed by some pretty forgettable stuff. For my rating I shall refer you back to the first sentence of this review.
