Rating may be affected by the setting of first listen, and sound quality (makes it sound very dated). Enjoyable, I'd throw this on at a beach in DR for sure. No particular standout track.

Karma Chameleon is a certified jam. Second half is better than the first. Standout tracks: Church of the Poison Mind, Mister Man, Victims, Melting Pot.

3.5/5, probably sounds best after a long day at work, a lot of working class, cog in the machine themes. Standout Tracks: Adam Raised a Cain, Racing in the Street, Darkness on the Edge of Town.

4.5/5. A bit samey throughout (songs blending into each other although that's certainly a curse of younger ears than the record), but this is certainly a classic. Enjoyable, surprisingly catchy and positive hooks, makes you want to get up and dance. Feels like I should be on speed in a 90s office. Or tripping balls at a house party. Very little in between. I feel like I would have really liked this album if I was around at the time just out of it's punk, alt-rock nature. There's some hip hop influence in this record that I attribute to Rick Rubin's production. Good album, although it starts to drag on with 17 tracks. A great groover that earns itself a solid, strong 4 from me. Really easy to make a mediocre muck of this genre, but they do it right with catchy hooks, varied production backing the synth-i-ness of it all, and a dramatically romantic lead with a brass voice. No moments where they go above and beyond to me, feels more slow burn on the dance floor in a drug haze type vibes, so at 4 it stays.
