throw it in the trash

Pretty straightforward CCR. Great shit, but no surprises.

Not for me im afraid.

Really enjoyed this album.

chooglin

Chooglin... Rolling on a river and God Golly Miss Molly were as iconic as i thought they would be

Classic rock is classic for a reason

It's CCR. Find some nice weather, grab a cooler full of beer, sit back and relax.

Perfect music to brew beer to

Classic southern rock feel. Jam-band-esque. Good background noise

Good solid album

American Beatles

Chooglin

Good ol CCR

This album defines their 'swamp rock' sound and showed the world what they could do in terms of lyrics("Born on the Bayou" and " Proud Mary") but also that they can dish out the awesome guitar solos ("keep on chooglin" ) and even has some lighter/catchier tracks ("Bootleg" and "rollin' on the river") and the fact that they released this album and it was so great but also put out 2 other albums the same year.

Not my favorite CCR album but still good.

Oh this album is great! 10/10 not a bad track here

So brilliant

Classic CCR. Only knew 2 hits off this record, Born on the Bayou and Proud Mary. Great driving music. I also liked bootleg, rest the album had great sounds, but maybe blended together, songs slightly discernible from the next. 3.5/5

I'm listening to Bayou Country from CCR as my album of the day. It's good, solid music and it lays the blueprint for their sound and I understand the place this album has in music history. But man, the squealing guitars, and the bluesy swampy sound is a bit rough in fluorescent cube farm I'm working in right now. I'm looking forward to Proud Mary as the next track, it's cool to hear such a giant song in the smaller context of this album and track list. Trying to imagine hearing this for first time in 1969. The song literally rolls, like on the river, and the ebbs and flows become hypnotic.

BOOLAY BOOLAY, BOOOLAY HOWL!

Pretty good

BOOLAY BOOLAY, BOOLAY HUH!

eh, CCR is so generic

Too many iconic hits to give less than a 4, although there is a little slack in the middle of this short album

The kind of party we all want to go to. Love Fogarty's voice, and the choogle is king.

Naiice love some backwoods bayou boogie

The music's not objectively bad but there's something about this band that doesn't sit right with me, I don't know what it is.

Classic but maybe doesn't hold up

Thought I’d like this more than I did.Wasn’t keen on the guitar sound (eg. on Bootleg) has that 60’s twang. Ok on second listen I liked the album a bit more eg - Born on the Bayou

Pari hittibiisiä joista en ole koskaan tykännyt. Levyn muut biisit eivät yltäneet edes tuolle tasolle.

I thought this was the best album ever until Ethan told me it wasn't. I listened to it again with something to prove and it just made me angry and sad at my naivety. Still banging roadtrip album. The Stones x Led Zeppelin and I loved it. You ruin my magic Faith.

Very enjoyable. Makes me want to go drive across America, crack open a beer at a dive bar, or watch Supernatural.

I'm giving it two stars, but only because I think Green River will be on here and it's their better album?

Good album. Good tunes, nothing legendary but nothing bad

Art and Paul were the soundtrack of my childhood. I never listened to the entire album before and it was an interesting mix of mellow and lively.

BORN IN THE BAYOU

Not normally in to the blues but I enjoyed this. Didn’t know they wrote Proud Mary.

all of it is very good

demasiado song of the south pa mi gusto

Ik ken(-de) de band niet van naam, maar de liedjes wel. Heerlijk swingende rock, weinig effecten en opsmuk. De zanger kan heerlijk oversturen en heeft een fijn rauw randje. Lekkere muzikale intermezzo's, bijv in Graveyeard Train. Opname kwaliteit is goed en als de cd is afgelopen baal ik dat er niet meer nummers op staan. Dit album zou ik wel weer opnieuw luisteren.

Good, fun, solid album. Very easy to listen to. I don't know if there actually is a lot of variation but it feels like there is, which either way is a plus for me. Can't help but dance along a little bit. Some songs drag on a little bit

This is CCR coming into their own, but maybe not quite nailing it perfectly. The highs are high. Born On A Bayou and Proud Mary are all time classics, Bootleg is solid, but the lows aren’t cutting it for me. Good Golly Miss Molly and Penthouse Pauper are fine, but not standout. Graveyard Train is WAY too long, Keep On Chooglin is also a bit long but it’s little more fun and engaging.

Pretty good, slaps

i feel like each song sounds pretty similar but this is like ultimate classic rock

One of my favorites!

A classic. So many good songs.

One of my favourite

Always love me some CCR

Groovy, blues, swamprock, nemt lyt, fængende, råt

"Proud Mary" A short album. I like the instrumentals.

Creedence demonstrates their ability to rock out, but this is a rather obvious ramp-up to the significantly better second album of the year. "SF band does swamp rock" is a fun formula, but the largely overdone vocal affect reveals that it is, indeed, formulaic. The instrumental palette enchants in the way the smell of wet moss does. Thus, it's a shame that there is not more harmonica in Graveyard Train. The rest of the longer jams work well, but that one would be better covered by a stoner metal outfit, I think.

1969. Key Songs: Proud Mary, Penthouse Pauper

Classic Creedance

Not for me
