Ellington at Newport
Duke EllingtonOMG this was long... I think I could've watched the whole movie Whiplash in this time (which I would've preferred)
OMG this was long... I think I could've watched the whole movie Whiplash in this time (which I would've preferred)
WTF is this? Terrible... It sounds like drunk Johnny Depp from Pirates of the Caribbean trying to make a concept album...
This album is weirdly both great and bland at the same time.
Fun album. I'm familiar with Neil Young but haven't spent a ton of time listening to Neil Young. Definitely something I'd listen to again. There are a lot of bands that I do listen to - Band of Horses, Kings of Leons, Airborne Toxic Event - that suddenly I'm like "...oh, they probably grew up listening to Neil Young"
I somewhat like this, but is sounds very dated. You listen to this and then Master of Puppets by Metallica (86) or Appetite for Destruction by GNR (87) and this feels 25 years older...
Common People is a jam... Nothing wrong with this album. Just okay-ish.
PE was never amongst my absolute favorite rap groups, but I consistently enjoy them. Chuck D has such a commanding presence and Flavor Flav brings so much personality. Beats are great. Lots of stuff that creeps onto running playlists for me here...
Semi interesting, but can't say I'm ever going to double back to this one...
I kind of like this and kind of don't... Some classics, though.
This wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be.
Probably on my list of 10 greatest hip hop albums ever. What can you say that hasn't been said. Classic, no skips.
Strange album. I can see why people like it. I really didn't, though.
I started off dreading this a little as I'm typically not wild about music in other languages. Was surprisingly interesting.
Solid, but not spectacular. I can listen to Gang Starr all day, but there is never one song that I'd tell a friend "you HAVE to listen to this song"
Not a fan
Technically good, but it doesn't do much for me. Just not my genre/era of music...
This was bad. Felt like they were trying really hard to be Bjork
Love this album! I have no idea what any of the lyrics are about and the song titles make no sense. I could listen to this album over and over again. Tangent: I had about a 2 year period between the start of my last semester of college before I met my wife. I was pretty lonely and that's the period of time when I started running. This album came out during that time and I would listen to the MP3's on one of those goofy mp3 players that strapped around your arm all the time. Music from this era always reminds me of that goofy time in my life where I was really lonely, but kind of really found myself through running.
Sounds like stuff my mom listens to but it's actually pretty awesome.
Tough listen. Like felt almost like a cruel joke to me... I couldn't listen to this and not think of the movie the Mighty Wind (which may have better music!)
Good background album at work for the morning. I can recognize that it's really well made, but it's not something I'd listen to running on the treadmill or in the car. It's the exact kind of music I'd expect to hear as the perfect ambient noise at a cool local coffee spot or a small brewery
A lot of these songs seem to hit the same chord for me. Good... not great. Really like the song with the lead singer of the National, though.
I didn't think I'd ever heard of Nick Drake before but then I heard "One of These Things First" which I recognized from the Garden State soundtrack. Solidly good album that I am sure I don't appreciate as much as I probably should...
I didn't really know the background of this album. But as I was listening, I kept thinking this sounds a little bit like what would happen if Paul Simon sang the Lion King soundtrack. Read up on the history of the album and it's South African roots and it made a lot more sense.
Entire album feels like a huge downer. A lot of bands I've liked are influenced by Joy Division... but I find I like a lot of those bands more than I like actual Joy Division.
This seems impossibly bad... I actually like some of there other stuff (Who Was In My Room Last Night, Pepper, Hurdy Gurdy Man) but this wasn't for me
Being Tribe Called Quest us my favorite band, of course a vibey, feel good early 90s hip hop album is going to rank high for me. I love the bouncy but melodic sound of old school hip hop. Oh Shit is great and Passin' Me By is an all-timer. I don't think I've ever listened to this whole album before...
I'm not sure, but I'm not wild about most British rap (except the Streets!)
Never have heard this album before, but obviously have heard a lot of songs. The first half of the album seems to have the hits whereas the second half is more experimental. 35 minutes which I tend to think is around the sweet spot for a lot of albums. Glad I listened to this one
I've seen Beck in concert twice, but literally wasn't familiar with any song on this album. Which makes sense because this music is a little more mellow than most of the songs he plays live. Completely listenable, but just a little on the sleepy side for me.
I can hear the influences on a lot of similar sounding music that came after it. I'm sure in 1991, this was very cutting edge and influential. There just seems like a lot of music that does something similar a little bit better. Not terrible, but definitely not something I'm dying to listen to again.
Fred Armison did a sketch on SNL where he played an 80s punk singer reuniting at his daughters wedding. This sounds like that... Also - the album sounds like it was recorded on a potato
Never have listened to this album before but was obviously pretty familiar with a lot of songs. The first song sounds a little like Elton John trying to play Rush (not in a bad way). I recognize Elton John is talented and get why people love him. I'm just not a huge Elton John fan... never have been.
Very British. Never heard of it before. Definitely wasn't mind blowing, but not bad.
This sounds WAY more like an 80s album than something that came out the same year as Nevermind, Gish, and the Black Album. I'm curious what about this album makes it qualify for this list. Sounds like elevator music to me...
I'd never heard anything other than Epic. Sounds a little bit like an alternative band dipping their toes in nu metal. Sneaky good War Pigs cover. Not something I'll listen to again and again, but kind of a fun listen that takes me back to the early 90s.
1 note into the song and I'm recognize the song. Not from Steely Dan, but from a sample from the late 90s rap song "Deja Vu" by Lord Tariq and Peter Gunz. A few songs later, I hear "Peg" which was sampled by De La Soul on 3 Feet High and Rising I listen to this and I'm constantly reminded that older music seems way more musical than most modern music. Overall, pretty good album
Pretty amazing awesome art, but WTF is this!?! Nick Cave has come quite a way from this. Give me the Peaky Blinders theme song on repeat 1000 times before listening to this again
Listening to this album, I could just hear the influences on a bunch of 80s bands. Like if you told me Motley Crue, GNR, or Van Halen grew up listening to this stuff, I could totally see it. The entire album has pretty awesome guitar
I've never listened to this before. In fact, I don't think I've ever heard the original version of "I Wanna Be Your Dog" although I've heard it covered live at least a handful of times (latest by Guns N Roses last summer). Strange to see an 8-song, 34 minutes album with 1 song that is over 10 minutes long.
Not gonna lie - a lot of this music sounds like the old light parade music at Disney World. There is nothing egregiously bad here. It's just not my cup of tea. I found myself really hoping the album would be done.
Really enjoyed this one. As it's the winter that will never end, I'm excited about the possibility of sitting outside when it's 75 degrees out and listening to an album that seems like it's meant to be listened to in open air. "Side B" of the album contains all the hits.
Never have heard this album before, but obviously knew a few of the hits. Apparently all of the Lou Reed songs I know are on this album. When is the last time you've heard a tuba as a bassline? I loved this album.
I remember all of the weird kids in middle school wore NIN and Tool shirts. And now here I am kinda loving both bands. It's weird how Trent Reznor combines so many sounds without sounding contrived. A song like Heresy has a pulsing beat and an intense screaming chorus, yet he manages to almost invoke tones of Prince in the verses. I never listened to this album until I was an adult, but I think if I would've found this at a younger (read: more angsty) age, I would've wore it out.
Anytime I hear an older album like this, it reminds me of Christmas music. This is probably good. I just don't need to listen to it.
As a fan of hard rock music in general, this album is basically flawless. Enter Sandman is on the list of greatest album openers ever. What more can say beyond this is simply one of the all-time great albums?
A 28 song, 41 minute album?!? I know nothing about Guiding By Voices other than they play 4 hour concerts and a lot of "music people" I follow seem to love them. I can hear the stuff that is influential on the indie scene. Don't loathe it, but I certainly was kinda hoping it would be done soon.
Nothing offensive here. Just not an album I overly connected with.
I find a lot of music from the 60s and 70s just doesn't quite hit with me for whatever reason. Maybe it's the same reason I'm not loving a lot of newer music. But not this album. This was great!
I spent an hour and 20 minutes inside an elevator... Joking aside, I never realized this is there the sample to Beastie Boys "Looking Down the Barrel of the Gun" came from.
I feel like JK Simmon's character from Whiplash would wind down for the night listening to this exact album.
Painful listen for me...
I'm strangely into this... Weird coincidence... I read a book (Sellout) that talked about a historic performance by At the Drive In at Big Day Out. They give an extended shout out to the Fall who'd I'd never heard of.
Not a big Elton John fan but this was fine...
Two Kinks albums in like a week? Felt like the other album was better. This doesn't do much for me.
Interesting album. Would be a great background album. Not something I'd listen to every day, but I liked it more than I didn't like it. I feel like I need half stars. This would be like a three and a half to me.
Not in the Metallica/Slayer/Megadeath/Anthrax category for me, but pretty good. I found two songs that are quite runnable for me. Definitely not for everyone and I don't love it, but I can hear some influences on bands that I do love (mainly Bring Me the Horizon and Slipknot). I had no idea these guys were Brazillian.
I love this album. Early 90s had more fun than a lot of modern rap. LL Cool J was a really fun rapper before he turned into a "meh" actor.
Had only heard Psycho Killer. This was great! Need to go down a Talking Heads rabbit hole...
Sal's dad! I'm not usually a big fan of jazz but this guy has very obvious chops.
Pretty forgettable. Nothing offensive, but certainly didn't NEED to listen to this.
This is freaking awesome. How in the world have I never heard this before?!?
I feel like the name of this band could be "Kinda Boring Oasis" There are no bad songs. But there are no great songs. Completely average music.
I'm also listening to the Rolling Stone top 40 punk albums of all time. This one is number 14 which means it's better than Dookie, Milo Goes to College, 13 Songs, and Enema of the State (spoiler: it's not). I like this fair enough. I really like the instrumentation but I'm not in love with the vocals.
Sneaky good. I'd never guess this is 44 years old. Curious why this guy didn't have a bigger career...
This was fine... I certainly didn't love it
Pretty average album. Really liked the song NY. Not much else stood out.
Meh. Not terrible. Weird flute solos. Not for me.
Meh
I don't love the Eagles, but this is admittedly not bad.
I was excited to check this out as I'm not super familiar with Bowie, but I like most of what I heard. I didn't really love this, though
All time great album... lots of hits and the album cuts are top notch. Really wish I would've seen this band in concert around this era. Not a bad song on this album.
Kinda like this album, honestly... Big Zoolander vibes.
Pretty sleepy...
Fine but doesn't do much for me...
This sounds very much like the music of the original Woodstock. Not really my thing, but definitely not bad...
Some of this was certainly fine. Really long, but then I found out that a bunch of the songs of the Spotify album are re-releases and bonus. It sounds like the predecessor to a lot of the music I listen to now. I probably won't purposely listen to this again...
I'm not wild about most foreign language music. If I was sitting at a coffee place in South Africa, I'd be game for hearing this music. Sitting in an office in MN? Not so much...
Low key... I kinda love Lou Reed (as long as he's not making an album with Metallica). Not quite on the level as his iconic album, but this is damn good.
I was a sophomore in college when I first heard SOTD and I listened to them constantly. They may have been the unofficial soundtrack to flipping burgers at A&W in South Fargo. I've always loved the mixture of a hard rock with the Armenian ethnic vibe.
Lots of songs banged into 22 minutes... I finally know where the song Money featured in Tommyboy came from
Certainly a solid album. A lot more hits that I realized. Not something I'd listen to every day, though.
Absolutely love this album!
Every song is kinda the same... but they're all Little Richard, so it's cool.
Not a fan
Never have heard of this, but I kinda love this... Sounded like a better version of one of the many Prince proteges from the 80s.
A bit repetitive, but man this reminds me of going to the dance clubs in college. You can make a pretty good 12 song playlist of Basement Jaxx songs
I really good album with a lot of influential and memorable songs that I really don't connect with
Surprised by the amount of pretty awesome guitar solos here. Mountain Song and Jane Says are all time great songs, but the rest of the album is absolutely solid. If I were to have one knock, a lot of the songs sound quite similar.
I'm sure I'd have liked this is I was 20 years old in 1985. It's not bad but it's nothing fantastic.
It's fine...
Listen to this a ton when I was in HS. Solid album with some surprisingly good songs. Rap album skits have always been dumb
The only thing I know about Herbie Hancock is the Herbie Hancock joke by Chris Farley from Tommyboy. Not in my wheelhouse. Pretty experimental for this era of jazz.
Its fine
I feel like I'm at Woodstock. :) Really good album! Didn't realize how many hits came off this album.
If I loved jazz, I'm sure I would've loved this...
I don't really like Frank Sinatra...
I don't know how I feel about it. Certain parts were good. Other parts felt like they were trying way too hard. I don't need to listen to it again, so I guess I'd lean a little more in the negative direction.
A good amount of hits and solid album cuts.
I can see why Fugazi gets a lot of love from "music people." I've really loved both albums I've checked out!
Not bad... I loved this movie as a kid and the theme song is great.
I've never actually listened to Tommy. Maybe I needed to listen to it while staring into a candle (a la Almost Famous). Great album, though...
Some good songs and a lot of what felt like guitar porn... Would probably have been a 3-star for me until we hit the last two songs which are fantastic.
Fine... not really my cup of tea, but it wasn't objectionable or anything.
Hell yes! So many hits and hard hitting album cuts like Assassin. Probably my favorite album of a band I really love. Knights of Cydonia is an all-timer! One of my favorite running songs ever...
Classic! Love the hits. Album cuts were solid but not quite the same level...
Became familiar with these guys reading the book Meet Me in The Bathroom. You can feel some of the roots that influenced some of the early 2000s rock revival. This just isn't as good as a lot of those albums...
A lot of 70s punk sounds exactly the same... not that it's bad. It just sounds like a lot of other stuff.
I wasn't really expecting to enjoy this, but it was sneaky good.
Obviously some stuff that would be problematic today, but it's still a pretty great album. There is a reason that an entire generation of angsty youth connected with Eminem
Almost got a 5 star just for Gimme Shelter alone. Not in love with all the country-ish influences (just not my thing), but this is undeniably a great album
Every time I hear the Beatles, I think I'm supposed to like them. But I really don't...
Seems like a completely average album to me. Why this is a "must listen" album is a total mystery to me.
Not my music, but it's not bad...
Love this!
I was a big Flogging Molly fan growing up. I always saw Billy Bragg as an influence or similar band. I can see why.
In high school, I remember thinking a lot of the crazy kids really liked Marilyn Manson. And then in college, I realized I kinda dug some of this music. And now as I'm a little older, I dig it let. But there are still a few songs here I can run to.
This is perfectly good music. It's just not anything I'd listen to all that often... BTW - I had no idea Al Green was still alive.
Not great... not terrible. I actually really loved the first song. Had kind of a mix of punky, folky, and psychedelic sound... rest of the album didn't seem to measure up to me.
This sounds literally NOTHING like a Beach Boys album...
Fun listen. I've heard of MC5 but never really listened to them before.
This may be sacrilege, but I'm just not wild about most 60s/70s R&B. Probably the same way my kids cringe every time I play "my" music in the car.
Good but not great
2112 is my go to first song for races. It used to be because I'd go out too hard and die, so I'd make myself listen to that whole song before I could start to pick it up. I really like this album (I'd never listened to any of the other songs before)
I'm usually not wild about albums from this era but this one was great!
Mixed bag. Tom Sawyer, XYZ and Limelight are awesome. Other songs are so so
Some good songs, but a little bit heavy on the instrumental solos for me...
I know these guys were very influential, but it's not something I need to listen to again.
I really don't like this band... two albums by them is kinda painful.
This is really freaking good!
Yes yes y'all! All timer...
Solid album but a lot of songs sounded thr same...
This strangely sounds NOTHING like what I think of when I think of the Bee Gees.
Certainly not my favorite David Bowie album, but it's definitely listenable
Interesting... never heard of this but it was alright
It's fine. A few great songs but mostly forgettable
Why in the world this would be in the 1001 albums you must listen to list is beyond me?!?
I'm a fan... I only knew about two songs before but this is sneaky good
I absolutely love this album from start to finish. Back in the day, this was my first foray into electronica music.
Rough listen. Reminds me of a music class I took in college that was at time painful!
I hate Radiohead. This is so boring and overrated.
Not my favorite PE album. Love Welcome to the Terrordome. Still fun for what is a really political album.
Good stuff!
Without trying to sound like a complete xenophobe, I don't need these foreign language albums on a 1001 albums to listen to list...
Meh... felt like a chore to listen to.
All time great album! Alright is an all time great song!
It was kinda cool that I was in Chicago when the album generator gave me an album by Chicago. But this is the kinda music my mom listens to. It's fine... just not my style.
I like this album but it gets a little drone-y and sounds a little repetitive at times...
Never have seen this movie but fairly familiar with a lot of this music (a lot of it has been sampled in 90s rap). Solid album.
Kinda genre defying. So many strange instrument solos. Oddly, kinda works...
I'm convinced that every Janes Addition song has two great songs and the rest is kinda meh. Nothing's Shocking - Mountain Song, Jane Says Ritual De Lo Habitual - Stop, Been Caught Stealing Strays - Just Because, Superhero
This is a tough listen...
Janis Jopis is historically great, but this just doesn't do much for me...
WTF is this? Terrible... It sounds like drunk Johnny Depp from Pirates of the Caribbean trying to make a concept album...
I somewhat like this, but is sounds very dated. You listen to this and then Master of Puppets by Metallica (86) or Appetite for Destruction by GNR (87) and this feels 25 years older...
I don't love a lot of 70s, baby-making R&B music...
Good but overall not an album I'f find myself listening to much. I know this was huge when it came out. I'm just not a country fan. The entire sits on one "zone" for me.
Meh
1001 Albums list needs less foreign language albums...
Great 80s rock... Photograph is fantastic. I hadn't heard anything else on this album before.
I'm usually not wild about old R&B, but this hits differently. Really liked it!
Some hits, but a few skippable songs.
When this came out, I was BIG into hip hop. I never understood why this one got so much love. Average-ish beats. It's just nothing special to me...
You know movies that are up for best picture at the Oscars that critics rave about, but you don't know a single person that actually enjoyed. This might be the audio equivalent of that! Not altogether bad. Just not terribly excited, that's for sure...
For some reason, I was thinking the double album with the album with more "hits" but I knew I liked this. It's kind of crazy to hear how fresh this still sounds 30 years later compared to how tired everything they've made in the past 20 years sounds...
First song, I'm thinking "oh no... another boring album." But then the next few songs, I was taken aback how much I liked this.
This sucks. This is exactly what I think of when I think of boring, overrated indie rock.
I listened to this A LOT in college. Before Kanye turned into a crazy person, he was an all-time great producer and I'm pretty sure this is the first album I heard him on.
I know this is an all-time great album, but I didn't absolutely love it.
I've literally never heard of a New Order song other than Blue Monday. Like this a lot, though...
VERY 90s sounding... a fun album albeit very, very average...
No more foreign albums please!
Never heard of this guy before but this was interesting
I don't hate this although it sounds a lot like the same song over and over (and over). I do love Holiday in Cambodia, though. Probably one bonus star just for that song...
Love a few of these songs, but a few of them are kind of meh. I like his other album better.
Not something I'd listen to again but it was okay
Not my favorite Smiths album, but definitely listenable...
I'm not sure if this is good or not but I've always kinda liked them. Setting Sun is a great running song for me...
I've been on the "Beyonce is overrated" bandwagon for years. This sucks, though... it boggles my mind why this was so critically acclaimed.
I enjoyed this a surprising amount...
I'm only familiar with Depeche Mode's "radio hits" but this is awesome! Reminds me of a lot of music that is doubling back to 80s sounds right now. Really, really good!
Love this album! I didn't know this was the debut of Boy Named Sue.
Decent older pop album. Not something I'd seek out but wasn't bad
For the time, this feels very innovative. You still hear these samples in modern music even today...
Such a great album!
This album is weirdly both great and bland at the same time.
When I was in college, I would've been the first person to crap on this album. Having seen them in concert a few times, though, I've grown to appreciate U2. Some great songs here... first half of the album stronger than the second half. Amazing that this bad had a huge album in the 80s, a huge album in the 90s, a huge album in the 00s and probably the biggest tour of the 10s.
How many Kraftwerk albums are they going to force us to listen to!?!
I'm not the world's biggest Led Zeppelin fan but this is undeniably awesome
Some really good songs and some that were pretty skippable. Overall, not bad for a 65 year old album...
Not my cup of tea... I know that he's on the old country music Mount Rushmore with Johnny Cash (and others). But I prefer Johnny Cash...
This sounds like knockoff Public Enemy
Pretty cool album. Wasn't wild about the close of disc two (wtf is going on with "The Trial") but solid overall.
I didn't know any of these songs. I was surprised how much I enjoyed this!
No skips on this album! This is absolutely my favorite album of the 2010s. Masterpiece!
Crazy mix of the biggest Christmas songs ever and random songs that are really good but completely unknown
I'd never guess this was a 1960s band. Lots of covers on the album. I really love their sound... very old school punk!
Really fun album! Good live energy. Lots of great songs here...
This is weirdly enjoyable and weirdly grating at the same time...
Well made music in a genre I will admit I don't fully appreciate.
I feel like I was a little young when it came out, so I'd never heard this (minus the obvious singles) but it definitely holds up.
A fun punk rock album that I would certainly listen to again.
Amazing album! I've heard the hits but never the whole album. This is so good!
Never heard any of these songs. All of Queen's hits are awesome but so overplayed. It was refreshing to just hear Queen being awesome.
I'm sure this was influential at the time. Great passion and you can feel how hard he's working. Just not something I connect with.
Not a bad song on this album. When I was a freshman in college, "One Step Closer" was a big MTV hit. I bought the cd because back in 2000, I bought the CD of any album that had a song I loved. Upon the first listen, I realized that was a band that was much more than they appeared on the surface. Nu metal is often criticized as mimicking other genres but comes off like it's trying to hard. This album has elements of metal/screaming, hip hop, and melodic rock and it does all of it exceptionally well. This might be one of my favorite albums we've had yet.
It's not super exciting when you hear 1 note and you know this album isn't for you. I've never heard of Ray Price. Sure he's a lovely individual. I don't need to listen to more of his music, though.
I've heard the hits but never this full album. Great album!
Every song is the same
A perfectly acceptable album that's probably average compared to other Fleetwood Mac albums
This album is like every genre of music...
I adore this album! A bunch of classics. Short and fun songs aplenty.
I love every song on this album. Top tier stuff for me
Not a bad album. Not the best from the Beach Boys. All of their songs seem to hit the same note...
I'm not a country fan, but she can certainly sing.
I don't love love the Beatles but that's top tier stuff
Solid album. Would definitely listen again!
Starts off with an absolute bang (Ace of Spades) but the rest of the album doesn't quite measure up. Still an above average album
I don't like his voice
Solid album. Doesn't sound like a 1993 album. I would definitely dig a little deeper into their catalogue.
Isn't this the Hole album that's rumored to have been written by Kurt Cobain? It sure seems like it. Great album
I know PJ Harvey's career predates the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, but it sounds so eerily similar. Not something I'd seek out, but I also wouldn't turn it off.
Win Butler might be a creep but this is a nearly perfect album
This sounds like foreign Billy Idol. Instrumentally, every song is quite different. The language thing is a tough barrier for me...
Really good but not my favorite Cure album
Really solid album. Mix of hits and really good album cuts
OMG this was long... I think I could've watched the whole movie Whiplash in this time (which I would've preferred)
All time great album. Not a bad song here! One of my favorite albums in the world when I was 15 years old is still one of my favorite albums in my 40s...
This strikes me as a very unmemorable ABBA album. Completely fine, but why is on a "you must listen to this" list?
Fantastic album! Great singles. Some of the album cuts are underwhelming, though
This doesn't do much for me...
Perfectly fine music that I would never sit down and listen to...
Slightly repetitive but oh so fun. I really love some of these songs!
I can recognize the immense talent. But these are long songs that kind of feel like they don't go anywhere. I get the same feeling listening to jam band music.
I had fun with this album!
I don't hate Coldplay but I was surprised by how many songs I knew AND really liked
Cult of Personality is an all-time great song! It's not an all-time great album, though. Enjoyable, but I'm not dying to listen again.
An album that was not super memorable, but overall not bad
Nothing against this album. It's well made and if you said "this is my favorite album", I could certainly see it. It's just not something I'd get excited about reading about.
Didn't enjoy this
Kinda fun. Little bits of ska before that came a thing. Definitely original.
This is a strange album for me. It's kinda likeable and listenable, but there is this "look how hard I'm trying" and "look how creative I am" piece that I find distracting...
Didn't know I liked ZZ Top as much as I apparently do!
A pleasant listen. Bang a Gong doesn't sound like a 52 year old song!
This sounds exactly like every other Neil Young album. Which is completely fine.
I wad kinda excited about this album because I like the song Dice which was the only song I'd ever heard of. Didn't love this though
This album is good, but I don't love all of it. Is that fair to say?
Another album that I can say is objectively good that I just don't really need to listen to that often...
This is pretty dang good. Out of 10 songs, 3 are all-timers that will be around long after me...
On the scale of 1 to 5, this album is at least an 11. Joking aside, one of my favorite albums ever. Never gets old...
NGL - this sounds like every average-ish indie album that "music people" praised in teh 90s. Not bad musically, but the leader singer lacks something
Meh
I love a few of these songs (19-2000, Clint Eastwood), I'm mixed on a few. I don't hate any of them. This was a fun album at the time that hit a bunch of different genres. Kind of like a mellow version of what Linkin Park was doing at the time...
One of the all time great albums. Peak Kanye
I've never even heard of these guys but I kinda dig this!
This sounds like it would've been one helluva great concert to be at. I don't know half of these songs, but I'm completely in...
This is absolutely one of the best albums we'll get on the 1001 albums list!
This is one of my wife's absolute favorite bands. They're a touch sleepy for me, but still solid.
This album sucked.
I liked this a lot more than I thought I would...
A good but not great album with a couple awesome songs...
I would definitely listen to this again!
All-time great album. Not a bad song
Great album!
Too weird for me...
Not for me...
Enjoyed this more than I thought I would...
This was great!
Love the first song... and not so much the rest of the album
I love the singles, but the album cuts are awesome as well. Fantastic album!
Great first song. Solid rest of the album, but nothing mind-blowing for me...
I don't love the Beatles but this is good
Awesome album!
The three radio singles are fantastic. Rest of the album is pretty meh...
Like but don't love this album
I didn't love this at all...
I actually like a lot of this dj music from this era. Not bad but not great...
Absolute 5-star classic album
First I've heard of this
NGL - I kinda dig this!
