KIWANUKA
Michael KiwanukaFirst song and I’m already loving this. What a great album! I got Black Pumas vibes and just overall really loved everything that was done here. Surprised he hadn’t come up before in my listening.

Yay :’)
I feel like i’ve listened to every song on this album without realizing what I was listening to. Hit after hit!
I enjoyed the album. I’ve Seen All Good People… is a great song. Nothing stuck out to me as being notably different or experimental but maybe for its time.

A bit emo but pretty cool. An upbeat jazz feel to it but pretty hard hitting lyrics.
Love the sound of Sly & The Family Stone. Love the commentary in their songs even more.
This is way out of my wheel house and I just can’t say I love the genre. My low rating is just personal preference based.
Even Flow has me reflecting vividly on guitar hero for some reason. I’m also realizing i’ve never really listened to Pearl Jam and I’m not sure I love the vibe

I love this album and it’s a constant in my rotation. Not much more to say about it bc it’s legendary
This album long af! I guess objectively though this is a pretty solid album musically. The orchestra is pretty cool too. Not my favorite though.
Very solid and definitely love the Strokes early stuff
Meh. I’m not a huge fan of Nick Drake’s voice to begin with and just wasn’t excited about any of the songs on this.
Top tier stuff
Really enjoyed this
Aw I just recently listened to this and I really really love it. Love u George-y <3 hate u Yoko
Very nice while waiting for the redline to 95th. I confused this with Nick Cave at first and was bummed to have to listen to another one of his albums but this is much better. Also that tooth on the cover is what I imagine my teeth are feeling constantly
It’s a no from me dawg
Very nice
All I could think about during the album is the running man and parachute pants. She was saying some stuff of substance for sure. Would like to go 2.5.
Funky. Cool cover art
I would realistically give like a 2.6 for this. Better than expected
There she goes again
Very fun(ky)
I’d go a 3.8 here. Obviously this is a great album but i’ve just never gotten super into Jay Z. I don’t know what it is
I’d go like 2.7 here. Autobahn was bangin but the others a bit too experimental for me. Definitely makes me want to listen to more kraftwerk though
2.5 I really liked a couple songs
Dang whatever happened to to those Maxwell House coffee commercials
Beyoncé had the best music video of all time
Right in the middle for me. Nothing too stand out but definitely not bad
Yay :’)
This was enjoyable. Kind of a shame Personal Jesus is in whatever commercial it’s in. Definitely a few hits on this album though…i’m going 3.7.
They said hootchie cootchie too many times on that one song. There were a couple more interesting songs here that saved the album for me…2.6 still though.
That’s a lot of bongo.
I’d probably go 3.5 on this. I liked it but for some reason does feel a little cheesy
The hit on the album is good but just feels sorta middle of the road for me…
Have I never heard the stutter on My Generation before?!
VERY good I really loved this
I definitely thought one song was the intro to How It’s Made. On another note if I were to do Berghaintrainer and mention the chemical brothers I feel like I would finally get in…. Some of this was good but it got too deep techno for me others
Power to the people
So anyone gonna follow up on that fish cakes recipe?
I really was convinced I had heard every one of these songs in a cheesy rom com….not terrible not my fave. I’ll go 2.7
RIP Buddy Holly :( this album helped me understand why poodle skirts were a thing. Would have been so fun to bop around in at a Buddy Holly show
This was intense! Interesting and exciting but 40 minutes of it may be just too much at once for me. 3.4
It was nice in the background
Was not a fan
3.5
Chill beats to study to
Never forget when Tay told a waiter that people who said Kid A is their favorite Radiohead album were trying too hard to be cool
I was rockin w this
4.5!!
Meh 1.8
I broke this up over way too many days but the Flamin’ Groovies are a fun listen
2.7 I do really like Nothing Compares 2 U
3.8 but deserving of the round up on the ranking
Highway to Hell was the saving grace here ~2.6
Very high 4!!!
Pretty sure this album gave me a headache. Major thumbs down
Never forget when U2 hacked everyones iTunes. There are a couple bangers on this album but not my vibe. I’ll be generous with a 2.8 even though my head was still hurting during this album
I really like his flow, the samples are great.
Fun. Wish I spoke French
I liked this i’m going 3.4
I do love the women of country! Not the most exciting but her voice/look are incredible
“So you met a girl who thinks really deep thoughts. What’s so amazing about really deep thoughts?” This cracked me UP. The majority of this album is not for me but a couple songs were more interesting so i’ll give a 2 (Leather/Happy Phantom)
Que bendición este álbum!!!
Mmmmmm yummers!!! Chef’s kiss
I feel like these are the versions of these xmas songs I know and hold near and dear to my heart. Thanks for the great gift Phil!!
Thought there would be way more screaming. This album is VERY long and not my deal but Movin on up is a hit….
This was fine. 2.8
Evan said what needed to be said. Hard to separate the art from the artist but sigh….Bound 2…..blood on the leaves….hold my liquor :/
Don’t be surprised if you hear me using “bollocks” in my day to day vernacular
Meh
I wasn’t expecting to like this as much as I did okurrrrr
Alright i’m going to try my best to get through a couple more songs…no chance I listen to 2 hours of this. Not a fan
Wonder what is behind that zipper
3.8 but close to 4 so there ya go
I’m between 2 and 3 but leaning 2. Idk I was kinda bored by this
I am gonna go ahead and say I think Bob Dylan’s voice is an acquired taste and I am trying to acquire it. I do love his music so much. And Charley Crockett is a huge fan so….
TV Dinners singlehandedly put this album below 3 for me. There are a couple hits but meh otherwise. 2.8 but rounding to 3 because this ranking system sucks
OOOO HE STEALIN. Hadn’t listened to this before but I enjoyed it and would like to go somewhere in the range of 3.5-3.7
Like 3.4/3.5. There are obviously hits on this I did feel a couple songs were just alright
Don’t u want me baaaabaaaaaayyyyy is only noteworthy song here
It’s not poorly done whatsoever just not my fave
WOOOOOO
3.4/3.5 range. Nice
This is a really tight album
I accidentally started the album then got distracted and ended up listening all the way through. Not something I’d listen to otherwise but it was good background music for my trance for sure. If I liked the genre I feel like I’d really like this
That first song somehow managed to keep my attention for the whole 18 min. Gold star!!! I’d go like 3.8 if I could
Hmmm I feel like after 3 songs I got the idea of the entire album. Not bad but got a bit boring. I feel like it’s a 2.5 but leaving 2
This was fine it kinda made me feel like I went too harsh on the Pet Shop Boys album cause I think that one was more fun for me. 2.8
I respect it for the impact it has had
I LIKED THIS
High 3 but Passin Me By gets it to a 4. Crazy to think we haven’t had any Tribe yet…..
Loving this dark album cover. This is like their bad boy era…I like the Beach Boys okay!!!
RIP to missing the Wilco pop-up show at Carol’s. Damn you marathon!!!!
I was really surprised by this. Had no clue what to expect. I gotta imagine there was some inspo back and forth between Dr. Octagon and MF DOOM? Maybe not but anyway i’d go 3.4
I think this was all very well done. Would I necessarily go back and listen to this? No but it’s super theatrical and felt very cinematic. I respect it a lot
This was fine
Want to go 1.5 can’t decide if it’s leaning 1 or 2. Ugh the big hit wasn’t bad
Makes me wish it was raining and I was curled up with a good book
David Bowie is so cool
Chance the Rapper AND Beyonce samples from this one. So good.
Pretty freakin cool we got to see her perform at Red Rocks #humblebrag
3.4
Yessssss
A bit too experimental for me but I can definitely appreciate this. He released this after falling out of a window at a party and paralyzing himself from the waist down…puts the darkness into perspective. 3.4
5 through and through. Need this OG print on vinyl ASAP
Jumpin
Holy S$!@ this album EVERY TIME!! I wish we had a 6th star we could give to the albums that feel extra special
This entire album is completely unhinged….but I liked it
Good but i’m not sure I can really differentiate it from the other album? That could be on me though. 3.6 (rounding to 4)
Simon & Garfunky
I hadn’t listened to any Beck outside of E-Pro. 3.7
Idk if I’m just in a bad mood but I…did not like this. It’s fine but I felt unimpressed throughout. Good writing I guess. I’ll go 2.4
This was giving me major Spinetta (Pescado Rabioso-Artaud specifically)/Sui Generis (the album Vida) vibes. I highly recommend both of those albums but really enjoyed this!!!
Like a 2.8
Am I being too generous with my 5’s? Probably.
All Daft Punk gets a 5 from me
I am not sure I feel about the lead’s voice. It was okay
This album is awesome. So fun so happy it’s now on Spotify too
I give this a very high 4. I just happen to like 19 a little bit more.
A high 3
This is tied for me as one of his best albums
Like a 3.6 I feel like Willie has better works
I listen to this once every couple weeks. Easy 5
I....really liked this. I've heard the big hits a ton and they are still so fun to hear. Great to put on and bust out massive amounts of work
