Popular Reviews

Palo Congo by Sabu

Just the right amount of bongos

Green River by Creedence Clearwater Revival

If there was a law that (1) bars can only play music by one select musical artist, and (2) each year one person gets randomly selected to choose the artist, and it was my year, I'd pick CCR.

Very by Pet Shop Boys

No phrase provokes such dread and revulsion as "British synth-pop duo"

If there was a law that (1) bars can only play music by one select musical artist, and (2) each year one person gets randomly selected to choose the artist, and it was my year, I'd pick CCR.

The Suburbs by Arcade Fire

Rubber Soul by Beatles
Mar 03 2025

Pretty pretty pretty good

Synchronicity by The Police
Mar 11 2025

Synchronicity 2 is a great song. The rest of this album is pretty mediocre.

Very by Pet Shop Boys
Mar 13 2025

No phrase provokes such dread and revulsion as "British synth-pop duo"

Bossanova by Pixies
Mar 14 2025

Not awe-inspiring like Doolittle and Surfer Rosa but still a great listen

Live At The Regal by B.B. King
Mar 18 2025

I like how the live recording creates a sense of being there. It sounds fun.

Roots by Sepultura
Mar 19 2025

Death metal is like a very hot Jacuzzi — unpleasant at first but tolerable and even pleasant once you get accustomed to it. Still, for me, this genre has a low ceiling. I did like how it was rhythmic and spooky, but I wouldn't seem it out.

Born To Run by Bruce Springsteen
Mar 21 2025

Couple of great songs on a solid album

Neon Bible by Arcade Fire
Mar 31 2025

Set aside all the orchestration and you have some great songwriting. A lot of these would work with just an acoustic guitar.

Dookie by Green Day
Apr 01 2025

Anything less than 5 would be a betrayal of my 7-year-old self

Electric Warrior by T. Rex
Apr 02 2025

Really great album that I had never heard before.

Bryter Layter by Nick Drake
Apr 15 2025

Liked this more than later stuff I've heard. Some songs sound like Belle and Sebastian

Apr 22 2025

Some good bops

Physical Graffiti by Led Zeppelin
Apr 23 2025

Great band but nowhere near their strongest collection of songs

At San Quentin by Johnny Cash
May 12 2025

Pure personality and attitude and charisma

Hot Shots II by The Beta Band
May 16 2025

It's not "I will now sell five copies of Hot Shots 2 by the Beta Band."

Psychocandy by The Jesus And Mary Chain
May 22 2025

Doom, doom doom chick

Blackstar by David Bowie
May 26 2025

Too much for this old chunk of coal.

Crocodiles by Echo And The Bunnymen
May 30 2025

It's not bad, but my main feeling is gratitude that Oasis eventually came along and put an end to the brooding 80s.

London Calling by The Clash
Jun 02 2025

One of my all time favorites. But I have to give it 4 because it's needlessly long and the back half is not as good. If this ended at Clampdown it'd be a perfect album.

Moon Safari by Air
Jun 03 2025

An unexpected delight.

16 Lovers Lane by The Go-Betweens
Jun 05 2025

Don't see what the fuss is about

The Who Sell Out by The Who
Jun 12 2025

Only listened to the beginning before I had to go but I wasn't too cheesed

The Beach Boys Today! by The Beach Boys
Jun 13 2025

It's a high wire act: Highly susceptible to self-parody, but when it works, it's sublime. True of the Beach Boys more than virtually any other band.

Songs From The Big Chair by Tears For Fears
Jun 16 2025

I listened to the first song and thought it was lame and realized that was supposedly their big hit so I just threw in the towel right then and there.

Goo by Sonic Youth
Jun 27 2025
Rumours by Fleetwood Mac
Jul 01 2025
Fromohio by fIREHOSE
Jul 11 2025

A band that would go on to influence all of 90s culture, from the alt-rock airwaves to the Seinfeld theme song.

Jul 21 2025

I once met a man from Sweden who claimed America has no culture. Okay Sven, show me the Swedish Johnny Cash.

Here Are the Sonics by The Sonics
Aug 22 2025

These songs are great whether you record them in a garage or at Hitsville U.S.A., but I'm more into the Motown versions.

One World by John Martyn
Aug 27 2025

It's competent enough, but it troubles my ears. And I docked it an extra star because its inclusion on this list suggests it influenced all the other dickheads who try to sound like this.

Loveless by My Bloody Valentine
Sep 11 2025

Beautiful

Illinois by Sufjan Stevens
Sep 18 2025
What's Going On by Marvin Gaye

Manassas by Stephen Stills
Oct 30 2025

This was absolutely fine

Disintegration by The Cure
Nov 18 2025

Overcomes a few sluggish parts and when it's good it's really good. Pictures Of You is especially great.

Safe As Milk by Captain Beefheart & His Magic Band
Nov 19 2025
Clandestino by Manu Chao
Jan 22 2026

Super chill backpacker music noice
