It was alright. Some tracks were good, others forgettable. Nice enough to listen to in the background and relax.
Initially, it caught me off guard, but I enjoyed it more with repeatable listening.
Love it! Got me humming and singing.
A lot going on but still enjoyable.
Not bad for being their first debut album. I liked it.
I listened this in remaster, but I think I'll still give this 5 stars if I listen to the original.
I am giving it a 2 because of the bonus tracks. Without them, it would have been 1 star. The beginning was not great but it picked up a little at the end. It's not an album I will visit again, but it doesn't mean that I won't give the band another try with a different album.
So many repeated songs. 😮💨
Queen is one of my favorite bands of all time. Of course I will give it 5 stars.
I did not expect this to be dark for country music, but I kind of like it. 😅 It was something different for once.
I can see why people love this album. I've listened to Adele's songs before, but not a whole album from start to finish. I'll give this a 4 because there were two or three songs that I didn't care for.
I did struggle with this one. The first time I listened at work it was uninteresting. I had to play it a second time at home with no distractions, and it was a little better. Not an album I would play often.
I didn't understand a word, but it got me humming.
There is no denying that Dre is a great producer. The beats were so good. The writing was not the best and was easily forgettable. Also, I didn't understand the significance of the sketches. I thought it was random and didn't fit in. Overall, it was ok. I'm sure someone who listened to the album when it first came out in 1992 is able to appreciate it more.
Boring. I was falling asleep. I liked There Is a Kingdom though.
This man is not well-liked. lol
I'm setting aside the kind of person he is, and rate solely the album. It gets a 3 stars. There were a few songs that I was tuning out, and the ones that I did enjoy felt average to me.
I can tell that I enjoyed this album. It went by so quick. For once I was listening to something that wasn't dragging on for too long.
Soothing. It's nothing groundbreaking, but I can listen to this and relax/chill in my room.
I listened to this album so many times.
Whoever told him to have his first live concert at a prison and let him sing songs about murder in front of all these prisoners is a genius. Ngl the whole concept was funny to me. The entire album was so engaging. Those prisoners were having a blast. lol
This kind of music is usually hit or miss. I don't listen to it very often, but I can appreciate the direction it is taking. The same is true of this album. It's not David's best work but good nonetheless.
It caught me off guard. I did not expect it to sound so theatre, but I kind of like it.
It's wasn't bad but there are other better albums. It's not the one I will recommend to people that are interested in listening to his music.
I don't know what to say about this album. I had to listen to it three times, but even then I'm still confused. 😂 I'll give it a 3 since I didn't hate it.
Fuck you, I won't do what you tell me!
I remember last year someone recommended this album, and I liked it.
I still like it even now.
I liked this one more than the Kid A album.
I can't believe it took me this long to listen to Amy Winehouse.
There is no way I will give it below 5 stars. 🤩
Way better than the Sensual World.
It arrived at a sad time in my life. It made me feel better.
I was surprised that I listened to it all the way to the end without making a fuss.
I liked the music, but the album was too long. At disc 2, I was starting to zone out. I prefer albums around 45 minutes to 1 hr running time. I can make an exception for specific artists and genres, but I like them short overall. Still, that won't affect the rating that I am giving, which is 4 stars.
I don't understand Bob Dylan at all. Maybe I need more time to comprehend his music. The last album I listened to was Blood on the Tracks, and I don't remember why I gave it 4 stars. I probably was in a good mood that day if I rated it that high. lol
Highway 61 Revisited wasn't bad, but it wasn't amazing either. I didn't feel anything. I will say that he plays the guitar and harmonica very well, but the lyrics are forgettable. I'm going to give it a 3. There's something there that I'm not noticing. I may have to revisit his work later on. Hopefully, I'll run into another album of his.
I was able to listen to only 8 songs. This album is not available on Spotify or any of the other music streaming platforms. Someone made a small playlist on YouTube, and it is the one I picked to listen to. So, my review score will be based on those 8 songs.
I love Metal music what can I say. 🤷
I didn't think that I would enjoy this album. I understood a little bit. I will use this to practice my French.
C'mon it's Michael Jackson y'all. Thrilleeeeer! 🧟
The album playlist is short, but why are the songs length long???? The first one being 18 mins. 😭
It is different from the other albums I've listened to so far. It's not bad, but I need time to process it more. So, in the meantime, I'll give it 3 stars and save it in my library.
This was actually pretty good. 🤩
I was reading Parsons bio and I can't believe he died so young. He had so much potential. It's not my type of music, but there were some songs that I did liked, one of them being "Love Hurts".
I wasn't vibing with this at work, but I played it a second time as I headed home. It started raining and was getting cloudy, and because of it, I was vibing with the music. Maybe it had something to do with the mood, how certain music sounds better depending on your environment.
Sometimes Spotify puts itself on a loop without my permission, so I ended up listening to this 4 times. I am not complaining. I liked it. Also, someone said the singer sounds like Kate Bush, and now I can't get that out of my head. 😂
I'm giving this a 3. I was going to give it a 2, but there were some tracks that I liked. The problem is that I tuned out halfway through the album twice.
I listened to this five times, and I still can't remember anything. I like the album cover, though.
It's all over the place. And a pirate song? 😂
I was confused on my first listen, but there are some catchy songs.
I've only liked two songs from here: "Don't Panic" and "Yellow". The other songs were alright to me. Coldplay is one of those bands I struggle to get into. I am not saying they are bad, but it's not for me. I usually like one or two songs on their albums.
What the hell is this??? The first time, I was so confused. Sounded like she was having an exorcist. 🤣
I had to play this a couple of times. This is so unique. I enjoyed this one. Call me crazy, but I am giving it five stars. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I grew up listening to this type of music, so I don't hate it like others do. I appreciate that it was something different this time.
Not my favorite album of them, but I love the band.
It was alright. I guess I was expecting more. Still, I didn't hate it.
Nobody in my inner circle (besides me) likes punk music. 😂 And I get it. It's not the most appealing compared to other genres. They would've immediately hated this album, but I like to keep an open mind. The only song I did not like was the first track, "Theme". Everything else was fine. I don't know why they have two repetitive songs next to each other. I preferred track 3 with the music notes in it. My two overall favorites are "Annalisa" and "Public Image". I will give it a four.
PS. Ironically, I got this album the same month the new Pope Leo XIV was announced. 🤣
This is so 80s, and I like it. I'm a '90s kid, but I remember my mom playing "Girls Just Want to Have Fun" every time she would clean the house. It's her favorite song even to this day. It's a pretty good album.
I want to hear more from them.
I said it in a previous review: Punk music is either a hit or a miss. Some people aren't going to like it, and that's fine. I like this album. It set the tone for me.
It's not bad, although I prefer their other album, "Fear of Music." Still, I will give it the same grade as the other album.
It sounds similar to Radiohead and Coldplay which it's not bad, but I don't care for it in the end. Its not the type of music I will replay often.
I listened to this at work twice and was going to give it three stars. Then, after work, it was raining, and I played this again for the third time. For some reason, I liked it. I want to say the rain changed the mood. I swear bands like The National, Radiohead, Coldplay, and Elbow sound better in the rain. I don't know because without it, I wouldn't care about either of them. I'll give it four stars.
I will give it a solid C. Nothing special, but it still has a couple of good songs.
I have not seen the movie, but I may now after listening to this.
The version of the album I listened to was sooo looooong. The deluxe edition includes the live performances. 2h 33 min!!! 😩
They are lucky that I like them enough to listen to it all. 😂
A decent album, but it's too long.
Like the music, his voice not so much.
This is a great album to have chilling in the background.
The work at my job was hectic, and this helped me a great deal.
It reminds me a video game/movie sci fi soundtrack, which is good for me.
I've never heard of this album before; I kind of like it. It's a little different from what they usually sing.
I've listened to this so many times I've lost count. Pretty good.
Ngl. I was falling asleep.
It's ok. I noticed that I can only enjoy this kind of genre when it's raining or in a quiet environment; otherwise, I start to tune out.
2005 Remaster version. I'm not a fan of the skits. Still a good album nonetheless.
This album was a little better than the last one from him, "This Year's Model" (1978).
It wasn't bad. I was listening to this while chilling in the car.
One of my favorite albums from Prince.
There are some classics in there.
I remember liking this in high school. Still do, but not as much.
I'm only given it a four.
This doesn't have a repeat value.
I've never had a problem of listening to Taylor Swift. Not someone I'll go out of the way to listen to. The music she makes are ok. The song I recognize in this album is gold rush.
First time listening to her. 4 stars.
I can't believe I got this album the day after Ozzy Osbourne passing. Rest in peace Prince of Darkness . 😭
This was so calm. I needed it so much.
*sigh. Why is it so hard for me to get into folk music? I mean, it wasn't bad, but still....
The music was good. The lyrics, though... They are not memorable. Still, not bad.
I wasn't convinced at first. But the more I replay it, the more I started to like it. It is an album that requires relisten a few times.
I have the vinyl. I love this album.
I know this came first, but this album reminds me a little of MF Doom. The production style is similar. The lyrics have interesting wordplay and are worth reexamining. The only issue I have is the way Kool Keith raps. He raps with no energy at all. I don't know if that's his style, but it took me time to get used to.
Ngl. There are some nice songs here. Plus, it's short and doesn't drag on.
I've never heard of this band, but I liked what I heard. I'll put it on my radar the next time I run into them again but with a different album.
It started slow, but picked up half way through.
I'm sure there are better albums of his, but this one was pretty good as well.
I like Smashing Pumpkins, but two hours is too long for me. I had to take a break between Disc 1 and 2. They have some good songs here, so I will give them a 4.
I can see what people mean that this sounds better while your stone or drinking because I was kind of getting bored half way through.
It's different from the other albums I have heard so far.
I liked it till Love Ghetto after that I wasn't feeling the music or lyrics.
It's not bad. If I had more time, I think I could appreciate it more. Just like Coldplay and Radiohead, etc.
I have mixed feelings, but it's not awful.
I was confused. I thought this album was from a musical based on the lyrics and tone of the music. Nope. It's a style they went for. lol
I don't hate it. It's an interesting choice.
I've only listened to this once, but it's enough to convince me I like it.
Folk music is a hit or miss with me. This one hit the right spot.
So, two Beastie Boys albums. Back-to-Back. I just heard their "Licensed To Ill" last night. They are trying to tell me something. 😂
Like the previous album, I like the production, but not the lyrics. Some are fine, others feel outdated. Does that mean I will never hear of them again? No. They have some good songs there, and I will not mind hearing them again.
Pretty good. I can listen to this on repeat and relax.
An album I enjoyed out of the week.
Now I need coffee with this.
Three jazz albums in a row, but I ain't complaining.
I'm surprised that I enjoyed it more than I should.
At least the band isn't misleading. It has bongos. I thought the album was alright. I can see myself listening to this again in a more relaxed environment.
I didn't enjoy it as much as I should.
