Great stuff, influenced half of what I listen to. Iconic opener.
Great bunch of lads
Never heard of this album but it's not bad
Good fun
Have heard the odd song over the years but I never realised they were this good
Not their best album but still good
Favourite Pavement album and probably one of my favourite albums ever
This is really good, Boards of Canada of the 70s
A band I've always meant to listen to, sounds quite similar to some stuff I like a lot but none of it is as memorable as I'd like it to be
Wall to wall bangers
Great production, prefer The Low End Theory but this isn't far behind
Not as good as Señor Burns
Solid
Was never that fussed about Black Keys, but everything Danger Mouse produces sounds lovely
Good lad
80s REM is the best, prefer some of the albums before this but this is still a good one
Don't know the rest of their stuff very well but I've always liked this one
Not for me
One of my go-to albums whenever I have a wee jazz phase. Very satisfying when that great bassline finally comes in. Way better than Kind of Blue.
Not for me
Not bad, like listening to proto-Ty Segall. Gets a bit samey though.
Good stuff
Enjoyed more than I expected to
Solid
Great stuff, nice and weird. First two PiL albums are far more interesting than the Sex Pistols.
Another post-punk classic
V good album
Great craic
Back to the post punk albums. Shot by Both Sides is a banger
Some great basslines
Always heard great things about this album, and it was decent but not as good as I was expecting. Enjoyed Albuquerque. Not as good as On the Beach.
Not for me, but I didn't mind the Dylan cover
Lebowski was right
Never got round to listening to Sugar before but enjoyed this a lot, great guitar tones
Great, one of their best
His best songs are great but there always a few that don't do it for me
Great
Never really got round to listening to her properly before but this is class
Paper Planes is still a banger
I'm more into his weird Berlin era but this one's solid as well
Fantastic
Not my favourite Sonic Youth album but it's up there
Enjoyed the first song but lost interest after that
Was my favourite album when I was 12, very nostalgic
Fine, goes on a bit.
Great
Bad band
Fantastic. Almost a 5 but always think Don Amon drags on a bit
3 and a half, solid record.
Another 3 and a half
A bit dull but nice enough
Some decent tunes but goes on a bit
Great bunch of lads
Some nice tunes on here but they're much better after they discover drugs
Pyramids is great
V good
Absolutely not for me
It's ok but a bit boring and Clapton's a racist.
Good stuff, a band I always mean to listen to more
Couple of decent tunes but mostly not for me
Great lad
Decent
Hit and miss and a bit long but a few good songs. Nirvana definitely picked the best ones to cover.
Decent
Led Zeppelin 3 out of Led Zeppelin 5
Never listened to this one beyond the singles before. Not their best album but pretty good.
V good
Quite a 3/5 band generally
Full of bangers
Not my favourite by them and a bit long but it's good stuff
Great Christmas album, banging production. Shame he's a murderer.
The difference some drugs make
Loved this at the time but can only handle it in small doses these days
Long but good, production is great
Didn't hate it like I expected to, a lot more soft arpeggios than I expected, still not really for me though.
Not for me, even the title is annoying
Never listened to this one beyond the singles before. Always preferred their gloomy post-Joy Division period but really enjoyed this
I only know their Iron & Wine collaborations but this is very good
Great, love the primitive synths
Great
Great
Never listened to this one before, not my favourite by them but some good dance bangers
Solid, just a bit long
Great. Big uni flashbacks.
It's fine, 2.5
Loved it at the time, probably prefer most of their other albums now but this still holds up
Great, their best album
Excellent
Couple of great tunes but a lot of samey ones
Not every track's a winner but the bangers are bangers
Long but good
V good
Good fun
V good, Berlin Bowie is the best Bowie. Not quite as good as Low though.
Great, one of his best
Great 60s weirdness, like a prototype for Devo
Gary music. No thanks.
Decent, always thought I'd like them more cos of the Dylan connection but they're not bad
This was a bit too long but very good
Brilliant. The synths on Mass Production are mind bending
Good career sign off
Haven't listened to this as much as the first two albums for some reason. Great bunch of lads.
Superb
Not for me
Not as interesting as some of his later stuff but some good bops
A lot weirder than anything I've heard by him before (in a good way)
Great bunch of lads
His name comes up a lot in Dylan biographies but not sure I'd ever heard his music before. Enjoyed.
Still v good
Forgot these guys existed
My boys
Not as good as Hot Snakes or Drive Like Jehu but still good
Never been that fussed by his more bombastic stuff but always enjoyed this one
Don't think I'd listened to this one before, v good
Hadn't heard this in a while. Never really got into their other albums but there's a lot of good stuff on this.
His best album
Pretty good
Great
Heard the new album but hadn't heard much old stuff, pretty good
Good but not as good as the first two albums, they need the John Cale weirdness. Rounded up from 3.5
Only really know the best ofs/singles and a couple of the recent albums but some banging album tracks on here. Great closer.
Loved it at the time, less enthusiastic now but still a few good tunes and their last half decent album before they went to shit.
Great
Not as good as the weird stuff but obviously great
Great. Not my favourite of their original run but I'm giving it a 5 anyway.
Fantastic
Like their first EP and their big singles but don't think I'd listened to this album before. Enjoyed.
One of my go to albums when I'm in a jazzy mood. Great.
Still some good tunes and some less good tunes
Always tried to like them but have always found the vocals a bit shit
Great
Always meant to listen to Jeff's dad. Pretty good. 3.5
Great
Great
Great album
It's grand
V good
Strong late career comeback
One of the best albums ever
Great
First time I've thought about Justice in years
Decent
Class
Even if he's a bit of a knob these days this is still great
Hit and miss but some classics
Pretty good, much better than Pearl Jam
Great bunch of lads
Hadn't heard this one, sounds sort of halfway between the early surf tunes and the big Pet Sounds production. Good stuff.
All timer
Great
Not bad but VERY LONG
Decent
Decent, I only recognised Victoria from this one
Dated production but good songs, though I still prefer him with an acoustic guitar
Always meant to check them out properly, good stuff
One point off for the Zionism
Good though a bit samey, glad he moved onto Fugazi instead
Think it's my favourite by them as well, probably their messiest and least focused album but love the variation and it's full of tunes
Excellent
Great motorik jams
Pretty good
Lovely stuff
Lovely
Great stuff from before they went fully mad
Great
A Ghost is Born is better but still great
Supoib
Decent
Always meant to check them out properly, pretty good
Didn't mind it, some nice weirdness
