Fly Or Die by N.E.R.D
Sep 26 2025

Fuses a lot of styles, funky bass lines, classic Pharrell guitar hooks, seen later in Daft Punks last album. It does remind me of how every song sounded in the early 2000s.

Sea Change by Beck
Sep 28 2025

Paper tiger has Radiohead vibes with the dramatic violins Lonesome tears outro was cool in a kind of drifting in space way. It's a very mellow album with some interesting sections in the tracks. I particularly enjoyed the textures and production on Sunday Sun

A Hard Day's Night by Beatles
Sep 29 2025

Feels more considered song writing, McCartney and Lennon maturing as writers

Deja Vu by Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young
Oct 01 2025
Funeral by Arcade Fire
Oct 04 2025

The textures and genre blending on this album are so refreshing and still sounds great 20 years later Rebellion (Lies) is incredible as a piece of song writing

Sail Away by Randy Newman
Oct 08 2025

Just sounds like Toy Story

Paranoid by Black Sabbath
Oct 11 2025

I knew this was a classic album but I've never listened to it. Wow. Every song is either a great 4 minute rock song or has an outro if pure self indulgence

Truth And Soul by Fishbone
Oct 15 2025

Really interesting blend of styles, with ska, 80s glam rock and a dash of early 90s Manchester bands

Ray Of Light by Madonna
Oct 16 2025

Some great songs and William Orbit's production shines through, but there are some filler tracks on here that are very forgettable. I remembered this album being better!

Slanted And Enchanted by Pavement
Oct 17 2025

Never heard this before. Can see so much modern music influenced by this style of grunge with riffs and talking vocal

Dust by Screaming Trees
Oct 20 2025

Has vibes of a poor man's queen's of the stone age. The vocal isn't particularly strong. Not sure why it's on this list

Oct 30 2025

The use of samples set a new precedent for dance music, and brought it to the masses. This creates a depth to the tracks that make them super interesting to listen to!

Scum by Napalm Death
Nov 19 2025
16 Lovers Lane by The Go-Betweens
Nov 20 2025

I really like this, although have never heard of the band! Just really good indie from the late 80s!

Damaged by Black Flag
Nov 21 2025
Talking Heads 77 by Talking Heads
Nov 22 2025

Enjoying this very British indie sound! The threads through to the post punk of early 2000s is easy to spot

Lady Soul by Aretha Franklin
Nov 24 2025

Absolutely outstanding album,

You Want It Darker by Leonard Cohen
Jan 17 2026

Feels like a reflection on Christianity and how it's fallen from popular culture. Very moody and all about his raspy vocal

It's a classic with some legendary songs on it but has it aged well?

Broken English by Marianne Faithfull
Mar 31 2026

Never listened before but enjoying the blend somewhere between Blondie and Pink Floyd

Floodland by Sisters Of Mercy
Apr 01 2026

Surprised to find I kind of liked this, like an 80s glam rock version of Franz Ferdinand

Kid A by Radiohead
Apr 02 2026

One of my desert island discs. Unparalleled

Parallel Lines by Blondie
Apr 04 2026

Pop music doesn't get much better than this

Vento De Maio by Elis Regina
Apr 22 2026

I've never properly listened to foreign language music like this before. The production is amazing and the atmosphere created is awesome!

Dub Housing by Pere Ubu
Apr 23 2026

Quite chaotic, bass driven punk. Struggling to get affinity with it

Lots of influence from Americana r&b and rock n roll

Dookie by Green Day
Apr 27 2026

Apr 30 2026

Very self indulgent 9 minute rock epics... But I enjoyed it!

May 14 2026

I've not listened to this before, although aware. The soundscapes created have real depth and it feels more relatable than Gorillaz

Enjoyed this but it is a long album!

I've always been pretty ambivalent about REM but this is a decent record

Nevermind by Nirvana
Jun 15 2026

No-one is giving this anything other than 5 are they!?

Jun 19 2026

Some nice beats, surprised I've never heard of this as it's as good as some of the other hip hop acts of the time

Superunknown by Soundgarden

Such an awesome album! Full of great songs and that vocal is unparalleled

Suede by Suede
Jun 24 2026

Jun 29 2026
Led Zeppelin II by Led Zeppelin
Jul 03 2026

Groundbreaking production, so alive and visceral. Iconic.

Jul 06 2026

Clearly a massive influence on bands like Led Zeppelin

Juju by Siouxsie And The Banshees
Jul 07 2026
The Score by Fugees
Jul 14 2026

If there was a 3.5 I'd give it that. Some great tracks and harmonies but some tracks just pass me by

The Man Who by Travis
Jul 15 2026

This is one of the early albums I loved when getting into music but I can see why people think it's dreary. But then I'm a Radiohead fan so...

Bad by Michael Jackson
Jul 16 2026
Axis: Bold As Love by Jimi Hendrix
Jul 17 2026

Loving the shifting soundscape from left to right. This was probably done to death after Jimi but it sounds original here

Ágætis Byrjun by Sigur Rós
Aug 05 2026

Ethereal, feel like I'm on a voyage across the oceans

Aug 06 2026

Defining sounds of west coast hip hop, much more chilled than the east coast

The Stranger by Billy Joel
Aug 10 2026

Some great songs on here from a polished performer.

Iron Maiden by Iron Maiden
Aug 11 2026

I've never explored iron maiden's music, and when clicking this to listen to I wasn't aware it was their debut. It sounds different to what I've heard before on the radio etc. possibly because the vocalist is different. It's clearly a founding inspiration for many 70s/ 80s metal bands like GnR and Judas Priest. For 1968 this is super progressive and innovative! I just don't like metal particularly.

Bookends by Simon & Garfunkel
Aug 12 2026

This album should have stopped at track 7 and not bothered with the tracks and covers thereafter. I went in with preconceived ideas of what this will sound like - dull lyrics and boring folk guitar. But it's actually interesting to listen to and the inclusion of moog synth early on got my attention, adding depth to acoustic ramblings
