A little slow, but really did shape a generation of music.

Too much angry teenage angst for my taste

This album was so boring, every song was either noise or soulless.

Great album, a little too long

This album was painful. Jarring noise more apt to nails on a chalkboard than music.

Some albums are better than others…

Pros: short, 4/10 (excluding bookends theme/reprise) are amazing songs… Cons: the rest seems like a mishmash of noises and half baked ideas. This was a tough one to rate.

This album feels so generic.. every song seems the same.

This album does not need to be listened to. It is very technically well played music, but it is boring and soulless. Not sure why this is on the list other than a strong bias in the list towards 70s rock.

This album has not aged as well as I remember it, but it’s like an old friend you’ve grown apart with.

Not for me.. too many noises to actually enjoy

Steely Dan sounds like a parody of dad rock; and not even a good one! Lyrics are just cliches and complaining with a set of power chords being repeated. I really don’t get it.

This album would have been so much better if it was about 25 minutes shorter

Generally disliked this, but at some points it did interesting things. It definitely tried hard… also need to push kid rock to the bottom.

They really like trains.

Dolly 💔

Struggled a lot with this one. You can hear how influential it is, and see it shifting genres and driving something in the music following it… but I can’t listen to 12 minute songs straight of 16 tracks layered on each other
