This was cheesy as hell. The singing was terrible and all of the drums sounds are artificial from a sampler. I feel like I could have made this album in Electronic Music class with Mr. T in high school.

Big dracula vibes. I had no desire to listen to this more than was completely necessary. Again, I don't doubt any artistic qualities the album has, but it's a no from me.

Nope

I don't recall this band or their music, but because I was a teen and in my early 20s in the 80s, this style is very familiar, so there's a slight sense of nostalgia in the sound for me. Musically, though, I wasn't that interested in this album.

I hate Depeche Mode and by the transitive property, this too. Glum synthesizer music with no soul (and perhaps no actual musicians either). Never need to hear this again.

Yet another album that might (emphasis on might) been of some interest to someone back in the day, but sounds way outdated and irrelevant these days.

The whole dark wave/goth rock genre is perhaps another genre that is overly represented on this list. This is not for me, and honestly is just kind of straight up bad. Nothing very redeeming about it.

I’m a sucker for the 80s glam rock stuff, but didn’t get much of a chance to listen to this album. How good did it seem from what I heard? 6/10. How likely am I to seek it out again? 3/10.

ALL OF THE MOST DIRE, WORST THINGS ABOUT THE 80'S ARE RIGHT HERE. CHEESY KEYS, DREADFUL TUNELESS TALK-SINGING, DRUM MACHINE BEATS, STYLE OVER SUBSTANCE. FUCKING AWFUL. GOTH DICKHEADS. Can't give 0, so it's a kicking-and-screaming 1 star.

For people who tell everyone Robert Pattinson is their favorite Batman, but really prefer Ben Affleck if they're being honest with themselves. If you feel like 1959, that might suggest you're a closet racist.

If you're into quintessential 80's drums and weird choir backed rock you may like it.

I don't believe goth industrial etc is that important. 1001 seems to insist that it is, and that we understand its pioneers (Bauhaus), prophets (Nick Cave) and bowel movements (Sisters of Mercy). D
