Paris 1919
John CaleMeh… sounds like badly jerked-over Beatles tunes, but less interesting.
Meh… sounds like badly jerked-over Beatles tunes, but less interesting.
I really can't stand this person's voice. The songs are pretty and tender, but the voice ruins it for me.
I love this album! So good, and Ry Cooder's musical contributions don't stick out.
I remember listening to these songs on the radio late at night when Nick Cave was on some radio program when I was a teenager. I remember keeping the radio very quiet because I was supposed to be sleeping and these songs were not rated PG :-)
UGH, I cannot stand Courtney Love's voice. I appreciate the musicality and feel of it, but I just can't take her voice at all.
A classic! I have definitely heard this album / all these songs before. Dylan as a singer/performer is not my personal favorite, but I think he's an excellent songwriter and I can appreciate all these songs.
Before I heard Fela Kuti, I heard Femi Kuti (his son). A co-worker then introduced me to Fela. I do really enjoy west African music, and this is classic.
Yeah, this album is really trippy for 1971... feels like it's made a lot later than it actually is. Also, for some reason, I expected this to be more like the later P-Funk stuff.
The singer reminds me so much of Peter Gabriel, but the whole sound is so much different. This was an enjoyable listen, but it didn't blow me away or anything.
This is pretty great! Haven't heard this album before. I'm hit or miss on whether I like New Wave stuff. I did like this one. Was this before or after Blue Monday? I don't know.
I love this album. It's intoxicating (pun intended) and delightfully weird.
Man, two days in a row with absolute bangers. This is a great album... love the beats... I don't think she's the very best rapper ever, but still very creative, and the album is a good holistic listen.
Wow, this goes hard. Not my favorite, but harder than I thought for 1970.
This is a good album if this is your jam. Interesting the connection to Huey Lewis!
I love this album! So good, and Ry Cooder's musical contributions don't stick out.
This is good if you're in the mood. I'm not usually in the mood.
meh
I just cannot get into it. I don't like his voice, and the songs don't do anything for me.
Yeah, not bad... not quite as straight-up funky as I remember, but some cool things happening on this album. Not my absolute favorite, but still pretty cool.
UGH, I cannot stand Courtney Love's voice. I appreciate the musicality and feel of it, but I just can't take her voice at all.
I would have liked this more when I was, like, 19. Doesn't do much for me now.
Not my personal favorite, but not bad.
If you're into blues, well, this is where it's at. Pretty classic.
Kind of a fun, trippy album from the late 80s! It actually sounds a lot more modern than that to me.
David Bowie has never been my favorite.
Classic album. A good spin.
This doesn't sound as old as it is. I enjoyed this album! I wish I had heard it sooner.
This album is so great! I think I've heard most of these songs individually in other contexts, but had never listened to this entire album before. I can't believe it's as old as it is.
Well, I never really cared much for her voice. But this album sure does make me feel nostalgic.
I don't like modern country, but I do like the older country. This album is pretty great!
I love this album! Weather Report slaps.
Alright. Ok.
Yeah, cool... reminds me of someone, but I can't remember who.
This isn't my personal favorite, but it is cool to think that this is ~40 years old. It doesn't sound that old to me.
This album is awesome! So endearing that she's not perfect, she makes mistakes, etc., yet just rolls with it!
meh... he's not really my genre/milieu...
Interesting. I had never listened to John Martyn before. I'm not a big fan of his voice.
So great! Really representative of the producer and the era and the sound.
I really can't believe this album is 34 years old. It's not my absolute favorite, but I do appreciate it.
This is like a proto-NiN...
An album full of bangers.
Not as good as Breakfast in America... but not bad.
Yep, a classic!
I was never a huge Neil Young fan, but this album is pretty good.
I really like this album. Sounds like so many other influences, yet Steve Winwood is somehow so unique.
A classic. What a great vocal sound and good band mix.
Ok, interesting. This album varies considerably from track to track.
Classic! Somehow I had forgotten MJ did a duet with Paul McCartney.
The Who was never my very favorite band, but this album is full of great energy and compelling performances!
I do like some rap, and I do appreciate this, but it's just a little too crass for my everyday tastes.
I love this album! Wonderful, relaxing, beautiful, haunting.
Great album!
Unpopular opinion: I can't stand Morrissey's voice.
Great album! Great electronic jam.
This album takes me back! I always really liked this album. Many differences and yet a unified whole between the two parts of this album.
Enjoyed it.
It's hard to believe this is from 1972. It sounds very modern. It's also hard to believe I've never heard this before.
It's a classic. Not my all-time personal favorite, but still good.
Alright, ok. Not my jam, but I get it.
I have this album on vinyl... had no idea it was Steve Winwood!
I was never a big fan of Mick Jagger's voice, but there are some great rock tunes on here.
I really enjoyed this one. There was some other John Martyn album earlier in the list that I listened to and didn't care for, but this one was great!
Nice. Soothing. Great classics.
Alright, not bad
I mean, it's nice, but I feel like I'm in an overpriced fusion restaurant.
I like this! It feels like a prototype of so much neo-funk to come.
Great album!
Love it!
Nice! Love jazz, this is classic.
Alright, not bad, not my favorite.
I was not a fan of this. Didn't like his voice. I had to stop about 3/4 of the way through.
Not my favorite... a little self-absorbed.
Fun, funky... great precursor to Travelling Without Moving.
This album takes me back to the 90s! Great nostalgia here.
Alright, cool... no Pet Sounds, but it's classic beach boys sound.
I didn't realized I had heard "Human Behavior" two other places -- one in a jazz cover album, and two, sampled in a Hieroglyphics song. Also, I haven't listened to Bjork much before, but I like her tone and feel a lot.
What a voice, and what a set!
I've never heard of this band, nor heard this album before. I didn't like it at first, but the more I listened, it had a certain energy and feel that really started to grow on me.
Man, this takes me back to the end of college days. Great album.
This takes me back too.
Lovely! Great songs!
A little raunchy, but some good stuff here. Loved "20 Something".
What in the name of Timothy Leary is this? This is the kind of stuff that Monty Python would mock incessantly. Not a big fan.
I always knew I liked her voice, but this album is so great. Great songs, great band, great arrangements.
Yeah, ok. Not bad, good energy, not my favorite.
This album is so great! It really holds up!
Yeah, great band, great sound!
Pretty classic.
Pretty good... Metal is not my very favorite genre, but this is pretty classic.
Classic R&B! Love it.
I mean, I like jazz, a lot, but this is a lot to take in. A little overwhelming.
There's a little more depth to this album that I thought there was. Some good deep tracks beyond the popular ones.
Interesting. Not my favorite, but certainly has a place amongst bands like Cowboy Junkies.
Wasn't quite what I was expecting. Not bad, but not what I was expecting.
Really classic hip hop... love it!
Man this album is long...
Haha, well, I was never a HUGE Bon Jovi fan, but this really does take me right back to 1986ish. So, extra star for you. :-)
What even is this? It's like Talking Heads but with less whimsy?
This is great! Love it!
I really enjoyed this. I had no idea how proficient Keith Jarrett was.
Meh.
I know, like, everyone loves this album, and I get it, in my head, but I just don’t get it in my soul.
Great classic blues-inspired folk!
I mean, it goes on forever and all sounds the same after a while…
Love this. Very beautiful... calming.
Yep, this feels very much set in 1981. :-)
This is a classic album, which I really enjoy.
Some nice drum work on this.
Meh… if I could give this album 2 1/2 stars, I would, but since I can’t, I will give it three because I liked it more than I disliked it.
Pretty classic English blues rock.
I cannot believe this album is 14 years old. It takes me back to a time and place where I think I was happier.
I've never been a _huge_ Neil Young fan... his voice is just too nasal-y and annoying to me.
What a bizarre listening experience. Am I at a musical circus?
This album is really bad. This might be the first one star review I have given.
Not my favorite, but interesting.
It's a bop. A little repetitive, but still fun.
This is a cool album... I like it.
Not bad. Maybe not my favorite, but cool punk-ish.
Am I the only person on earth that really can't stand Joy Division?
I, uh, like this more than I thought I would.
What a delightfully wacky record... loved it.
Not my favorite album or genre, but I appreciate it!
Love this album! Classic, sweet, fun...
Yep, pretty classic. Not my favorite band or album of all time, but fun.
Yeah, alright.
Love it!
I really can't stand this person's voice. The songs are pretty and tender, but the voice ruins it for me.
Pretty classic album!
Not the world's biggest beastie boys fan, but this album is pretty classic.
Meh... overrated.
I feel like I took bad drugs...
I like this. Not my all-time favorite, but enjoyable for its time.
Pretty classic rock. Not bad, not my favorite of all time either.
I like Kanye.
I've never been a huge fan of Dylan's voice, but this album is very compelling!
I love this!
Reminds me of Dan the Automator. I can't believe I had never heard this before!?
A wonderful classic!
Another classic!
I like this album. It definitely feels like it was inspired by and inspired other 90s groups and albums, like U2 and Toad the Wet Sprocket.
Meh.
Beautiful! Her voice isn't my favorite of all time, but it's still nice to listen to.
One of my favorite albums of all time! If I could give it more than 5 stars, I would.
Awesome!
Pretty good. Springsteen wasn't always my favorite, but I appreciate this album.
Yeah, aggressive and strong. I do like SoD, but not a daily listener, for sure.
I like this! Sounds familiar, yet I've never heard it before.
Meh, alright.
Interesting, but not my favorite.
I want to give this album 3.5 stars... since I have to choose, I'm going to give it 3. But I do like it!
Alright
Yeah, pretty good!
Alright, it's a bop. I was nodding my head.
Good groove, a little repetitive.
This takes me right back to freshman year of college.
Pretty classic 1969, but not my favorite.
Yeah, I really like this.
Eh, it's ok. David Bowie has never really been my favorite.
Again with the David Bowie... it's been a lot of David Bowie on this list... I mean, it's ok, but still not my favorite.
Meh.
A classic. Love it.
Enjoyable!
Nope. Not a fan.
I like it! I'd give it, like, 3.5, but I'm going to choose to round down on this one.
Meh, ok.
Not terrible, but not a big fan either.
I like this a lot more than I thought I would!
Yes! Love this!
This album is ahead of its time.
I used to like Pavement a lot more. Maybe I just don't care for this album as much as I thought?
Sounds good!
I've never been a huge Leonard Cohen fan, but I do like this album. Haunting and beautiful in its own way.
This album is kind of all over the place :-)
Kind of a weird album...
meh
Fun bop!
I like this album a lot!
Meh, I mean, it's kind of interesting, but not my favorite.
I feel like I’m watching a Wes Anderson movie…
Joni Mitchell was not my favorite singer, but she's a good songwriter, and there's some really good instrumental performance on this album.
He’s got a great voice, but for whatever reason it was never my very favorite. Some nice arrangements of these ballads, though.
I'd never heard this before. Didn't even know Supergrass had a double album. I liked it.
Alright... not bad... not unenjoyable, but they were never my favorite.
Um, might be my favorite album of all time. Masterful performance, beautiful mixing and mastering, and classic Steely Dan stank.
I mean, it’s ok
This takes me back to high school.
Well, EDM and the like is not my favorite. I didn't really mind this, and would have given it 3 stars, except it became very repetitive, so I'm giving it two.
Obviously, I remember Song 2, but I had never listened to this entire album before. It’s good, I like it, but not as much as Parklife.
Ugh, not great.
I liked Metallica more when I was a teenager. Now it sounds kind of the same most of the time.
I’m usually not very keen on Bob Dylan‘s voice. But this album is really beautiful – the lyrics are great, the songs are well put together, and his voice is pretty tolerable.
I love this album. I listened to them a lot when I was in college, and this toko me back. :-)
I did not enjoy this. It's annoying.
Who doesn't love some Brazilian jazz?
Sure! Not my favorite album or artist of all time, but an easy, enjoyable listen.
Definitely a very cool sound, fun songs. But they do all kind of sound the same after a while, same chord patterns/voicings.
This is not my favorite. Not objectively bad, but I’m not enjoying it. Doesn’t seem particularly innovative or beautiful.
I like it. The more I listen to it, the more I like it.
Pretty classic Elton John. Anthemic, melodic, dramatic.
I do really like Femi Kuti. However, his music does seem to get a bit repetitive after a while.
Nice! Not my cup of tea, a little too bard/eastern/medieval, but still nice.
Definitely a distinctive sound. I enjoyed listening through disc 1, but now that I'm into the deep cuts of disc 2, I think I've had enough Motörhead for one day.
Metal isn't my favorite genre. This album is fine for what it is... a little repetitive, the songs really start to sound the same after a while.
Pretty classic late 90s pop. Not my favorite of all time, but really not bad.
A classic rock album. Above average.
I got through most of this. Most of it is fine, and sounds like the music of the era. A couple songs are great. A couple songs have, in my opinion, really shoddy drum work. Overall, average.
Yep, feels like 2004 again. :-) Enjoyable rock, but not going to blow anyone's minds, most likely.
I found nothing enjoyable, admirable, or redeemable about this. It's just a bunch of noise, talking, yelling, etc.
The longer I listened to it, the less I liked it. At times it felt like I was listening to Spinal Tap. Below average.
What kind of monster doesn’t like Brazilian jazz?
Ok, not bad. Not my favorite.
Pretty classic! Enjoyed it!
Sure, this was fine. I neither terribly loved nor hated it.
Reminds me of Morcheeba, Emiliana Torrini, and other trippy, poppy stuff from the late 90s.
Really classic blues. Good stuff.
I love this old classic country!
Great voice. Decent songs/arrangements. Not my personal favorite, but still well done.
Love this... takes me back to listening to music in the car on the way to school with my friend Dan.
I really enjoyed this. Just as good as any Beatles, Monkees, etc. from this same era.
I made it through most of this. A few more songs isn’t gonna change my opinion. It’s fine for what it is, but doesn’t really do it all that much for me.
This album is all over the place. Sometimes it sounds exactly how I expect Peter Gabriel to sound; other times I think I’m listening to Randy Newman.
I know the theme of sex is basically the point of this album, but it’s really not my favorite thing to listen to, so that’s going to lower my score. The music itself, however, is really great!
I did enjoy this album! I'd never heard it (or this band) before.
Very classic Willy Nelson. Enjoyed this, and enjoyed hearing a couple of good old songs I had forgotten about.
Pretty classic British pop.
Enjoyable.
I enjoyed this more than I thought I would—great voice, great synth sounds, and the bonus duplicate album in French!
A very classic 90s rock album. Almost sounds proto-Foo Fighters now, as I feel like they matured a lot after this.
Meh.
A couple really good songs; the rest – meh.
This album is fine. It’s nice, but doesn’t stick out to me as being particularly amazing.
A classic album! Some great hits, but some forgettable songs as well.
Yep, sounds like The National.
Not my favorite album of all time, but definitely some creative elements here.
I remember when this album was popular about 20 years ago. I’m probably in the minority on this, but I am not a big fan of this guy’s voice. The music, on the other hand, is 🔥.
This is good—I recognize some influences here.
Man, you can say what you want about U2’s repertoire over the years, but this remains one of their best albums.
Great! I prefer "What's the Story (Morning Glory)", but this album is wonderful as well.
Putting my head back in 1956 (67 years ago!), I can imagine how cutting-edge this was at the time. It’s still fun, enjoyable music that is pretty timeless. Above average, for sure!
Sure, I like this as much as I ever like any gangsta rap...
Classic Billy Bragg…
I really enjoyed this! Took me back to the gritty sound of a lot of 90s bands.
Who doesn’t love Dolly Parton?
This might be the perfect album.
Wayne’s voice isn’t my favorite, but it works for this style, and this album and band are still enjoyable.
Honestly, I enjoyed this a lot more than I thought I would.
This album is delightfully all over the place.
Above average classic 90s rock.
I mean, this is a classic album with classic songs. And I like it. But I really can’t stand Dylan’s voice 🤣
This album is fine, it just doesn’t really do much for me.
This album is fine, it just doesn’t really do much for me.
It’s ok. A little sleepy, but not bad.
Interesting, for sure.
This band had such great chemistry together and such a great sound and feel.
This album is great… great sound, well paced, well played. Love it.
Meh, it’s ok. I can hear its influence by and on other 60s rock/folk, like the Grateful Dead, CSN, etc.
Yep, this is fine and good, just not my personal favorite.
Classic! Enjoyable. Not mind-blowing, IMHO.
Not my all-time favorite, but James Brown is a very compelling performer.
+1 for being an iconic sound of my teenage years. -1 because I still can't stand Billy Corgan's voice.
I think Ella Fitzgerald is one of the best female singers of all time. And she’s got great source material to work with on this record.
Lou Reed was never my favorite.
I remember listening to these songs on the radio late at night when Nick Cave was on some radio program when I was a teenager. I remember keeping the radio very quiet because I was supposed to be sleeping and these songs were not rated PG :-)
A classic album! Sometimes I get a little down on the Eagles because they can feel a little commercial and overplayed, but they really did have a great sound with tight vocal harmonies.
Sure I dig it.
It’s not bad, it’s kind of fun. But musically speaking, it’s a bit like Oasis, James Bond, and a spaghetti western had some unholy musical offspring.
I forgot about this album! I do really enjoy it. But the secret they won’t tell you is that they are a jazz group masquerading as a 60s rock act.
This just isn’t my jam. I mean, I can understand some of the frustration behind the lyrics, but it’s just so angry and misogynistic…
Major meh…
Got this album in college and loved it. Still really enjoy it.
He’s such a good writer and rapper… but he’s so angry and crass.
I like Folklore a lot more, but this one is ok.
Yeah, it’s fine.
I liked this.
A classic album, for sure; and I can see how it was monumental in its day. But now it’s not my favorite.
I still remember getting a sampler CD with “Good Ships” on it when I was in high school. And of course, “Brimful of Asha” was my jam around the same time.
Not my favorite. I know it was a big album, but it doesn’t do anything for me.
I’ve always liked this album.
It’s a bop.
This was on heavy rotation for me in college. I still think it’s a great album that holds up.
This was one of the first five or 10 CDs I ever owned. So I have a very soft spot of nostalgia for this album.
I'm really not a big fan of Kid Rock... either musically or personally.
Yep, enjoyable.
Musically, I like it a lot. But I just really can’t stand Billy Corgan’s voice… it’s like nails on a chalkboard to me.
I did enjoy this.
There were some interesting moments, but most of this album just really didn’t do anything for me.
Interesting.
Yeah, this is a good jam.
This is fine, as far as Rolling Stones albums go. Most of the songs kind of sound the same to me, and I've never been a big fan of Mick Jagger's voice.
I like this album! I feel like there are a lot of musical tropes that are quoted by other musicians, and influences on bands like Genesis, Rush, ELP, etc.
Her voice is amazing. And I really enjoy some of these arrangements and chord voicings. But for whatever reason, when you put it all together, it’s just kind of meh for me.
This album is pretty great!
This is great!
Very classic rock album.
A true classic. No duds.
Yeah, this is nice; not mind-blowing, but I enjoyed it.
Nice! Fun.
Yes! I grew up on this album. Love love love it.
I’ve never been a big fan of Neil, Young’s voice, but he’s a good songwriter, and these songs are enjoyable.
I really enjoyed this! I can't believe I'd only ever really listened to the one song.
I’m not a big fan of all the drugs and sex references, but this sure is an iconic album, and it’s got a great feel!
Yeah, this album is fine. Didn't really do anything magical for me, but sounds like its time period.
Yeah, a fun rock and roll album!
I grew up listening to this, so it has a very warm spot in my heart and memory!
The album as a whole is kind of all over the place, but there are some really great songs here!
David Byrne sounds like a gag act, but he’s not—these songs have a secret depth to them. I enjoyed this album, actually.
Well, alright.
This album is pretty good. Rap isn't my very favorite genre, but I did enjoy this.
Yeah, alright.
He's such a good rapper. Unfortunately I have to take this down a star because he's just so violent and hateful and inappropriate.
I very much enjoyed this album. It’s masterful.
Yep, a jazz fusion classic.
It's ok, but all the songs sound the same after a while.
Good songwriting, great harmonies.
I do quite enjoy Nick Drake.
Sure, I like Marvin Gaye. Very soulful and enjoyable.
Some of this reminds me a little bit of early Pharrell Williams / NERD.
Not bad.
The Smiths were never my favorite. I know some people get really obsessed with them, but personally… meh.
Well this was a lot more enjoyable than I expected... more than just a disco album, there are some cool jazz influences here.
Not a big fan of this sound.
I really enjoyed this! Never heard of it/them before.
Kind of delightfully weird.
Classic jazz.
I know this is a classic album, but I think it’s just OK.
Wow, it's really 69 songs... in 3 albums... ok. I mean, I kind of like this simplified style, and I appreciate the ability to write and record so many songs... but it's a little like going to the Golden Corral--lots of food, but no single item is all that amazing. I'd rather go to Ruth's Chris and get a couple of unforgettable items.
Well, it's ok. I've never been a gigantic Aerosmith fan, but it's more than adequate as far as rock 'n roll goes.
I know people really love Joni Mitchell, and there is a lot of brilliance here, for sure. But it's just not my personal favorite.
This is not my favorite style of music or band, but it does take me back to being about 8 years old and jamming out with my cousin to this on cassette tape.
Not my personal favorite, but it does take me back.
I can see how this would have been a very exciting and popular album in its day!
I tried. I listened to a few songs, but it’s so bad I can’t stand it.
Sure, this was fine. No magic IMHO, though.
This album went stupid hard. I don’t think I had ever listened to much Deep Purple beyond Smoke on the Water, but this album really shows off their talent and energy. As the kids say… it slaps!
I enjoyed this album. I only remember hearing a couple of these songs before. I love all the quotes and musical references.
Meh… sounds like badly jerked-over Beatles tunes, but less interesting.
I really did not care for this at all.
This is pretty much exactly how I expected an album by Brian Eno and David Byrne to sound.
Some of these songs are really great. Some are mediocre.
I do like this album! I wish I could give it a 3.5, but I’m gonna give it a 3.
Classic sound, reminds me of childhood.
This was not my favorite.
Yeah, this is fine.
I didn't prefer this.
This takes me back to high school. I’d never heard the full album before… I liked it!
Classic!
There are a couple of pretty great tunes on here… the rest are ok.
Meh, alright.
When I was younger I used to really like Nick Cave for the passion and expression in his voice. Now that I'm older I find him repetitive and annoying.
Interesting.
Great album!
It’s a bop
Meh
Aqualung goes hard! The rest are ok. But I did enjoy the album.
It's ok. Not terribly interesting, and some of it sounds a bit repetitive to me.
This is like Talking Heads and Violent Femmes had a baby…
Yeah, classic rock… I appreciate it, for sure, just not my very favorite.
There’s a lot going on on this record musically. It makes me think a little bit of The Flaming Lips meets Elvis Costello.
This album takes me back to college, when I first listened to and really enjoyed this album.
It's a whole album of groovy bangers...
I did like this.
This is an interesting album for sure. There are moments that sound like iconic Queen, but other times when it feels like there’s a nod to, for example, the Beatles or The Beach Boys.
Cool jangle rock; realized how much Beachwood Sparks sounds like the Byrds.
Some good tunes, and some, well, musical fiddling around in the style of John Lennon.
YES yes yes, love this!
It’s a pretty classic album, for sure.
What a great voice for soul! I enjoyed hearing his versions of these songs. I had never heard them before.
This was very interesting, almost a kind of proto-punk.
I know everyone loves this album, but I’m just not a huge fan of his singing. The songs themselves are fine, if perhaps a little long.
Yep, pretty classic album.
This also goes pretty hard. It sounds a lot like their live album that I just listened to.
This man had, like, one and a half speeds.
Well, ok.
I know Morrissey is a hill some people want to die on, but for me it's just "ok"... a little repetitive after a while.
YES! Nostalgia city... memories of doing homework in college with this in my headphones.
Funky fun blacksploitation drug movie music…
I had never heard of this artist or album before. I definitely enjoyed this.
Very interesting.
Meh.
Pretty classic, trippy, bluesy rock & roll.
Great!
Great album.
Enjoyable.
This goes pretty hard for 1965.
Beautiful voice, lovely production.
Man, this takes me right back to college, when I first listened to this whole album.
I forgot how good Fiona Apple is.
Not bad.
This is a pretty great album.
Great album!
I never cared much for Janis Joplin. Her voice sounds like a semi-musical yelling to me.
Alright.
Classic 80s.
Yep, sounds like REM.
Yeah, this was a lot. Meh.
It's a bop.
Really classic songs.
Ehhhh, not my favorite. musically harsh and lyrically crass.
Yeah, classic, love it!
Yeah, she has a very interesting voice, and singing while playing the harp is :fire:
I know everyone loves this album. I think it’s just alright.
Enjoyed it.
Kind of a weird album, but not bad.
I remember this album! I enjoyed it.
Kinda cool that the live album was recorded in Cleveland!
Yeah, not bad.
Yeah, alright.
Ok
I liked it.
Ehhh it's ok, but doesn't do much for me.
Sure, I like Elvis Costello.
Not bad!
I was not a huge fan of this. A bunch of semi-musical meanderings that felt pointless.
eh
I did NOT like this at all.
I wasn't a big fan of this.
This was ok.
meh
I liked this.
Pretty classic!
Yeah, not bad
Enigmatic.
very nice
Yeah, alright
Yes, throwback
Yep
Yep, not bad
I didn’t care for this too much.
alright
This is not my favorite.
Pretty classic, but not my favorite. Not bad.
Not bad.
This is fine, if this is your genre. Not my personal favorite, but I can appreciate it.
Yep, some classic tunes.
Some great songs, and some mediocre ones too.
Not bad
I'd never heard of him before. Some nice tunes and guitar playing.
Classic, but not my all-time hip hop favorite.
meh
I know people like to crap on the Eagles these days. But this was a really good album.
This was not my favorite.
I’m really torn on this album. Parts of it are objectively bad, but other parts of it are intriguing and oddly beautiful.
Love it! I grew up listening to the Monkees, so this one feels close to home.
I do like Rush, and this album makes me feel all the nostalgia of first listening to them as a teenager.
This album really did not do anything at all for me.
Yeah, I remember listening to "Want One", and this one is nearly as good.
I did enjoy this very much.
This was a bop from top to bottom!
Meh
I do enjoy this album. For me, it doesn’t hit quite as hard as Kid A or OK Computer though.
Yep, classic Dave.
Classic Johnny Cash. I love how raw and genuine he sounds.
Interesting, for sure.
I really liked this... I heard the influence on so many 90s bands.
Even though this came out several years before I went to college, I listened to this album in college, so it takes me back to those days.
I enjoyed this quite a bit.
Great album.
Yeah, I love anything Brazilian or Brazilian-influenced.
Meh, not my favorite. Interesting themes of faith and family, though.
Complicated feelings about this one... but...
Alright
Not my favorite…
Some nice bits... overall not bad...
A classic! Takes me back to, like, middle school.
It's a bop.
Ok
I liked this.
Not bad
Some good tunes on here.
Not bad. "Our house" is a classic earworm.
Yeah, alright, I vaguely remember this.
I did not enjoy this.
Yeah, okay...
I had never heard this, their first album, before. I enjoyed it!
Alright
This was really interesting... not my favorite of all time, but some cool stuff on this record.
I did not care for this.
Beautiful voice, interesting songs/arrangements, lush strings… great album!
Who doesn’t like some hot Afro-Cuban jazz!?
meh, a little too hard/angry for my tastes.
Meh
Sounds like a poor man's Oasis...
meh
Not bad.
I mean, not bad... but it all sounds pretty much the same to me after a while.
I did not prefer this.
meh, ok
CLASSIC
Interesting.
A nearly perfect album.
Pretty classic, but Prince was never my favorite, so I think it's ok.
It’s a middle eastern bop.
Not a fan.
Alright.
A few gems... the rest, ok.
Classic band and album.
So much, anger and violence… I can’t really like it.
Great!
Meh
I mean, it’s good if you like this genre.
I mean, it’s fine, even good sometimes. But I don’t understand all the hype and why people get all worked up about him.
Some great songs.
Pretty great
Hear me out... the vocal tone, harmonies, instrumentation layering, chord progressions... they all make this sound like the spiritual descendent of the Beach Boys, and specifically Pet Sounds. I'm also hearing Foster the People and Conor Oberst/Bright Eyes.
Yeah, it's ok. It reminds me a little bit of (but not nearly as good as) John Lennon.
Sure, ok.
Classic!
I enjoyed this more than I thought I would!
Maaaan, I know people love this album with religious fervor, but I just cannot get into it. 😤
What a great classic sound!
Classic metal
If "Foster the People" existed in 1990...
Not a big fan.
Meh
Classic. Some great tunes here.
I didn't dislike it, but boy was it repetitive.
Classic!
This is, like, the folk you know and you’re not sure why.
Interesting
I used to listen to stereolab when I was in college, so this is nostalgia for me. You can definitely hear their influence on some modern bands.
Not my jam
This was different than I expected. I expected more metal, but this was pretty melodic.
Great voice, for sure, but after a while a lot of her songs sound the same to me.
What a great album!
I’m really torn on this—I like it and I don’t like it at the same time.
What is this, medieval jazz folk?
“Wednesday Week” was the only song I knew on this album, and it’s not even the best song!
Classic hip-hop.
Pretty classic 90s
Yeah, classic album from the 90s. I enjoyed several of these songs as a teen... but not all of them, as they were pretty inappropriate for me back then :-)
This is interesting. Not my favorite, but interesting to listen to.
Yeah, not bad.
Godfather of modern electronic music
Weird
Not bad, pretty classic hip hop
Great!
Not bad... a little repetitive.
Pretty good
Ok
Such a classic voice!
I liked this.
Not bad. A little bit of 60s kitsch, some psychedelia, and a little punky.
Certainly creative… perhaps a bit of an acquired taste 😂
Sure
Not bad
I like this! Melodic, melodically and lyrically interesting.
This is a great, classic album from Radiohead.
I can understand how this would’ve been a very interesting album back in the 1970s. It doesn’t personally do much for me, but it’s not bad.
Classic Randy Newman. I actually knew several of these songs.
This is ok, but didn't do much for me.
A classic album from my childhood. Hard to believe it’s 30 years old.
This doesn’t really do anything for me.
I forgot this was a double album. Takes me back to college, when I discovered Wilco.
I'm not a big Janis Joplin fan. There's still some decent stuff here, and she does sing with big emotion/passion, so that's good.
This is a classic album. Really got into Elvis Costello in college.
Great stuff!
Pretty great.
Brings me back to childhood…
A little too weird/experimental for me...
I enjoyed this.
Not bad!
This wasn't bad.
Ok
Ehhhh… I liked his earlier stuff, I never got into this one. So narcissistic.
I did not care for this.
Pretty classic. Some great songs.
It’s fine. His voice just doesn’t do anything for me.
Some really creative stuff here, but again I don’t prefer his voice.
Wasn’t super compelling
Loved it!
Not my favorite.
not bad
Sure. It was never my favorite, but I get it. Not bad.
I really like this album. It’s too bad he turned out to be a turd of a person.
I forgot about these guys!
Enjoyed it.
Classic
A classic
Not my cup o' tea.
I liked this; beautiful, clean sound and a haunting voice.
There's something quite compelling and endearing about Tom Waits' songs and his voice. At the same time, listening to him is a bit like rubbing hot sandpaper against your ears while walking on legos.
I know people go bananas about this album (pun intended) but I am not a big fan.
I like these songs, but I don't like his voice.
Yeah, not bad.
alright
not bad
Love this album.
It’s fine, it just doesn’t do much for me.
Meh
I expected to hate this and I did not.
Not my new favorite band, unfortunately.
This was not my favorite, but it was ok.
I did not care for this, like, at all.
Yeah, this is fine.
This album is nearly perfect, but still my third or fourth SD album, so I'm gonna give it 4/5.
Great album.
Pretty great.
So good, so beautiful and calming.
Yeah, it's fine. I was just never a huge fan.
I think this is Adele's best album.
Very interesting.
Sure, fine, alright.
A couple of these songs are really interesting, with widely varying global influences. Some of them have just truly awful vocals.
Pretty classic crooner swing...
Classic, um, classic rock.
Yeah, interesting.
I know this album is probably not objectively great, but it has a very soft spot in my heart because I listen to G. Love and Special Sauce obsessively when I was a teenager.
I do like the late 80s/early 90s R&B vibe.
Sure, ok
A very interesting voice, not my personal favorite.
Yep, great voice.
Really good, this is the kind of country music I like.
I really enjoyed this! A very powerful trio with fantastic harmonies.
It fits its time period.
This album is great. Really original takes on a number of covers.
Meh, it's ok.
I’m not a huge fan of the style, but it’s not bad.
Really great classic blues. Got tired of the harmonica after a while.
Interesting for its time period, but not my favorite.
Uh, interesting. I liked some aspects... other, less so; their voices, for example, are not all that great sometimes.
Doesn't do much for me.
This album is nearly perfect.
It’s a classic. Love some of the songs, don’t care for others.
I mean, it’s fine… I’m just not a huge David Bowie fan.
Meh, not really my jam.
This was not really my jam either.
Not bad
Some good songs here!
This was interesting to listen to -- love the Indian influence here.
An absolute classic!
This on the heels of Abbey Road… that album is awesome, and this one is just “ok”.
Alright, interesting for its time period.
People tend to get almost religious about this album. I think it’s fine, but doesn’t get me too excited.
I do enjoy a lot of African music.
Not a big Lou Reed fan.
Classic. I’ve heard many of these songs before, and obviously I’ve heard them sampled in old-school hip-hop.
Good album. I can’t believe it’s 42 years old!
This is so interesting, it’s so different than his later full-band things, almost singer-songwriter. Nice, though!
Besides the explicit language, yeah, not bad!
Yeah, it's a little weird. I like Fiona Apple sometimes, and sometimes she's just too extra.
Ok, sure, alright.
Classic Clapton
I do enjoy Indian music. This got a little repetitive.
Classic
Meh
Pretty classic Americana/roots. Her voice does get a little bit annoying after a while.
Classic
Pretty classic 90s album.
Ehhhhh... okay.
I spotted the singer’s voice right away; I had to read about the other members. Not bad, but not mind-blowing either.
This is a classic. And I got this album the day after I got the good, the bad, & the queen.
I thought I might really enjoy this album. But I definitely did not. Way too repetitive.
Not a big rap fan
This was weird.
This is like the fourth David Bowie album that has been on this list. It’s fine, but I’m getting tired of David Bowie.
I wanted to like this. It's ok, his voice is frequently pitchy and annoying.
I do like this album... some earworms, and others have a great synthwave sound that I enjoy.
Pretty classic.
One of my top 5 albums of all time.
Ehhhh... okay.
Not bad
Ok, not my favorite.
Meh
Pretty classic, love hearing these guys in this format/setting.
Yeah, it's ok, The Who was just never my favorite.
Sure, this is fine.
This may be heretical, but I think this may be Bruce’s best album.
This album is super weird. And I appreciate it for its weirdness and creativity. But it's not the album I would pull out if I wanted to sit and enjoy myself.
