Absolute fucking classic man. Fernando is a whole vibe. Add in Dancing queen, and I mean When i kissed the teacher is kinda weird, but it's good. Plus money, money, money. Solid stuff.
The Guitar work on Smokey river is so good. This albums feels like would I listen to if I was a hobo drifting trains. But on a serious note, I feel like I can feel this albums influence on a lot of my favorite music. Needle of Death is just amazing honestly. I find it absoluely haunting. A proper rambling album.
I don't think this is a bad album. Honestly, it's a pretty good one. But I didn't like it too much. The weird over production on an album that's sort of trying to display the hardships of the world. Just this whole, over the top rich celebrity singing about the woes of poor people. Just feels so fake and I sorta hate it for that. It's not bad. Just seems dated and out of touch even though it's supposed to be in touch. She can sing pretty damn well though.
This feels like something I would listen to if I was riding motorcycles and selling PCP. But I respect the album, I can for sure feel the influence of this album. It's got some pretty rad guitars and the lyrics are pretty metal. Full on Satan. I don't mind it at all.
Top 20 album of all time for me. I fucking love it. I find it really upsetting a lot of joy divisions singles never Made it to their albums. They didn't want to rip off fans, and that's fairly fucking neat. However, it's so upsetting Transmission never got an actual album release. This is me saying, if you like this album, check that song out. Probably one of the truest songs depicting depression, atleast from my personal experiences with mental illness. I love it. If you like it, make sure to check out New Order too. They formed after the death of the lead singer Ian Curtis. They never really took on a new lead singer (I've read there was a lot of denial when it came to his suicide.) Their music and sound was much more dance hall post-punk and it's really phenomenal.
Probably wouldn't have given this album a listen outside of something along the lines of this. I did not realize time after time was on this album. Most of the songs on this are absolute classics, music I grew up with and didn't even realize. Lots of love for this one. Great place to start.
not bad. Not super my style but has gotten a few replays and will probably continue to do so.
I found the album to be a little weird. I'm not quite sure I am a fan of his vocals, but it wasn't hard to listen to. The ending got a little slow, but over all it was enough to get me to explore his other music which I think speaks for itself.
One of my favorite albums of all time. Absolute classic and and it's so import for the influence that followed after its release. Will always recommend this one to anyone who will listen.
I don't really have an interesting take. Its decent music. Probably won't get another listen, but I am not mad at it.
Wish I had more to say. It's really good.
Really enjoyed it. It's going to get quite a few more listens for sure. Cherry colored Funk absolute classic.
May not have aged the best, nor is Lou Reeds voice my favorite thing on the planet. But the writing and vocals are weird, which I did enjoy quite a bit. Listened to it twice back to back. I liked it more so the second time around, especially once I got used to it.
It's a classic, and I respect that about it. However, it's not super my speed. But that doesn't mean it's bad. I would recommend to anyone who likes Rock n Roll.
It's The Beatles man. It's fun ya know? Not super my thing.
Eh. I am not mad at the album. Wasn't a waste of time but Not really my thing. Might get another listen or two. But I don't see it growing on me anymore than it already could have.
Solid. Solid Vocals and instrumentation. Liked it a lot.
Solid album. Some of the songs didn't age super well. But we are talking an almost 30 year old album.
It was good. I actually knowing more songs on this album than I had realized. Solid.
Solid Folk rock. Got a solid listen, might get one or two more but I wasn't upset at it.
I liked this one more so than transformer, but it's still a solid 3 to me. Not a bad album, by any means. but not super my style.
This is my first Elvis album. To be honest, It wasn't bad. Elvis has some solid pipes Make me know it feels like a classic, same with Fever. The girl of my best friend is good, but it feels weird to vibe to it. The Classic "I'm in love with the woman I can't have song" It's solid though, Just so many of them. Overall, I'd recommend.
I really quite enjoyed this album.
The first song being rednecks is kinda wild. Obviously an important thing about this album is that Randy Newman writes from the perspective of a shitty person or people, not his own views. I think the album was really weirdly good honestly.
Opening with the immigrant song is so good. Probably my favorite opening of a Zepplin album. But I don't think it follows the flow of that super well. But man is it a good album. Always thought it was a weird folksy sorta rock, much different than their usual sound anyway. I like it, it's different, not in a bad way. It isn't my favorite Zepplin album.
Absolute fucking classic man. Fernando is a whole vibe. Add in Dancing queen, and I mean When i kissed the teacher is kinda weird, but it's good. Plus money, money, money. Solid stuff.
I like it a lot. Gonna get quite a few listens I think,
I love this album. I prefer The Love Below over Speakerboxx to be honest. Hey ya, into Roses is just amazing. Such a Solid piece of Art. Andre 3000 and Big Boi are probably my favorite Duo.
I liked it more than most psychedelic rock.
Couldn't make it through. I found his voice unbearable. the instrumentation wasn't horrible, and I see how People would enjoy it. But not for me in the slightest.
Not a bad album. Every breath you take is a classic for sure. Not a huge fan though.
I liked this one quite a bit. Vocals are solid, and the instrumentation is quite good. Big fan.
Not quite sure what I was expecting. I'm not quite sure what I took from it honestly. I didn't enjoy it, But it wasn't the worst thing in the world. Feels like it's just not my cup of tea honestly. I might check it out at another point, but the vocals were very not great to me. Not bad though honestly.
Literally the only exposure I've ever had to Wilco was in an interview with Jpeg.Mafia, Basically they talked about his influence on the album black Ben Carson. Specifically a very controversial song it. Anyway, I liked the album quite a bit. They are gonna get more listens in the future. The end of the album had a weird change of pace where it sort of turned into a Country album. Not my speed tbh, But even then it wasn't bad. Solid work on it tbh.
Not my usual speed. But I kinda like it. I'm not sure how many listens it's going to get over time. but his vocal range is super interesting to me. Sunny afternoon is pretty damn good I gotta say.
Fantastic rainy day album. Only love can break your heart. I feel that. Good stuff, getting added to my listening rotation for sure. Probably wouldn't have ever found it without this. GIVE ME MORE FLUTE, ya know?
I didn't super enjoy it honestly. Something about it sorta gets on my nerves. I feel like I need to give this another listen at a different point in my life. It felt pretty meh overall. Not for me.
I don't have a hot take for this one. It's a classic.
Liked this one quite a bit. Solid instrumentation for sure.
I've never heard of this group before. I thought the album itself was pretty solid. Standouts for me were, the wild ones, new generation, we are the pigs, and heroine.
I don't know man, I am sure this is someones vibe. But as a person not alive in 1990 it feels super old. Like not aged super well, I could see it being like a new synth electronic thing. But man, It's so old, it feels kinda comedic to a certain point. And it's like crazy long. Felt like a slog to get through. to each their own, however this isn't mine.
Lucretia my Reflection is always a stand out for me. Big fan of this band. But to be fair, I haven't listened to them nearly as much as I would like to have. I don't have any super insightful takes on this. It sounds old, which to be honest isn't a bad thing in the case of this album. I think it works for it, Makes me want to wear sunglasses in the moonlight like Andrew Eldritch on the album cover. Which is hilarious to me. it's a fun listen.
Classic Softboy music. I really think Elliot smith is so talented. Between the bars, A song dealing with addiction... or love maybe? I don't know really. I think it's the idea of wanting to help someone you love. But in doing that, you feel like you need to keep them from people who might damage them? atleast if they're always with you, you know they can't hurt you or themselves? A well meaning song I think, but really shows how quickly that relationship can spiral into a controlling mess. I really love that song. The more I sit with this album the more I like it. It's going to be in normal rotation from now on I think. It's really great.
I never know what to take from a Zappa album honestly. I always try to make a few listens, and sometimes I feel like I get it. I don't. It's like being stoned, having the best idea in the world. And then you sober up, and it's sorta just gone forever. That's how I feel When listening to Zappa. Maybe I get it in the moment, but afterwards I don't have anything. Not a clue, It's just a ride, and a fucking good one at that.
This album makes me want to stare off into space and smoke a half of pack a smokes. It's not a bad album, the singer switch throughout is a neat mix up. I like the album artwork, It helps with that vibe for sure. Overall I think the album is fun. It isn't a must listen or anything. But it wasn't a waste of time. Not mad at it, it gets a real decent score from me.
This is one of those albums that reminds me I didn't grow up in the 80s or 90s. It's an album that sounds like the 90s, but was made in the 80s. I don't care for it honestly, Felt pretty bland. But it wasn't unlistenable. I get that some people might be really into it, but for me? That's a nah. Probably won't ever listen again.
I think this album is super witty and fun. The production sorta sounds rough, but it's liveable. I wish this sound resonated with me more. I appreciate it for what it is, but It's not something that is for me I think. It was a decent listen, not mad at all that I had the experience. Might one day try it again and see if my tastes have changed. But currently, it's not my thing.
Lost Women. What a Bassline groove. Solid stuff. Then it goes straight into over under sideways down. It's a very very fun album. I found myself tapping my foot and grooving. Happy to have found. A few songs off this will for sure get added to a playlist for when I'm in the mood to jam.
Not super my type of music. I don't think it's bad, nor do I regret listening to it. But nothing really stuck with me.
I think I like this album a lot to be honest. It's got like this almost blues/country punk sound to it. My stand out song on this one is Last Dance. Something about it really just stood out to me, Made me emotional. Just that whole "I wanted to say fall in love, I wanted to say fall in love with me." Just emotions man. Better than I thought it was going to be for sure.
I found this one to be pretty interesting. The sound itself has so much has so much texture. It feels like this album was inspired by all kinds of music at ones. Really running the gambit of Genres. And it even gets weird on the track CTA. But overall man, I think it's a good piece of work. I like it, would I stake my name on it and recommend it? Probably not. But I'm not too sure.
Feels like this really weird and interesting mix of Breakbeat, Electronica, trance, and EDM. With a dash of what I feel like is Metal, Punk, and some real industrial vibes. I like it. I think it could have been made a bit shorter to be honest. But for what it is, it does it very well.
It's Gloomy Post-punk. And it's a good version of that honestly. Love the Album art work also.
I like this tbh. Makes it cooler what he had going on at the time. Putting up a fight with afrobeat and Jazz. It's pretty rad Tbh and I think I would probably recommend this to most people just for the experience of it.
This is my first experience with a Tito Puente Album. I like it, it's definitely something I would throw on to clean the house to.
I've listened to this album a few times finding this on the list. I liked it then, and I like it now for sure. God the vocals, instrumentation and writing are fantastic. Super glad I got to listen to this one again.
Not sure if I have ever listened to a Steeley Dan record. I liked it, it was like this classic rock dabbled with what I perceive to be a dash of blues and jazz. With a gun, Pretzel Logic, and Rikki don't lose that number really stood out to me tbh.
I don't have any specific hot takes on this one. I think it's a solid album honestly. While I am not the biggest Beatles fan in the world I respect this album for what it is.
This album is pretty neat to be honest. Its got so many different sounds. Blues, Jazz, Folk, and a dash of country. Some smooth vocals added in. I don't think the lyrics were the best in the world. But it's a solid good time.
It's childhood to me honestly. It's classic rock, the guitar slaps, add the drums and the solid as vocals? it's so good to me man.
I for sure need to give this one a few more listens, and I will do so. I think it's cool, Lots of what I feel like are Classics. I never listened to this as a album though. For sure just heard them in passing and absolutely enjoyed them in that vein.
I've never heard of this album, or pavement for that matter. I have heard cut your hair in passing for sure. It was familiar enough for me to go "ah yeah I know that one." Generally speaking for me, I don't super enjoy 1990's alt rock. I respect the music, but I tend to dislike Smashing pumpkins, Weezer, Green day, and even Nirvana to a certain degree. So take my review with a grain of salt I guess. Overall, I think It was alright. The vocals at some points I found to be pretty grating. Especially on range life, maybe I don't get it, but it the his vocal ability sounds fairly bad to me. The writing itself seemed pretty solid though, I didn't spend time looking up lyrics or anything. But I think there is some good storytelling involved. Instrumentation and album structure are good especially when you really hear them having fun. 5-4=unity I think is very good for that very reason.
No hot takes from me, nor do I want to get into the morality of listening to an artist and the separation of their actions from their art. A crazy amount of hits live on this album. Some of them feel about as dated as it gets. Dirty Diana will always be a slap though.
Brings me back to being a kid for sure. Butterflys have a lot of symbolism in my life. So it gets a quite a bit of points on that end. I am not the biggest R&B fan so, I feel like maybe my rating should be taken with a grain of salt. But man, is there a lot of Just AAaahhh or OOOooOOooooOOOss lol.
This feels like something I would listen to if I was riding motorcycles and selling PCP. But I respect the album, I can for sure feel the influence of this album. It's got some pretty rad guitars and the lyrics are pretty metal. Full on Satan. I don't mind it at all.
I've never listened to this album in it's entirety before. I probably wouldn't have in general. Not because I thought it was bad or anything, but just because I feel like I have heard most of them. Jamming, one love, 3 little birds. Literal classics and over all a very solid album. Just a classic.
Never heard this one before, so this one is all new to me. Album is pretty woke, and really goes into a lot of issues that plaguing us today. Even gets into GMOs' and pesticides on food. Takes on tv, radiation, violence, homophobia. I think it's a really solid piece of hip-hop and music in the general. It's very much Textbook good. He raps crispy and clear, bar work is good, and it's got tons of meaning. It's really solid. The production I think could use some mixing, and some of the beats are kinda bland. Nothing too crazy on that end. Outside of that, they sound like have a real Public enemy inspired sound. Plus they do a cover of the dead Kennedys californa uber allies, and that's super neat to me honestly.
This one is a new to me. I have heard of it in passing for sure, but never actually sat down to listen to it myself. Back in our minds absolutely made my brain go nuts. The ringing switching from ear to ear making my whole body tingle. Solid piece of art.
We don't care, All falls down, Jesus walks, and through the wire are probably my favorites off this album. This isn't my favorite Kanye album, but it's a good one for sure. I really love it when Kayne gets into his uplifting bag. He kills it when he is in the right headspace. This Album gets recommended for sure.
Could legit talk for hours about Lauryn Hill. Especially this album. I think it's as classic as an album can get. And the fact that is her only studio Album genuinely breaks my heart. But the influence on music this album had. Changed the pace of both Rnb and Hip-hop and really showed that Lauryn was to be respected as a MC. I really believe she was the best part of the Fugees. This album has this beautiful mixture of Reggae. especially since she worked with Bob Marleys son. Add in some blues, hip-hop, and a dash of heart break and you really get something amazing. Lauryn Hill absolutely proved herself on this one. This to me get the highest rating an album get. Love it so much. Will always get a recommend from me. Check this one out.
This one is new to me, Probably wouldn't have ever stumbled into it if it wasn't for this thing. I don't really think it's my style to be honest. I think the writing is pretty good, the instrumentation is very passable. The vocals are solid. Everything about this albums seem good. and because of that I really wished I liked it more. I'm not upset I listened to this album, Listened to it twice actually was hoping it would hit a bit better the second time round. And it didn't really at all. But hey it's not horrible, just not my speed is all. Metal baby, the concept, and what you do to me were my favorites of the bunch.
I know the queens of the stone age, but never actually listened to any of their work. Regular John - It's a fairly neat one, It's for sure about a prostitute, or well the relationship between them and the John. I like it, Song writing solid, Production is sweet, some guitars noises I'm pretty unfamiliar with, Vocals are great. This one is good for sure. Was gonna do a track to track review on this, but nah, I don't think I have anything to intelligent to say, atleast not anything really interesting to add. It's just good stuff. Albums long but not in a boring way. Decent way to spend my afternoon. Some real neat sounds on this one.
Bjork is weird I'll be honest. There is some really interesting stuff happening. Felt like Bjork took me places, one minute we are in a city street, the other in a bar down town. Then I'm like in her apartment, just Bjork and myself, and she's slamming around a tambourine. Did I fall in love with her? probably so. It's a dope album and is going to get another few listens for sure.
Album kind slaps I'll be honest. It gives me hard anemoia vibes. Like I feel really heavy nostalgia for the time period this album evokes. These like 1980's finding love for the first time next to a beach in the sun. It's pretty cool. It doesn't feel dated like most of the other albums I've listened to. At least not in bad cheesy way. But there is definitely some cheese in there.
I think with this album, is that felt pretty average. I wasn't super moved or enthralled with it or anything. It's nice to have in the background but I'm not sure it's something I wouldn't normally seek out to be honest. So yeah, middle of the road album gets a middle of the road score.
Not much for me to say about this album that hasn't already been said honestly. It's Zepplin man. Good times bad times is a fantastic opener into an album that really does cover situations that show that in action. From I can't quit you baby to babe I'm on gonna leave you. It's a good album and one I think is absolutely working taking the time out of your day to listen to.
It's so fucking emotional and rich. Man, I fucking love her on the low. You oughta know man, She is just talking that fucking shit and I love it. Add in hands in my pocket and Ironic. Super solid album. Just emotions on full display with no covering it. AAAAHHHH fucking love it.
I don't know man. Like I recognize this a really solid grunge album. But I don't really like grunge in general so I feel like my score for this will be lower than others. but I do really enjoy Heart shaped box and Dumb. All Apologies isn't too bad either. Not sure what sound they were going for when they made Tourette's but I don't care for it. But maybe that was the goal? who knows. Overall, I see it's value and worth in the genre itself. But I never fully understood the hardcore Nirvana Kurt Cobain thing. Decent music for sure though.
I've listened to this quite a few times. I'm a big fan, Love Personal Jesus, love Enjoy the silence, and everything else is just solid.
I don't have a super in-depth review of this one. I'd never heard of these guys before. But this is a pretty solid sound overall. It's an interesting mix of New wave and post-punk and I really like it actually. Definitely worth the listen and will probably get a few other listens too.
I really don't know how I would have ever found this album naturally lol. I didn't expect to like it as much as I did, but it was really great honestly. A really solid atmospheric ambient album with some very impressive instrumentation. I hope more people find this album for sure. And I am going to have to explore this side of sound more often was really neat. Felt like I was living in a small village herding sheep and chilling out. It's a simple yet unbelievably complex album. So fucking cool yo.
I really liked this one a lot. Great vocals, the instrumentation is weird and super fits within the work. I added quite a few of the songs to one of my playlists.
This album is cool. but it's really not for me. I don't think it's bad but I'm not a super big fan. It feels really old, and I don't really digg the classic rock thing. So no disrespect to them or anyone else to enjoy this one, But for me it's a hard meh.
Smooth vocals, especially impressive that this is Live. Really adds to the date and character of it. I am not normally a fan of live albums, but this one really works for it. It's smooth and filled with an extreme amount of character.
Common over some Kanye and J. Dilla beats, it couldn't be bad honestly. I think it's a very stand out album, but it isn't super my speed. The whole Sort of R&b mixed with gospel sound is cool, but it isn't my taste. This isn't my first time listening to this one, I've heard it in the past. The experience more or less stayed the same. It's good, but it isn't something that is going to get put into the weekly rotation.
This is a favorite and what I consider to be a classic album. Just amazing song after amazing song. Dreams will Always be a very solid like top 20 song of all time to me. Then you got Go your own way, Silver Springs, oh Daddy. I don't even really feel like I need to say much. It's a must listen, and it's an album that I could listen to for the rest of my life and never get tired of it. I have so far, and I am so glad this one came up again. Just looking for a reason to re-listen again.
I can feel this albums influence on a lot of music. While I don't think I am a huge fan. It was really solid to have playing in the background.
Don't even really need to isten to this album again as I've listened to it so much. But then again, I'm always looking for a reason to listen to it again. I love this album, 1969, I wanna be your dog, and real cool time. There isn't really a bad song here. I can feel the influence of this album in a lot of music. Proto-punk for sure. It's awesome, and not even my favorite Stooges album. I highly recommend their music to everyone.
I think I get it ya know? This album is almost 50 years old, and for what that is worth it's extremely impressive. And while it's not really my taste at all, I can see how important it is for music. For my personal taste it isn't super high on that list, but I think it rates well over all.
Thought it would be better. I found it kind of boring man.
While this isn't necessarily my favorite genre, which this is like a precursor to Raggae. (I think) it's not something I'd normally listen to in the background. It's definitely a feeling, and has so much life in it. Maybe if I rolled a joint the size of a hogs leg and had a couch to melt into, I'd probably enjoy it more. But eitherway, blitzed out of my mind or not. It's a solid piece of art work.
Not sure how I've gone so long without hearing this album. I've heard money for nothing and walk of life while being out and about. I think it's incredibly well done, and absolutely love the vocals and instrumentation. The writing is really solid too.
Psychedelic meets 60s folk music. It's fucking weird and out there. But I like that, it's something different while also being really familiar? So maybe this album has more influence than I can attribute to it. Eitherway it's pretty damn cool. Also, the album art cracks me the fuck up. It's weird just like music, fits perfectly for sure.
Not a big trip-hop guy. Maybe when I was younger and stoned out of my skull 90% of the time this would have hit differently. But I don't even really know how analyze this one lol. I didn't hate it, it feels too long, and drags at points.
This album is so fucking good. Fiona Apples vocals are unbelievable, she has different delivery on each track its Super impressive. Add in some really good song writing and instrumentation and you really got something special. God the jazz influences on slow like honey are just so good. Incredible.
Never heard this before, am not super familiar with Janelle Monae in general. But man this album goes all kinds of places. This album has what feels like a dash of everything. R&b, Funk, Electronic, Rap, Jazz, Orchestral, Disco, Film scores, Even like some psychedelics rock and like some like British Folk influence. Like this mash of Some David Bowie and outkast. Just so much weird stuff it's pretty neat. Especially with the whole using metropolis as a foundational idea. It's really good.
Solid voice and instrumentation. Taps into a different reality it feels like. It's just feels and sounds like something really old. But really old in an interesting, and not outdated and boring way. I liked it alot actually.
No hot takes here. It's pretty good. I definitely don't feel like I wasted time listening to it.
I don't think it's bad. But the sort of weird shakey over the top vocals don't really do it for me. It's all a bit much at times.
69. Nice. 3 Discs. 2 hours and 45 minutes long. Not so nice. It feels like a Gimmick at points. but like, it's fairly decent. it's just a pretty extreme undertaking lol. Like there isn't very much of a chance I can handle this whole thing in single listening period. So it's taken two different sit downs. It's pretty alright. I didn't hate it.
I never really caught the Jay z thing. Like maybe I was too young to appreciate him or his music. But this shit is underwhelming and honestly, dated and boring. And I've felt like that about this album since my first time listening to it in like 2011. Always hated the whole back rapper bullshit of "if you don't think jay is the Goat you're opinion doesn't matter." Hate that gatekeeper bullshit.
Cool title. Solid Album Artwork. It's a mix of like New wave, punk and some groove in there. While I don't think it's the greatest thing in the world I do think it's crazy amounts of fun. I'd always heard of them, but never really picked up and listened to anything by them. I listened to the No dogs in space podcast cover them. It's solid stuff, and they are crazy interesting with how much shit they went through. I'd recommend this album and the podcast.
Not what I expected overall honestly. I think each song had its own vibe, and man it's catchy and different. It's a solid piece of work.
Feels pretty middle of the road to me honestly. Like to to be honest, I don't think it's bad. It's just a decent album. But then, it also has bohemian rhapsody. Which is a certified classic.
I could write up a bunch about this album honestly. It came out when I had just started going to college. So it got a lot of play time in the car and when I used to go on runs. It reminds me of many good memories, it was like a musical backdrop for that year. But even aside from that, It's really insane that like more than 70% of this album were huge hits. For me, It's probably my favorite Taylor Swift Project. I love the way she went with the sound and sort of left the more country stylings behind. Definitely in favor of the more poppy sound for sure. I actually recommend this album to people when they don't really like much of her work. Especially when they didn't enjoy fearless or Red.
While this isn't my favorite album on the planet, it is pretty neat. The music, atleast for me conjures visions and feelings of what the album cover shows. It feels like something I should be listening while cruising through the dark. It's almost meditative in a way. While it might not score super high, I do think it's cool as fuck honestly.
Dated, but also simultaneously way ahead of it's time. It's neat, experimental, and feels like my head is stuck in the clouds, while also having a solid narrative. I liked it. Frozen lakes man. Fuck that.
Very solid live performance for sure. Maybe not as tight as I'd like it, but pretty solid for a live show. Dude's one of the greats for sure.
Super solid. Instrumentation and vocals. Lyrics are rock solid too.
It's cool, but not super my vibe. I don't care for the more old school rap stuff. It's fun but just not for me in general.
I have listened to quite a bit of tom waits. I don't believe that I ever listened to this album. But, I tell you what, I like it. I love his voice, sounds like gargling gravel and petrol. Just stoney, and rough. I think it creates such a neat sound. Plus he is a pretty interesting guy, and for sure reflects in his music. This one is a weird one for sure. But there are some songs I deem to be classics. The neighborhood is an absolute classic 16 Shells from a 30.6 absolutely slaps. This get recommended from me for sure now.
Ole' no show Jones. Dude's good. He got that name because people actually wanted to see him before. He showed up and phoned it in from time to time. But yeah, overall. it's a decent piece of my country music. Not my favorite but it's good.
I don't need to explain this one lol.
Not really a big Beach boys guy. I think it's cool ya know? But I have to be a very specific mood to really be into this. It's not bad though lol.
I really like this album, it's incredibly fun, and I'm not exactly the most experienced with the pixies I do like most of their work. At times I feel like I am listening to the white stripes, maybe jack white had some vocal influence from this group? Not sure, I don't super think it matters. But, I do think it is quite fun to hear it in action. Also, Nice.
Wasn't amazing, wasn't bad. Very middle of the road for me. A three for sure.
I've had a few albums like this one so far on here. It feels like I should really be into this album and band. But I don't know it sorta misses the mark, I absolutely want to like it more than I do. It's not bad, it's fairly solid. Feels very Tony Hawk soundtrack to me which is kinda cool I guess.
I don't have a hot take here. It's a super interesting and well made album. I saw the Nostalgic Critic stuff where he covered album attempted to roast it? Literally some of the dumbest shit I've ever seen/heard. But it got people talking so maybe it worked to that point? Eitherway, I probably haven't done enough drugs to fully appreciate it.
Not feeling this one right now. Could be where I'm at in my life or something. The vocals just didn't hit how I feel they should have. Which is why I'm gonna recommend this one to my future self. Maybe it will feel different by then. We'll see I guess. Eitherway it's decent, just feela like I should like it more.
I feel like there is a lot of people who really enjoy Oasis. I had never hard this album but I was fairly Familiar with a lot of the songs. And maybe I would have enjoyed them more if they weren't absolutely memed to death. So It wasn't bad, but I didn't like it very much at all.
I really liked this one. I thought to myself "yo this album fucks." I don't super know what that means, but I liked it.
Never actually sit and listened to this album. So I was pretty excited to throw it on. I love spellbound, solid opening for sure. Feels like a Classic in the realm of post punk. It's great, this album maybe came a month early, feels like it would be great for Halloween.
I've got no hill to die on here. I'm not a big fan of the Beatles in general. But I at least found this one listenable. So take that for what it's worth.
I don't speak the language. So it makes it a bit harder to judge but honestly, it sounds pretty dang rad.
I'm not a big Folk rock dude at the end of the day. Don't super care for the psychedelic's sound too much either. I fully understand some people like this one a lot. However, Not for me, I found it kind of annoying at times. I wish I enjoyed the fucking tamborine more as a general rule. I don't.
Not super my thing. I actually sounded pretty good, but It sounded really old. I Don't think I could ever really picture myself listening to something with that sound in my spare time. It's not bad, it's not good. It just is.
Gonna do the usual, seperate music from art and artist. But also fuck Morrissey. The album is good, as most of the smiths work is. I like it, made me feel vaguely bad about eating meat, which I think was the goal. Anyway, solid guitar work, writing, and vocals
First half is like really dark, and almost kinda boring? It sounds like death, not the band but actual dying. Coudln't explain why I felt that way, I could just feel myself slowly aging as it went on. Second half I liked a lore more. I felt like a good amiunt of the music gained a new sort of personality vs. just the sound of slowly dying to alcoholism and cigarettes'.
Doesn't super sound like something that came out during the 90's. Could have convinced me that it came out in the 70's by the sound of some of the songs. Overall, I am not a huge fan of the album, it didn't super stand out to me, but it was fun to listen to. Which is it's own merit.
I find Pavement to be very grating. The production feels shot in places, The instrumentation is much louder than the Vocals, and I guess i struggle to hear his voice? not that I really want to any tbh. But I dislike it.
I mean, it's fun man. I think that's it at the end of the day. Don't you want me baby? Classic as it gets.
This type of music always makes me laugh. As someone born in the 90's and didn't really find hip-hop and rap until I was in my late teens. This just feels so incredibly dated and with a slight dash of cheesy nostalgia. But it isn't horrible. It's fucking fun, and I'll die on that hill.
This one was pretty fucking cool. I'm gonna recommend this one to my future self when I took a look over these in a few years. Lots of sounds bro, listen again.
To be honest I kind of wanted this one to be over pretty quickly. I feel like I've been recommended a bunch of albums from the 90's performed by a bunch of dudes who are decent at writing, but fucking suck at singing. Like, I don't even think this guy would be that bad if he sort of stayed in his lane. But he decides to do some highs that I find feel like nails on a chalkboard. It's also got my beloved monster. Which I first heard in Shrek, so that's kind of fire.
Childhood for me. My mom listened to so much Meatloaf when I was kid, especially this album. Fucking awesome man. I still remember watching paradise by the dashboard light. This big sweaty man dancing and twisting around in a blouse. But all I could think was "Man this guys fucks." And he does.
I've listened to this album quite a few times. This like wild mixture of Jazz, Blues, rock, and a heavy dash of poetry. It slaps, hard. Break on the through, what a solid fucking intro song for a band on their debut album. It sticks with you. Also man, I wish more modern music incorporated Organs more into the sound. It's so solid.
Tina Turner is like old lady hot? I remember my mom listening to her when I was a kid. I felt like Turners voice was so aged? it's a beautiful voice, but I get kind of weirded out when she starts talking the more sexy game. Like, Good for her ya know? but also, I know so much about her life and it's sorta sad. She's got some solid vocals and it's a solid album with some real classics.
Tried really hard to listen to the entire thing I don't think it's bad by any means. There are a lot of really impressive songs on here. But man getting through it is tough for some reason.
This is a pretty solid Example of Britpop that I don't super care for. I sounds old, but it was made in the 90's so I don't super get it. Plus, To keep it honest I found the lead singers vocals pretty grating. Glad it's over lol. It wasn't horrible, and I imagine a lot of people like it. Not for me.
Cool Vocals and riffs man. It's a solid voice the lead singers voice mixing felt a bit odd at first, but it grew on me.
Not super for me. I don't care for the vocals. I think it's got a certain cool factor. but I don't find it super interesting. There is a lot of ideas on here though, and they are not all bad.
I've listened to album a bunch over my life. Personally, I wasn't quite sure how to rate it. I was thinking it was maybe a 4, but I've had so much fun and enjoyment out of this album that it is a true classic to me.
I really enjoyed the first half of this album a lot. Then it sorta changed around Gospel. Dude started rapping? And like, eh I don't think it's very good. So first half solid, then nose dives.
I don't know. It's gets a bit more interesting near the end. Especially 22 going on 23. Just the whole thing was kind of noise, and I really fucking that "It just sounds like noise." But this one really does to me. Maybe I missed the point? Either way I wouldn't recommend it to anyone, I'm not upset I listened to it. At least now I can complain about fucking weird and unlistenable I find it.
I feel like at times this album is supposed to be ambient and peaceful. But honestly a lot of the droning and nothing, into the spikes of noise just gave me fucking anxiety. I ended up feeling weirdly anxious throughout this whole album. I don't feel like I should hate it, but I really hated listening to it.
Not super my thing. not a big fan of the more disco Michael Jackson. Don't stop till you enough is absolute classic though, same with rock with you. It's good.
I can't explain how much I dislike the vocals on this album. Not familiar with These guys, I also gave Siamese dream or w/e a 1. It's not for me at all. The most listened to song on this album was just okay to me. Writing sucks on it too.
This came out in the 90s? It feels old, real Blues rock vibes. Like some shit I'd listen to while drinking Budweiser and oiling my mullet back.
I'm not sure if this is my favorite Bowie album. But it's up there, especially since he has one of the best discography's or any musician ever. This album fucks my week up, let alone my day. Bowie knew he was going, and I think he really put it into this one man.
Drums are cool, but this is an album that I don't super know how to break down. So, I'm not upset that I listened to it. It's just weird and out there. Found it weirdly relaxing and added it to my relaxing playlist with vocals.
I really liked In the mood, neat that Bonnie Raitt was on it. This Isn't my first exposure to John Lee Hooker. He's so fucking good, this isn't my favorite work of his but it is good, it's a bit overproduced it feels like at times. But even that can't kill the Blues baby.
Liked 2 cool 2 be 4gotten or whatever. I dig her vocals, it's nostalgic, but I've always never heard her. So it hit this really weird niche that I really actually like.
I don't even really need to relisten to this one, But I've done it because it's fucking worth listening to. Man I love this album. And they linked to the Iggy pop version. Which I like the most, they fucked the recording of this shit up. They recorded everything at one time so it's so hard to balance. So on one end you have the David Bowie mix, which he tries to make something pretty decent without but it really does lose that gross raw and gritty sound that Iggy pops. Which Iggy just slid everything to the top and called it a day. Which is why I think this albums needs to be listened to loud. So for the big speakers it's always the Iggy pop, if I'm using some nice headphones then the Bowie mix. Albums good, The stooges slap. It's always worth the time. Highly recommend.
Decent Folk music. Was fun I think is the way to put it. I'd listen to it while being outside and grilling. Not bad yo.
It's smooth. Not smooth enough for a 4 or a 5 but it's smooth.
Ayo holy shit, the jackass theme song is on this album. I'll be honest that took my surprise for sure. It's a long ass album but I enjoyed my time with it.
Really like the closing track on this one. It's a weird, but I like it. Solid music all around I'd say.
I don't know man. I really wish I was more into this sort of Classic rock n' roll thing. Like I never really cared for the Rolling stones, but I feel like I enjoyed these guys more to be honest. But yeah, This rockabilly deal is really hit or miss with me. It's not bad though, It has moments where it sounds extremely 70's, tin can style. But it's decent.
Really solid Album. No real interesting take from me here. It's Cube talking about really important social issues, and maybe handling them decently? I suppose It depends on the song. Dude can rap and production is really solid.
I've always heard people talk about LCD sound sound system. I've never really listened to them ever. This album wasn't bad, but it wasn't my thing. Maybe there is such a thing as too much cowbell?
I don't even know how to pretend like I understand what is happening here. I think it's a very important album for the sound and shape of music, especially in regards to sampling. It's super cool, but I don't know man. However, moonlight in glory fucks. Check that one at the very least.
Very brit-punk-alt-something. I don't mind give me a Cigarette and a fish and chip yo.
Gave it three listens. I don't think it was something that super stood out to me. But I did enjoy it. Will it get rotated again? Probably not, but I do think it was worth listening just to say I know it.
Album cover cracks me up. Overall, I thought it was fun. It just oozes character. worth the listen.
It's alright. Not my favorite album but its decent. Dudes supposed to be woke, but throws around the n-word? one of those weird things that show times have changed for the better. Outside of that it's alright.
I am pretty familiar with Superfly, and liked the soundtrack from it. But hearing it in a proper album format was really interesting; because it was really good. Like way better than I thought it was going to be. I've listened to this one 3 or 4 times at this point. I Really enjoy Pusherman, No thing on me, and Superfly. They are all really solid I gotta say.
It's pretty cool I'll be honest. Feels very 90's this almost nostalgic view of the future, while being very clearly from the past. I dig it. Electronic Bass and drum mixed with Indian folk maybe? It's fucking cool either way.
Pretty neat time for this album to come up actually. I listened to a podcast recently on Joy Division. (no dogs in space. they do a good write up and touched on New order a bit.) But man I am a big Joy division and while I really miss Ian. New order just meshes this melancholy feeling with a real need to dance. It's so fucking good man.
Always super impressed to hear the way the Q-tip rhymes. Dude is legit one of the smoothest flowers to ever grace the mic, and I think for that I always look forward be that he is gonna sling at us. This one for sure is pretty good, I really dug the features. Just a solid album for sure.
It's fucking weird right? I don't have a lot experience with Beck at all. I know loser, which is a fucking bop and a half. However, with this album, I got nothing. It's weird. The samples are out there, Novacanes ending with the weird spaceship-hip-hop beat. Beck is rapping over this right? As weird as it is, it is equally as fun. Just plain old fun man.
While it isn't my favorite Metallica album in their discography, I do really like. Some real classics on here, especially opening up with Enter Sandman. Nothing else matters, Sad but true, and the unforgiven. Whole thing is filled with really solid songs. Solid Album.
This shit is so British it's interesting. Lots of slang and language I don't super understand. It's cool, I'm not sure it's the best thing on the planet but it sounds like some early grime type stuff. Feels like something I would hear in Snatch or Long stock and two smoking barrels. It's telling a story for sure, one I don't know. Overall, It took a while to grow on me, but by the end I was into it.
I enjoyed this album way harder than I thought I would. I normally don't enjoy death metal too much. But the vocals are brutal and raw. Just some really solid stuff. Add in the artwork too, it feels so classic. Overall do I think this album is a 5/5? Maybe not in a Objective but from my personal perspective? this feels really good honestly.
I think it's pretty solid honestly. This is the second Numan album I've gotten and I've liked the both of them. Some very interesting sounds on this, and while there is a lot of synth, I think there is a lot done with it. Especially on the more atmospheric tracks like Aslyum. It's cool.
I mean, I get the whole objective impressiveness of The Beatles. But as for my personal tastes I think album is okay. Probably my favorite of the bunch. But there are some songs I hate listening to, like lucy in the sky with diamonds. The vocals are so intensely grating. So it's a fat eh from me.
Feel like a gospel album that is out of touch with Religion. I am always a pretty big fan of Nick caves' vocals. Especially on this one. I tend to dislike double albums a bit, I feel like they are too long. But this one is okay I guess. Especially because they feel pretty distinct. It's a solid double album as far as im concerned.
Not on nearly enough drugs to really enjoy this. I don't really like folk all that much and this is like folk-pop-electronic and it's just not for me.
Cohen fucks man. The writing on this is solid, followed with a fucking sultry ass voice. It's good, I am vaguely familiar with him but not enough to say I am a fan or anything like that.
Just a middle of the road good album. Nothing really to complain about. Maybe the last song being 10 minutes long and having to wait for like 4 or 5 minutes of silence? Was kind of annoying to me lol.
Cool vibes. Give me a drink and a dash of sunshine, would make for a decent evening.
Man, I don't know. I think it's for me I Want to rate it higher but I don't know why.
Look at those motherfucking high heels.
Absolute bangers on this Jeremy, evenflow, black, and alive. Everything on this is super solid.
A lot of different sounds on this album. Some of them are really solid, others I found incredibly grating. Cool album, but not for me in the long run.
I really enjoy Loretta Lynn a lot. Her vocals are so fucking good, and maybe the lyrical content was more of a bummer, but the up and downs of love and a partner who cheats. I mean it fucking sucks and is a bummer. I enjoyed it a good bit.
Solid piece of live music. However, I sorta dislike music in general, I don't have the headphones to make it sound "Real." So all I get is some sort of subpar recording with overblown screaming and shouting in the background. It's cool, but I also kind of hate it is a format.
It's not bad, it's more or less a pass for me. Couple of bangers on here. It's a cool atmospheric album. But I can never figure out if I like Bonos voice or not.
This feels like something I'd listen to while surrounded by a withering mass of bodies all connected in one way or the other. And then after all the acid wears off and I'm stuck alone, nude in a room full of people. I wonder how my family is doing. I haven't called them in months, maybe longer? Who knows. This is fucking 60s cult music
Lots of classics on this one. Three steps, simple man, free byrd. Super solid stuff.
Illmatic is a properly impressive piece of work honestly. He wrote this piece when he was 19 and at that time had more lyrical ability then most rappers would ever achieve honestly. It's a really solid piece of work, but I don't think I'm a huge huge fan of it. I've listened to it a quite a few times, and it's sort of the album that people respect you for listening to. But eh, I don't like it all that much. Could be my southern bias too a certain degree, but I don't think I love it as much as everyone else does.
I'm actually pretty familiar with this album. I think it's really solid. I wish it came with a cheatsheet for what drugs I need to really enjoy it. I'm sure there is definitely a way to drop something and peak at the perfect time. Eitherway, I'm a fan.
It's not bad. I can never tell if I like the lead aibgers voice or not. I think I like it most of the time, then sometimes it just sounds super old and cheesey. But like, maybe this is what made the cheese? And can you fault it for that? I don't really think so, sultan of swing is a fucking banger for the ages. Overall, it's good.
A lot of people consider it peak punk. I don't not a big fan of the sound. Definitely prefer the American punk scene more so than the British one. Solid album just not super for me.
I have to say, I was born in the 90s didn't grow up in it really. I really don't care for a lot of the music from it. Especially this sort of alt-vaguely grunge sounding stuff. This one isn't nearly as bad as the others on this list, and it has its own almost folk sound. It's listenable for sure.
I think coldplay has a very specific sound. I have gone most of my life without listening to them. Yellow fucks Can't lie about that one. Rest of the album is kind of meh to me. It's not as bad as I've always heard everyone say. Feels like that might come from a dash of pretentiousness.
I thought it was very interesting at points. Most of the time I was fan of the sounds dancing together. Other times, especially one of the guitar solos I thought was too much. Maybe I don't have the ear to listen and properly appreciate it. I thought it was just too much. Not for me.
A reoccuring theme in rock'n'roll music is the want to fuck your boys girl.
I constantly hear about how really good this album is. I think it's good, I want to like it way more than I actually do though. Maybe it's that this album influenced a lot of music I really enjoy or maybe the sort of low tune singing and soundscape idea isn't for me.
A really solid jazz album. This is one that I feel like I would listen to while investing the death a young up and coming movie starlet in 1950's L.A. I for sure have a drinking and smoking problem, but God damnit I'm good at my job.
I feel like I can hear the genuine influence this album had on Jack Black lol. Especially on the first track, always makes me laugh when I hear some of the inspiration from Tenacious D. I wonder if Their self titled album or Pick of Destiny will show. At the very least all I can do is hope ya know?
I don't know very much about ambient music. I got into it a while back. So this isn't my first time listening to it. I think it's the top-est of tiers as far as ambient music goes.
Latino-funk-rock-hiphop fusion album? It's pretty damn neat honestly.
There are some stands out on this album. It has a pretty interesting fusion of country/psychedelics/folk rock. I liked Blue bird, good time boy, and Mr. Soul.
Overall, I liked it. Was kind of annoyed with the live setting at points. I didn't realize I'd just randomly having people chit chatting in the background. Was making me think someone was talking in my house or something. Bugged me out until like the 5th song lol. It's alright though, It's very much a hotel Lobby slapper.
Lol bro I don't care about this album. Like I feel guilty, like everyone has always swore how good and important this album is. And like I appreciate it for what it is, but I do not care about it at all. It's kind of boring and I hated a lot of the background noises.
Normally before I write the overall review here, I make my decision and then check the global reviews section. The top upvoted review is probably the best example of a relationship with the music of Elliot Smith. I liked this one a lot, solid piece of music.
Dude looks like Adam Sandler. I wonder who pulls more strange.
Peak Christmas music I think.
Finding out I'm not a big blur fan. I've always liked Gorrilaz, but I think I find Damons Blur singing voice is grating honestly. I don't think the singing voice is bad, or that he is a bad singer. Just it isn't for me. I've enjoyed fhis album quite a bit more than I enjoyed Parklife.
Papa was a rolling stone is absolute classic. This entire album is extremely solid.
I mean it's a good album for when I am feeling pretty good. I Really only listen to Sinatra around Christmas. But this album was solid.
I don't normally enjoy Grunge. But maybe it's the lofi angle that makes it more palatable than the others.
I've always heard massive attack talked about. I really liked the first track. I don't care too much for the other dudes vocals throughout this. It isn't bad just sounds a bit goofy to me every once and a while.
This is something I would love to experienced in person. Just filled with alcohol and drugs dancing next to my partner late into the night. Would have been super fucking sweet. However, That's not what this is though. Maybe I've missed something, I realize there is probably some skill within the drums. But I don't super like this one at all. Felt like a headache. Maybe it's the age, the shrieking, the bad mixing. I don't know but it doesn't work for me.
Lots of fun and the album art itself is so rad. While I don't think this is the greatest thing to grace my ears. I do think it's so fucking fun, and I look forward to getting to know the music better, then being able to sing a long with it, gonna be super neat.
Basically anything CCR is a classic. I really enjoy this one, lots of really good ones on it, probably not my favorite of their discography though.
Albums Decent. Morrissey has a song here called I am hated for loving, That shit didn't age all that well too well, which is fucking hilarious. Dudes the worst. Fuck Morrissey.
the album with Oye como Va. This album was really fucking solid. Also, the album artwork absolutely fucks.
Thought it was pretty decent. I kind of got Dead Kennedys vibes from it. But I don't think I liked it anywhere near as much as them.
Solange is good. Always impressed with the pipes.
I Enjoy Sabbath a lot, This isn't my favorite by them. But there is something innately classic to me about it. So influenctial and man, the fucking riffs. Ozzys voice is absolutely iconic as they come. Mix that with some very early on vague Satanism and a badass album cover and you really got something cool as fuck.
I feel pretty nostalgic for this kind of music. My grandfather used to listen to Waylon. I've spent many an afternoon eating porkchops and listening to Waylon with him. He used to talk about the days of Running white lightning and shooting shit up. Different Life man. And these albums bring me back to that part of my childhood. While also helping me second hand experience some Whiskey fueled nights of Gooning around the mountains.
I really love The Temptations. Heard it through the grape is just a solid piece man. It's always been interesting to me, I grew up near a vineyard and we'd pick grapes and blue berries from to time. And It rings so true lol. You can't see anything through it, so you just kind of have to listen. Super makes sense once you've been in the situation. But nah it's this interesting mix of Funk meets motown and It just fucks man.
About as smooth and Iconic as it comes. Inject that fucking organ and guitar directly into my veins.
This is my shit man. Plain and fucking simple. I love it.
Chuck D has a great voice man. Super Iconic. Not the biggest fan of Flava Flav. It's probably not my favorite Public Enemy album, but it's pretty solid honestly.
Feels cool, like Gin and cigarette smoke. I like the Feminine vocals, the dude singing not so much honestly.
Not my favorite Swift honestly. But it isn't exactly the worst.
I think it's really fun. The vocals fucking rip honestly. Maybe the writing isn't exactly the best. But it's super fun, feels like dramatic as it gets.
This one didn't vibe with me at all. Felt dumb. Maybe I missed the point?
With a banger like American Pie I kind of expected more and didn't get it. Decent album. But I'm let down I feel like.
Van Halen is real cool, and this album is fucking jammed to brim with hits.
I liked it. I think it was pretty good. Definitely weird and original and probably lead to years of Grunge. Which is kind of a bummer. But hey it's decent.
Prog as fuck I feel like. I liked it a lot.
I like this one a lot actually. I can influence she's had on the sort of bedroom rock vibe. She definitely has had influence on like Soccer mommy, Japanese breakfast, phoebe bridgers, and maybe Kacey Musgraves in a weird off way. I think it's good. And it's response to exile on main street which I got recomennded just the other day, that's super neat I gotta say. I liked this more though lol.
Queen of the silverdollar. Fucking fire dude. This album is great.
I think it's neat. But also sort of dated. I think it's almost got these sweet drinking in a speak easy. But just sorta misses the mark.
Kind of interesting to see how many of these songs I actually knew. Which were most of them.
i mean this is the money right? It's Phenomenal.
The link that I used from this site sent me to the UK version. Which straight up doesn't have paint it black on it. Which is an absolute bummer. So I said fuck it and listened to both of them. Paint it black is an absolute banger of a song. Mothers little helper proves that Suburban house wives have had mental health issues for the last 60 years. Under my Thumb is real fucking weird.
Eh. Dude is the fucking worst. Maybe that made this one harder to hear. Didn't care for it. Feels like lame ass summer music. Not for me.
It doesn't exactly keep up with Take on me. But tbf, that would be a hard thing to do. I don't hate, just doesn't keep that fucking energy that radiates from Take on me.
I mean it's queen man. It's not favorite Queen, but it's some of their best work.
I am not the biggest Thrash metal fan but Megadeth is always pretty solid.
I think it's a bop man. By bop I mean it feels like my fucking soul is being syphoned out of me slowly. I have listened to a lot of Cash. And like, hearing him so fucking old is kind of hard to listen to. Also it's fucking rad he covered Personal Jesus. Fucking neat that one. Much prefer his cover of im so lonesome I could cry. Anyway I fuck with this album, I don't exactly think it's a 5 out of 5. But it's def solid as fuck.
Makes me wish I could understand the language. It seems really neat, and the instrumentation is so fun.
I like the vocals on this one quite a bit. Overall, I think it's a solid album.
Liked it a lot more than I thought I would. Honestly it's pretty good, It's fun and His voice is kind of Nostalgic to me for some reason.
It's good, it's soft. It feels like something I wanna cook eggs and chill out on rainy day too. It's just simple. And i like that about it.
I don't think this is a bad album. I just respectfully do not think it is for me at all. I didn't mind, but I could also do without. Also, kind of hate the sound of the dudes rapping on this. Sounds a bit like gentrification to me. amd I hate it for that. but isn't a 0.
All I could think about during this was Wheeler Walker Jr. Pretty interesting to see where he got his whole fucking sound from. A lot less references to sucking dicks and tits. So I guess that's okay? Little Rock n' Roller got some emotion out of me. It's a solid album.
Leonard can fucking write man. His voice isn't always the best at times though. But I really fuck with him.
Not a real big Dylan fan but I enjoyed a large part of this album. Even really enjoyed the weirdness of the dream song. It's pretty good tbh.
Norah Jones solid as always. Good music to just to kick back too.
Huge iggy pop fan in general. But I really enjoy The Idiot. The Bowie production is felt very deeply. And I think this album itself really shaped Post-Punk into what it became. Iggy is all over Rock. Proto-punk with the stooges and this one. Dude just makes some really solid music.
Middle of road album. I enjoyed the time I spent listening to it.
It's post punk, but with a very clear dash of something else. It was pretty fucking solid.
Eh. Clapton isn't for me I think. I didn't like the Marley cover at all.
It's fun as fuck. Can't understand a fucking thing though. It's cool though.
I think it's interesting because I'm deep enough in this album thing that I feel like I have heard the albums that actually influenced this. Sound system is Striving for a New Order, Siouxsie and the Banshees, synth vibe that it just tottally misses the mark. Shit the instrumentals sound like video game soundtracks from the 90s at times. I want to like, but I think i hate it tbh.
I've heard a few songs off of this one. I dig it, it gives me like this weird uncomfortable but super upbeat vibe. I'll end up checking out more of their discography at some point. Because this felt pretty out there, and it's own thing.
A pretty important album for me during my exploration of rap music. Dear mama will forever stand out to me as an important song for the genre, and to me personally. Add in If i die 2nite, it ain't easy, and heavy in the game and it's a really solid piece of work.
Something about this album reminds of those late nights I'd stay up baked out of my mind to watch that greasy ass show Cheaters. I hated it, but also it was kind of fun?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1YCOT5LasKc That fucking skit is all I can think about while I was listening to this one. I liked it though.
For sure the 60s mixing with that rock and country vibe. It's cool man. Crushing beers type shit.
It's good, cracks me up real hard. Reminds me of the key and peele Skit.
I mean, it's base line pop right? Not sure if it's the pop that started it all. There are some bangers on here but nothing that stands out to me as like extremely impressive.
I thought it was an alright album. I wasn't exactly super moved or anything. Honestly I went in expecting not to be into it. Came away feeling pretty good about it.
I really like this one. Especially for Ray Charles to come around talking all this shit about how he's a better musician than most. To be honest, he is. However, for me I am not super sure his sound is super my ideal sound. Like I did this big band orchestral sound. But I also like the low down and simple stripped country.
Sheeeit man. That dude said if your 14 and hate your stepdad this is for you. Well bro was right, when I was 14 this shit was untouchable. However, I am not fourteen anymore. But to a certain Degree I appreciate it for the Nostalgia, it's fun man.
I am not sad or drunk enough for this one to really hit. But I do think it's a pretty decent album honestly.
Yo this is where the Lime and Coconut thing came from? That's pretty fucking wild. Took me by surprise. Overall it's not a bad record.
Lost a fucking point because of the 17 minute song about a blow job. Sucking on my ding dong says Lou Reed. God I think deep down really fucking hate the Velvet Underground. I get it, they are super influential and all that. But I also fucking incredibly fucking pretentious man. Avant Garde heroine chic rock and roll bullshit.
It's not my favorite bowie. But man is it good as always. Love the album work on this one too. Just about as Iconic as it gets honestly.
Listen, Fuck me pumps will forever ring out in my house. Big fan of Amy, and this is one of my favorites.
I've pretty much enjoyed every single album that Pulp has dropped. This one especially.
I don't super know how to break this one down. It's a decent political commentary about issues that still persist today. Then Flav comes in with some homophobic bars and makes light of beating his partner. At the time maybe it was a really heavy hitting album, however listening to it now. Hasn't aged well at all.
This albums is actually pretty solid. It just sucks dick that the dude is the fucking worst.
Absolute bangers on here, but some absolute filler songs too.
I love motorhead. This album isn't bad. I just don't super fuck with live albums, add in that it's like almost 2 hours of different shows it seems. It's just not a vibe for me honestly.
I don't think album is made for me. I don't super like all the sounds on it. I think it's interesting to hear buffalo gals, and now to have some frame of reference for where the trailer park girls go round me outside on without me comes from. Pretty funny. But yeah, this shit feels like a Musical Safari.
A sonic adventure that feels like it influenced a lot of music.
I really remember enjoying this album when I was young. It's super not my vibe anymore, Clint eastwood is forever a solid banger though. No lies can be told there.
I really dig this one. It isn't a five for me. But it is a very important album. It's one of my friends favorite albums. I can remember many a drunken drug fueled night, with this as a soundtrack.
She got pipes. Son of a preacher will forever rang out very loud in my house.
Pretty solid salsa music. I don't think it's my vibe though.
I tend to normally vibe with this weird type of rap. But man, I won't lie it feels like there is supposed to be a certain shock factor to it, But it's just corny as fuck. The corny ass beats with some decent flows honestly. The artwork was real cool. However, I think I hated this one.
It's cool, a very specific genre of punk that I'm not the most famialr with to be honest.
Eh. I don't think it was all that interesting? Not a coldplay fan though.
I'm a sober man now a days. So this maybe didn't hit like it should have. However, if I ever decide to smoke again and have the time, I'm gonna slap this one on in the background.
This album Fucks. I will not elaborate further.
Yo. Faith fucks forever. RIP George Michael. HE was supposed to be a really stand up guy, I guess he was taking care of tons of people and kept it pretty lowkey. I love to hear that. Album is really solid Imo.
Was pleasantly surprised. It was a very solid listen, with some decent production.
This was pretty rough. I like parts and disliked others. It's for sure a mixed bag for now.
This is one of those albums that I want to listen to while on my porch and watching the rain. Nice coffee and a smoke type vibes.
Pretty Solid Brit punk. Normally not the biggest fan of that Genre. But these guys do it pretty fucking well to be honest.
I kind of hate Live albums, this one was okay though.
I don't know man. This feels like a pretty run of the mill decent album for me. The writing is solid, and dude is hitting licks with that harmonica.
So far what I've learned from this site is that anything Kuta is normally fire.
I feel like I hate, but also like it? Like some of these songs have this real fucking Coffee and cigarettes' on a rainy morning vibe. But in the same vein, it's also just is so fucking pretentious. Which I mean feels like the entire deal with the Velvet underground.
It's not super for me, it feels like some real old man music. And like no disrespect it just sounds pretty old.
Took a while for the voice to grow on me. I was pretty off put when I first started listening. It grew on me, to the point that I think it was a really solid album.
5 UUUGGGHHHsss out of 5.
Hey man Just remember that death is not the end. I really liked this one. It sometimes seems like gibberish, like old ass stories some dude would tell me while I'm sharing a pint with him in some fucking crusty pub. The backing vocals sort of forming this fucked up ghostly Choir. I don't know I liked it.
Lots of different sounds on here. I don't think I'm the biggest fan of classic rock n roll. But It's a solid one with prob one of the most classic rock songs of all time.
It's got some really impressive hits, no joking about that. However, I feel Axls voice super fucking grating. To the point I found it hard to make it all the way through this one.
I feel like I could this sound, but better elsewhere. It wasn't the worst but I don't see me returning to it at any point.
I really think this was a super influential album for the music that followed it. Bamboo banga is indeed a banga. Fucking paper planes is forever a slap. I fuck with MIA the long way.
I couldn't understand a fucking thing said inthe opening track. Had to use the lyrics on spotify. After that one though it's like the rest kicked in for me. I thought it was okay, it was kicking folk/lounge/bedroom rock vibes. And I didn't mind, but I think I have other music I prefer to it.
Liked it alot more than I liked the Last Roxy Music Album. Pretty solid.
Ah yes. Death grips-lite. I fuck with the album the long way. Easily my favorite Kanye.
I don't normally fuck with Brit Punk. but The Clash and this album Fuck.
This is what all those lofi ethereal playlists are going for huh? I fucking wish I could understand the vocals, but this sounds so good.
Middle of the road for me.
This one is interesting, I've never listened to the sonics. This album itself is old as fuck obviously, but it also sounds young? This feels like shit that was made to be counter to a bunch of the bullshit that was coming out then. It's fucking fried, screaming, and distorted as a bitch at some points and I think it worked for me. Can't help but hear the Little Richard influence all over this one.
A crisp as album. “Got fat bass lines like Russell Simmons steals money." Love that shit. But there is like some really interesting punk sounds on this thing. Like heart attack man, Super fucking stands out to me. I think it makes sense honestly.
After only really knowing Beck from the song Loser. I don't quite know what I was expecting, maybe something that made less sense? I liked this one a lot.
this is pretty much peak Hold music as far as I am concerned.
Tom waits with his weird ass folk pirate halloween music. Love it as always.
Shits dated as it gets lol. It's pretty fucking fun though.
I don't think for MGMT was for when it dropped, and I don't think it is now. It's an alright album, but I don't think it's the toppest of tiers. But it probably has place on this list anyway.
It's interesting and textured. Each song is kind of its own mess and that's neat. So it flows from like Folk to electronic to like actual record scratching. I think it's alright, but I don't think it's for me at all.
It's an alright album. I don't know if it's my vibe, but it's not bad.
Was excited to heat some more of her music. This album was pretty middle of the road for me. It wasn't bad, but it didn't super stand out,
He kind of needs Garfunkel for me to really dig it. It's not bad by any means though.
Generally I hate Glam metal. This is probably as good as it going to get for me. There is probably better stuff out there, but I don't care to find it lol.
Huh this came out in 88? When I was listening I absolutely thought this would have came out in the mid 90's. Which makes me either think this was way ahead of it's time or that it had a huge hold over music for a while.
Feels like everything Eno touches for me is an absolute fucking banger. Loved this one.
High Energy and swinging as it gets. Classic.
Formative Album for me. I love this shit, and so many good memories with it. Will forever ring out in my home.
that sweet sweet smooth Saxophone will forever ring out in nothing but Patriotism.
Been in love with Dolly my entire life man.
Oh dude, I've listened to this album so many times. It's nice to have a reason to listen to it again. Heart of Glass is just so fucking good. The whole album is.
An older Bruce dealing with some shit as usual. Always a fan.
School's out is a slapper for sure. The rest of Album is okay.
I really dislike Live albums as is. I don't think this album was bad. But I think it was so fucking boring I couldn't make it all the way through.
Ah yes, the sound of love and all the fucking sadness that comes with it.
I think I liked it, It sounded pretty aggressively old, but not dated in a way that makes it bad.
I hated this honestly. It does sound very Hollywood and big budget. But fuck man it got on my nerves the entire time. I don't ever want to listen to this one again. I enjoyed power of love.
I've never really listened to Elvis Costello ever. This site has introduced me to a bunch of work, and Honestly It's pretty good.
Not super my thing tbh. I don't really care for the late 60's heavy metal beginnings.
This is pretty baseline Rap right? So like, I think the beats and Rhymes are super simple. But these were the dudes, who did it so everyone else could. So it gets points, there but It's still so dated it's kind of hilarious to listen to.
Got weird as fuck at times. It's a vibe that I enjoyed quite a bit.
I don't super like Aerosmith and this one fell flat for me.
I mean Fuck Morrissey. But also, this is like top 5 album of all time for me. So sucks I fucking guess. But it's so solid.
Way too long. I don't like the sounds on this one. Maybe I'm just used to a better version of this genre.
I super don't care about the stones. I think they are interesting, but shit feels and sounds so old it's almost country music to me lol. I don't know, not for me I guess.
A lot better than I thought it would be. Cult of Personality is an absolute banger of a track that I remember being on GTA: San Andreas. So it's a classic for me for sure. Outside of that I wasn't super familiar with any of the other songs on here.
I really liked Korn when I was a young person. In the same vein as Slipknot and Disturbed. It's fire when you hate the whole fucking world. But like, as an older dude. It doesn't hit anywhere near as hard as I thought it would. I won't allow myself to cringe over my teenage years. But if I did, this is one of those albums that would get that cringe lol.
pop punk was never ever my thing. But I can't deny that American idiot, holiday, boulevard, and wake me when September ends are all certified slaps.
Ah yes. The Rock n roll equivalent of elevator music.
It's good, but also got on my nerves at times.
The music makes it clear the dude fucks. And tbh, the album does fuck. I liked it more than I thought I would.
Album cover is fucking sweet. Not for me though.
the story behind this album is pretty damn neat. I think it worked out fairly well.
I hate Ska. I'll forever go on record with that. This one is one of the better Ska records i've ever heard. I atleast made it through this one.
Never heard this one before. Incredibly solid.
I had never listened to Cohen before this list. And honestly he has quickly become on of my favorites from this list. So far this one seems like his best work I've heard yet.
Dudes pretty fucking good.
Prima living it the fuck up. I love this guys shit man.
Solid 3. Most of it was fun and high energy, but it got a little lame for me at times.
It's not bad at all, it's slow and boring but kind of haunting at points? I liked it.
I dislike Live albums, but this technically a live album with songs dubbed that aren't live. Which feels a bit disingenuous.
I've listened to this album a bunch of times, I think this is the weakest of outkasts albums, but even then this album is still a solid fucking 9 which means it gets the ole 5/5 score.
Love the Slits. No dogs in space do a really solid podcast on them, and how important they happened to be for the genre as a whole, even thoughts it's not strictly punk.
First time listening, thought it was pretty solid.
This fucking album got recommended to me in 2008 from a guild member in World of Warcraft. We used to sync up music and shit in our spare time. This album came up, I think it's peak old man rock. Not to confused with Dad rock or butt rock.
Ayo this is pretty fucking neat. Early electronic that feels like floating through space? yes please, it's solid as fuck.
Sort of wish the rating system on here allowed for half stars. This album is right in that 4.5 zone. It isn't quite a five but it's very close. So I guess I am just going to give it a 4. But it's a bit better than that.
I feel like I love pretty much anything Brian Eno works on. This album was a very solid surprise to me.
The sound on this one is interesting to say the least. Was pretty surprised to hear his voice over something like this. It works imo.
I need more of the vocalist from white rabbit and somebody to love. She fucking kills.
Feels pretty middle of the line to me. I wasn't blown away, but I thought it was a decent listen.
I think I really wanted to like this album a lot more than I did. But at times I thought it was really samey, or at the very least kind of annoying. I found myself wanting to skip whole songs, which doesn't happen all that often.
Hot Buttered Soul and some Chocolate salty Balls, not a bad way to spend an evening.
Fucking nothing will ever be harder than Just don't give a fuck.
Absolutely Ethereal. Which I think is just very much Her vibe. I'm glad people are finding about her, she fucking deserves more.
Doesn't get more rock n' roll than Little richard.
