Graceland
Paul SimonI like this album, the bass and rhythm is fantastic. Some classic songs
I like this album, the bass and rhythm is fantastic. Some classic songs
First time hearing this album, although I did know some of the songs. Interesting mix of spoken word and songs.
Had thos album when it came out in 1994, still a great album today.
First time hearing the album in full. It was not really my thing, but I did like most of the bass lines
Loved this album when I first heard it about 30 years ago and still really like the OTT production
I could not get past the monotonous voice and melancholy lyrics on this album.
First time hearing this album. It had some good songs with great basslines.
Good background album. Nora has a great voice and the music is catchy
Ronly knew Brass in Pocket, prior to listening to the album. Really liked the rest of the album especially the bass in Private Life
Incoherent noise, not sure what all the fuss is about
Another new band for me. I liked the mix of differnt influences throughout the album, overall pretty good
Great album
A classic album if ever there was one. Brothers in Arms still gets to me when I hear it.
Ok album with some good songs.
Great easy listening album.
2. Not for me, it just blended into the background and I almost forgot it was playing.
Pretty good album, love the bass lines
Great background music
First time hearing of this band and album. While not usually something I would listen to, this was pretty good
Middle of the road at best. Not something that I will listen to again any time soon
2.5 Have not listened to 50 Cent before this showed up in my list. Not too bad, but I can't see myself listening to the album again
Meh, might have been good in '92, but does not seem to have aged well🤷♂️
First time hearing this album. Really enjoyed it
Meh, track 6 puts it succinctly, Total Trash
Enjoyed the album.
Good album. Starts off great, but by the end I was over it.
Having never heard of Fela Kuti, I went into this album with some trepidation. However this turned out to be one of the best albums that I have heard so far on the 1001 albums. Great fusion of funk and jazz and traditional African rhythms. Throw in Ginger Baker on drums and this is a fantastic album.
Not bad, but not great. Interesting lyrics 2.5
Some good songs
I had this album when it was released and I think it stands the test of time. Emotional and dark with some great songs
Meh, unremarkable music
Interesting early hip hop album. Interesting sounds, unlike todays over sampled hip hop
This album will never be the destoyer of Rock n Roll. It does however contain some pretty melow sounds, think elevator or cafe background music. It would be good background music for a lazy weekend afternoon with a few beers 2.5
Not too bad an album, but not something to listen to on a regular basis.
First time hearing this album, I remember this being controversial on it's release. Some great music but the lyrics are stuck in the past
Please stop with Bob Dylan
Not too bad an album, not great but not bad either. Short sharp songs with a lot of energy
Not good, not bad
Undoubtedly one of the best and arguably most influential albums to come out of the 80's. I loved most of the album then and I still love most of it today.
Not my kind of music
I wondered what the hell was going on when I heard the first couple of songs on the album. All in all thia was pretty decent
I heard of this band about a month ago, when I went down a youtube rabbit hole. I don think this is a true psycheldelic album, but rather a mix of surf and garage rock with some psyshedelic flashes. Over all a good album with some great songs. I do wonder what was being passed around to consider adding an electric jug into the mix🤷♂️
Good album great bass lines
I think this is my favorite Neil Young album
The first song started off with some ripping bass lines and went down hill from there. Listened to the next 2 or 3 songs and decided this is not the album I was looking for
I can see why people back in the liked Elvis, but its not for me
Goth rock is not something that I listen to, but this is not too bad. Some great early adoption of synth drums and computers using squenciers.
Some great songs, but a mixed bag of styles.
Dark and brooding with bloody great bass lines. I hadn't really listened Joy Division before this, but I really enjoyed this album
Never heard of the band or album before today. An eclectic mix of music influences. Not bad, but not great either. One of those albums you put on, on a lazy day reading a book as background noise
Not for me thanks
Meh, it was ok but I doubt I will ever listen to this again.
Great album
I had not heard the full album before and only knew the couple of hits on it. Overall a good album with some funky bassline's
First time listening to a full album by the Stooges. Raw and gritty, I really liked it
Firat heard this in the mid 80's as a teenager. Running with the devill and eruption really resonated with me then and still do today. Apart from a couple of songs this could be a greatest hits album👍👍
Underwhelming middle of the road dad rock.
Not really into folk music, but this pretty good.
Was this an album that should be on this list? I would agrue not. Will I ever listen to it again? Probably not. All things considerd it wasn't a bad album, just not to my liking
Outsde of Orion and Master of Puppets, not much to see, or hear here. Time to move along
Good album, great beats.
Fantastic album, an absolute masterpiece.
I like this album, the bass and rhythm is fantastic. Some classic songs
Not for me. I got to the 4th track on the album and that was enough. Each song seemed to be a near perfect facsimile of the previous one.
Nothing to write home about. Some ok sounding songs but otherwise pretty bland
Who would have thought that you could write an album about a state? While some of the lyrics and music were good, this album is not for me.
First time hearing this album. Aside from Killer Queen the other songs are all new to me. Really liked Brighton Rock and Flick of the wrist. The ablum shows the depth of a great rock band, arguably the greatest rock band of all time
Not really sure about this album. Best track IMHO is little red ridinghood. Might be worth another listen at some stage
This would have to be one of my top 5 albums ever. I remember being introduced to this by a classmate at college(high school for the USA people) whose older brother had a copy. 5 stars
One and a half songs into the album and it's a big NO from me. I don't get why this is on the list. 0.5 at best
The Chain is the only song I really like on this album.
Was looking forward to this album when I saw a couple of REMs hits on it. Aprr of those hits, nothing else was worth the listen
After seeing the announcement that this album is not on any streaming services, I managed to find it on Youtube, although not sure if it's the full album. I think this is an album that will take multiple listens to fully appreciate
Pretty solid album. Liked it when it came out, still like it today
I like some prog bands, but just not Yes
This album rocks, one of the best so far
Never heard of them before, but thats what I like about the generator, there's always something new around the corner. Interesting mix, amazing vocals and bass lines. Not quite a 5, but have added the album to my favorites. Fav songs We don't need who you are and I'm not afraid
Hard pass
I found this to be an interesting Album. An interesting juxtaposition of music, noise and spoken word, albeit unsettling and confronting at times. I probably won't listen to it again, but I am glad that the generator drops these oddities into the mix as they all influence another artist down the line and move music forward in new ways. Doa
I have never really listened to Coldplay, aprt from the insesant radio play that they recieved when they first broke onto the charts. After listening to only 5 songs on this album, I stand by that decision.
Some pretty good tunes along with a couple at the end that weren't so good.
Not too bad an album, a couple of catchy tunes, but nothing to make me listen a second time
Started well with some well known songs, seemed to drop off by the end of the album. Overall not a bad album
I have never listened to Taylor Swift before, but this album wasn't too bad. I doubt it will ever make my top 20 albums, but it is worth another listen
I came across this album a few weeks ago in an article on the most influential albums. I gave it a crack then and didn't see what all the fuss was about, and after giving it another shot, I still don't get it
Nit a big fan, but it's not that bad. I could hear the influence of David Bowie on a track or two. Not something that I will probably listen to again
An alright album from the Fab 4. Nothing to really wright home about unfortunately.
An ok album with some good songs
First time listening to this album and I really liked it.
Great bass and drums, great way to brighten the morning commute to work
Never heard of the band, but they ROCK! Great album from start to finish
Maybe I have heard the Eagles too often, but outside of Hotel California there is not a lot on this album. I really cannot like the whole album
Not bad, but definately not great. I didn't love it or hate it, it's just not my style of music. 2.5
I remember when this album was released, pretty sure I had it on cassette. 5 great hits out of the 9 sings on the album. It has become a bit "Dad Rockish" over the years, but is still worth a listen
An excellent mix of blues infused rock. Maybe not their best album, but still pretty solid.
This is the first time I have heard this album or even heard of Elliott. I enjoyed the album, but the style of music is not really my cup of tea.
I really liked the album. The music is solid with some great bass lines.
I had not heard of the Silver Jews before hearing this album. I have to say that the album was a pleasant suprise, I actually thought it it was going to be a country album when I heard the first song. Will be giving this a second listen
1st time hearing the album, over all not bad. There are some good tunes, but probably not enough for me to come back for another listen.
This really didn't do it for me. There is only one song that I really know.
First time hearing this album. I likedbit
Again a new band for me. Loved this album.
Another album and artist I haven't heard of. I really liked this, there were some great songs
Never been a big fan of Johnny Cash, bit the atmosphere on this album is what makes it
A pleasant supprise. I enjoyed this album more than I thought would
I love this site, yet another album and band that I have never heard of. This is a great band and I really liked what I heard. Top tracker Washer, don't know why it just resonated with me
Not too bad, but not really my thing
I really enjoyed this album, great as background music
Normally this would be a straight 5 stars as it's David Bowie, but to every rule there is an exception and this album is it.
Another band and album that I have never heard of, but thats why we are here. I enjoyed this album enough to give it another listen
Pass
I haven't listened to the Pogues in depth before this album. I enjoyed it, some great tracks with a couple of duds(IMHO)
This is a new favorite. I like some jazz but I have never really explored the genre in any depth.
The only song I knew from this was Schools Out. Have to say I was pleasantly surprised with the rest of the album. Another one to add to my ever expanding number of favorite albums
This was ok, not great but also not bad
Loved this when ot came out, but I don't think it has aged well. 2.5
So many classics on one album. Loved the whole thing
I liked the album, but I wouldn't rave about it.
Yeah, this is not the album for me. I'm not sure what I just listened to, but please make it stop
I realise this is meant to be a masterpiece of an album, but I'm not getting it. I grew up with my parents playing a few of these songs and that's probably where this album should stay, in the past
A relaxing and smooth album to have on in the background while you relax with a nice cold drink after a long day at the office. Great infusion of jazz and samba
Didn't like this album
Great album
Not sure what this was, but it was sort of like Nora Jones without any soul. Hard pass
I really enjoyed this album. Must better than I anticipated, will be listening to more PJ in the future
Hard pass, I really don't see what all the hype is about when it comes Elvis.
A pretty good album, but I doubt that I will listen to the band again
1st time listening to Beta Band. I enjoyed the mix of musical styles.
It all sounded the same, thanks but no thanks
A couple of classics with Parklife and Boys & Girls. Unfortunately the rest of the album was mediocre at best and total drivel at worst
Another album and artist I have never heard. I liked a few of the tracks including Wipe Out on the Wave of Armageddon, 5000 Miles West of the Future,
A pretty funky album. As with a few previous comments I had nothing to reference this against. Iver all not too bad
This is arguably one of Pink Floyd's best albums. Personally I prefer their albums before DSOTM. Fav tracks: the great gig in the sky, Time and Brain Damage.
Not whay I was expecting. To be honest it was a pretty good album. W
Better than I expected, but not my cup of tea
Hard pass
Loved this album
Another artist I had not heard of. I really liked the album
Pretty good album. Loved Contusion, Sir Drake and Pasttime Paradise.
Never heard of this band. Not a bad album, but not one I will probably listen to again
Like a couple of tracks, but couldn't get into the album as a whole
Meh, middle of the road at best. I thought I liked Steely Dan, turns out I was wrong
Hard pass
Santana is a great musician and this is a solid album with some great songs
Not sure how this was ranked the 13th best Album of the 1980's by Pitchfork, I mean WTF were they listening to??? How could this be better than AC/DC, Inxs, David Bowie and Judas Priest to name a few? That aside, I actually enjoyed this album, it will be worth a second listen.

Not my favorite Zep album, but a classic nonetheless
I had never heard of the band before and was pleasantly supprised by them.
I like Thun Lizzy, but I could not get into this album for some reason. Maybe it's the fact it is a mix of concerts with some studio dubbing
Loved the first song on the album, unfortunately it really just dragged on from there
Went into only knowing the title track Green Onions and left wishing that I only knew Green Onions
Pass, I got 4 songs in and that was enough for me
I have never heard of Emmylou before this. I immediately thought of Dolly Parton when I heard her, not sure if that will go down well with fans. Enjoyed the album👍👍
I heard this way back in college and it was completely different from everything else at the time. Trying to listen to it now is just tedious
No matter how hard I try to get into Rush, I just can't.
I had never heard of Fleet Foxes, and TBH I wished it had remained that way.
Definitely not my type of music
Great start to the album, but it starts to drag on about half way through.
This was ok, but I doubt I will ever listen to this or any other Emmylou albums again
I remember buying this album when it came out in '94. There are some great tracks on here, Black Hole Sun and Fell on Black Days being my favorites.
Not really my type of music, but surprisingly not too bad
Classic Floyd, but only worth 3 stars in my book
I really don't get why Bob Dylan is considered to be so great. Hard pass
Giving this a very generous 2 and even that's pushing it.
Not really a fan of reggae or Bob Marley, but I remember listening to a few songs off this album growing up. Not an album that I am likely to revisit
A friend of mine had this album at college, so this is a trip down memory lane. Not all of it holds up but overall a pretty good album IMHO
Pass
A younger me would hate me saying this but, Highway to hell is the best song on this album and the rest is pretty meh
I enjoyed this a lot more than I thought I would
