I love a lot of the storytelling and songwriting in this though I’ve grown a bit more cold on the instrumentation and production of this then I used to be.

Yes and King Crimson are my two pinnacles of a genre that has I think has incredibly high highs and not a lot else that I really have clicked with. I’ve also only listened to a small sample size of both of their vast discographies. But the albums I like of them both, I think I could listen to forever. This album specifically goes to so many fascinating places. I love the organ and bass sounds specifically on the first sprawling song and I love the way that song shifts to highlight different sounds. It’s pure sci-if!

Has some of my all-time favourite songs of theirs like Untitled and Hairshirt along with song of their most accessible bangers like Stand and Orange Crush. On July 21st, 2014, I scrobbled Idioteque 4 times between the hours of 2:20 & 4:13 a.m.. I have a memory of hanging out with my friends nick and sameen and listening to the song on repeat over and over with sameen skipping over anytime the breakdown began.
